Hey everyone. We're having an involved discussion of the Texas Tech-Oklahoma State game, its ramifications on the national scene, other college games ... and some talk about Auburn, too.
Come join in the fun.

I knew he couldn't take it. Neat Freak :)!
ReplyDeleteCouldn't we all just rebel and still comment on the other post? ;-)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jay G.
ReplyDeleteKristina is plotting. I like it.
ReplyDeleteOne day, when I'm having insomnia, I"m going to post by myself until I get it to 400. Then I will feel better.
ReplyDeleteThe perfect 300 escapes us.
ReplyDeleteNo Kristina, Jay is our lord and sovreign and we must obey him on pain of death.....
ReplyDeleteI like the Mike Gundy kind of fire.
ReplyDeleteMon was right earlier. We need that at AU.
Not Muschamp nuclear meltdown, but a little fire would be nice.
It's like a first down ... ahhh.
ReplyDeleteA new thread.
Yeah, surely we can just stay up later than Jay?
ReplyDeletewe could Kristina, but we are conformist. Doesn't count as much if it's not the current thread.
ReplyDeleteTuberville is a lame duck coach. The interviews last week were proof of that.
ReplyDeleteYes We Can!
ReplyDeleteJay G..we were talking about ice cream since CTT said Auburn was vanilla today. I like vanilla floats with coca cola or better yet
ReplyDeletea late one
http://ale8one.com/
What interviews, Tim?
ReplyDeleteWe will have to plot independently without Jay to catch him off guard in order to hit 400. It is our mission and his goal to stop.
ReplyDeleteThe challenge has been laid down.
Tim...I'm not even going here tonight man.
ReplyDeleteThese two teams have put up as much offense in a half as we put up in a game today against a I-AA team.
Lame duck. Dead duck.
ReplyDeleteRoast duck. Daffy Duck.
Don't matter. Outta luck.
Kristina.....someone would just rat us out to Jay G....and you know,...he would get kinda peeved...
ReplyDeleteabsolutely no sense of urgency from CTT....acts like he could care less.
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteMike Gundy's hair looks like Cameron Diaz's hair from "Something About Mary".
ReplyDeleteI like this facebook status of a friend of mine-she is married to a penn stat grad:
ReplyDelete"Lori is comforting her Nittany Lion with watermelon margaritas."
I'm headed back to the Gump ... with a short stop into Bar 51 to see former fellow beat hack Collin Mickle. He's in town tonight.
ReplyDeleteI'll check back once I arrive at the hizzle.
See ya.
And Mike Leach's facial expression reminds me of the zipper incident of same movie.
ReplyDeleteWith the loss today, Tennessee will not be bowl eligible. Incredible. They still play Vandy and Kentucky and could conceivably lose those two also. Imagine, Fulmer may have already had his last win at UT. Simply incredible.
ReplyDeleteHave a good one, Jay G.
ReplyDeleteJay G. looks like a totall goob
ReplyDeleteSafe Trip Jay.
ReplyDeleteSo Jay will be out of pocket...
ReplyDeleteHERE'S OUR CHANCE FOLKS
Or is he setting us up? Mmmmm. He's clever that Jay G. Tate.
It has taken me this long to get caught up, Mr and I had to work today, so we are behind and then all the talk of ice cream made me need a good old fashion blizzard from DQ. I hope that the game was not as depressing as it seems reading through the blog and quotes. Also, I agree we need the fire back. I really wish we cared more about offense than having a deffensive battle every week.
ReplyDeleteTim / Anon- At least he has audacity to show himself unlike you. Go somewhere else. We don't tolerate personal attacks here.
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone think that Paterno knew his team lost today?
ReplyDeleteALright if we get started now we can post over 400....
ReplyDeleteMrs Frontrim,
ReplyDeleteI was there. It was more depressing than you can imagine. But blizzards are yummy!
Ok guys I am back...Rest assured that I am not guilty of PUI...Posting under the influence....
ReplyDeleteHow full was the stadium throughout the day?
ReplyDeleteDip Cones!!!
ReplyDeletethink
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure Paterno knows what year it is.
ReplyDeleteWhen I see Paterno I think Weekend at Bernies.
ReplyDeletewe
ReplyDeletecan
ReplyDeleteHave fun, Faker? and LOL@PUI
ReplyDeleteAU MUST get rid of Emsinger...the guy has no clue.
ReplyDeleteWE
ReplyDeleteI've never had the Knob Creek, FSJ. How is it and what's it compare to?
ReplyDeleteCAN
ReplyDeleteGET
ReplyDeleteTO
ReplyDelete400
ReplyDeleteI was too busy saving the lives of all the bama fans from heart attacks to even hear the game but it really did appear to be a sad day in AU football.
ReplyDeleteIt was fuller than I thought it would be for a homecoming game when we have sucked. But that doesn't really mean much. The students left at halftime. We left in the 3rd quarter which we NEVER do.
ReplyDeleteMonica, your new avatar is Ausome.
ReplyDeleteAs for today's game, it was just like the MSU game. You walk away in a daze feeling like we lost.
Mr. S Knob Creek does not compare to anything it is so much better, so smooth
ReplyDeleteStudents leave at half time of every non-conference game that involves a no name. I guess it's never too early to start drinking again.
ReplyDeleteHmm...I may have to try that.
ReplyDeleteAt least in the MSU game you could think "Hey our defense is AWESOME"
ReplyDeleteI've never seen such a lame crowd at Jordan-Hare for homecoming.
ReplyDeleteKornhiser - put your friggin socks back on
ReplyDeleteWhat is Knob Creek?
ReplyDeleteThe Mr and I have been talking aobut new young coaches that AU can pay if we decide to get rid of CTT, and he likes Turner
ReplyDeleteGill. I am just not sure if he will fit in, any thoughts?
Kristina, very good point. I went away feeling that Dunn is generous. Is that the same thing?
ReplyDeleteThanks, Steve!
ReplyDeleteChris,
ReplyDeleteLong time no post. Been reading your stuff on AUC though.
Eddie it is great Bourbon
ReplyDeleteMrsfrontrim- I believ that Turner Gill is an excellent coach, but I believe he is not suited well for the South. I believe his next gig is Syracuse since Nebraska passed on him last year.
ReplyDeleteTurner Gill was a QB at Nebraska. Now, I know that Nebraska isn't Nebraska anymore, but I still can't love them. Gill makes me think to much about Nebraska.
ReplyDeletejay will Banhammer
ReplyDeleteI love how the announcers are talking up the Heisman for someone in their game -- Harrell, Tebow,
ReplyDeleteChase Daniel, Tim Hawthorne -- oops, strike that last one.
Well I guess I could use some Knob Creek. But I prefer Cabo Wabo.
ReplyDeleteeveryone who leaves multiple posts
ReplyDeletecan he Banhammer everyone?
ReplyDeleteI'd bet AUC doesn't make it to next season....PM locked that site up way too soon. It's dead now.
ReplyDeleteSyracuse & Tennessee
ReplyDeleteLovers of the orange
Unbelievably mediocre.
Chris ... I thinking more of a plastic bag over his head
ReplyDeleteretswerb mit
ReplyDeleteBuffett's Tequila is good as well.
ReplyDeleteWill Vandy win a 6th game to become bowl eligible? After being 5-0, it has been all downhill. Best chance is obviously Tennessee, but I bet UT pulls it out.
ReplyDeleteHe wouldn't do that. Maybe I should take his administartor position away on facebook before he kicks us all out. JUST KIDDING
ReplyDeleteFlorida/Bama = very interesting game
ReplyDeleteguys I don't want to sound like a bourbon snob,,,but knob creek and makers mark have been over marketed and are not that great.
ReplyDeleteCorner Creek Four Roses Single Barrel Blanton's Single Barrel
Pappy Van Winkle's Family Reserve 20 Year (Would have been first, but it is never in stock anywhere). Woodford Reserve is an excellent bourbon as well
from what I have seen, Harrell deserves H-man trophy. escapability, accuracy, brains, vision, feels the pressure in the pocket, field awareness; no this is not a man-crush, more of amazement of being a great QB. Well, he has been starting for 3 years.
ReplyDeleteBuffet's is not bad. Patrone (sp) is pretty good also.
ReplyDeletewhy are we spelling sdrawkcab, acinoM?
ReplyDeleteAll of that beats George Dickel, ehh Denny?
ReplyDeleteFolks, listen to Denny. He majored in Pre-Bourbon!
ReplyDeleteBear- IF that is the case, he would have a bunch of one time wonders posting since that is all you could do is post one time.
ReplyDeleteDenny Crum - Doesn't sound like a bourbon snob one bit.
ReplyDeletewith a stick and broom Dickel as you well know is not a bourbon,,,it is tennessee whiskey
ReplyDeleteSauza's Tres Generaciones Añejo (Three Generations)tequila - sweet mama, smooth, tequila you can sip and I'm not a drinker - discovered it on a trip to Santa Fe.
ReplyDeleteI'm taking Denny on his advice and vote to make him resident Bourbon expert on HABOTN
ReplyDeleteWe are a long way from 400 peeps.
ReplyDeleteCan someone here just tell me what 'Lost' is all about so I can keep up with the watercooler talk?
ReplyDeleteOh, and those 'Twilight' books as well.
I second the motion
ReplyDeleteI know, Denny. I was trying to think of the worst tasting thing I had ever had.
ReplyDeleteI second the Denny motion.
ReplyDeleteI am proud to say I do not watch Lost so I'm useless to you,Mr. S.
Lost is about the 2008 AU football season.
ReplyDeleteTwilight is about TT's coaching career
2nd the motion of Denny being the resident bourbon expert.
ReplyDeleteThey should play some Buddy Holly being in Lubbock and all.
ReplyDeleteI have tried single malt scotch, but it doesn't have the body of a good bourbon.. Corner Creek is my favorite. Eagle Rare is another good bourbon if you can find it. A lot of good bourbon is not shipped out of Kentucky.
ReplyDeleteNice answer Jet
ReplyDeleteTherefore, I bring back my bourbon from KY. Another thing...The state of Alabama should get out of the liquor store business.
ReplyDeleteAt this pace we have a chance to reach 400.
ReplyDeleteSensi- lost was a show about plane crash survivors who did a "Cast Away"/Survivor thing for 2 seasons, then found a bunker with food, water, beds, baths, etc. then they started killing each other and other people
ReplyDeleteGot to crank up the Lear ... not heading to Minneapolis, sorry Monica.
ReplyDeleteGet to 400 ... I believe in Auburn ... and I believe in You.
Not a fan of the ABC selections, Denny?
ReplyDeletefumble OK ST
ReplyDeleteTiger Package- They have the most memorable Radio ads ever. I can hum the Tiger Package song in my sleep.
ReplyDeleteKnob Creek is my favorite bourbon at this time, although I do like Maker's Mark too.
ReplyDeleteKnob Creek is made by the Jim Beam company, but it is their mid range bourbon (i.e. more expensive than Jim Beam, but less expensive than Bookers, which is good too but stout).
I highly recommend it.
no selection...and 25 to 40 per cent more expensive...and they hit you with sales tax on top of that.
ReplyDeleteSince we are discussing the national scene...Notre Dame might lose to Jeff Davis HS this year. They are not competitive with anyone who has practiced atleast twice.
ReplyDeleteThanks FSJ
ReplyDeleteI wonder how AU would handle Notre Dame.
ReplyDeleteWhy does 28pts for TT look so easy before the half? Their receivers are phenomenal!!
ReplyDeleteThat's ok, Faker. I'll go pick up Coach Brewster muhdamnself.
ReplyDeleteI would take ND in an Au matchup.
ReplyDeleteI found Knob Creek to be a disappointment. Makers Mark is far superior. Woodford Reserve is the better of the three. I mention those because those are some that can be found in Alabama. At least until Emory Folmer changes his mind.
ReplyDeleteFree Market the state should be out of the liquor store business. We aren't completely socialist ...yet
twilight is Interview with a Vampire for teenage girls
ReplyDeleteI really don't understand the hype with Tim Brewster. He was 1-11 last year and this year has won a few games but still hasn't overly impressed me.
ReplyDeleteAu1n04,
ReplyDeleteWhen Texas Tech hits 28, they are just getting started.
When AU hits 28, it's either the very end of the game or the beginning of Fonz offense*.
*Fonz offense - sitting on it
Odds on the next two games... UGA & Bama by 20+
ReplyDeleteI don't think one person on HABOTN making over Coach Brewster does hype make. Just lil ole me. :-) And my love remains true.
ReplyDeleteWhat a move by Crabtree. He makes it look easy.
ReplyDeleteTim are those real odds or your guess?
ReplyDeleteI have to agree.
ReplyDeleteI don't think you should run up the score..,,but you got to keep it up to give the team that killer instinct.
Any chance Clemson would be intersted in our HC + staff??
ReplyDeleteWho wins. Tex Tech or Alabama
ReplyDeleteI don't think Tubs will coach anywhere else.
ReplyDeletewe're almost to 150 people. Jay Jay not gonna be happy :(
ReplyDeleteWhat...we're like 110th offense in the country and not even close to the top 25 on defense....I'd say pretty much any team in the country could beat Auburn at this point.
ReplyDeleteDenny:
ReplyDeleteThat's the great thing about bourbon...Everybody that partakes has their favorites. All three you mentioned are far superior to Jack Daniels. I don't dip into the stash often, just on special occasions. Tonight certainly qualifies.
While we're talking about HS teams. I know that this week we'll hear, Yall beat a HS team. So what? Who cares that Tennessee Martin may play at a level closely related with Powder Puff Sorority Leagues. At this point I would take an AU win over the 6-7 year old cheerleaders from the worst YMCA football team in Montgomery as a step in the right direction.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Mia Hamm:
ReplyDelete“You can't just beat a team, you have to leave a lasting impression in their minds so they never want to see you again”
Before anybody mentions it, I am aware that Jack Daniels is not a bourbon. It is a Tennessee Whiskey.
ReplyDeleteToo sweet for my tastes.
prediction= FL beats Bama by 17 in Atl, and Bama plays Utah in Sugar Bowl. TTech vs, FL in NC game, prep the lights on the scoreboard, and Def. Coords, prep your resumes.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you biscuitator.
ReplyDeletefaker,
ReplyDeleteAs you well know,,Jack Daniels is not a bourbon, but rather a harsh Tennessee whiskey
I guess Auburn didn't look to hot today judging by some of the comments.
ReplyDeleteWhat went wrong? Scoring 37 points has to be a boost for the offense, no?
When you get old like me, biscuit, you won't give a *&^% what other people say and you won't have to think of responses.
ReplyDeleteDid I miss Jay's updated percentage?
ReplyDeleteI knew it Denny! LOL.
ReplyDeleteLook a couple of posts above yours. I addressed the JD thing...
I am a day late and a dollar short.
ReplyDeletecome on people pick up the pace.
ReplyDeleteFake Steve this is for you.
ReplyDeleteI remember having a conversation this summer with a Bama fan friend and I said that Auburn had a great backfield anyone would want.
I was so very wrong. I'm pretty sure a lot of teams would like a Coffee/Ingram duo these days.
FSJ and Denny- Co-Bourbon Authorities on HABOTN. Jay needs an accolade section to this blog, and that should be listed. This info could come in very handy at Christmas time.
ReplyDeleteNo, faker. The score is not a good indication of the game. We stunk. And I'm the over optimistic one around here. Not any more!
ReplyDeletebear:
ReplyDeleteAssuming Alabama wins the next two, the SEC Championship game vs. Florida is the de facto BCS winner.
I'll take the SEC Champ (with a month to prepare for any of the other possible teams) any day of the week.
LETS
ReplyDeleteMon I really doubt that you get heckled that much in WV...
ReplyDeleteAnyways, I don't care who says what, what they say, or why they think they need to say it. It's that old saying that my dad always told me about opinions and bodily orifices...

ReplyDeleteOSU is moving that ball. We are not even halfway there to 400
ReplyDeleteThe game was still in question in the 4th so ya....not good. Burns has much potential but needs a real coach to achieve it.
ReplyDelete18 point game now. Still worth watching.
ReplyDeleteBiscuit - We were heckled alot in WVU
ReplyDeleteYeah we need to pick up the pace gang.
ReplyDeleteMr. Sensible:
ReplyDeleteAdd Upchurch to that list too. He may turn out to be the best of the bunch. He got a shoulder stinger on ST early in the game and they held him out as a precaution. .
The most telling thing to me is that last year's starter at RB is now fourth string.
yeah, biscuit cuz Auburn never plays anyone in West Virginia and since moving here I cut off all contact with people from the state of Alabama.
ReplyDeleteI love the Apple Commercials. They never get old.
ReplyDeletefowl odors was part of that saying as well
ReplyDeleterecently tried scotch, single malt. not impressed with it at all. tried the McCellen 18 (sp?). guess i could go back to the old college standby, Everclear.
ReplyDeleteThank you Eddie..They were my idea... :-)
ReplyDeleteWhen I think of West by God Virginia...I think of the Dancin' Outlaw...Jesco White....
ReplyDeleteeverclear! gah! I must now go vomit in remeberance of college
ReplyDeleteI forgot FSJ- Can you send me my Fake Ipod Touch free of charge :)
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to be humble.
ReplyDeleteare we throwing out random topics tonite as well as Auburn stuff?
ReplyDeleteI still can't spell
ReplyDeleteMissed kick.
ReplyDeleteWhat's the score of the FL game?
ReplyDeleteJesco White - now I must go vomit
ReplyDeleteEverclear is nasty. How about some goldshlager.
ReplyDeleteI know. Though the way slashers burn up Auburn's defense, I figure that Terry Grant will play in the Iron Bowl. LOL
ReplyDeleteI am trying to ask a lot of questions. Is that ok?
ReplyDeleteLet's play a game...
ReplyDeleteI say a word and you say the first thing that pops into your head
Tuberville
Must get to 400
ReplyDeleteWe are talking about Auburn and vomit in the same thread. I think that is pretty much on topic.
ReplyDeleteflorida 42
ReplyDeleteVandy 7

ReplyDeletebear:
ReplyDeleteI'm not a scotch fan either.
I'm definately not a tequila guy. BAAAAADDD stuff in my single days.
It's one thing to go after gals in their hey days....On tequila, I was going after the ones in their "Hey Hey Hey" Days! Thankfully those days are in the past!
Those guys drop nothing. I have seen one drop
ReplyDeleteMon dont take what I was saying the wrong way. All I was saying was that it's probably easier to not let what people say get to you in a place like WV or even Auburn than it is in a place where there are as many Bammers or fans from other schools that want to see you lose and rub your nose in it when that happens. I know that this year has been a struggle to be an AU fan for every AU fan no matter where you are. I bet that guy sitting on the plane in the AU commercial who hasn't seen any sign of life even gets heckled by the bears and the fishes...
ReplyDeleteKritina- 2004

ReplyDeleteHey new page!
ReplyDeleteTTech has more completions and big plays on 1 drive than we do in a half, or a game. sad, sad, sad, with basically the same OL and rBs from last year. come back Brandon Cox.
ReplyDelete
