The cup runneth over

I'm making a new thread here because you know how things get after 200 posts.

Campfire a.k.a. "Ask An Auburn Beat Writer" tentatively scheduled to begin right here at 10 p.m. CDT. Allegedly. I'm still in Montgomery right now.

102 comments:

  1. I understand your dislike for those kinds of posters. Jay do you have to constantly monitor this thing or is there some kind of filter?

    ReplyDelete
  2. you could always do a test post to see if there is a filter, wartiger...

    ReplyDelete
  3. Thanks for clearing up the Finebaum thing. I had a feeling he was just taking the credit.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Don't give him ideas, Michael.

I monitor the blog quite often.

    ReplyDelete
  5. new admiration for ya Jay...especially during the season. YIKES

    ReplyDelete
  6. Well, all of you going out have fun and be safe. Wish I was headed to a TR Miller high school game. Greg and I are hunkered down for the evening. Watching some spooky stuff, having some hot beverages and answering Facebook stuff. Things are pretty wild and crazy around here!

    ReplyDelete
  7. michael always has great ideas but I think i'll maintain my credibility or lack there of

  8. What does one answer on facebook?

    ReplyDelete
  9. what are ya'll watching monica?

    ReplyDelete
  10. One answers requests to be added, comments made on one's posted photo's. There is a veritable cornucopia of answering to be done.

    ReplyDelete
  11. "cornucopia of answering " I love it...

    ReplyDelete
  12. Sounds major.

Hence lack of Jay Tate participation on facebook.

    ReplyDelete
  13. wartiger - We're considering The Happening and 88 Minutes. If not that it will be something like Extreme Ghost Stories - the tv ghost/haunted stuff.

    ReplyDelete
  14. I thought about making your pic my avatar (recently learned internet term) and being Jay G. Tate for halloween but never got around to it...

    ReplyDelete
  15. I like how Jim from The Office went as "Dave" this year.

    ReplyDelete
  16. you spook yourslef with tv scariness..c'mon!! how about some sixth sense or the ring..or weekend at Bernies now that is a horror for ta

    ReplyDelete
  17. you know I don't think I have ever caught one episode of that show but you reference it quite a bit might be something worth checking out..

    ReplyDelete
  18. It's so not major. I've just not answered any of it for a couple of weeks. It's been lots of fun to reconnect with people from school. It's also been good for networking with with old friends who now live in Birmingham.

    ReplyDelete
  19. lol wartiger I've seen all that stuff! Don't be making fun of my spook material. Speaking of which, my sisters have decided we're going to visit Sloss Furnace next Halloween.

    ReplyDelete
  20. You can waste hours answering stuff on facebook. Kind of like you can waste hours watching Auburn football. I am sooo wasting big chunks of my life right now...

Not sure if I make the campfire or not. I'm going to see HSM3(ergh) and then we have an invite to a party. If I did make it not sure what condition I would be in...

    ReplyDelete
  21. well leaving work. i have to work tomorrow and got some plans tonight so I'll do my best to catch the fire if not check ya'll tomorrow. Happy Halloween Hotties! WAR EAGLE

    ReplyDelete
  22. Jay, I do think requiring registrations for the campfire to be a good idea. It sometimes gets too busy and it is hard to keep up.

Also, I would appreciate it if during campfires we don't bother to post things such as lol, rotflmao, and stuff like that. I don't have a problem with it when things are moving slow, but when things are running fast, I have trouble keeping up and those things just add to the issue.

As for allowing for disagreements, I have no problem with that. Even I do always agree with what I say.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Kristina - If you're in a "condition" you should make a point to be here! That always proves to be entertaining. :-)

    ReplyDelete
  24. WDE, wartiger....have fun

    ReplyDelete
  25. Correction, even I don't always agree with what I type.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Steve - Is there a uniform we should wear while at the Campfire?

    ReplyDelete
  27. Good question Monica, but I shouldn't elaborate. I favor a different uniform for women than men. We have a double standard for a good reason.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Steve, I don't think anyone expects us all to agree, but you know the dude's response was rude, not constructive and didn't contribute to the conversation at all other than to be rude.

But like you have said, he may just be used to the way things are done on other blogs and will hopefully have learned his lesson.

  30. I just joined facebook about a week ago. Lordy, even us mid-forty guys can do that stuff.

    ReplyDelete
  31. It HAS been fun re-connecting with the Montgomery folks and fraternity guys as well.

  33. I blog on myspace, but I require registration because I don't like getting the ton of peope commenting on my blogs. In that sense, I guess I am hypocritical.

can't wait for the campfire! Did anyone on the Blog go to Cornell?

    ReplyDelete
  35. Monica if you have not seen The Happening already, don't. Definately worst horror movie, worst M. Night Sh??? movie, possibly worst movie period. If you decide to watch it and halfway through you're hoping it gets better, it doesn't.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Anonymous5:07 PM

    I need a recomendation

    ReplyDelete
  37. dan, I kind of liked "The Happening", although I didn't really consider it a horror movie, but rather a political statement from tree huggers on how we treat our environment. Your disappointment may be because you were expecting horror. To me, it was similar to "The Legend" with Will Smith.

  38. So Mr. FrontRim and I just arrived in Tupelo, we encountered many lovely sites along the way from Montgomery. The first was very hopeful... We stopped to get something to drink and pulled up next to a Yuengling truck. I just had to get out and take a picture. I hope that it was a sign. We also saw lots of orange and blue along the way. This made me very optimistic about the weekend. WDE to all… JGT… be careful the police are out in full force especially around Hamilton. I hope that everyone has a Happy Halloween and safe travels.

    ReplyDelete
  39. MrsFrontRim, by all means be careful. With it being halloween, every nut other than me will be out and about.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Mark - I'm 42 so that makes at least 10 of us on myspace over 40. :-)

Dan - thanks for the advice!!

    ReplyDelete
  41. Thanks for the road trip notes, MrsFrontRim!!! Very cool. Hope you're right about the optimistic signs.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Exactly Steve, it was promoted as a horror movie, scariest M. Night movie ever, not An Inconvenient Truth- The Revenge co-written by Al Gore.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I just read the funniest review about The Happenings - this guy said it was so bad it made him want to go out after the movie and stab a tree!LMAO

    ReplyDelete
  44. Hahaha, monica, that is something else. Part of why I liked the movie is because Mark Goldberg is in it. He isn't my favorite actor, but he has some good movies. He also recovered from one of the dumbest nicknames ever, Markie Mark.

    ReplyDelete
  45. By the way, thanks to all the Hotties for the pummeling of Tim (not anonymous Tim or not Tim) earlier. I do believe he got the message loud and clear.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Marky Mark has made one fine producer, that's fo sho.

Not sure if you're an Entourage fan, but that's Mark too. (Ari is king!)

    ReplyDelete
  47. I love Entourage, but lets just keep that in between you and me. Don't tell nobody.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I have added another scary part to my avatar. Can you find the Tony Franklin grave? He has a headstone. Even scarier is the Terry Bowden gave, but it is kind of small and doesn't have a headstone. It has a cross, well, it is sort of a cross. We actually just found two sticks and tied them together.

    ReplyDelete
  49. LOL Steve you and that avatar.

(shhhh...I won't tell anyone that you're a closet Entourage watcher)

    ReplyDelete
  50. Kristina,
Nice comment.... you too are felling the might of the Banhammer!!!!

"All hail the Banhammer where the hammer is mightier than the sword"

Happy Halloween Hotties!!! (try saying that ten times in a row)

    ReplyDelete
  51. So let me get this straight. I post myself onto Facebook, and out of nowhere people are going to start asking me questions? About what exactly?

    ReplyDelete
  52. I just looked at the Pick 'em article on Rivals. Wow.

I have been watching Auburn for a long, long time and I can't remember ever being a dog to Ole Miss, ever. The vote was 10-2. Ouch.

Based on all the prognostication, I have reversed my prediction and now feel absolutely certain that AU will accidentally win.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Jay you get those expense report filed?

Don't forget to tune in to The Gridiron Breakdown at 9:30 a.m. CDT Saturday.

We'll roll through the big games of the week and even talk a little NFL.

Jay G. Tate is scheduled to appear at the beginning of the show and you know you want to be there for that.

As always, if you miss it live, the mp3 archive is available for download around 12:30.

    Thanks for the support Hotties!

  55. Mr.S - Your link doesn't work on my computer. Another you posted today didn't work. I did a copy and paste of the url into Google and it didn't find it either.

(THE MAN) LMAO sorry about the srong language. lol TRENT!

    ReplyDelete
  57. Mr. Sensible, I look forward to listening to your show. Do me a favor. Make sure there is an unrealistically positive attitude about the Auburn game that will give me that warm, feel good feeling going on before the game.

    ReplyDelete
  58. coosa, to access the link you just need to remove the front part of it (www.blogtalkradio.com/gridironbreakdown).

    ReplyDelete
  59. Phred - People can type your name or email address in at Facebook. If they find you they request to be added as your friend. If you say yes then they have access to your page. You page has whatever you want to put out there. Info, pictures, videos, etc.

    ReplyDelete
  73. several of our neighbors went to 'trunk-or-treats'. i hear people decorated the trunks of their cars in parking lots and they got candy from there. i think they were at churches.

it's only our second year in our house and the 1st time we've been together on halloween so we thought we'd do the dress up thing. brownie points for Scottie...cha-ching!

    ReplyDelete
  80. Hey Wartiger - Did you notice that I was able to add HABOTN to the blogs I follow? I did it through Google Reader.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Well I am back from HSM3 and declined the party invite. We're lame.

Anyway, I'll be in and out (like you care :-).

Now we should start a hottie facebook group!

    ReplyDelete
  82. Kristina! You are obviously the brains of this place! A HOTTIE FACEBOOG GROUP is brilliant.

See, if you had gone to that party you would have been way too.....tired to think of that idea! ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  83. glad to hear it monica...my short term memory is a little ifffy sometime and I'm usually just kinda closing my eyes and punching the keys until I hear a beep anyway..

    ReplyDelete
  88. Anonymous9:48 PM

Totally off topic, but Bill Oliver is a P.O.S.

Listen to the last hour of Finebaum online if you doubt it.

    ReplyDelete
  89. love ya'lls insights though ladies.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Isn't FB cool! I've only been there a few weeks myself, but it's been crazy fun.

    ReplyDelete
  92. ummm did that boy just say girls are so cheesy? you will so pay for that

Mr. S. - You know everything! You're my info guru hero.

    ReplyDelete
  93. Fake - Couldn't you give us a synopsis? It's not worth an hour of FB late on Friday night.

    ReplyDelete
  94. sorry..women are so cheesy

    ReplyDelete
  95. Anonymous10:00 PM

Sure, Oliver was on JOX earlier in the week saying the only reason Alabama started 0-3 in 1990 was because Stallings didn't have the team in condition.

Finebaum played the clip for Stallings today and he was about ready to spit nails, but held his fire.

He essentially told Finebaum to ask some of the players on that team if they were in shape or not.

    ReplyDelete
  96. Is the wood ready for the campfire? Someone find Greg Schiano and get him to chop some if we are out.

    ReplyDelete
  97. Anonymous10:01 PM

This all goes back to Oliver being bitter because he didn't get the UA job because Stallings stayed for several years after the 1992 season. Oliver was promised the job by Hootie Ingram. However, Hootie was forced to retire in 1995, which left Oliver without his biggest supporter.

    ReplyDelete
  98. Oh that's old Oliver news from earlier this week, right?

    ReplyDelete
  99. Hey Kristina are you setting up that group? If not I'm going to do it while we're waiting on Campfire. Should it be HABOTN or HOTTIES?

    ReplyDelete
  100. So despite being called cheesy there is now a HABOTN group on facebook...ooo shoukld I have waited for Jay to start this?

    ReplyDelete
  101. I called it the HABOTN HOtties

I am working on the settings...should this be private where we have to approve people or open?

    ReplyDelete
