Fourth Quarter, WVU 27-17
We're discussing the fourth quarter of Auburn's game at West Virginia.
WVU 27, AUBURN 17: Jalloh scores on a 32-yard pass. Auburn defenders miss three tackles, which has become a theme tonight. That's 24 consecutive points now for the home team.
Riggins said WV is doing the same thing Ark did to us, just out of a different formation. We might win one more game this year, and that is questionable!
we have a serious coaching issue... we have 1 game plan and do well, the half comes and the opposition makes adjustments we do not....
we tried to blame specific players, we tried to blame a system, we tried to blame one coach.. but the fact is win or lose this game showes that our asst. coaches are not doing thier job getting these kids ready.
I can only have faith TOmmy will do the right thing come ytear end... if he gets the opp.
Does Tubs even finish the season? I'm thinking the powers that be don't want a win at Bama (as if that's possible) to get in the way of sending Tubs into retirement as a very wealthy man.
I just don't understand how we could be this awful. I haven't seen Auburn play this bad in years. I really thought those days were over. I dread work tomorrow. All those Bama fans will be crowing. Alabama will kill us this year.
The team has given up. I haven't seen this in a long long time. But I was a part of the last team that did this. The 99 team had more fight and heart than this team, and it didn't have half the players.
Our D hasn't been this bad since the UGA game last year...but the stats have lied a lot this year about how good we've been on D. We happened to play UT, MSU, Vandy, USM & ULM who have struggled all year to move the ball.
Mike linebacker suckered bad. Safety not at home. You can even see the WVU running backs LEANING in the direction of the play. How tough can it be to read the play?
while i remember good things said about spencer p on this board, i'm amazed at his terrible reads / over agressiveness that takes him out of plays...... see he has mcneil with him on the outside, charges forward, nobody home on the devine td.
COME ON D!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteIs Eric Smith just an impatient young guy?
ReplyDeleteWhat do you think Jay, do we step up here or what?
ReplyDeleteugly play. bad call.
ReplyDeleteI'm developing an ulcer.
ReplyDeleteThat didn't work.
Eric Smith is very young, yes.
ReplyDeleteYep. Eric Smith will be fine with experience.
ReplyDelete51 yards in that quarter.
ReplyDelete3rd and very long...what's the call?
ReplyDeleteOk Wes. Concentrate.
ReplyDeleteThat wasn't going to be a first down anyway.
ReplyDeleteHere we go.
ReplyDeletefake?
ReplyDeleteJay G. Sorry about the disappear man. I got taken away in the office here and just got back.
ReplyDeleteBurns in panic mode.
ReplyDeletewell. damn.
ReplyDeleteSurprise.
ReplyDeleteWHY!!!!!!! Don't send him out there anymore. He stinks right now.
ReplyDeleteByrum ... wide left and may not have made it anyway.
ReplyDeleteShocking, he missed it, I'm surprised, anyone else?
ReplyDeleteHorrible...
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry I asked if Byrum could make a field goal, that shows my stupidity.
ReplyDelete7 of 13, terrible
ReplyDeleteSuper hillbilly is getting a lot of air time.
ReplyDeleteSeriously, no other kicker at all?
ReplyDeleteWasn't Byrum getting some heat in the preseason from someone?
HOW did he get through????????? 3 GUYS WERE ON HIM.
ReplyDeleteAnother missed tackle. Gabe McKenzie.
ReplyDeleteIt's the Auburn kicker rule...you are good every other year
ReplyDeleteHappened with Bironis, Duval, Vaughn & now Byrum
He was wrapped up, are you kidding me.
ReplyDeleteJay...Grill Rhodes if giving the chance. I know it was a missed tackle, but they have showed no heart tonight.
ReplyDeleteDID WE FORGET HOW TO TACKLE????
ReplyDeleteGabe's gotta make that tackle
ReplyDeletePathetic defense.....look forward to hearing Rhoads after the game.
ReplyDeleteQ just said this is the same thing Ark did to us, running the same plays
ReplyDeleteRiggins said WV is doing the same thing Ark did to us, just out of a different formation. We might win one more game this year, and that is questionable!
ReplyDeleteDevine is a father of 3? Isn't he like 20?
ReplyDeleteIs mr. paul the one who made the comment about CTF hot seat?
ReplyDeleteHe needs to focus on his seat.
completely inexcusable for that devine run to get past the line of scrimmage
ReplyDeleteMcKensie was trying too hard to strip the ball. Gave up 10-15 extra yards.
ReplyDeleteBad technique on tackling. These guys are going to be scared down just because we put a hand on them.
Jay, How is Weezer looking on Saturday?
ReplyDeletemissed most the first half. something wrong with Tate? only 3 carries.......
ReplyDeleteTubs is so fired after this game
ReplyDelete16 points in our last 5 games in the 2nd half.
ReplyDeleteIf by some miracle of God can hold them to a FG here then we still have a chance.
ReplyDeletefield goals will not win this game... only touchdowns...
ReplyDeleteIts like a different O line and D from last year.
ReplyDeleteEveryone pray for a turnover!
ReplyDeleteJay, your 75% on Tubs isa about to get raised by 20.
ReplyDeleteWe could use some "Devine" intervention!
ReplyDeleteTim, FG's won't win any game for us, we can't hit them.
ReplyDeleteSo is this why our offense had so much success against our D in fall practice?
ReplyDeleteJust play the run and make em beat ya with the pass!
ReplyDeletemy point why are we kicking them
ReplyDeleteWe look worn out again.
ReplyDeleteJust like Arkansas
Freakin' horrible.
ReplyDeletePATHETIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteOh boy.
ReplyDeleteIf it's not the offense, it's the defense.
ReplyDeleteGame over.
Zach Etheridge is AWFUL on crossing routes.
ReplyDeleteUgly. Three men had a hand on him and lost him.
ReplyDeleteWhy are we even on the field, just quit, forfeit now.
ReplyDelete75%?
ReplyDeleteDo I hear a 95%?
Like that
ReplyDeleteWow. This season has been brutal.
ReplyDeleteEtheridge needs to sit down...
ReplyDeleteEverytime we blitz equals a big play for other team. I hate the blitz this year.
ReplyDeletethey've got three freakin' players and we can't beat them
ReplyDeletemore great work by etheridge
maybe tubbs will fire rhodes next
Terrible fundamentals, or lack of.
ReplyDelete95% He's gone.
ReplyDeleteI hate to say it, but look back at our schedule...we played a lot of bad offensive teams and it made our D look good.
ReplyDeleteWe might not have been good on D all year long.
We tackled better earlier in the year, but that's it.
So you catching the red eye to Auburn ;)!!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's official. Our defense quit on this season after Vandy.
ReplyDeleteWell, I think we better open it up now!!!
ReplyDeleteGuess the heater stays off.
ReplyDeleteWhat does Tubs have to lose?
ReplyDelete95%...dang Brotha
ReplyDeleteLowder is fueling the jet.
ReplyDeleteCTT it's been nice knowing ya.
ReplyDeleteTo win: Don't get cute. Run the ball hard. Drive down and score a touchdown. Take the crowd out of the game and stop on defense. Score again.
ReplyDeleteTo lose: Try to score quick on big passing plays. Go three and out two more times while the defense is on their heels.
zach just sucked. wow. pitiful.
ReplyDeleteTubs is a done deal, it's officially over, there's no hope against UGA, Bama, or Ole Miss.
ReplyDeleteAny route that isn't a straight down the sideline route, Etheridge is always out of place.
ReplyDeleteThe game winning TD vs LSU was the 1st one...and it's happened ever since then.
He almost gave up a TD on a dropped pass earlier today on something like that.
Q just said after Burns got his foot stepped on he changed his footwork and now he's not stepping into the ball.
If we do score, might as well try another onside kick. No way we stop their offense.
ReplyDeleteAuburn has been so sloppy on defense. It's amazing ... perhaps even more than the offensive problems.
ReplyDeleteWe better hope we can do something on offense here.
ReplyDeleteThe wheels are officially coming off.
ReplyDeleteAt least the Rays are up 4-0
ReplyDeleteJay, get ready to spend a lot more time than usual around the football complex in the coming weeks.
ReplyDeleteWhy can every other team adjust to our offense, but we can't adjust to anyone? Granted our offense generally sucks.
ReplyDeletewe were on their 20
ReplyDeleteI went to kick the dog and came back.
WVU was scoring
What happened>
I'm sure Nallsminger will come up with something!
ReplyDeleteListen to Stan White talking about lack of coaching!
ReplyDeleteIs burns shooting a free throw on the screen pass?
ReplyDelete66 & 68 diving/laying on the ground instead of actualy blocking
ReplyDeleteDefensive problems...playing a team with a system you don't see. A QB with playmaking ability and a lot fo experience.
ReplyDeletewe can do this!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe how fast this season turned.
ReplyDelete100%. Tubs is done. Take your DC with you. And please take Ben Tate with you.
ReplyDeleteWhat did Ben Tate do that was so bad?
ReplyDeleteHolding on Auburn, where's the pass interference?
ReplyDeleteSo Jay G, who is on your short list of head coaching candidates?
ReplyDeleteGood ole Zemba.
ReplyDeleteHold on Lee Ziemba?
ReplyDeleteReally?
ziemba the great
ReplyDelete!
Time to start the serious discussions on the next head coach.
ReplyDeleteBurns seems to think our receivers can catch with their shoe tops when he is rushed.
ReplyDeleteI missed seeing a chunk of this (listened on radio), but the same thing that happened with LSU and Vandy is happening here.
ReplyDeleteThe Offense has sputtered and the Defense is getting beat late.
I said before this game that it would be huge, now we'll get to watch and see.
ReplyDeleteI don't think we'll see Auburn in the national picture for a while.
A long while.
What's the final sore on this one? I say 34-17
ReplyDeleteI love me some Ziemba
ReplyDeleteOk, does anyone work with our QB's about their footwork.
ReplyDeleteI've said it all year long, has anyone seen a fast QB like Burns who has worse footwork?
41-17
ReplyDeleteWe don't have the peeps to have a quick score.
ReplyDeleteTubs, we hardly knew ye.
ReplyDeleteMr. Sensible- The defense has been getting beat all game. They were lucky to have 2 pics. Not one punt tonight by WV.
ReplyDeleteHow did we not recover that???
ReplyDeleteHow did Goggins not get that ball?
ReplyDeleteOkay, time to see if WVU really does have a punter.
ReplyDeleteThe first punt by WV!
ReplyDeleteYES!!!!
ReplyDelete1st punt of the game.
Still 10 minutes left. Two more possessions. Someone tell Emsminger to stop trying to get the score on every play.
ReplyDeleteWe need good, 5-8 yard plays.
1st punt
ReplyDeleteWhy isn't Dunn back to return kicks?
ReplyDeleteThis game is over....Jay will you be in AU tomorrow?
ReplyDeleteSullivan,
ReplyDeleteWe are trying to score on every play??
I haven't seen anything close to an attempt to score on one play in about 3 years.
Tate's useless against a defense with any speed. He's too softfooted, too.
ReplyDeleteEasy to see 5-7 will be the final record and you can lay at least 50% of the blame on that sorry ass defense.
The only reason Auburn looked half way decent early was two gifts from White.
you can dislike what i say but its the truth..
ReplyDeletewe have a serious coaching issue... we have 1 game plan and do well, the half comes and the opposition makes adjustments we do not....
we tried to blame specific players, we tried to blame a system, we tried to blame one coach.. but the fact is win or lose this game showes that our asst. coaches are not doing thier job getting these kids ready.
I can only have faith TOmmy will do the right thing come ytear end... if he gets the opp.
I personally think he should.
Does Tubs even finish the season? I'm thinking the powers that be don't want a win at Bama (as if that's possible) to get in the way of sending Tubs into retirement as a very wealthy man.
ReplyDeleteThey're trying low-percentage plays. Trying too hard to get big chunks. Need to go back to 5 yard runs. We can win this game.
ReplyDeleteI just don't understand how we could be this awful. I haven't seen Auburn play this bad in years. I really thought those days were over. I dread work tomorrow. All those Bama fans will be crowing. Alabama will kill us this year.
ReplyDeleteThat play has not worked all night.
ReplyDeletewelcome butch Davis
ReplyDeleteTate can't turn the corner? Do the coaches watch the flipping game?
ReplyDeleteIf I see Tate run outside again, my head will explode.
ReplyDeleteTate between the tackles is a good RB...the outside runs just don't work.
ReplyDeleteOur best plays in the last few possessions have been Kodi scrambling.
ReplyDeleteHawthorne can't catch a cold.
The team has quit, plain and simple, that ball should have been caught without a doubt.
ReplyDeleteHawthorne can catch every pass out of bounds, but one right to him is dropped.
ReplyDeleteThat dropped pass pretty much completes it, doesn't it?
ReplyDeleteThree and out or a turnover...or it's over.
ReplyDeleteits happened all year
ReplyDeleteHow many times this season have we failed to recover a fumble on a punt return? We are cursed.
ReplyDeleteAgain...16 points in our last 5 games in the 2nd half.
ReplyDeleteStill possible, but we'll need a turnover to seal it.
ReplyDeleteI was on the fence about CTT before tonight. Should he stay or should he go?
ReplyDeleteNot anymore.
I'm not going to rant about it now, but I am done with CTT and this entire staff.
Cameraman calling out Hawthorne
ReplyDeletehe is fast
ReplyDeleteThat is crazy. Devine is punking our defense!
ReplyDeleteNo one stayed home. Over pursuit.
ReplyDeleteTubs needs to throw something to get us fired up
ReplyDeleteThey're getting runners in space - unlike every play Tony Franklin called.
ReplyDeleteWVA ... now up over 400 yards.
ReplyDeleteThis spread off. is pretty good....
ReplyDeletewas it the system or the coaching..
Tubs has single handedley burned the AU football program to the ground
ReplyDeleteGuess all the asst coaches are too effin stupid to realize if Tuberville goes, their jobs aren't safe
ReplyDeleteFour times Auburn has lost a game in which it led by more than 10 points.
ReplyDeleteThere's your number.
No leadership, they don't even care.
ReplyDeleteWhy is Powers in...all he is doing is limping around
ReplyDeleteWhy is Powers in...all he is doing is limping around
ReplyDeleteJay G, $6M, that's your number.
ReplyDeleteThe team has given up. I haven't seen this in a long long time. But I was a part of the last team that did this. The 99 team had more fight and heart than this team, and it didn't have half the players.
ReplyDeleteOur D hasn't been this bad since the UGA game last year...but the stats have lied a lot this year about how good we've been on D. We happened to play UT, MSU, Vandy, USM & ULM who have struggled all year to move the ball.
ReplyDeleteWhat happened to our tackling? No one is wrapping up! Too bad. The offense was doing well early.
ReplyDeleteJay, does Tubs get canned at the end of the year or is there any chance they cut him loose before season end?
ReplyDeleteYep, I think Tommy's loyalty to his assistants all these years have probably cost him his job. I think he knows it too.
ReplyDeleteits over...
ReplyDeleteThe team has given up. I have not seen this in a long long time. The 99 team had way more heart than this team, and it didn't have half the players.
ReplyDeleteCoaches are busy working on their resumes.
ReplyDelete"Goodbye Tommy/It's been Nice
ReplyDeleteHope you find your paradise"
The end...
ReplyDeleteAll I know is Hugh gets high praise from everyone but his linemen have not performed to thier potential for years....
ReplyDeleteI do not blame the kids.. they show up every day and work thier behinds off...
game set match..
Unbelievable....
ReplyDeletewhen is tuby getting fired? monday?
ReplyDeleteEddie ... your comment certainly seems correct.
ReplyDeleteTotally outcoached and outplayed, FRIGGIN EMBARASSING!
ReplyDeleteI don't mind losing, but this is ridiculous.
ReplyDeleteDoes Tub make it to the Alabama game?
ReplyDeleteWho would be interim coach if he is let go mid season?
ReplyDeleteMike linebacker suckered bad. Safety not at home. You can even see the WVU running backs LEANING in the direction of the play. How tough can it be to read the play?
ReplyDeleteit's down right bizzare
ReplyDeleterk, no way, they can't risk him winning, you can't fire a guy after beating bama 7 years in a row.
ReplyDeleteMushchamp for Head Coach
ReplyDeleteKiss those "spread" recruits good bye too.
ReplyDeleteFannin is hurt.
ReplyDeleteI am not sure if it is fair or not. But it is definitely what's about to happen.
ReplyDeleteLet the coaching search begin.
Dang, what a year.
We have no leadership on both sides of the ball. I believe we are a couple of years away from being relevant again.
ReplyDeletecouches will burn tonight, ehh Monica
ReplyDelete31 unanswered points!
ReplyDeletewhile i remember good things said about spencer p on this board, i'm amazed at his terrible reads / over agressiveness that takes him out of plays...... see he has mcneil with him on the outside, charges forward, nobody home on the devine td.
ReplyDeleteI have opened a new thread for venting and ranting and that kind of discussion.
ReplyDeleteAll I ask: Avoid cussing, etc.
maybe tubbs denied a stroke too soon
ReplyDeleteMushchamp ???
ReplyDeleteHe is not ready...
This was a lot like the Vandy game, but WVU has an offense.
ReplyDeleteRK, it depends on how Tubs takes it. I believe he will have the opportunity to coach thru the bama game, but will he???? I don't know.
ReplyDeleteNeed to tell some of our coaches they might as well be sitting in those burning couches, they're definitely in the hot seat.
ReplyDeleteZiemba. Has he been penalized this year????
ReplyDeleteTommy to Stewart: Thanks, you just cost me my job.
ReplyDeleteTommy just cost Tommy his job.
ReplyDelete
