Auburn report, 11/20

Enjoy.

Rod Smith is a really funny guy. Since his college career is almost over, I figured this would be a fine time to let you see how funny he is. It's great going back and forth ...

  4. FYI ... wholesale gasoline now trading at 99 cents/gallon.

I guess speculators kinda missed that one a little bit.

  5. i hope gas gets so cheap, opec has to start giving it away. The way we were all gouged this past summer makes me wanna vomit. Any of yall watch the "chocolate news"?

    ReplyDelete
  6. I think that those out there that said speculation wasn't driving up the price of gasoline as much as supply and demand. Well demand is down, but not enough to justify a 67% drop at the pump. More fear mongering.

You're not that young - Damn.

    That's funny stuff.

    Thanks for the laughs.

He said "Auburn will finish with more league losses this season than it has the previous season for the 4th straight year, the only SEC team in that predicament." Wow. I have been on the fence a lot about CTT, but that stat is really telling. Vandy, Miss. St., Kentucky, South Carolina, Ole Miss, and we are the only SEC team with that "glowing" stat? Dang. My feelings about CTT have been similar to the Clash--
Should he stay or should he go now....If he goes there will be trouble, if he stays it will be double, so come on and let us know.... should he stay or should he go.
4 straight seasons of more league losses? I don't know.
Jay, good coverage of the bball game, man. Word.

gas 1.94 in mobile, where we pump it out of the gulf nearby. think on that one.

  15. I've had too much work to do today, Jay. I try man. Lord knows I try. I'm not your monkey! You can't just make me dance on command!

  16. Bear you need to head over the Pure station on Azalea Road and Halls Mill - $1.79

  17. Dance Monkey! Funny stuff.

    league losses. Hard to handle.

We do have six. I hope we get seven. Time will tell.

Even if it is seven, I think it should not wear well on CTT. IF he can get his team up to beat the number 1 team in the country what about all of the other teams they lost to?

Seriously, who is coaching us, Bill Curry?

  18. lol @ dance, monkey, dance!

Michael that should get you a big boy M.

  19. Michael, you do good work. Thanks for being so HOT.

  23. I just met a dude frozen in ice in 2003. He has NO IDEA about the crap that has gone on with gas the last few years. He is showing zero appreciation for the current drop. I wish he would at least act excited.

Jay G- not lookin for props here, but no love for The Clash reference? from a guy with your vast musical knowledge, i thought you would appreciate that band drop.

    ReplyDelete
  25. michael, words cannot describe how ausome your past few posts were.

    dance!

    ReplyDelete
  26. Bear, man, I missed that.

I also missed The Clash entirely. If it's not "Rock The Casbah" or "Train In Vain," I'm not down.

Jay G-- the wife said to pass on the Wii. She wants me to get a new stereo/ipodready/satellite installed in the truck. On that topic- dows anyone know what packages i should get on XM/sirius if i want to get all the bowl games and NFL playoffs? I know the merger has caused "issues" with people, but I am naive to the satellite radio thing. any help would be appreciated.

    ReplyDelete
  29. $17 solid there mr. bear. i've already ordered it. :)

    ReplyDelete
  30. props to the wife on that decision bear. my wife hates my ride. she's never agree to put any more cash money in that baby.

  31. Dude,

CTT lost this season when he DIDN'T bother going on the interview the SINGLE MOST IMPORTANT HIRE OF HIS CAREER AT AU!

    Is that true J. Gilligan?

Did the man not make the trip?

And would anyone argue that the Franklin hire was his most important hire since he came to AU?

    ReplyDelete
  32. Anonymous5:32 PM

yeah, i feel bad about spending the cash on myself, but she insists since we travel from Mobile to Michigan a few times a year. No more searching turn by turn on am radio channels driving through Kentucky, where all there is is country, umm, country, and for a change, country music. (esp. on I 71 b/w Louisville-Cincinnati)

  34. now that i have a new modem at the hizzle (yippee!) i finally got to to hear the audio from today's video.

my favorite part to Rod Smith: "you're not that young....daxx!"

    nice.

    ReplyDelete
  35. nice CII, what's the HABOTN's cut?

    ReplyDelete
  36. I'm pretty peeved at sirius. Seems like they have tried to run me off a little more each year. Dropped sec football, backspin, left of center, sirius blues. Not nearly as impressive as i thought they were at one time.

I was trying to use my Wii to post to the blog and couldn't, just wouldn't keep connection on the page. I really like the wii but i'm buying an xbox 360 here soon just for left for dead, i know there's lots more but that is the best game i've played in a LONG time.

Oh, and have ya seen Big Daddy Kane in the zombie flick "dead heist"? It's ridiculous. Go out and buy world war z though, so you'll be on the ups when the movie comes out.

  37. Cards are running over me tonight -- but its for monopoly monies.

    I may jump in a 2/4 game.

    ReplyDelete
  38. i need to upgrade. i'm still at PS2 level. (sigh)

    ReplyDelete
  39. i TOO WANT A 360 ---- JUST FOR sports games but I'd like a Sopranos or mafia type game.

Any ideas? eBay seems the best placce to get one.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Anonymous5:55 PM

I may be in the minority, i know, but I am super pleased with the PS3. Blasphamey (sp?), I know, but i am thoroughly pleased with the games, MGS4, NCAA09, Madden09, Socom-Confrontation, and obviously the bu-ray as well as online play. No problems at all after 5 months. (knock on wood)

  41. I heard an interesting thing today that was overheard on the AU sideline last week against UGA. In the 4th quarter, Ref to UGA player"You need to watch that or next time I'm gonna call it." I was told it was in reference to pass interference. Not trying to make excuses, just thought it was interesting. The source is legit.

    ReplyDelete
  42. From what I've read, the 360 is what I'll get -- - - if ever.

    Its cheaper right?

I'm a newbie to "gaming" so I dunno.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I think they are both great platforms. Xbox seems to be the choice among most of the demographic of my age (35ish). I've always been ok with a gamecube or nintendo product. Left For Dead has upped the ante, i don't want an Xbox, I NEED an Xbox, strictly for that game, everything else (sports games, etc) is gravy. I will say if ya want one i think the $400 jobbie is the one to get unless you just wanna play with friends at your house. It'll be all bout the online play for me.

    ReplyDelete
  44. not suprised.

I hope its not an exscuse but I don't doubt it.

What I would like to know is what the refs in the Pitt/Diego game said to one another when they huddled and cost a bunch of people a bunch of money.

But many don't realize -- I didn't until I read CFN.com --- the same happened in the SC/Stanford game ---- back door cover.

    ReplyDelete
  45. thnx for the info -- -we're the same age-ish.

I don't feel so bad now because I want a game -- my ole lady --- who's 8 yrs younger --- thinks I've lost it......

Now, did I have "it" --- dunno.

    Laters fellas

    ReplyDelete
  46. Yeh, it doesn't change the fact that Mario was on the sideline the last two drives or that we ran a fade route on every play, etc..But its was good to hear since I was yelling at my tv on a couple of plays wondering where the flag was, now I know.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Chris, if you had "it", your girl wouldn't care what geeky stuff you came home with or talked about ;) Sorry man, you left that wide open for me.

    ReplyDelete
  48. so i guess noone plays rockem sockem robots anymore? jgt, you need to seriously upgrade your knowledge on the clash. rent "west way to the world". they were amazing 9as is your habotn creation).

    ReplyDelete
  49. Anonymous6:41 PM

dan refs say that in every game I gurantee it... They claim they are trying to "teach the game"

    ReplyDelete
  50. video games in my house died a little when I got married, then really died when the baby came. Now I can only play wife inclusive games like guitar hero. not that mind, i've saved a lot of money not upgrading systems and buying games.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Is "Rock the Casbah" actually sung in english? I can not make out a word in that song...good beat though.

    ReplyDelete
  52. What do you say about a 9:30pm Campfire? Fall in Hotties, fall in!

  53. I still have a Mattel Electronic Football hand-held game somewhere around here ... maybe my old Magnavox Odyssey.

  54. Jay G,

However, Irons was diagnosed with a learning disability as are many athletes at Auburn in order to skirt academic rules by the NCAA that would keep people who do not belong in college because they are unintelligent from playing, and said in an interview he was given no accommodations, such as extra time, for his test.

This was taken off of David Irons' Wikipedia page. Is there any validaty to the "as are many Auburn athletes" line?

    ReplyDelete
  55. Anonymous7:59 PM

Cory-I thought that was rock the cat box.

  56. Rod Smith = Flava Flav!!!!

  57. I once changed a wikipedia page to say that cougars understand Chinese but not English and some other nonsense. I submitted it from an air force base computer, and afterward it was all like, "Thank you fro submitting it from US government IP address blah blah blah" and I was like "uh oh, they're onto me. better not do this anymore." It got corrected by someone within an hour.

Anyway, anyone can right anything on a wikipedia page, and it has a good chance to stick awhile on ones they aren't watching too closely (aka David Irons page)

    ReplyDelete
  58. Anonymous8:20 PM

michael, so that info about Iroins on wiki is wrong? The part about several athletes at AU had learning disabilities is odd to see.

    ReplyDelete
  59. lol @ rock the cat box

I never could understand those words.

  61. Drop your bombs on Denny Chimes, down the Casbah way.

    Ali Sharief don't like it.

    Rock the Casbah, Rock Casbah

    ReplyDelete
  62. Oh to be Dwight's Tiffany. sigh...

By the way I don't even know what the real lyrics mean:

Now the king told the boogie men
You have to let that raga drop
The oil down the desert way
Has been shakin' to the top
The sheik he drove his Cadillac
He went a' cruisin' down the ville
    The muezzin was a' standing
    On the radiator grille

    ReplyDelete
  63. Anonymous8:53 PM

Mon-good work. now insert rock the cat box. Those lyrics fit in with the others don't they?
