We're discussing the third quarter of Auburn's game at Alabama.
- Alabama's first possession of the second half: Four and out.
- Auburn's first possession: Brad Lester loses the ball on the drive's second play. Alabama recovers.
- Alabama's second possession: Wilson to Nikita Stover for a 39-yard touchdown pass. Leigh Tiffin's PAT kick was blocked.
- Auburn's second possession: Ends on a fumble. Kodi Burns dropped a poor snap from Jason Bosley.
- Alabama's third possession: Mark Ingram 1 run. Auburn had Alabama held on a 3rd-and-14. Wilson hit Ingram on a short pass and the tailback turned that into a 27-yard gain.
- Auburn's third possession: Three and out. Nothing doing.
- Alabama's fourth possession: Ingram scores on a 15-yard run. It's getting ugly. All seven plays on that drive were runs. Alabama covered 50 yards. That's a wrap, kids.
- Auburn's fourth possession: Three and out. Nothing.
- Alabama's fifth possession: In progress.
No Lester.
ReplyDeleteOK guys. now we see if AU gives up or plays hard
ReplyDeleteWe need to leave Fannin in.
ReplyDeleteAgain, Mr.Lester, meet Mr.Metal Sideline seating location
ReplyDeleteI vote gives up. Please prove me wrong Auburn.
ReplyDeleteGeeeeeeeeez, that's a lot of punts
ReplyDeleteWho is this 27?
ReplyDeleteFannin isn't quitting.
ReplyDeleteoh my freggin god, now its over
ReplyDeleteSCREW IT AUBURN OFFENSE. YOU SUCK!!!
ReplyDeleteTwo drives
ReplyDeleteTwo fumbles
When it rains...
ReplyDeleteGive it up
ReplyDeleteMother of God.
ReplyDeleteI wonder what the Tubs watch will be after the game. I bet it is reinstated with this sorry performance.
ReplyDeleteI liked it better when our 1st drives of the 2nd half were 3 & outs
ReplyDeleteMy god, even a FG holder can complete a TD pass and we cannot
ReplyDeleteSen'Derrick ... can you kick a FG?
ReplyDeleteThe Defense is still fighting..
ReplyDeleteDefense has to create a play.
ReplyDeleteBout to get really ugly
ReplyDeleteyeah, look at that fighting D
ReplyDelete3rd & 14. pass for 27.. that is AU 2008 in a nutshell
ReplyDeleteThe Defense is throwing the towel in Reynolds. I disagree.
ReplyDeleteDanielson: "Only so long that a defense can hang in a football game."
ReplyDeleteYep. That moment passed at halftime.
Funny.
ReplyDeleteScreen passes NEVER work for us.
Funnier:
They ALWAYS work against us.
Of course that hold on Bynes helped a little.
ReplyDeleteDefense is about to create a play ... mayue ... Hello Dolly?
ReplyDeleteA screen pass, that makes it even worse.
ReplyDeletegotta feel bad for SMarks and Doolittle and AColeman they have to go out this way
ReplyDeleteRun it up Nick, so we can fire this loser TUBS!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteDang, Julio
ReplyDeleteNot Powers best game
ReplyDeleteNot to pile on Tommy, but Danielson nailed it ...
ReplyDeleteSome of them get it a little better than others.
I bet we see what I have always wanted Tubs to do to bama and that is step on the throat and not let us back up.
ReplyDeleteThe stupid thing is that 1 through 85 ... Alabama is not any better than we are.
ReplyDeleteonly a matter of time before 23-0. i hear the fat lady warming up and the fat guy coming onto the field
ReplyDeleteI don't care what anyone says, if this ends up something like 37-0 or so, Tub might not be around next year.
ReplyDeleteWell, that'll do it.
ReplyDeleteWar Eagle anyway!
Thanks for the memories. Good-bye 2008.
Ball game..
ReplyDeleteThey aren't better...they are just better coached, don't make mistakes and playing with confidence.
ReplyDeletesorry, 22-0. you are right. we never put our foot on someone's throat and finish them off
ReplyDeleteI told friends this week ... i hope this game doesn't drive the decision ... if they've decided to make a move and have someone ready, that's fine with me ... but if they are making a decision based on emotion, then that's bad news
ReplyDeleteLets predict the final score, I say 43-0.
ReplyDeleteif this gets to 45-0, we might get a croom like resignation.
ReplyDelete36-0
ReplyDelete3rd-and-14. Then 1st-and-10.
ReplyDeleteCan't do that.
Yeah Right, No way Tubs says goodbye to his buyout. He stays or is fired.
ReplyDeleteRemember when Brad Lester said we would win these games by a good amount?
ReplyDeleteWe'll he didn't touch the field vs UGA and was so scared of getting hit he layed the ball down in this game.
Not the legacy you want to leave a as a senior RB.
29-0
ReplyDeletethats just bad luck. This year just wasn't ours.
ReplyDeleteNothing is going right for us. NOT ONE FREAKING THING.
ReplyDeleteWe have the #@$%#43 luck ever
ReplyDeleteSeriously..has ANYONE ever seen a team this snakebit?
ReplyDeleteMario came to play at least. Along with SMarks, AC, Tez, and a few others. Hey, they played...just not well in terms of discipline and assignments.
ReplyDeleteWell that kickoff return sucked.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a lot of demons are going to be exercised today for Alabama.
run kodi... we are not even trying to win now....run kodi twice???
ReplyDeleteWe always beat them by 10 or less...when they beat us it's always ugly.
ReplyDeleteI don't care if we lose by 100.
ReplyDeleteWe need Tubs to stay.
if we punt, Arenas will most likely run it back for a TD
ReplyDeleteYou think that they are spying Kodi? I hope Ensminger / Nall and Knox are gone. NOT A FAN.
ReplyDeleteLundquist- 2 defenders on one WR does not qual man coverage.
ReplyDeleteMalpractice Moore
ReplyDeleteKodi has a very high release point again.
ReplyDeleteHe got his mechanics better for a couple of weeks, but oh well.
even a punt is scary....
ReplyDeleteGetting gashed
ReplyDeleteBama paid Saban SIX MILLION DOLLARS to win this game.
ReplyDeleteLooks like they got their $$$$$ worth.
I can almost guarantee Saban isn't going to do like Tub would do in this situation and sit on the lead.
ReplyDeleteReynolds ... I disagree ... we need new energy ... but I'm afraid we've entered a bad marketplace, so we're stuck with what we have ... which is someone who was a good coach 4 years ago who is getting out worked, out coached and embarrassed on national TV.
ReplyDeleteNo one can convince me that this team is playing hard. They have quit. This is embarrassing.
ReplyDeleteI apologize in advance for my rumblings, but I don't take this very well. I can stand losing, but losing like this is unacceptable.
Reynolds - They pay him the $$$$$$ to win and build a program.
ReplyDeleteI'd say he's well on his way.
I've said it all day.
ReplyDeleteYou give Saban and Tuberville two weeks to prepare for each other and see what you have. I'll take Saban every time.
I say can Rhoads. NOT A FAN.
ReplyDeleteBetter come up with something.
ReplyDeleteMost of these dudes are underclassmen for UAT.
They'll be back like the Terminator.
And not the sorry T3 or TV show
This may be enough to end Tuberville's reign. Seriously. This is a mess.
ReplyDeleteAgreed, Jay G.
ReplyDeleteI'm gonna step away from the computer for a while ...
ReplyDeleteSee ya, Tubs.
ReplyDeletewell, I hate that rammer jammer song just like everyone else, but after this performance, they really did beat the hell out of us.... you cannot convince me or others of anything else, or else you did not watch this game. WE HAVE QUIT... no passion or fire or desire...
ReplyDeleteCOACHING?
ReplyDeleteHey Sensible...
ReplyDeleteThe Terminator TV show wasn't that bad...
(trying to chat about ANYTHING other than this game)
Most of our guys are underclassman too, and boy what a bad taste this year should leave in their mouths.
ReplyDeleteJay- I could care less at this very minute if Tubs returns. This is a sorry piece of crap product he has produced today and all of this season. If it is, then he deserves it. I've had it.
ReplyDeleteWell save this game, Tubs' record against Saban was 4-2. He is completely overmatched in this game. There wasn't much he could do.
ReplyDeleteJay, updated % ? Any rumblings in pressbox? what are other saying, or is it just mostly shock?
ReplyDeleteour d can't generate turnovers...we lose
ReplyDeleteTerminator TV show - cheap knock off
ReplyDeleteJust like this mess
Eddie, you're going to have a lot of support for that position.
ReplyDeleteThis may the home run the Tubs haters wanted.
Two of Tub's 4 wins vs Saban were over him in the 1st year he was at LSU and Bama.
ReplyDeleteQ just stated that the LB's are out of position on every play.
Bear ... I'm trying to understand why my internet connection comes and goes.
ReplyDeleteCan't really assess the feeling around the press box yet.
It's time for a change. We had 2 weeks to get ready and have everything in order for this game and we look even worse than we have most of the year.
ReplyDeleteGood grief...everyone jumped on that
ReplyDeletenot ziemba!
ReplyDeleteour boys are lost, scared, don't care, ready for the season to end, non-inspired, god, the list could go on and on
ReplyDeleteI'm surprised Lester is in the game
ReplyDeleteHope Lester makes the most of his degree
ReplyDeleteI just don't think we should fire someone in response to a down year and Nick Saban.
ReplyDeleteI don't blame the players...that's not fair to them.
ReplyDeleteI do blame the coaching. Without reservation
I know Burns gets rattled easily, but does he even have the balls to try to throw beyond 5 yards downfield?
ReplyDeleteexcept for Arena League, no more football for Lester after this
ReplyDeleteI blame Kodi for not being willing to make any plays beyond the 1st down marker.
ReplyDeleteHe's scared to death to stretch the field...everything is underneath and we can't have that right now.
CCR- this showing is pathetic, and we have not improved at all from game to game. CTT needs to go
ReplyDeleteYou know what I REALLY like?
ReplyDeleteThe GREAT halftime adjustments we made!!!
(extreme sarcasm added)
its his fault we are down..... and in the process of being shutout by our rival. Something he was never able to do in 6 years.
ReplyDeleteI agree Mr. S. I don't blame the players, I blame the Coach. Count me off the Tubs support and now a supporter of Change.
ReplyDeletenick saban's new nick name is LITTLE DEBBIE!
ReplyDeleteDo i smell a sponshorship?
"Little Debbie oatmeal pies and Coke! A great pair for saban and alabama football!"
COACHING? (sorry did i already say that?)
ReplyDeleteRoll that Ford to the farm TUBS!
ReplyDeleteCould this thing hurry up and just end.
ReplyDeletegoodness. i need to drink more. i'm sober and i can't handle it anymore.
ReplyDeletePeople who want to defend Tuberville after this...fiasco...can just flat suck my...lollipop.
ReplyDeleteIf I were a betting man (and I'm not), I'd have readily taken AU and the 14.5 points before kickoff.
This is just a ******* beatdown. One of these teams is well coached. One is not.
Tommy, don't let the door hit ya where Gawd split ya! JUST GET OUT!
To get who Bear? Who could we bring in, in this coaching market, that would be a surefire improvement over CTT?
ReplyDeleteI know we beat them 6 tiimes in a row, but never like this. we are getting thoroughly outmanned, beat, whooped, embarrased, and basically taken behind a woodshed, and our HC seeems to be taking it in stride. no emotion
ReplyDeleteSaban, dude.
ReplyDeleteSaban= intensity for a bad punt up 28 points. CTT= arms folded and a smirk, knowing he has that $6 million lotto tix.
ReplyDeleteI HATE Saban.
ReplyDeleteThe man is evil.
CCR4Au- Is really hard to improve over this year? This year is totally Tubs fault. NOBODY elses.
ReplyDeleteIf you're blaming this on Kodi Burns, you're none too smart. This is coaching, coaching, coaching (and recruting, recruiting, recruiting.)
ReplyDeleteTuberville had his glory years. Keeping him on is just giving him his gory years. TIME TO GO!
this is beyond embarrassing. i don't know what else to say.
ReplyDelete2.9 yards per play so far in this game.
ReplyDelete2.7 per rush.
3.2 yards per pass attempt.
Seriously, WHAT ADJUSTMENTS WERE MADE AT HALFTIME???
ReplyDeleteNo surefire names now, season not 100% over; there will be more firings. AFter 10 years, many things get stagnent, and changes are needed. Jobs, teams, etc...
ReplyDeleteMy Gridiron Breakdown partner sends his regards.
ReplyDeleteand says RTR...he's been waiting on that
nice blocking on the screen
ReplyDeleteWow, look a screen that doesn't work for us.
ReplyDeleteAgain....SCREEN PASSES NEVER WORK FOR US...
ReplyDeleteONLY AGAINST US..
Derek Winter getting some serious PT today
ReplyDeleteI'm not blaming the game on Burns, I'm blaming the lack of offense. He's had several times back there where he could have taken a chance but wouldn't pull the trigger.
ReplyDeleteWe don't need 3-5 yard passes.
Who is number 87 for Auburn?
ReplyDeleteHe is awful..
well, let's avoid the shutout....
ReplyDeleteIf Auburn starts making coaching decisions based on emotion, then it does not spell well for our stability as a program. Recruits will leave in droves.
ReplyDeletenice attempt of a middle screen. GEEEZUS!!!
ReplyDeleteWow, a screen pass set up that was a disaster.
ReplyDeleteLast time Bama shut out AU - coaching change
ReplyDeleteKodi again throws the worlds longest spike.
ReplyDeleteWho could we bring in, in this coaching market, that would be a surefire improvement over CTT?
ReplyDeletePaul Johnson. And as far as "surefire improvement" goes, I'd gladly roll the dice. Tuberville is a four+ loss coach. Period. AU fans that feel otherwise need merely consult the record books before apologizing.
Last time Alabama shut us out, the coaching change was already decided before kickoff.
ReplyDeleteCCR4AU- It worked well for bama last coaching change.
ReplyDeleteif recruit watch this game, they will decomitt in droves...
ReplyDeleteClinton Durst is the Anders Book Store player of the game
ReplyDeleteCan WE NOT GET A FLAG???
ReplyDeleteIS BAMA ABOVE A PASS INTERFERENCE CALL?
What about the 4 coaching changes before they landed on Saban?
ReplyDeleteHow well did that work for them?
ReplyDeletewith Bama getting Satan out of the NFL, that shows just about ANYTHING is possible when it comes to getting a HC at a major SEC school, if that school is wiling to pay. It was Satan saying "I'm not gonna be the next coach at Alabama" then, boom, 12-0 after 1 full year. (meaning the 2nd year). Who say UM getting RR from WVU? Anything can happen in the world of coaching. and we need, no MUST have some of that anything to happen on the plains...
ReplyDeleteCCR4AU- WE can agree to disagree. I can say that I was on the bring Tubs back bandwagon until this game. I promise you I am not the only person that feels this way right now.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it true on every play that if you can shake your last tackle then you can score?
ReplyDeleteThey are mashing us now. Our D line is worn down totally.
ReplyDeleteTake 2004 out of the equation. Is Tubs record good enough year in and out to keep at Auburn?
ReplyDeleteSaban says screams at his players, "Don't you know how much I hate these guys?"
ReplyDeleteIf Tubs did that, he'd be called classless.
Saban does it and they give him a medal.
New thread up.
ReplyDelete(Internet connection pooped out on me again. Sorry.)
So we get killed by one of the best teams in the country during a year where we haven't done anything and you expected more? I guess I will be in the minority on this. I just fear that a coaching change would spell a dark period for Auburn. I really hope I am wrong.
ReplyDeleteWhat about the 4 coaching changes before they landed on Saban?
ReplyDeleteWhat about 'em? Are you satisfied with mediocrity? AU under Tuberville is an underachieving program in decline. WHAT IT IS WITH YOU PEOPLE?
Bama has been subpar for years. Now they aren't. AU has how many SECCG appearances (not to mention trophies) under Tubs? Thats right. Two appearance. One SECCG championship. And since 2004...nothing but rolling (at an ever increasing rate) downhill.
Tubs couldn't even bring himself to step in and demand that the offensive staff give the starting nod to a future NFL first round draft pick at QB i n 2003. (Quote: If I wanted to run a high school offense, I'd start Jason Campnbell.) Against UGA this year, Fannin gets hot, scores both offensive TD's...and then sits with the game on the line? Are you kidding me?
Tommy Tuberville needs to cash his lotto ticket and leave. Do people here realize just how much 6 million dollars is? If you make 50 grand a year, you'd have to work 120 YEARS to make 6 mil. Feel bad for Tubs? NOT!
I agree roman and have all year. Some people on this board either don't love auburn like they say or they don't understand football at all.
ReplyDeleteIt isn't you people, It seems I am the only one defending him here. I am not satisfied with mediocre. I do not, however, want to see us go through what Bama just went through. Win lose or draw I want a program with class. Bama's program was filled with kids with criminal records and paid off recruits. I am going to enter the work force soon outside of Alabama and I don't want my colleagues to hear about the things that have gone on during the shuffling coaches period at Bama.
ReplyDeleteWhat I meant to say was that I don't want Auburn to have national headlines with players getting arrested, or paid off, or coaches that are acting immorally. I know that just because it happened to Bama that it doesn't mean it will happen to us, but I don't want to make coaching changes on emotions. That is would could happen.
ReplyDelete
