We're discussing the second quarter of Auburn's game at Alabama.
- Auburn's third possession: Not much happening there. Mario Fannin converted a third down with a nice screen catch-and-run play, but that was the lone Auburn highlight. 7 plays, 21 yards. (started at 14:53, AUB 24)
- Alabama's third possession: Glen Coffee 41-yard TD run. Auburn had Alabama held at 3rd-and-11. John Parker Wilson hit Julio Jones on an out route, earned the first down and Coffee scored on the next play. 4 plays, 65 yards. (started at 12:06, ALA 35)
- Auburn's fourth possession: Not much going on. Burns lost his mechanics on a poor second-down pass. Alabama blitzed on third down and Burns couldn't find anyone available. (started at 10:21, AUB 24)
- Alabama's fourth possession: They were making progress. Jerraud Powers made a "nice play" on Julio Jones during a third-down pass. Powers arrived a bit early. No penalty was called. (started at 8:42, ALA 38)
- Auburn's fifth possession: Three and out. Kodi Burns can't pass. He has lost his mechanics and touch. He's also being pressured. (started at 6:09, AUB 19)
- Alabama's fifth possession: Three and out. (started at 4:25, ALA 31)
- Auburn's sixth possession: Ends with a blocked field goal. Morgan Hull was attempting the first kick of his career. (started at 2:27, AUB 28)
Come on Offense. We need you.
ReplyDeleteJames Swinton makes an appearance
ReplyDeletePass Interferense. BS
ReplyDeleteI don't care if Mario can block or not, keep him in the game
ReplyDeleteMario came to play.
ReplyDeleteTake Rod Smith out. He stinks.
ReplyDeleteSmith seems to be on freeze lock today.
ReplyDeletePunt to live
In the Punt to Live strategy, I believe you must actually PUNT THE DANG BALL.
ReplyDeleteIf this was our idea of starting fast, I hate to see how we end.
ReplyDeleteThere should have have been pass interference on that one pass.
ReplyDeleteTerrible punt.
We can't have special teams breakdowns.
Don't expect any help from the refs. The SEC want #1 and #2 in the championship game next week.
ReplyDeleteI'm still not over that blown pass interference call.
ReplyDeleteWow...bama gets a call while we get hosed on the last drive.
ReplyDeleteuh.. can we please cover JJ?
ReplyDeleteTerrible defensive coverage there. Just Terrible.
ReplyDeleteCrap. This game is going horribly wrong right now.
ReplyDeleteand that first down is 100% coaching
ReplyDeleteWe MUST answer that score.
ReplyDeleteTwas bound to happen
ReplyDeleteI hate to be overly negative, but that's game.
ReplyDeleteWAAAAAA
ReplyDeleteOK after that, we CANNOT go 3 & out and give them the ball back within 3-4 minutes
ReplyDeleteYep gotta answer. NOW
ReplyDeleteI really felt good about today, but not anymore. I have zero confidence we can come back from 10 down. Please prove me wrong.
ReplyDeleteUnless we answer, and I haven't seen anything from this offense that says we can, that play was it.
ReplyDeleteCan we please just go for broke here and let the ball fly?
ReplyDeleteLet's see if the guys respond or pack it in
ReplyDeleteI think Gary Danielson was crying he was so happy UAT scored
ReplyDeleteI just don't see this defense being what a lot of AU fans think. I know there is no offensive support, but you can't blame it all on that can you? The rush defense has just fallen apart.
ReplyDeleteThe D looked great early in the year against teams that turned out to not have an offensive pulse.
ReplyDeleteSomeone on defense seems to be misaligned on every play which concerns me at the end of the season.
ReplyDeleteKodi throws the worlds longest spike again.
ReplyDeleteC'mon air it out
ReplyDeleteLoss of 14
ReplyDeleteballgame?
ReplyDeleteWell it'll probably be 17-0 soon.
ReplyDeleteZiemba better stop that crap.
ReplyDeleteThis team is packing it in folks. It's getting ready to get ugly.
I just can't believe it.
No Flag there?
ReplyDeletehow can that not be a flag on hitting the punter?
ReplyDeleteand how did Kodi hold on to that ball?
I have an idea. How about Gary Danielson shuts the hell up.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like the nervous Burns has returned...
ReplyDeleteGiven two weeks to prepare, Saban vs Tuberville?
if they dont stop UAT in 3 or 4 plays this drive, i fear Eddie may be correct
ReplyDeleteCan you call it a drive if you go backwards?
ReplyDeleteWow. Just unreal.
ReplyDeleteThe defense has to step it up.
Good thing I am a happy drunk
ReplyDeleteWhat did Ziemba have to do with that?
ReplyDeleteHe blocked his man on that play.
Kodi's gotta step up
ReplyDeleteWe need a 3 & out or a turnover or it's over.
ReplyDeleteSomeone needs to hit Sarah Jessica Parker in the mouth.
ReplyDeleteHe hasn't taken a shot all afternoon..
I REALLY HATE ALABAMA!!!!
ReplyDeleteCCR I guess you and I are the only ones with a question on the no call on hitting the punter.
ReplyDeleteLet's get a turnover here.
ReplyDeleteIf we don't get pressure on Wilson..
ReplyDeleteWe're toast.
I volunteer to smack Sara Jessica and then I'll move on to Gary Danielsen.
ReplyDeleteIs that Coffee or Shaun Alexander?
ReplyDeleteThe hit on the punter was a lot of acting by Durst...plus that would just make it 4th and 19 and we'd punt again.
ReplyDeleteIM4AU, I agree but it seems everyone gives Rhoads a pass given the offensive non-performance. Everyone talks of how technically sound we are on defense, but I just don't see it. This season has been a disaster in all aspects of the team, not just one.
ReplyDeletesimple but effective
ReplyDeleteGo Gators.
ReplyDeleteAll I'm saying...
We need a big sack here...
ReplyDeleteI mean I guess I don't understand the rule, but he gets the punt off cleanly and then is touched then it is a penalty?
ReplyDeleteGary and Verne are going to need a cigarette soon.
ReplyDeleteRK- Ziemba pushed a bama guy in the back after the play. I hate that crap.
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteWell once again recruiting for speed on defense kills us on cutbacks.
ReplyDeleteAnd a napkin, Mon
ReplyDeleteA penalty against Alabama, no way!
ReplyDeleteI read where rhoads was actively seeking the utah job. does that mean he's trying to get outta here?
ReplyDeletethey wouldnt have stopped the play morons
ReplyDeleteFinally something of a break
ReplyDeleteTez Doolittle..
ReplyDeleteStep it up, big guy.
Don't let this be your last game...
It's Utah State and they want him, not sure he wants them.
ReplyDeleteHuge stop.
ReplyDeleteWe should have had a pass interference call there
ReplyDeleteRiggins just on the radio talking about the misalignment of the defense through the 1st half.
ReplyDeletewhewwww
ReplyDeleteGive the turf monster a tackle on that punt
ReplyDeletethat was a good play by powers
ReplyDeleteI know our offense has sucked all year, but our D hasn't looked all that great either. I love me some defense, so I've really been disappointed.
ReplyDeletecoverage and blocking so bad Dunn would rather slide than run
ReplyDeleteIf we can just keep them from scoring again this half...then we're still in decent shape.
ReplyDeleteIf we can also put SOMETHING on the board...EVEN BETTER.
The D never shows anything different to disguise what they are doing.
ReplyDeleteWe just run a base D pretty much and it all falls on the players to execute properly.
Auburn needs to move this ball right now.
ReplyDeleteI think it'll slip away RIGHT NOW if something doesn't change RIGHT NOW. Alabama has done its work and it's on the verge of taking control.
14 rushing yards so far
ReplyDeletenot good
We need some points
ReplyDeleteGuys..
ReplyDeleteSeriously,
If we can get into the locker room only down by ten against the #1 team in the country..ON THEIR TURF..then we're still okay..
Keep your fingers crossed.
If the back or TE is to the right, run is to the right.
ReplyDeleteSlip Sliding Away...Paul Simon sums up the season.
ReplyDeleteWe can't start past the 20. We really need better field position.
ReplyDeleteCan we please put Fannin in the game?
ReplyDeleteAnd what was that?
ReplyDeleteHey, a hit in the backfield. I would would have expected that.
ReplyDeleteHow do you figure Reynolds. They are dominating all across the board right now.
ReplyDeleteSorry guys...
ReplyDeleteWhat good would that completion have done 7 yds in front of the first down!?!
ReplyDeleteDo we ever know where the 1st down marker is on 3rd down????
ReplyDeleteEver???
Good gosh almighty..
ReplyDeleteThis looks like Preseason Kodi. NOT GOOD. He looks like a scared baby.
ReplyDeleteGuys, this is going downhill uber fast
ReplyDelete17-0 will lead to 42-0 at end.
ReplyDeleteIn the past 3 years, on any third down we've almost always thrown in front of the marker.
ReplyDelete45 total yards so far to Alabama's 160
We are not only being outplayed here, we are being thoroughly outcoached as well.
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing "performance anxiety" Kodi has returned at this point?
ReplyDeleteIt looks like preseason Kodi.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely, Eddie.
good god i hope he didnt just say "hotlanta"
ReplyDeleteI can't believe we're only down 10.
ReplyDeleteI hope Percy Harvin will be better for the SEC Championship game.
ReplyDeleteEddie..
ReplyDeleteMy strategy is simple (and pathetic).
Keep them from scoring here and hope they make a lot of mistakes in the 2nd half.
I mean, what other option could there be?
By the way, I'm about to make a phonecall back to 2004/2005..and see if I can find our offense...
Well when you give Tuberville and Saban 2 weeks to prepare, who do you think will win that preparation battle?
ReplyDeleteWe need to let Quentin Riggins and Stan White call the plays in the 2nd half! They said UA are bringing up 8 to the line right before the snap. They need to run left long and right long and throw it deep. They think we could get a big play.
ReplyDeleteIs CBS in love with those two blonde twins who were houndstooth hats? they show them all the time every week
ReplyDeleteDown he goes
ReplyDeleteI would seriously give Neil Caudle a shot. Anything is better than what we are doing on offense.
ReplyDeleteWhen they take Coffee out we do well.
ReplyDeletetimeout, tuberville?
ReplyDeleteAC tawlkin smack to Sara Jessica!wooo hooo
ReplyDeleteWell can we make something happen with 2:19 to go in the half?
ReplyDeleteok lets dive down and get a FG or at least keep the ball until the half runs out
ReplyDeleteBear- Those two blode twins have a billboard ad on I-65 above decatur. I couldn't believe it when I saw it Wednesday.
ReplyDeleteMaybe Caudle will play 2nd half! We never do anything in the 2nd half anyway, so this would be a good change of pace.
ReplyDeleteHow about something for hitting a QB while he is in his slide?
ReplyDeleteA first down!!!
ReplyDeleteaccording to these announcers, auburn is incapable of doing ANYTHING good. alabama only blows it.
ReplyDeleteWow, a 1st down and a Brad Lester spotting.
ReplyDeleteand why haven't we used Lester more?????
ReplyDeleteDo I smell smoke?
ReplyDeletenote to CBS fire these guys after this game!!
ReplyDeleteWAR EAGLE!
BEAT BAMA!
Well that 3 yard sideline route does us a lot of good.
ReplyDeleteThrow the ball further than 3 yards!
ReplyDeletei didn't realize arenas was so short
ReplyDeletehell yeah
ReplyDeleteI hate CBS. Lat year's dancing at the Georgia game made me sick. How unprofessional.
ReplyDeleteDo I see fire?
ReplyDeleteGo Kodi, I love his running game.
ReplyDeleteanother first down!
ReplyDeleteThe hurry up catches them off guard.
ReplyDeletemy heart is beating too fast
ReplyDeletewhy has kodi not run the whole half until now?
ReplyDeleteBoy Saban is disgusted. We have got to score.
ReplyDeletei like that quick huddle when it works
ReplyDeleteWe need SOMETHING out of this.
ReplyDeleteA touchdown.
A field goal.
Hell, even a safety on Bama (if possible)..
Oh my, this reminds me of the last drive of the Georgia game. We are really due something good to happen.
ReplyDeleteWe need to score.
ReplyDeleteCotton - We've been lulling them into a false sense of security.
ReplyDeleteWhy not run hurry-up all the time?
ReplyDeleteTime to make a play.
ReplyDeleteKodi kills me the way he carries that ball when he takes off! Makes me so nervous!
ReplyDeleteFell down.
ReplyDeleteClock is ticking
ReplyDeleteI love our red zone scoring percentage.
ReplyDeleteHurry up
ReplyDeleteKodi guns it so hard # 87's now decapitated
ReplyDeleteUmmmm time out?
ReplyDeleteWhat the hay
ReplyDeletethere goes 10 seconds deciding what to do and then run it ARRRRRGHHHHHHHH
ReplyDeleteLast time out
ReplyDeleteWow, we are horrible.
ReplyDeleteWho called these plays?
Always settling for Field Goals. Good Grief.
ReplyDeleteMorgan Hull, no pressure
ReplyDeleteLooks like this'll be Morgan Hull.
ReplyDelete2nd and 7, we throw a 3 yard pass that could only end in bounds...then we run the ball up the gut on a team who's strength is up the middle.
ReplyDeleteAt least we didn't get to the redzone to make those stats worse.
COACHING?
ReplyDeleteJay G ... is right ...
ReplyDeletehurry it up ... Lester ... Fannin no Tate
Dear Morgan Hull,
ReplyDeleteMy name is Reynolds Wolf.
I want to be your friend.
Please make this field goal and I will be your BFF.
Your pal,
Reynolds
Of course, Hull with all of his experience.
ReplyDeleteMorgan Hull - You could be my new best friend.
ReplyDeleteMORGAN HULL!!!!
ReplyDeleteDANGIT!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteGIVE ME A BREAK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteHATE
ReplyDeleteI REALLY HATE NICK SABAN.
ReplyDeleteaW. ... CRAP
ReplyDeleteHopefully that was just a practice shot and we do the exact same thing on the one that counts.
ReplyDeleteBad clock management at the end
ReplyDeletemonica- Lulling them into a false sense of security? ...
ReplyDeleteIs that what this whole season has been?
Field Goal GOOD!
MORGAN HULL! MORGAN HULL!!
Ah, damn nick saban. damn him.
2nd field goal is... blocked.
!@#$%^&@#$^%!^!$**!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
GOD DANG IT!!!!!!
ReplyDeletehate that rule ... hate it.
ReplyDeleteHate Hate Hate Hate Hate Hate Hate
ReplyDeleteHATE SABAN. HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE
ReplyDeleteWell that was good coaching on Nick Saban's part.
ReplyDeleteWe are effed
ReplyDeleteI think Alabama's offense is so stinkin' predictable ...
ReplyDeletePlayed well enough on defense to win. We just didn't do anything on offense.
ReplyDeleteNo duh Tubs
Cotton - yes...
ReplyDeleteI hope we can make them pay for that. Let's go Gators. I will be pulling for Florida and anybody else that Nick Saban is playing against.
ReplyDeleteWrong.
ReplyDeleteWe come out pissed in the 2nd half.
I want whatever drugs Tubs is taking. Please give me the same thing.
ReplyDelete... ARRRGGGHHHHHHHH....
ReplyDeleteEverytime they cut to the redneck delirious bammer fans, my blood boils. Their joy is my pain.
We are NOT screwed.
ReplyDeleteWe have a whole half to play.
We'll get after Sarah Jessica.
And make Bama hurt..
chris evans and zach etheridge couldn't be more out of position unless they were wearing red jerseys.
ReplyDeleteHate bammer! Hate Saban! Hate the timeout!
ReplyDeleteI think Tim Brando gets paid every time he says the word Quagmire
ReplyDeleteHow can a major-conference winning program be so totally inept on offense? I really think we play for a field-goal to keep from being shut-out. That's more embarassing than actually being shut-out.
ReplyDeleteOur hope to go no huddle and go quickly.
ReplyDeleteWe'll have to sell our on D.
It's simple.
We've got to make our own breaks.
Depressed ... I agree with you about Rhoads ... we've got horrible angles.
ReplyDeleteI hate to say it because it's not popular, but the announcers are making fun of us,and we're making it easy the way we play.
Sonic, reminds me listening to the Miss-LSU game Danielson was talking of Ole Miss defensive problems and he said "Kodi Burns passed for over 300 yards against this defense folks, Kodi Burns!" We have become a laughingstock and it makes me sick.
ReplyDelete
