Eddie Gran, Tuberville's consigliere at Auburn from 1999-2008, has been hired as running backs coach at Tennessee. The guy has skills. He'll be a good head coach within the next five years.

Thanks for the confirmation Jay. I heard rumors about this earlier today from less credible sources.
ReplyDeleteHave to wish Gran luck and nothing but the best in the future. Heck of a guy who did a great job here.
ReplyDeleteThat is great news for UT. They have the talent at the RB spot. Gran should be able to make a drastic improvement in a short time.
ReplyDeleteStill chuckle about Ensminger's "landing on his feet." Glad that joker's gone.
ReplyDeleteHe ran an SEC offense last season ...
ReplyDeleteThe man deserves respect.
Ran. As in "into the ground"?
ReplyDeleteI still can't believe we hired a high school driver's ed teacher, kept him in the SEC for 6 years and then turned him back into a high school driver's ed teacher. Only at Auburn.
ReplyDeleteGran is a good guy, and probably a pretty good coach. Just think he has trouble with recognizing who should get the ball on the team. Still can't believe we let Ronnie Brown ride the pine in the USC game when the Caddy got cramps. Guess he didn't know blocking assignements
ReplyDeleteGriff, gotta call you out on that one. What Ensminger did deserves more respect. Running an offense into the ground was accomplished by "The Tony Franklin Experience." Ensminger was given the thankless task of trying to pick up the pieces without having anytime to reorganize. Your comments demonstrate a total lack of understanding of coaching and the preparation required to compete in the SEC. Much more is required than just coming in and trying to run something from scratch.
ReplyDeleteI refer you to Theodore Roosevelt's Man in the Arena.
Quite a lot of Ensminger defense going on today. Never knew the had such strong support in some circles.
ReplyDeleteDenny...in case you haven't noticed...Griff is only interested in complaining and throwing insults.....it completes him.
ReplyDeleteProbably attained his sports accumen from ESPN.
