Trooper Taylor a Tiger?

Hey everyone. It looks as though Trooper Taylor, the popular Oklahoma State assistant, has agreed to terms with Auburn coach Gene Chizik. I don't have an official confirmation just yet -- official sources haven't confirmed anything -- but here is a story from the (Oklahoma City) Oklahoman about the situation.

UPDATE: Auburn's jet that was stationed in Stillwater, Okla., has returned without Taylor ... or anyone of significance.

I'll have more as this develops during the next few hours.

I'd like to see us go back to the way we did it when Shug was there - elect captains before the season and have them lead the team in warmups and then lead the team to run unto the field. The asst coaches should follow, running as well. The head coach should come last, and he oughta walk. The head coach of Auburn deserves a little dignity and respect. Aubie said...: Trainers should come out of the tunnel first, jogging, then trainers, trotting. Odd numbered players < 30 are next, skipping, followed by defensive linemen doing the crab walk. Punters and kickers run out wearing ballerina costumes followed by even numbered players < 30. Remaining players enter doing interpretive dance, followed by coach Chiz dressed as Captain Aumerica on a Harley.

Unknown said...: The thing is, this would make for an impressive offensive staff even without considering recruiting. OSU has had a very good offense and Troop was a viable candidate as the OC. Throw in him as receivers coach, Malzahn as OC, and Luper handling the backs, and that is an impressive offensive staff.; 4:05 PM

Imagine Troop telling them he is leaving for a $400k salary and them coming back offering $600k. I agree with you on the part about Jay G not being a fanboy...
However, to add to your point, Jay is one of the very few that can cover AU without showing a bias. Several (in this state) are assigned to cover AU, but are fans of the other team, and this comes out in their coverage.
