Awaiting word from Roof

Hey everyone. Quite a night for Tulsa on Wednesday ... waxing Ball State on a breezy night at Ladd-Peebles. Winter on the gulf, I tell ya.

So what do we have today?

UPDATE @ 2:40 p.m.: Gene Chizik stopped by for a minute or two before heading to his next engagement. He said he doesn't know Roof personally, but said he is "highly thought of" by coaching colleagues he trusts.

(Blogger.com won't allow picture uploads right now. No art for YOU.)

  3. I don't think Ted knows how many questions we're going to ask him.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Do you need Ted's cellie?

    ReplyDelete
  5. Are you saying you are #1, Monica?

    ReplyDelete

  10. I am new I don't want to jump in to early.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Did I hear correctly that we have visited Reuben Randle and Bryce Brown? Any idea what they had to say? Who is the new QB we visited?

I'm liking the new staff putting themselves out there and at least trying to sign these type playaz. Tubby always did pretty well evaluating talent, but by only looking at players if they came to your camp... It always seemed like the lazy way of doing things. It's good to see our coaches aiming high.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Plus the boss is out right now.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Well, then welcome to the HABOTN, BigDaddy!

    ReplyDelete
  14. Jay...

If you see one of your fellow beat writers that covers Alabama ask them if there is any truth to the rumor that Alabama is trying to work out a game with Southern Cal to be played at the Dallas Cowboys' new stadium in 2010. I would assume that this would be similar to the one they played against Clemson this year in Atlanta.

    Thanks.....

  15. A guy I work with got it(AL.vs USC) in a e-mail this morning said they are trying

Since this is going to be allowed, I give credit to UofAL for at least stepping out there to play teams of note outside the region.

    That made my head hurt...

    ReplyDelete
  20. NO no way my brother-in-law not me

    ReplyDelete
  21. whew - that's a relief, BigDaddy!

    Should I be worried?

    ReplyDelete
  39. HAHAHAHAHA Aubie - you're great

  43. I get the BC thing, but I don't get the BC thing. Talk about something that should have been taken care of in house. Gee I wonder if there's a plags jagz can go?!?!

    ReplyDelete
  44. cheeseburger in paradise

    ReplyDelete
  45. plags? let's try this fingers: team.

    ReplyDelete
  46. What did you think of Scubs last night, Aubie? I thought the two episodes were pretty darn good. A lot better than the start to last season.

Seems like someone was saying it was ruined last night. Can't remember who.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Jets, Seattle - He won't have any trouble finding a job.

    ReplyDelete
  48. If you were Jagodzinski (or however you spell his name), would you sue for wrongful termination?
From reports, there was no language written into the contract saying he could not interview for another job, especially in the NFL. The AD claims to have had a verbal agreement that Jagz wouldn't leave for 3 years when hired. But, that was supposedly a verbal agreement only (if that even occurred).

    ReplyDelete
  49. Roof to speak with reporters at 3 p.m.

I'll get Roof's comments to you asap.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Let the record show that I was not the one to bring up the BC head coaching situation.

    ReplyDelete
  51. I doubt he has a case.

    ReplyDelete
  52. I guess I thought the AD was full of it. I didn't think hed be stupid enough to fire a good coach over exploring a better opportunity.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Youtube has now been blocked where I work. No more Jan Terri. No more Crazy World of Arthur Brown. No more Rickroll. No more Tommy Wiseau's "The Room" (you simply must check out some highlights of this). No more Tommy Seebach,. All gone. What's next, HABOTN blocked?

    ReplyDelete
  54. OK ...

    Pregame ... season opener.

The PA guy announces the Auburn starting lineup, then all of sudden the familiar strains of the the theme from "Shaft" reverberate throughout Jordan-Hizzle.

And we introduce the starting coaching lineup ...

    ReplyDelete
  55. Ok, Ok. I won't speak of it again. Just wasn't anything else relatively new to talk about.
Well, Stafford and Moreno going pro, but we all knew that was happening too.

    Mon,
Did Randle or Bryce show any love when Luper visited them? I think I heard it was Luper anyways.
Who is the new QB we visited?

    ReplyDelete
  56. D Mill, you are fine bringing it up. I think some people got annoyed about how long the "Is it right? Is it wrong" discussion went.

I for one can't get enough of it. Was it right? Was it wrong? Discuss.

    ReplyDelete
  57. YouTube blocked?

Did they take away your window on Tiananmen Square, too?

    ReplyDelete
  58. I just tried to get added to the HABOTN facebook group but I am not sure I did it correctly. There was no way to send a message that I could see.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Malzahn and Willis visited Moseley, but I don't know if anyone or who has visited Bryce or Reuben.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Michael,
Impressed with ABC Scrubs. 1st episode was hilarious. Newbies are great, esp Ed. Loved C. Cox in the roll. Especially the interaction with Jordan and janitor. The cougar m_lf comment was fantastic.
2nd episode was more subdued, heart tugging. Singing the steak night song all day.
I want another Colin Hay episode.

    ReplyDelete
  61. I think people were just saying we need to visit Bryce and Randle.

    ReplyDelete
  62. I know a guy who visited Bryce.
    No you don't!
    Yes I do!
    No you don't!
    Yes I do!

    ReplyDelete
  63. No wonder you're in such a bad mood, Michael!

    ReplyDelete
  64. Anonymous2:31 PM

    Hi-dee Hotties-

Michael--I really wanted to like Scrubs..tried numerous times...couldn't get there. Definitely has a following

If Jags had a handshake agreement not to leave, then he shouldn't have interviewed and shouldn't sue. If not, sue that arrogant AD.

If Big D--dy graduated AU in 2003, I'm not sure that's enuff time to be called B-D. "I'm 26 and I'm a man"...oh..gotta go....the boss is coming"! Just kiddin' B-D welcome

    ReplyDelete
  65. Anonymous2:31 PM

    Hey Peeps!!

It is still raining for the 400th straight day.

Seemed a bit damp in Mobile lastnight.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Was at the dentist with my kid this week and Rick "half" Astley came over the muzak.
    Never gonna give you up...
I got strange looks as I chuckled to myself.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Anonymous2:32 PM

A couple Bulldogs went pro that might help next yr.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Sorry Mon, wrong Bryce.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Scrubs is funny to me because, as a brain surgeon, the hospital humor hits home.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Stafford will have quite an adjustment from the warm climes of Athens, GA to Detroit Crap City.

    I'm just sayin'.

    ReplyDelete
  71. There's something from B-Matthews on the rivals site about AU visits nations #1 and #2 prospects and the nations #2 QB. I only assumed those were referencing Randle and Bryce (doesn't Rivals list them in that order?).

    ReplyDelete
  72. Anonymous2:34 PM

I've got clients that won't allow me to do Facebook. Some security jibberish. Can't bite the hand.....ya know.

    ReplyDelete
  73. So, is it official that FSJ is our official token Bama fan and other Bama fans are not allowed?

    ReplyDelete
  74. Anonymous2:38 PM

FSJ is the official Bama fan but I believe there was another that joined.

    ReplyDelete
  75. D - I'm headed home in a minute and I'll check it out.

Same here, Hoopie. Tried to like Scrubs. Didn't work.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Scrubs is one of top 3 favorite shows of all times. I love the characters and the humor. I will be sad to see it leave.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Anonymous2:40 PM

    Mon - Your #1

    ReplyDelete
  78. New UPDATE on the main blog:

Gene Chizik stopped by for a minute or two before heading to his next engagement. He said he doesn't know Roof personally, but said he is "highly thought of" by coaching colleagues he trusts.

    ReplyDelete
  79. Picking your nose does not make you a brain surgeon, Aubie.

Scrubs has lost some goodness the last couple of years, but it still hits its high points pretty well. If I were just now trying to get into I don't think I would do it, but I am loyal now. The first few years were awesome, though.

    ReplyDelete
  80. Sensi, save the clock tower? it's just going to get struck by lightning again anyways. where's Doc when you need him?

monnie, you're always #1 to the HABOTN.

    ReplyDelete
  81. So did he talk to Roof before hiring him? This seems un-Chiz-like compared to the other hires.

And Scrubs is overrated. Spend your time watching Nip/Tuck.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Some Bammer on F-Bomb tried to compare Gus Malzah to Dave Rader ... cause Rader had great offenses at Tulsa. Why are the Bammers so concerned with our new coaching staff? We are making the right hires and I pumped about the future.

    ReplyDelete
  83. Obviously faker got in and made nice until he got well entrenched before he ever came out of the closet as a bammer.
Give him credit though, he is no Shane.

    ReplyDelete
  84. As posted earlier Luper is on one heck of a recruiting trip!

    ReplyDelete
  85. Anonymous2:43 PM

Watched Nip/Tuck lastnight....looks like a winner this year from what I saw.

    ReplyDelete
  86. ditto on the Nip/Tuck Brad. EVERYONE should watch DAMAGES tonite. best show i watched in 2007 by far. 10pm ET.

now, back to your regularly scheduled coaching update....

    ReplyDelete
  87. Hey Jay, when you say "No art for YOU!" on this post, I say "you" in my mind the same way Jan Terri says it in "Journey to Mars."

"It will be an adventure for yooouuuuuuu."

    Jouwney to Maaaaaa!

    ReplyDelete
  88. Any Lost fans out there? That show is by far my favorite. It will be back on in a couple of weeks.

    ReplyDelete
  89. Do What? Send me an e-mail and let me know what your real name is and I will hook you up with the facebook group.

We also have 2 other requests but I dont know who ya are...so send me an e-mail if you havent been let in yet.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Paladin -

Cleanse your soul and stop listening to Finebaum. Your IQ will immediately go up 20%. I mean, I went from a 40 to a 50 on the scale (which still means I'm like Brick Tamlin...but that's besides the point).

    ReplyDelete
  91. Anonymous2:47 PM

Over 400 yards rushing lastnight....that is some smashmouth.

    Wow.

    ReplyDelete
  92. Kristina, your attendance at the real HABOTN has been an embarrassment lately. Please correct or else.

    ReplyDelete
  93. Finebaum gets ratings by picking on Auburn. Remember, he is in Bammerham.

    ReplyDelete
  94. People who request entry into the facebook group without providing your HABOTN handle ... are doomed to a lifetime of watching "highlights" of the 2006 Capital One Bowl.

    ReplyDelete
  95. JG, i had blocked out that Capitol One Bowl until they started doing highlights during bowl week. Yack. What a horrid performance. We pulled a Bama-like-Sugar Bowl performance on that one. Or worse.

    ReplyDelete
  96. Brad

I am only listening today, to hear some Gottfried bashing.

    ReplyDelete
  97. Yes sir, Michael. I'm still reading everyday, just not posting as much.

No worries, you still get my vote for the funniest hottie...

    ReplyDelete
  98. Jay, I just sent a request to join the facebook group. My name matches my handle.

    ReplyDelete
  99. There is no way to include your HABOTN handle when you submit a request to join.

    ReplyDelete
  100. P.S. Frankly, I don't care if UAT is playing the New England Patriots at Wembley Stadium.

That having been said, it'd be nice to watch USC clean UAT's clock.

    ReplyDelete
  101. Oh and FWIW I love Scrubs but didnt see it last night. I can't keep my schedule straight anymore...

    ReplyDelete
  102. I knew HABOTN had been missing something...Wasn't sure what it was though..

    ReplyDelete
  103. D. Miller, you're incorrect.

About 10% of the requesters provide the correct information.

I guess we can call it a Facebook Miracle!

    ReplyDelete
  104. Frequent reader, firt time poster.

How about some Facebook group approval- I requested by the name of Tim Sheridan.

    /wardamneagle

    ReplyDelete
  105. D. Miller...yeah we know. We dont have that kind of option on facebook. So you have to send us an e-mail letting us know.

    ReplyDelete
  106. Robusto...you're in

    See, it's not that hard!

    ReplyDelete
  107. That's nearly as wonderful as a Festivus miracle

    ReplyDelete
  108. Maybe I'm just facebook challenged.

    ReplyDelete
  109. Sorry, Griff...I missed you the first time...you are now in too! Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  110. That's cool DMil, so am I. Only there to stalk my kids facebook and now HABOTN

    ReplyDelete
  111. D. Miller, you are already in the facebook group. What is challenging you?

    ReplyDelete
  112. I know I'm in, I just remember it being confusing.

    ReplyDelete
  113. Big Mike..

    Facebook stalking....LOL

I love it when I am stalked on facebook

    ReplyDelete
  114. Yeah , I know, D. I try to pay attention when people mention it on the blog and remind them to send an e-mail to either me or Jay.

    ReplyDelete
  115. One other thing...I am in serious need of a drink...

    Grrrrrrr

    ReplyDelete
  116. Drinking while at work can be dangerous, faker...

    ReplyDelete
  117. Scottie is right once again. Damages is the best.

I listen to Fbaum and I'll put my IQ up against yours, Bradley.

    ReplyDelete
  118. I put up a new Roof thread.

    ReplyDelete
