"Bob Petrino joined the groups "Abusing Defenses" and "Looking for Jobs." -- Jet, simulating a certain someone's Facebook feed
12.02.2008
Nothing to report, but here's a new thread
This is the view from Auburn's Athletic Complex earlier today, where Tommy Tuberville and Jay Jacobs held a long meeting to discuss the Tigers' football program.
I'll update with HOT information as it becomes available.
Office Space was good when it first came out...but after watching it later working in an office, it's one of my all time favorites.
I'll be honest with you, I love his music. I'm a Michael Bolton fan. For my money, I don't know if it gets any better than when he sings "When a Man Loves a Woman".
After working in an office, I feel like in each department you can find those characters in real life...the irony is they've also seen the movie and are oblivious to the fact that one of the roles applies to them.
Bob Slydell is a Michael Bolton fan. He's not ashamed.
Sean,
You are so right. It's that way where I work too. That's also what helps make The Office my favorite comedy on TV, because there is so much truth in that show that it's scary.
I have to take my son to the dentist, eddie. So no sign holding for me. And because I will not be monitoring this constantly, something is sure to happen. You're Welcome.
"Expect a decision on the future of Auburn's Tommy Tuberville soon. If he returns, he'll have to shake up his offensive staff.
Offensive coordinator Tony Franklin was fired during the season. Others who could leave are offensive line coach Hugh Null, tight ends coach Steve Ensminger and receivers coach Greg Knox. Expect the new offensive coordinator to bring one or two assistants with him.
Early names being bandied about are Syracuse offensive coordinator Mitch Browning, Washington offensive coordinator Tim Lappano, Memphis offensive coordinator Clay Helton, Oklahoma running backs coach Cale Gundy, Tennessee Tech coach Watson Brown and former Kansas State coach Ron Prince."
If this is the list of people that have been burning up the phone and "stacking" their resumes on CTT desk, then he should've been fired, like yesterday.
Good God this is turning into a friggin mess. He'll be a dead man walking next year.
Half the guys on Dienhart's list are from programs that had their fair share of offensive problems...obviously they weren't scoring enough points to keep themselves employed, that makes a whole lot of sense.
Jet, I went back and George said there was to be an "announcement after meeting at 2:30." I take that as he said to expect an announcement, Jay has said otherwise. George is officially "on notice."
I swear, I wish they would go ahead and do something already. I mean if they were going to keep Tuberville then they should at least say that to everyone and let him deal with this staff after the fact, if that is in fact a stipulation of his return.
Jay, any ideas when anything will come out, I wish they'd just pull the trigger already one way or the other. I'm already tired of all this in limbo B.S.
Finebaum said earlier, end of previous show, that he is expecting some kind of annoucement today by 6. Just thought I would pass that along - sorry if it has been discussed already.
Since nothing is going on check this out......The sitcom According to Jim is starting is seventh season tonight! Can you believe, one of the worst sitcoms ever and it has gone 7 years and 150 episodes! Any other nominations for this dubious honor?
Message boards circulated many rumors throughout the morning. However, the rumors produced near as much results as Auburn's woeful offense in the 2008 campaign.
AUBURN, Ala. -- Auburn University announced a stunning series of moves today -- firing head coach Tommy Tuberville, plans for a 15,000-seat addition to Jordan-Hare Stadium, plans to build the Lowder Indoor Football Facility, and the naming of the new arena as the Colonial Bank Center.
The price tag of the moves is in the neighborhood of $500 million. An additional $50 million has been raised from an unnamed source to help Auburn lure its next football coach.
Jay/Hotties...any definite word around about Monte Kiffin joining his boy at UT? That would be a big loss for the bucs and their fans.(since we are all waiting on the rumors...)
From now on, I promise to follow Sensi's lead and do the Hottie Shoutout first. By the end of the conversation, I always forget. Y'all come up with an official verbal salute ... like hinky hotties or something. We can say that like "hello."
Fire everbody.
Seriously ... all these great recruiters we have. Really? Prove it.
Jay, can you validate what Evan Woodbery is reporting that the head football coach's office and the athletic directors suite are now closed? Also that virtually every member of Jay Jacobs'"senior leadership team" -- that is, the senior associate athletic directors in the department -- were huddled in the hallway just a moment ago. Now they're gone, presumably into Jacobs' office.
Couldn't stand it huh?
ReplyDeleteI am awaiting this HOT information...
ReplyDeleteI hed to break myself of the gutterball rut.
ReplyDelete315 posts just waiting.
ReplyDeleteJay G, you have got us all waiting around like hogs for the slop. No offense to anyone.
JGT - you said in the last thread you think Tubs will get a reprieve, why is that?
ReplyDeleteI'm the hog at the trough!
ReplyDeleteI'm not holding much back at this point.
That's funny Sensi..after all the weight loss chat:)
ReplyDeletewe need a picture of the guy outside the complex sign holding up a "time for change" cardboard sign.
ReplyDeleteJust win ... a general feeling.
ReplyDeleteKiffin's wife might cause me to cheer for the vols on a few saturdays next fall.....
ReplyDeleteHAWT
Here's some gutterball for you. The white horse fell in the mud. BOOM!
ReplyDeleteEddie, someone fibbed to you.
ReplyDeleteThere is no man outside the complex with a sign.
Ww should have hired Kiffin's wife...I mean Kiffin
ReplyDeleteI didn't think so, but it would have been funny.
ReplyDeleteKristina / Mr.S- Head over to the complex with the card board sign.
Kiffin's wife: "Not too shabby."
ReplyDeleteWell below Jenna Fischer and others.
Yes. We. Can.
ReplyDeleteI sure hope they don't do a productivity review for the past two days.
ReplyDeleteI hear that Mrs. Tubs is a real nice lady

ReplyDelete"What would ya say ya do here at Initech?
ReplyDeleteA song for the occasion.

"Not now Lumbergh, I've got a meeting with the Bobs in a few minutes."
ReplyDeleteHey JayG.
ReplyDeleteIf you are wondering about the IP address, Sorry, my job has brought me here.
I really appreciate your work.
War Eagle.
When did this meeting start?
ReplyDeleteApparently it doesn't have a starting point or ending point.
ReplyDeleteOffice Space was good when it first came out...but after watching it later working in an office, it's one of my all time favorites.
ReplyDeleteI'll be honest with you, I love his music. I'm a Michael Bolton fan. For my money, I don't know if it gets any better than when he sings "When a Man Loves a Woman".
Oh at about 10 to 9. There's the old 2004 LSU joke...
ReplyDeleteMichael Bolton???????
ReplyDeleteIf you stick him between two slices of bread you have a cheese sammich....
Meeting started before 9.
ReplyDeleteAfter working in an office, I feel like in each department you can find those characters in real life...the irony is they've also seen the movie and are oblivious to the fact that one of the roles applies to them.
ReplyDeleteJay, how bout that? I was totally kidding and look how close I was.
ReplyDeleteAmazing.
ReplyDelete2 things not to say in public:
ReplyDelete1. Necessary? Is it necessary that I drink my own urine other than its sterile and it tastes good?
2. I'm a Michael Bolton fan.
Eddie ... love the photo.
ReplyDeleteReminds me of the episode when someone does it to the Kool Aid man's house and he acknowledges how irritating it is.
Bob Slydell is a Michael Bolton fan. He's not ashamed.
ReplyDeleteSean,
You are so right. It's that way where I work too. That's also what helps make The Office my favorite comedy on TV, because there is so much truth in that show that it's scary.

ReplyDeleteJenna Fischer??
ReplyDeleteI would walk across the street to see her hekkid. What do you see in her?
Dime a dozen.
Kristina...
ReplyDeleteIf anything happens, we will blame it on you.
FSJ, are you ready to start distributing your Tuberville/Nall '09 swag yet?
ReplyDeleteim loving the jerrys kids recaps
ReplyDeleteThis guy on Finebaum isn't very professional.
ReplyDeleteSurely this is a joke....
ReplyDeleteFrom Tom Dienhart...

Good God this is turning into a friggin mess. He'll be a dead man walking next year.
Not yet Sean...
ReplyDeleteAnon, reading Dienhart is almost as bad as listening to Finebaum.
ReplyDeletedoes george really know anything about the 2:30 announcement?
ReplyDeleteIs there even really a George?
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteLet's try that again.
ReplyDeleteWhat does your sign say, Jet?
ReplyDeleteI see it now.
ReplyDeleteI'll hold the sign, we're all ready for a change...
ReplyDeleteI really hope there is an announcement at 2:30 because if not...well I'm goin to have to knock out some more Joe.
ReplyDeleteCoffee!!! Yeah.
ReplyDeletelord, do we even need an oc? if we get the guy from washington, we still won't have one.
ReplyDeleteI agree Sean...
ReplyDeleteLet's get it over...one way or the other...
Half the guys on Dienhart's list are from programs that had their fair share of offensive problems...obviously they weren't scoring enough points to keep themselves employed, that makes a whole lot of sense.
ReplyDeleteDid Auburn contact Brian Kelly at Cinci?
ReplyDeleteJay, can you confirm the existence of said announcement?
ReplyDeleteWhere'd this "2:30" stuff come from?
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone really know what time it is?
ReplyDeleteFrom George, Tim.
ReplyDeleteHe also posts from Anon-land.
Okay, who wants to chip in on a pine box to send to the athletic complex?
ReplyDeleteSix minutes..
ReplyDeleteI've got a $1.37 in my desk drawer.
ReplyDeleteI've got 8 cents to chip in, in my desk drawer. I'll help out
ReplyDeleteGuys, there is no 2:30 press conference.
ReplyDeleteHow about this to get your blood pumping?!?
ReplyDeleteLINK
*Warning: Some adult language and violence.
Phil, don't go nuts man, you've got your 401 to think about...
ReplyDelete0 for 2 for George today...
ReplyDeleteJay, thanks for the update, I'm off to the coffee machine!
ReplyDeleteIt's a Sicilian message.

ReplyDeleteKiffens wife is pretty hot. She looks like that softball player for team USA
ReplyDeleteJay, do you ever do any undercover work? I mean, could you like dress up as a cleaning lady and sneak into the meeting?
ReplyDeleteDammit random guy who may or may not be named George, I put my faith in you and you let me down.
ReplyDeleteMaybe it was 2:30 in Guam.
ReplyDeleteJay,
ReplyDeletePlease tell me those names listed are a joke. If not, we will be a travesty next year.
Not to be a George defender ... but I believe he said an announcement after a 2:30 meeting.
ReplyDeleteThings hotter than Kiffin's wife.
ReplyDelete1. The sun.
2. Tubby's hiney after Saban spanked him.
3. This blog.
4. Nothing else.
Jet:
ReplyDeleteYou are correct...

Announcement coming after meeting at 2:30
-George
1:32 PM
Jet, I went back and George said there was to be an "announcement after meeting at 2:30." I take that as he said to expect an announcement, Jay has said otherwise. George is officially "on notice."
ReplyDeleteJay,
ReplyDeleteIs there an announcement after a 2:30 meeting today?
Announcement,
ReplyDeleteIs there a Jay at 2:30 today?
I think we can be certain that we don't know when there will be an announcement. It could be tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteSome lady called and ripped me (via a co-worker) for spelling Jay Gogue's name incorrectly.
ReplyDeleteOnly one problem. I'm not.
http://www.auburn.edu/administration/president/
Wouldn't you at least Google the guy before calling the newspaper for a correction?
I feel like I am on Santa tracker!
ReplyDeleteI swear, I wish they would go ahead and do something already. I mean if they were going to keep Tuberville then they should at least say that to everyone and let him deal with this staff after the fact, if that is in fact a stipulation of his return.
ReplyDeleteSome over on Scout are saying the Gran is also in the meeting now? Any confirmation on this?
ReplyDeleteI'm sitting less than 30 yards from the AU football summit and there is no meeting, no announcement, no nothing.
ReplyDeleteIn fact, let me go get a picture for you to prove what I'm saying is true.
How did she say it should be spelled? That is funny.
ReplyDeleteAnd Auburn plays LSU at Baton Gogue next year, right?
ReplyDeleteOf course, Jay is right. He is the leader of the blog.
Jay, any ideas when anything will come out, I wish they'd just pull the trigger already one way or the other. I'm already tired of all this in limbo B.S.
ReplyDeleteOh man, Jay G busted by the spelling police. Jay, feel free to direct them to me as the committee for spelling infractions and video rental.
ReplyDeleteGet em Jay.
ReplyDeleteI see Tuberville staying followed by a long wait to learn who the new OC will be.
ReplyDeleteJay ... When Verbal limps out of the building, it would be a good idea to follow him.
ReplyDeleteJust sayin'
Finebaum said earlier, end of previous show, that he is expecting some kind of annoucement today by 6. Just thought I would pass that along - sorry if it has been discussed already.
ReplyDeleteShe said it's "Gouge."
ReplyDeleteAlso, the rumor about Eddie Gran being in The Summit is false. I just spoke with him. He's in his office.
Message boards are 0-fer today so far.
Are they in Jacobs' or Tubs' office?
ReplyDeleteThe guy from Auburn Undercover said Jacobs'....
Finebaum said his sources say Tubs'....
I can see Jay G.'s story for tomorrow. The lead would go something like:
ReplyDeleteFor the second day in a row, there is nothing of substance to report on Tommy Tuberville's future at Auburn.
Colonial Bank got bailout money today. Stock WAY up.
ReplyDeleteSince nothing is going on check this out......The sitcom According to Jim is starting is seventh season tonight! Can you believe, one of the worst sitcoms ever and it has gone 7 years and 150 episodes! Any other nominations for this dubious honor?
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteThat's ridiculous Scott....
ReplyDeleteJim gets to stay...
ABC is ditching Boston Legal, which is one of the best shows on television. Too expensive they say.
Wouldn't that make for an interesting headline...Auburn Trustee uses Federal Aid money to Fire Head Football Coach.
ReplyDeleteI've never met Scott Brown. I don't think I've ever seen him. An informal survey of the beat hacks reveals more Auburn experts who don't know him.
ReplyDeleteAnd he's the de facto Auburn expert.
With that said, he's correct on this one.
Well Jay while you are waiting why don't you see if Lebo will let you show the Basketball team how to shoot free throws?
ReplyDeleteMessage boards circulated many rumors throughout the morning. However, the rumors produced near as much results as Auburn's woeful offense in the 2008 campaign.
ReplyDeleteTHE SHIELD ended last week. what am i supposed to do at 10pm (ET) tonite? aaarrrrggghhhh!!!!!
ReplyDeletesensi, any suggestions?
LMAO Jay...
ReplyDeleteFSJ
ReplyDeleteBoston Legal is good but its downfall is the rise of Cable programming...if that show had been on 15 years ago it would have been a mega hit.
The Wire is also done. But Californication is pretty good.
ReplyDeleteMan, Scottie. I'm in the same boat tonight. Not sure what I'll do.
ReplyDeleteProbably be on here reading the latest rumor from "George."
I'd say the percentage now is 1.1 percent.
ReplyDeleteThat's the $6 mm out of the $550 Colonial Bank was just approved for in the bailout money.
I love me some big gubbment!
scottie b,
ReplyDeleteMy suggestion is to rent season one and start from the beginning :) Thats my plan
In other news, Auburn fans are searching for something to watch on television as all of the good shows are now off the air.
ReplyDeleteI really liked Pushing Daisies. Those commies canceled that while according to Jim lives on.
ReplyDeleteIs there any justice? ABC doesn't know how to play with tempo.
Scottie B,
ReplyDeleteTuesday nights at 10:00 are usually Law & Order SVU nights.
However, NCIS is the best show on Tuesday nights.
Jay G., 440 posts about basically nothing today.
ReplyDeleteKind of like the Seinfeld show, ehh?
As far as a show worse than According to Jim, I'd say Full House or Family Matters. Both were on forever, and both sucked.
ReplyDeletePretty impressive, Sensi.
ReplyDeleteSo Jay there in Jay's office?
ReplyDeleteAUBURN, Ala.

Yep. Hotties representing hard today.
ReplyDeleteJay/Hotties...any definite word around about Monte Kiffin joining his boy at UT? That would be a big loss for the bucs and their fans.(since we are all waiting on the rumors...)
ReplyDeleteOh yea. I forgot about the photographic evidence ...
ReplyDeleteThink about this....for a while According to Jim and George Lopez ran back to back...for sure the worst combo in history.
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing getting Monte Kiffin was a big sell on UT signing his son.
ReplyDeleteThat's just my thoughts.
Monte Kiffin is like 70 isn't he? His defense will terrorize the SEC for at least 2 years. And I am sure he is a tireless recruiter.
ReplyDeleteI really wish you people would stop posting such funny comments on here. I have tons of work I need to be doing.
ReplyDeleteFrom now on, I promise to follow Sensi's lead and do the Hottie Shoutout first. By the end of the conversation, I always forget. Y'all come up with an official verbal salute ... like hinky hotties or something. We can say that like "hello."
ReplyDeleteFire everbody.

ReplyDeleteAnon...
ReplyDeleteI read that earlier too.
Yes..wareaglerk. The NFL show on Sirius Sunday morning was already reporting that. Of course we all know Montes intial response of denial.
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing Ed Orgeron is being brought in to pick up Monte's recruiting.
ReplyDeleteFrom my earlier comment....
ReplyDeleteYea michael..he just looks 70 and tired already.
ReplyDeleteI can see the Athletic Director's advisors circled up and whispering then they put their hands in and yell...READY BREAK!
ReplyDeleteYeah, Tuberville does, but what about Monte Kiffin?
ReplyDeleteI've heard that to rk...
ReplyDeleteAnon ... yes, there are people meeting with Tuberville today.
ReplyDeleteNew post up.
ReplyDelete
