First quarter from Vanderbilt Stadium in Nashville, Tenn. ...
- AUBURN 13, VANDERBILT 0: Todd to Mario Fannin for 28 yards. Only two plays on that drive. Nice pass on the post pattern to split two defenders. Wes Byrum missed the PAT kick wide right. (Wow.) Short prefaced by diving pick from Jerraud Powers.
- AUBURN 7, VANDERBILT 0: Chris Todd to Rod Smith for 7 yards on the score. Other stats: 9 plays (6 runs for 33 yards; 2 of 3 passes for 9 yards) ... also a facemask penalty.
- Andrew McCain in at RT.
- Auburn came out with the power game. Ace formation. Ben Tate. Straight ahead. First three plays: 14 yards, 13 yards, 13 yards. The drive stalled at the 1, though, and the Tigers were stuffed on 4th-and-G from the 1. Ouch.
Did we just get stuffed by Vandy?
ReplyDeleteWell, that was interesting.
ReplyDeletetoss would have been a good play call there
ReplyDeleteNo passes on that drive.
ReplyDeleteI think CTF found a running game.
ReplyDeleteI was surprise one of those on the goalline wasn't playaction.
ReplyDeleteSays something, you know.
Maybe a pass this drive? It would give Tate a breather between first downs.
ReplyDeleteVanderbilt will not run against this front. Ain't happening.
ReplyDeleteFunny, Caleb.
ReplyDeleteTez almost had a QB sack lunch in the endzone.
ReplyDeleteAU may not pass all night eating up yards like this.
ReplyDeleteWho said the campfire left? we could keep this going. Well, I guess Lester will give a break on first downs to get a first down.
ReplyDeleteWe are playing with some fire tonight.
ReplyDeleteNice to see.
where's dunn?
ReplyDeleteWe should get a touchdown for that facemask
Dunn is out with an injury, Ron.
ReplyDeleteDunn out with an ankle injury.
ReplyDeleteROD SMITH! NICE GRAB!
ReplyDeleteWell that was pretty. Who thought we would pass for a touchdown?
ReplyDeleteKentucky down by a touchdown going onto the 4th quarter... Wow...
ReplyDeletehaha herbie just pointed out that trott was todd's intended receiver on that play, it was just a bad pass
ReplyDeleteNice pick!
ReplyDeletePut Powers in as a receiver, that was incredible.
ReplyDeleteIs Vandy going with ONE down lineman on defense against the spread?
ReplyDeleteNo bad pass there. Fannin making a play.
ReplyDeletenice pass! war eagle!
ReplyDeleteWes Byrum misses the PAT kick.
ReplyDeleteOh boy.
(Really nice pick by Jerraud Powers to set that up.)
Hard to complain about the hyrbid attack, gang. It's better than I thought it could/would be so far.
ReplyDeleteByrum=Damon Duval. Headcase
ReplyDeleteI'll say this all day: Vandy cannot and will not run against this front 7.
ReplyDeleteHard to do anything when compromised like that.
Paul Roades is doing an awesome job with these guys.
ReplyDeleteLuckily the front 7 helps to disguise some of our weakness in the secondary...
ReplyDeletewhat's the deal with byrum? how long can Tubs stick with him?
ReplyDeletedo we even have a different kicker?
ReplyDeletegood question.
ReplyDeleteCan anyone confirm the existence of Morgan Hull?
ReplyDeleteSomeone ought to tell the commentators that the defender who facemasked the Vandy guy was being blocked in the back.
ReplyDeleteHe wasn't trying to get his hands that far in his facemask.
Can you all see the "Second Quarter" post? I'm worried that there aren't any comments over there ...
