Cross Muschamp off the list

Will Muschamp has been named coach-in-waiting (the new gig in college football) at University of Texas. I'd say that jump from Auburn to Texas worked out well for him.

Perfect deal for him. He can learn how to manage stuff beyond defense while learning under Mack Brown.

How long does mack have left? 5 years?

I don't think will is gonna sit around and wait that long

    Jay,

I'm going to assume that you knew that this might be coming....especially since you lowered your percentage yesterday.

    Alan,

Mack will be gone within two years, IMO. He will be the next Texas AD.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Jay, you always say Muschamp isn't ready to be a head coach yet. What will happen in the next couple of years to change that? He already has plenty of experience as an assistant.

I think Mack Brown has 8 years left on his contract.

Gene Stallings had time left on his contract when he retired.

Mack Brown will move to the AD job within the next two years.

  9. Anonymous4:44 PM

I wasn't saying he would stay eight years, just what I thought the contract said.

    oh..I misunderstood...

    ReplyDelete
  11. I don't think Muschamp ever was part of the Tigers' plans this time around.

I'd expect to see Muschamp running things by 2011.

This scenario allows him to handle many aspects of the head coach's job without the pressures of the head coach's job. That's exactly what he needs.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Anonymous4:48 PM

I really thought Muschamp would be a HC somewhere else next year though. I was listening to Herbie too much.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Anonymous4:48 PM

Muschamp really didn't have anything to do with Jay reducing the %. As I recall, Jay said Will wasn't coming to Auburn period.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Will wasn't coming to Auburn. Period.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Anonymous4:59 PM

If he isn't ready to be a head coach now, I don't think he'll be ready to be a head coach two years from now.

    ReplyDelete
  16. I've said he wasn't ready while some Auburn fans were begging for him to come in.

So, Jay dropped his % yesterday?

So what is the current terror threat level?

    ReplyDelete
  17. It'll be bumpy initially.

Texas is taking a risk here.

As the Kinko's dude said in Jerry Maguire: "That's how you become great, man. Hang your balls out there."

    ReplyDelete
  18. I'm now of the opinion that Tuberville will be the coach in 09. I haven't had a person guarantee that outcome; I just hear a lot of people preaching patience.

I figure that means a decision has been made.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Stallings didn't "retire" on his own.

He is quoted at his presser saying "If it was up to me, I'd be coach at Alabama."

This sucks. CWM is going to make a good HC but Texas wasn't where I'd thought it'd be.

Him vs Stoops will be good for years to come. Good luck to him.

    ReplyDelete
  20. He better hope that Mack stays awhile, cause he is green, green green when it comes to being a head coach.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Stat of the day that makes me sad:

Losses in the last 2 years: 10

Losses in which AU led in the 2nd half: 9

    ReplyDelete
  22. Anonymous5:16 PM

Stallings would not have retired had he been in an ideal situation....However, it was his choice to retire.

He had the backing of Paul Bryant Jr. He wasn't going anywhere, unless he wanted to on some level.

He left because he didn't get along with Bockrath. The situation certainly wasn't ideal.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I still don't think he will be any less green 2 or 3 years from now. What, will his official title become "Head Coach Intern" instead of defensive coordinator now that he knows he is getting the job?

I am of the opinion that nothing he experiences during the next couple of years will more prepare him to be "the guy." He will have to learn as he goes, just like all first time head coaches. He would have done that in his first year at Tennessee or Texas or wherever he would end up. And like other head coaches, he might be successful. Could be wildly successful like Petrino or Stoops or other coordinator to head coaching hires. He could be a disaster. I think he will be pretty good, but definitely didn't think he was a sure enough thing to get rid of Tubs like some people think.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Bob Bockrath!

Hadn't heard that name in a while. What's he doing these days? Lemme guess: Running another organization into the ground?

    ReplyDelete
  25. Sure, he won't have HC experience but he's been at TX one year and now will have a few years under his belt recruiting their areas and building relationships with HS coaches.

There's NO WAY this won't help him transistion.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Anonymous5:24 PM

    Jay,

Last I heard he was an AD at a Community College somewhere out west.

He and Sorenson were pieces of elephant dung.

I dated a girl at Alabama whose dad was a professor. He told me that Sorenson & Bockrath would be trouble for the athletic department. He wasn't wrong.

    ReplyDelete
  27. This is a perfect bridge for Muschamp. Yes. Yes.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Anonymous5:27 PM

Boackrath is now a Yavapai college where he is a dean for health, physical education, recreation and intercollegiate athletics.

Words can't adequately express my disdain for him.

  30. It seems to have become quite vogue to be named the Head Coach in Waiting.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Monica, is that similar to this statement..."Always a bridesmaid never a bride"?

    ReplyDelete
  32. The new coach in waiting thing is stupid to me. He needs to get a job while he is the hot young assistant out there. What happens if Mack Brown hangs around for five years and Muschamp's defenses continued to get torched? He would definately get offered a decent HC job in the next two years. Much like what's going to happen with jimbo fisher. Seems to me Muscamp handcuffed himself with this one.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Anonymous5:38 PM

Who will die (I mean retire) first, Bowden or Paterno. Poor Fisher, Muschamp will probably be HC before he does.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I think, depending on the terms of the agreement, it's more like a dog marking his territory. If you're OK with being...marked...it's a good deal. Time will tell how these kinds of "we're-not-ready-for-him-but-you-can't-have-him" deals work out.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Say what you will about bockrath, but he did not want Dubose. Had he had his choice, Bama would have probably had Beamer for the last 11years.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Anonymous5:40 PM

Muschamp will be ok even though his defense stinks - he learned coachspeak from the best CTT.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Well we will see how it works out for him... sure hopes his defense stays good.... remember there are aonly 1 year guarantees to those type of contracts....

    ReplyDelete
  38. any video today? What about Tate? I would love to hear his thoughs on that last ball.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Mark, I got so frustrated about the lack of internet and lack of players to interview that I scrubbed the video for today. I was just too dadgum angry.

I'll resume work on it tomorrow.

I got AC, Bosley and Walt McFadden on tape. I was denied my promised interview with Tez Doolittle.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Well, WM is no fool, parlayed a $400,000 job into 900,000...WOW no bad for a guy from Rome, GA

    ReplyDelete
  41. Jay, that's cool. Any idea why they keep throwing the ethernet on the scrap heap.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Just how difficult would it be to get a copy of the Muschamp contract?

    ReplyDelete
  43. Well, they cut off the J-H internet on Saturday. I don't understand the reasoning behind that at all.

Today ... I was in a completely different location. Maybe the work that they're doing with the new workspace in the athletic complex is affecting the ethernet? I have no idea, but I definitely blew my stack over it.

Ask any beat writer. They're confirm my tantrum.

No internet access = me no happy.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Mon, I could request the contract under terms of the Freedom of Information Act ... if that information doesn't come out during the next few days.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Anonymous6:03 PM

I bet that is frustrating to be promised an interview only to have it taken away....

I don't know how you keep from telling folks off at times.

Of course if you do that, they may make you cover Saban for a month or so.

    ReplyDelete
  46. It would be interesting to see just how these HC in Waiting deals read.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Dude, I think it's the man trying to hold you back. They got wind of the whole live game blog deal and pulled the plug. Then they found out about all that goes on here during the week and they want to end that too. It's the man. Gotta fight the man!

    ReplyDelete
  51. Anonymous6:34 PM

    Jay,
You are confident that Tuberville will be back next season, which seems to be logical. Is there any indication that they are going to pressure him on getting the team to a set number of wins/losses? Also, any early indications of who might be a possible OC?

    ReplyDelete
  52. Number of wins - long shot & no way its made public.

A mandate that the OC can bring in who they want - happen'

    ReplyDelete
  53. Anonymous6:58 PM

I'm with Alan. Will will jump ship before it's his turn there. And I wouldn't call this the new thing just because Jimbo "In Limbo" Fisher has that arrangement.

I also don't but it that Jay didn't think Will was a candidate for the Auburn job based on comment dating back to about this time last year to somewhat recently.

And I'm not picking on Jay by any means. I think Will, for some reason, has been an obvious choice and that always puzzled me.
FWIW, I expect Tubs to be back next year with a new OC, OL coach, and a new WR coach. I don't see Auburn's options out there.

I've kind of changed my tune on Tubs' recent attitude. I mean, what is his character supposed to be? He's totally under a microscope. He's snake bitten and nothing he can say will ease anybody's pain.

That brings me to another sub topic. Who really cares what a coach says after a win or a loss? What does it matter? What's on the field matters. Saban delivers that message all the time and his crimson cronies can't read it. They worship him. He won't stay there.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Jay G - I was reading some of Tubs comments in other places and I have started wondering. Have you ever felt like Tubs doesn't like Fannin for some reason?

    ReplyDelete
  55. t's hard to imagine there being much of a down side if you're the one offered one of those deals. You're promosied a plum job in the future and in the meantime you get a substantial raise and ease your way into the new gig. If, for some reason, the head job doesn't open up quickly enough for you, there's always the possibility of another school buying you out of that deal and making you their hc.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Michael L. - it depends on how inaccessible the agreement makes you to other schools who may be interested.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Anonymous7:16 PM

    Phred, you mean...

"Fannin had a heck of a game but he's not different than the other three. Theu could all have scored on those plays."

Incredibly stupid Tubs comment. Things that almost make me hate him. Fannin's instincts on the running play are not acquired by Davis or Tate. Not even close. Lester's agile but he doesn't have strength in the same universe that Fannin has.

My above post, I wasn't signing off on Tubs. I'm ready for him to go. Just don't know what he could say to sooth anybody's pain. He's a typical little man made it big case.

    ReplyDelete
  58. CTT talking about Fannin.

"He made two very good plays but I think those other guys could have done the same thing being in that situation. There's not a lot of difference in any of those guys."

Seriously? C'mon dude ... fo realz?

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  61. Folks on here seem to think Saturday was an almost win; while I tend to view it as Richt almost blowing another big game. HE is famous for it. That being said, kudos to our defense for holding 'em down.

Regarding the offense, Jay, do you think Kodi can get some points on the Crimson Tahd.

    ReplyDelete
  62. CTT is fur-eaking hilarious. I bet at some point, he will say, "I expected to lose 7 games this year".

He trys to play everything so cool.

Great problem to have two good QBs. All the RBs are the same and can make great plays.

We have been holding our game plan until the Alabama game.

We really did not want to win the games we won. We only wanted to win the Alabama game and humiliate them. But, heck fire, what can you do. UTM was bound to lose eventually.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Phred - You just set the bar too, too high.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Oh, I forgot one, "The recruits are hanging in there...."

No. 1 Alabama secures official visit with Auburn recruit Atchison

Douglass linebacker Jonathan Atchison, who committed to Auburn, has scheduled an official visit to archrival Alabama.

he will make a a recruiting trip to No. 1 Alabama on Jan. 17. His visit to Auburn is scheduled for Jan. 10. Atchinson is also hearing from Florida, which has shown strong interest but has not offered.

Atchison narrowly committed to Auburn over Alabama, which made the Crimson Tide intensify their efforts to lure him. Atchison said he remains committed to Auburn, but is simply “hearing out other schools.”

    ReplyDelete
  67. Monica,

There is no telling Bobby to do anything. Just look at those god awful plaid jackets he wore in the 70s and early 80s. Come to think of it, those sweaters were pretty bad.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Anonymous7:36 PM

Atchison a la Tupac Shakur look alike Jerrell Harris (who they're disappointed in so far).

Auburn HAS become the new FSU though. Come here to dwindle away on the bench Mario Fannin's of the ranks. Come here to live a clean life, study hard, and earn a proper living as hard working American. Nevermind the NFL. That stuff's for prima donnas.

I finally had a chance to listen to Jay G's segment on The WMSP Roundtable from Monday.

So, in honor of that (and with an assist from Purdue), I present you all with the Tommy Tuberville Answer Ball

  70. You guys know those other games was pre-season games. The real season starts now.
    Another famous quote.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Anonymous7:51 PM

    Phred? May I?

Loved his comment on the "gameplan" for Alabama. We've saved our one gameplan for this game. So if you don't understand "gameplan" you can't play.

"They'll all play," Tuberville said. "Mario had a good week last week. Ben's had his good weeks. They'll all be healthy going into this game. Brad wasn't quite as healthy as we'd like last week. He didn't play as much, play any on offense.

"We want to go in with players that understand the gameplan. We want to gameplan with them (what!??). This game, being the last regular season game, you'll do some different things, formations, personnel settings (so we haven't done these things until now?). When you have this long, you don't want to over-coach but you also want to do some things to get your best players on the field (like Fannin)."

Clown. I don't know what happened with Tubs and Shula met for the last time. But it appears as if they somehow traded personalities.

    ReplyDelete
  72. sensi, the 8 ball is hilarious.

    ReplyDelete
  73. crudup,

I don't think you can say mario fannin has been wasted on the bench. The dude is only a sophomore. This year he had a banged up shoulder and they didn't want him reinjuring it, and last year he had a bit of a fumbling problem. With a compotent OC him and tate are going to be pretty good next year. I know your feelings on tate, but he has run pretty hard the last three games.

And atleast we got McKenzie back at tight end where he belongs. Hopefully he will be there all next year.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Jet says if it can't be Boom, let it be somebody ... anybody ... change must come.

    ReplyDelete
  75. I thought the Magic Eight Ball was a pretty apt comparison. The way he flip-flops, you'd think it really was that random.

I don't take offense to it or anything. He can say what he wants. What sucks is when you all get on me for the weird logic behind some of the things he says.

Like this Mario Fannin thing (Phred referenced it above and it's the basis of my lead story tomorrow).

There's no way I can explain that.

    ReplyDelete

Jerrell is playing alot on special teams.

In fairness to him, there are some pretty good LB's starting in front of him. He's just a freshman. He'll get his chance.

  81. Jerrell needs to gain wait. Otherwise, he will just be another little ball of hate - hurt.

    I'll take my whipping.

  83. G - I can't wait to read that story. I mean, when I read that I wanted to reach through the computer screen and strangle him. If I had been standing next to him I probably would have slapped him. "Coach ... SLAP ... Snap out of it ... SLAP ... are you OK? ... SLAP" I think you should just print the quote and then follow it with what you just said about 350 times, like writing on the chalkboard at school when you act up in class.

    Like this ...

"CTT quote." There's no way I can explain that. There's no way I can explain that. There's no way I can explain that. There's no way I can explain that. There's no way I can explain that ...

I fully expect him to bulk up nicely after a year in the S&C program. Saban likes his LBs to have some weight on them, so I don''t think that will be an issue.

I'm not too sure how good the S&C program was at Gadsden City High.

    ReplyDelete
  85. Anonymous8:35 PM

    phred,

His quotes reminded me of the reporter in 2006 that asked Shula about Cecil Hurt's characterization of his offense as being "fundamentally flawed"..... All Shula could do is repeat the phrase fundamentally flawed. I'm not sure he ever answered the question. It was very strange.

    ReplyDelete

Actually Jet you weren't around a couple of month ago when the CWM declarations started...so although it's big of you to step up to take the licks you are too new. I don't remember the specific folks saying that and weren't intended for specific blame anyway...my comments were intended to illuminate the silliness of negative speculation.

    ReplyDelete
  89. I can't wait to hear what Joe B has to say about this game tomorrow. 17 turnovers in the first half and they are only down by 16.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Jay G, I think UNC is going to hang a 100 on the Cats tonight. They look awful winded against the Heels. I thought Billy G was a uptempo coach.

I think that as bad as people may think Gottfried and Lebo may be, they aren't in over their head the way that Gillispie is.

    ReplyDelete
  91. hoopie:

No offense to you, but any replacement of CTT would not be considered "negative speculation" in my circle. Especially one CWM. I am not big on him as a HC yet, as I want experience. I also want a coach who will not average 4 losses a season.

    ReplyDelete
  92. Anonymous9:01 PM

CWM has gone from $300k/yr to $400k/yr to $900k/yr in 3 years. He has moved around and up so fast that I wonder if he has enough folks around him to watch his flanks? Listen to that paranoia...sounds like I'm on a CFB blog.

    ReplyDelete
  93. Anonymous9:05 PM

Well....speculating on a HC replacement in the middle of a season when there are no official announcements can have no positive and several negative effects on a program.

Speculating that it would be CWM is naive. That guy is an emotional hairball that has the possibility to be groomed. Texas is obviously willing to take the chance that he can be groomed, but also knows that he is not emotionally ready.

    ReplyDelete
  94. What sucks is when you all get on me for the weird logic behind some of the things he says.

I'm not sure why someone would get on you for CTT's disjointed statements. That's goofy.

  95. agree with both comments.

    ReplyDelete
  96. Mon, he's watching UK play. It is a bad night.

    ReplyDelete
  97. Did I imagine this, or was Applewhite rumored to be the heir apparent when he left for Texas last year? Wonder how he feels about all of this?

    ReplyDelete
  98. I meant it would be goofy for someone to blame Jay G. for CTT's disjointed statements.

    ReplyDelete
  99. I guess Applewhite should have gotten himself on of those fancy shmancy HCiW contracts last year.

    ReplyDelete
  100. Anonymous9:25 PM

Phred...Texas didn't announce such...but the Bama fans spun it that way. B/C Major is a Texas fav, it made a good story. He didn't do that well at Bama and $aban was probably glad to see him go. Only an insider would know if MA is contributing to the Texas offensive success this season.

    ReplyDelete
  101. Anonymous9:29 PM

I'll admit I thought, at one time, WM would be the new HC. I thought he shouldn't be and am glad he got this job so we will not get him.

I am also pleased that Tubbs will probably be with us next year. Just looking forward to the new OC.

I'll take Malzahn for $400k, Alex.

    ReplyDelete
  102. Mark, it looks like watching UK play ANYTIME this year is going to make for a bad night. Turnovers... no defense... no CLUE!

    ReplyDelete
  103. I think we should offer Leach a cool million to come over here and be the OC. That's 200k more than he is making now.

And now I will sit back and wait on the barrage of abuse I am about to recieve.

    ReplyDelete
  104. Anonymous9:39 PM

I thought Leach got 1.4 mil a year.

Either way I want an OC that will be willing to let'r rip. Run it or pass it I don't care but run the offense with a purpose.

    That's what I'm talking about.

    ReplyDelete
  105. Anonymous9:39 PM

Mon..I don't recall J getting slammed either. Then again, I kinda zone out when reading someone attack CTT's vernacular. Maybe(like CTT) someone got careless with pronouns and splashed some criticism onto J.

    ReplyDelete
  106. Anonymous9:54 PM

If Leach goes undefeated, then he is probably ready for the SEC. TT beat a tired Texas team. OK will not be tired, so it should be interesting.

It has taken Leach a number of years to "build" TT into a team that can score against the big boyz. Many SEC fans that post on the blogs won't wait that long. Give him the right DC and 5-7 years and he may build a winner.

Leach probably is a coach that would come to the SEC for $$$.

    ReplyDelete
  107. I slam Jay regularly... slam him with love!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  108. Which reminds me FSJ ... I think if Auburn can be more fundamentally fundamental, they have a good chance.

Phred it is easy to see why you are on the ring of fire.

    ReplyDelete
  109. OK, here's what I don't understand. Tubs is the CEO of his company-AU football. By his admission(he fired both of them) he has made mistakes hiring OC's. Now he is saying I know what it takes to fix the problem I need to replace the OC AND hire new assistants to replace the ones I have kept around for 10 years so they can draw retirement for the state, but now I will cut them loose for the good of the program. And TPTB are saying patience is needed. Am I misreading this situation, or does this sound like a reasonable argument against letting CTT pass the buck again on assistants being the issue?

    ReplyDelete
  110. Okay folks, as I have said, I think Tuberville will be back, but in the interest of spurring on purely unsubstantiated hypotheticals, I will provide this. What if Muschamp got the coach in waitin title because another school approached Texas about talking with him? Now, have at it. Enjoy.

    ReplyDelete
  111. Well, since Tubs now has an opportunity to stay, I will drop my Ron Zook campaign...Unless the Zooker will be willing to take an SEC OC job when Illinois fires him in a couple of weeks..

    ReplyDelete
  112. Steve FC, Jay said that on facebook already (as more of an 'it happened' statement than a 'what if' question). You don't get credit for it.

Borges was not a mistake hire. He was not retained due to a lack of continued development and stagnation. I think that as he had chlidren, maybe Borges lost some of the ambition requisite for continued success - such as all the legwork and extra effort that is necessary for effective recruiting. That is not Tubs' fault. To Tubs credit, he made a difficult decision to change last year, when it would have been much easier to maintain status quo.

In ten years, he has brought in two coordinators that did not work out and could be considered bad hires (D Gibbs and Franklin), and both were quickly rectified.

Franklin could have been a good hire, but there was a personality conflict that proved fatal. I think Tubs has learned that lesson, which will be evident when the new coordinator has input regarding retention of current offensive assistants. The BBQ is about to become a pot-luck.

  114. Jay all this CWM talk got me curious about Texas and their facilities so I go check out their website. I noticed where they give free tours to the general public (not on game days), I was wondering does Auburn offer anything like the tours Texas offers. By the way easy to see why they get the recruits they do.

  115. tigerfan, that was a reference to some ESPN commentator's quote. I forget who. I thought some old timer's would remember it, but apparently not.

  116. 28 turnovers for UK tonight.

    Is that a lot?

    Good line.

  118. I think the guy said something like "they should be more schematically schematic" or something ridiculous like that. So then, we had about 150 posts relating to our own versions of similar statements. Oh, those were the good days ... sniff ... hold on I'm tearing up ... back when we thought we were going to have a great season.

ESPN did a video tour of the Texas facilities with Mack. Has to be some of the nicest anywhere. The State of Texas is flush with cash....an oil boom and their Ex-Gov as Pres. for 8 years has seen to that.

Recruiting for Texas? Just get them to the campus, send them down to 6th St. for some entertainment, show them the facilities and show them where to sign.

Went to the AU-Texas game in Austin in 91(?) as a guest. The Texas folks, who expected to win were great hosts, even when AU won.

Bring back T Franklin and let him hire his staff. We have to pay him anyway. and if you believe Tubbs is here only one more year, we can getboth off the payroll at the same time and save some money along the way.

You know with the tough times and all.

  123. Sounds like a good deal for Muschamp. I kinda thought he might start as a head coach at a bit lower tier school. This is a pretty big gamble for Texas, or a desperate attempt to keep him as DC. Either way, he gets rich.

Is it just coincedence that both of Saban's previous coordinator's from LSU now have the same deal? Do they have the same agent? That's a little odd.

  124. 28 turnovers, goodness sakes. I happened to watch this one. NC applied pressure, but not alot. It was not a bad beatdown, but North Carolina may have paid a price though injury wise. No love lost here for Roy Williams or NC.

  125. I still love dnatl's stuff about Franklin being a dry-rub guy. That was quality humor right there.

  126. I played on a high school team that had 30 turnovers at the half...so I don't think 28 for a game is a big deal.

  127. Played a Y game where we lost 59-5.

  128. Kentucky had just about as many turnovers as they did points in the first half. Give me a break...

Not sure Billy G. is the answer for UK. I hate to get on coaches too much to early, but this is looking remarkably like last year.

Jay, I was thinking about the ethernet shut down at the pressbox Saturday. Do you think it was the AU facility guy doing his version of turning on the sprinkler?

You never know if they wanted you out because of how popular this blog has become. One the Hotties will rule the world.

    AUWADE,

    Good point.

Both of Tuberville's former OCs have the same deal as well.

    Hmm...

Monica-I quite listening to him in January also along with Finebaum. Now I just catch about 30 miuntes of the lunch bunch show. Not sure of the goofs on it, but I think one is J Moon.
Life is much more pleasant when you do not listen to those that are constantly playing with their CNS action figure doll.

Hey you could listen to Rick and Bubba Thursday as they will be at AU for the Turkey toss.
I mention them becaue you mentioned Rick Burgess's son a couple of days ago. and they are funny a lot of the times.

  135. I think they shut down the ethernet Saturday because it was the last home game of the year. To an IT guy who knows nothing about how sporting events work, it makes sense to shut things down after the game.

    Reporters ... not happy.

Like I said, it was time to go, so let's 'turn the sprinkler on the press box' to get'em out. :)

  138. I received it, but I still don't understand why I'd need a flight itinerary to Kiev. Is that some kind of joke? I didn't laugh. It's just a hat.

Bear with him. Tim's done a lot for us, and he's earned a chance to make it right.

  140. dnatl, a few thoughts after reading your comments on CTT and coordinators. The "Nallsminger" has to be one of the all-time disasters of OC even though neither was technically "the guy." Petrino was a good hire, but left after one season for HC job(no blame to Tubs for that one). But while Petrino was here, he had one of the most talented offensive teams in AU history. His offense here, while much improved from Mazonne(sp?)was nowhere near the level he has shown consistently at numerous other jobs. Add that in with Franklin's comments about the hiring process and the way he was treated by CTT and staff and I just don't see the faith in CTT making a good OC and assistant coach hire. If he stays I will hope for the best and be proud if it does work, but I think the record is iffy of that happening.
