Travis commits

MONDAY NOONISH
Post No. 1,003

Hey everyone.

DT Jamar Travis of W.S. Neal High in Brewton surprised nobody today by committing to the Tigers. A Southern Miss commitment since December, Travis earned an offer from Auburn during the weekend.

He accepted today.

Auburn now has 20 players committed to its 2009 signing class.

tigercowboy,

I don't think the new staff really wants Coleman. I may be projecting, cuz I'm not that sold on the kid, but I read somewhere that we haven't been in contact since Willis left. I personally think he is the least exciting DL commit we have.

How on Earth are the girls only ranked 5th?!!?
They have beaten UT, UF, and tOSU all ranked in the top 15... they are 20-0...
What more do they have to do?

Looks like we still need 2 OL, 2 "Tall-Gazelle WRs" and 1 good DB.

Miller, I was upset with the ranking too. It will be interesting to see the Coaches Poll tomorrow.

Roof and Taylor visited Greg King today - he'll visit this weekend - he's "committed" to TN now, but says he'll come with an open mind. All per Bryan Matthews @ Rivals

Weren't they supposed to visit Blake today as well? Any word from that meeting yet?

Tuberville on ESPN signing day special? A place where they only talk about the top 4 and 5 star prospects?

I hope they realize Tuberville can't talk all that in depth or from experience about those kinds of recruits.

In school visit to Chiz/Luper/Rocker - they brought the whole gang to Nosa! I like it.

it's Greg Reid that's visiting

The all American db that auburn undercover is talking about is Greg Reid. However, rivals has him scheduled to visit Georgia this weekend. He is a 5 star.

9:05 PM
Blogger YoungPJ said...

Randle isn't visiting anymore? Its still on via Rivals...

9:07 PM
Blogger Miller said...

Taikwon Paige is listed as a visitor this weekend as well... he is a big time JuCo CB... Roof was recruiting him prior to coming to AU... From whatI have heard and read, if we extend an offer on his visit this weekend he will jump at it (and we most likely will give him the offer)...

9:10 PM

I'm not seeing anything on Blake yet. The plane trackers are convinced that visit is happening tonight.

I'm just kidding. Please Zteve, et. al, I'm just joking.

Nosa - "It was crazy," he said. "I thanked them for everything and then told them 'War Eagle!' Coach Chizik jumped up in the office. It was like pandemonium. He gave me a real big hug. I gave a big hug to Coach Rocker and Coach Luper, too. Everything went really good." Per Jeff Lee at Rivals

9:27 PM

Last Nosa quote - per Jeff Lee at Rivals - "God really works in mysterious ways," Eguae said last week after his visit from Auburn. "This time last month, I wasn't even really considering Auburn as a school that I wanted to spend the next 4-5 years at. But after they hired the new coaches … it's just real crazy how everything fell into place.

"The coaches that were recruiting me to other schools basically came together all at one school."

Nice. I wouldn't mind Rocker giving me a hug

Greg Reid, CB eliminated Gators - AU longshot but Roof pushing - FSU supposed to be one to beat.

Greg King to visit 1/30 - TN lean but Roof and Trooper convinced him to visit AU.

Randle - Favoring LSU-AL-OK, will he back out of visit to AU again?

I'd love to get Reid and King... Paige as well...

I have no grand delusions of Randle coming to AU... I think he's all LSU. Would be nice to get him on campus, but I don't know that it would matter much.

9:52 PM
Blogger Spongeworthy said...

Blake. If your still on, I get the feeling that AU is not hot for Coleman anymore as well. Too many signs pointing that way.

9:57 PM
Blogger Spongeworthy said...

Miller. Agree on Randall. Hard to get someone that's never seen your campus until a couple days before the dead period. Unless we had wads of cash.

I had heard that CGC wasn't too high on several of the kids Tubby had committed. Based on some of the defections, I think that's playing out. We have enough 5 foot 7 guys. We need some beef.

Good morning, Hotties!

Miller and Kathy - I, too, was disappointed with the ranking of the Auburn women's basketball team. The #2 team, Oklahoma has 2 losses for heaven's sake! Their schedule must be extremely tough.

6:53 AM

Good Morning Monica.

I am jealous. I want snow, but we never get it. My daughter wants to build a snowman badly. Guess I will have to head north to the mountains one weekend and hope to see some.

Snow day?!
I'm debating on whether to even put on pants it's s'posed to be so warm here in the Gump today.

I'm thinking of expanding my underpants radius to the include the office... but, it might violate dress code. I could just wear my dressy boxers, right?

After perusing rivals and scout, it looks like Tana P is ready to commit and I'm undecided if Randle will visit. I have a bad feeling it won't be for AU. Probably Bama, we will see.

7:49 AM
Blogger Commish of Old Pimps said...

I for one am sick and tired of the Randle tease. Give me Emory Blake and his AUsome attitude and send this primadonna packing!

What's really exciting this morning is the visit from OT Aubrey Phillips. Huge, talented and smart OT:

Ht: 6-foot-6
Wt: 310 lbs
Forty: 5.1 secs
GPA: 3.8
ACT: 17

The bad thing is Mon, he's not half as bad as he used to be.

Will the Hotmobile make it through the snow?

8:41 AM
Blogger Miller said...

Yes, pants are part of the dress code where I work. I'm just glad they still have the ac on (stupid people around here have ac on when it's cold out and heater on when it warms up - slow reaction time I guess). So far they haven't reacted to last week's cold snap and turned the heat on. Which I fully expect them to do, now that is warm again.

8:46 AM
Blogger Monica said...

Hey Silly - I'm not sure if you're being silly or not, but Longshore is co-host of the show on http://www.sportsradio740.com/. What a jerk. I can't believe he is better than he used to be???

JZ - The HOTmobile would never betray me by getting me to the office. However, for more noble purposes she would most definitely make it through snow.

Bosslady just made the call and the office is closed today. So, I'll be warm and safe at home with Greg and the puppies today.
