- HABOTN PLAYER OF THE GAME®
C Trevesha Jackson, 10 points, 2 rebounds
Numbers weren't her contribution. Without Jackson on the floor, Georgia's Angel Robinson was nearly unstoppable. When Jackson subbed in (she is struggling with pain in her left knee) Robinson was far more subdued. That development changed the game. - FINAL
Auburn wins, 65-59. The Tigers now have a one-game lead over Vanderbilt with one game to go. - FOURTH TO @ 0:56, 2nd half
Auburn leads, 56-53. Vanderbilt lost at Ole Miss earlier today, so the Tigers move into first place with a win here. I wonder if the players know that. Chantel Hilliard is out with a knee injury. Looked serious. - THIRD TO @ 7:32, 2nd half
Georgia leads, 47-46. Auburn was up four points and Smalley fired an open three. She missed. The Bulldogs then went on a 7-0 run. That could have been a clinching turn of events for the Tigers. Instead, Georgia is right in the middle of this thing. - SECOND TO @ 12:33, 2nd half
Auburn leads, 40-38. Same trends. DeWanna Bonner hasn't been a big force in this game yet. Is she going to change that? - FIRST TO @ 15:27, 2nd half
Auburn leads, 38-35. Auburn has scored on five of its first eight possessions and Smalley is at the line for the ninth. Better offensive flow from the home team. Angel Robinson already has two put-backs this half. - HALFTIME NUMBER OF NOTE: Auburn shot 32.4% in the first half.
Halftime entertainment: ZOOPERSTARS
- HALFTIME
Georgia leads, 29-27. Considering how poorly Auburn is shooting, the Bulldogs can't be happy with this score. Angel Robinson is a problem I don't think the Tigers can or will mitigate. - FOURTH TO @ 3:59
Georgia leads, 22-18. Auburn is shooting very poorly. Not sure of the percentages right now. I'd say they're in the 33-percent range. It looks like the usual array of shots, honestly. Georgia has a major advantage inside -- not necessarily on just size. Those girls are skilled. - THIRD TO @ 7:48
Georgia leads, 17-16. Both teams are playing at a higher level now. Hilliard is in for good, it seems, because Trevesha Jackson is out with what appears to be a calf or quadriceps strain. That's an issue because Auburn doesn't really have anyone to guard Georgia's Angel Robinson in the post. - SECOND TO @ 10:48
Georgia leads, 13-10. Auburn went through a 4-minute stretch without a bucket. Good shots not falling. Georgia's defense is pretty aggressive with the man-to-man. I'm not seeing the same kind of cunning I'd expect from Whitney Boddie. Seems more tentative than usual. I'm surprised to see Chantel Hilliard in so early. That must be Fortner sending a message. - FIRST TO @ 15:40
Tied at 7. Bonner has scored all seven of Auburn's points. Tigers have rebounded well. Shooting appears to be an issue. - YOUR AUBURN STARTERS:
PG -- Whitney Boddie of Florence, Ala.
SG -- Allison "Alli" Smalley of Arab, Ala.
SF -- Sherell Hobbs of Huntsville, Ala.
"PF" -- DeWanna Bonner of Fairfield, Ala.
C -- Trevesha Jackson of Auburn, Ala.
one?
ReplyDeletec'mon ladies!
ReplyDeleteNot the biggest crowd ever. Maybe 3,500.
ReplyDeleteHow many teams are doing the pink thing today?
ReplyDeleteWish I was there. Work is the only thing keeping me from seeing this revenge game. Lets go Tigers!!
ReplyDeleteany notables in the crowd?
ReplyDeleteWait, why aren't the teams wearing pink? The press release said they were. I caught the last of the Kansas v Iowa State game, and both teams even had pink shoes and socks on. What happened?
ReplyDeleteladies aren't shooting so well early.
ReplyDeletebonner rocks!
ReplyDeleteWelcome back, Jay G! You were missed.
ReplyDeletePink shoelaces.
ReplyDeleteThey weren't shooting well during the 1st half of the Vandy game either.
ReplyDelete"but what really knocked me out were her pink shoelaces". zz topp
ReplyDeleteThanks, AUMom!
ReplyDeleteTigers Baseball up 4-0 after 4 innings. All four runs scored int he third, including a 2 run homer from Hunter Morris...Auburn Pitcher PaulBurnside has 5 Ks so far.
ReplyDeleteElon just knocks out a 2 run Homer to bring the game to 4-2
ReplyDeletec'mon KeKe
ReplyDeleteAuburn could be colder. Wow.
ReplyDeleteSomeone passed someone on the home run trot in the baseball game? I am getting that game on the radio, but not the woman's game.
ReplyDeleteAnother Burnside walk issued on four straight balls(4 now on the day), followed by another Elon homer has the game tied at 4-4 on the 5th inning.
ReplyDeleteHa...didn't realize that Kristina. that's funny. Should be 5-0 Elon now, if not for that snafu.
ReplyDeleteWhat's happening with the basketball game?
ReplyDeleteBurnside is done for the day. Chris O'Neil out of the bullpen.
ReplyDelete13-10 UGA with 10:48 left, 1st half.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jay GT for the updates.
ReplyDelete13-10 uga
ReplyDeleteI can't figure out how they scored that, Peter. Obviously the dude is out. They scored the HR as getting a single. It's 4-3 now. They are still conferring with the umps and that the 3rd run shouldn't have count.
ReplyDeleteKristina, how the heck did Elon score that last point? From gametracker, it looked like the ss ran the ball over to first base, and the guy that was on first scored. Rundown gone wrong? Ball thrown away?
ReplyDeleteBoth runners were out on the homer, Kristina. The next batter singled, then scored from first on a fielders choice.
ReplyDeleteI'm confused. game tracker has changed the previous plays, but still looks wierd..will just have to go look at the scoring after the game..oh, well...
ReplyDeleteI guess the SS gets an unassist since he was the closest player to the guy that hit the home run who was called out for passing the runner in front of him. Auburn was arguing that the guy who was on first base should be on the third, but they went ahead and gave him the score.
ReplyDeleteTrevesha Jackson out with a leg injury of some kind. Serious enough to keep her out of this game, I think.
ReplyDeleteHate to hear that about Jackson. Hope it is just a strain.
ReplyDeleteI actually have the game on TV here.
ReplyDeleteTrevesha is coming back in, actually, but she's limping.
ReplyDeleteGuess I should say "gave him the run". Sorry mixing my sports jargon here.
ReplyDeleteI'm gonna have to get out my score card to make sense of it all. Plus I can't really listen to baseball on the radio if I'm not keeping score.
tigers struggling with shot selection, i think.
ReplyDeleteMon, where are you watching the game?
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed Thursday night's game and would love to see some more.
wow, that should have been a foul...
ReplyDeletewow...no foul on that?
ReplyDeleteThey're lettin' 'em play.
ReplyDeleteAUmom, its on FSN here.
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking Apollo Creed needs to talk to the girls at halftime ... looks like they've lost the Eye of the Tiger.
ReplyDeleteThanks, I found it.
ReplyDeleteAt least we scored when I turned it on.
Auburn within 2 24-22 with a minute to go in the half.
ReplyDelete2 points down at the half is much better than 16 down at the half.
ReplyDeleteThe Lady Tigers can do this.
HALFTIME: Georgia 29, Auburn 27.
ReplyDeleteAhhh!, Baseball team gave up a chance there. Had a man in scoring position with one out. Can't have your clean up hitter strike out looking. (next play was a fly out, inning over)
ReplyDeletei think the tigers have it, now.
ReplyDeleteHopefully the ladies will come out strong in the 2nd half. At least they are only down 2.
ReplyDeleteAlright, folks. I'm out for the day. Have a good Sunday.
ReplyDeleteNice to have you back, Jay G. The Hotties appreciate it.
Zooperstars are halftime entertainment. Awesome.
ReplyDeleteWe have:
Shaquille O'Seal
Alex Frogriguez
Dick Flytale
I'll get a pic up.
Watch that Frog, I think he's on 'roids.
ReplyDeleteI missed Mackerel Jordan. Darn.
ReplyDeleteMan, these oversized drivers in golf are getting to the point that I expect to see a 4-slice toaster on the end of a graphite shaft soon enough.
ReplyDeleteone more thing. anyone got that radio link that was posted a while back? I'd like to put the baseball game on in the office.
ReplyDeletePersonally, I prefer the limeade
ReplyDeleteWow, talk about an all-star line-up.
ReplyDeleteAnyone watching the NASCAR race?
ReplyDeleteHas a court ordered me to do so, Jay G?
ReplyDeleteNo? No.
Second half tipping off.
ReplyDeleteHeading to the back 9
ReplyDeleteMickelson -15
Couples -13
Smalley!
ReplyDeletedoesn't start until 5, Jay G
ReplyDeleteall times by PF are EDT/EST.
ReplyDeleteJay, according to my cable guide, the NASCAR race doesn't start until 4 PM. I'll only watch the last 5 laps to see who wins.
ReplyDeletetiger woods is kicking off his comeback here in tucson next week. should be cool. haven't played the course they'll be playing (it's pretty new and green fees are $225.00). weather should be good. i hooked myself up with one of those odd broom like putters. really makes a difference, for me.
ReplyDeletenice intensity to start the half
ReplyDeleteLET'S GO TIGERS!!!
ReplyDeleteHow 'bout we get a 10-0 run here for the AU Ladies?
All in favor say WAR EAGLE!!!
Alli needs to shoot her FTs from beyond the arc
ReplyDeletenobody's got that link with that shows direct links to the radio stations that stream Auburn network? dang.
ReplyDeleteWAR EAGLE!
ReplyDeleteI'll work on it next time out Peter
ReplyDeletehttp://radiotime.com/affiliate/a_37559/station/Auburn_Tigers_Radio_Stations.aspx
is that it
There was about 3 bad decisions there, girls.
ReplyDeleteTerrible turnover. Got lazy or tried to get too cute.
ReplyDeletewell, that's only part of it, here's the part starting with Auburn
ReplyDeleteAuburn_Tigers_Radio_Stations.aspx
not the same one I was thinking of, but should find one out of the list that works...thanks.
ReplyDeleteThe Lady Dogs?
ReplyDeleteI hope that announcer said that with a straight face.
Hunter Morris ties it up for AU (5-5) in the 7th with a single ... runners on corners, 1 out ...
ReplyDeleteTaylor Thompson has retired all 4 he's faced in relief.
What was that shot?
ReplyDeletemy link is freefootballradio.com; i think it carries all sports.
ReplyDeleteJGT,
ReplyDeleteI don't think NASCAR starts until 4, will keep you updated.
"and the cars continue to travel at a frenetic pace in an oval formation"
ReplyDeletetie games late in the action are not what I wanted on the court or the diamond...
ReplyDeleteGO TIGERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"This is Chris Economaki in the pits, and I can't hear crap!"
ReplyDeleteBaseball team just went up a run (6-5)...
ReplyDeleteBrian Fletcher infield single to left side to score go-ahead run (6-5) ... runners on 1st and 2nd, one out.
ReplyDeleteUGA ahead 47-46 with 8 min to go.
ReplyDeleteAnother run for the Tigers...two still on.
ReplyDeleteKevin Patterson singles to left to plate another, takes 2nd on the throw home ... 7-5 ...1 out, runners 2nd and 3rd.
ReplyDeleteTop 3 batters in the order ... 7-12, 4 RBI, 6 runs scored.
Is UGA a bad match-up for the AU ladies, or are they just not playing up to the same level that they were playing at earlier in the season?
ReplyDeleteauburnsports.com spoke to Oku; no news to report.
ReplyDeleteyay go ladies!
ReplyDeleteTigers leave 2 on base ... but score 3 runs on 4 hits with one Elon error.
ReplyDeleteAFter 7,
AU 7
Elon 5
Auburn women up 54-51, 3:05 to go.
ReplyDeleteHillyard looks like she is PAIN!
ReplyDeleteOUCH!
ReplyDeleteDoesn't look good for Hilliard ...
ReplyDeleteAU surrenders leadoff double in 8th
And Coach Fortner looks PO'd. A very physical game.
ReplyDeleteNasty injury here. Chantel Hilliard, having the best game of her young career, is down with a left-knee injury.
ReplyDeleteShe was carried off the court.
I guess they can't stop the game when a girl is on the floor screaming under the basket. I mean, what???
ReplyDeleteOle Miss just beat Vandy? Wow
ReplyDeleteJet - thanks for the beisbol updates
ReplyDeleteOh No! I was hoping she had caught an elbow to the noggin. Looks like a knee
Can't stand prosperity ... Thompson gives a leadoff double, a single and another double ... 7-6 with runners on 2nd and 3rd , no one out.
ReplyDeleteAuburn women up three points with 1:00 to go.
ReplyDeleteWanted - pitchers and offensive lineman
ReplyDeleteTaylor Thompson, the pride of Gump and Saint James, is offered the opportunity to rinse the stench of this inning from his body ... Austin Hubbard sent in as the cleaner.
ReplyDeleteHubbard cleans it up well, serving up the 3 run jack to clean off the bases ... Elon 9, AU 7, Pawolowski on verge of stroke.
ReplyDeleteJay they should do the soccer thing where they intentionally kick the ball out of bounds to take care of the injured player. Btw you gonna watch the Man U match on tuesday?
ReplyDeleteNice Vandy lost.
ReplyDeleteAuburn now up by five points with :44 remaining.
ReplyDeleteSmalley!-That was huge
ReplyDelete1st place.
ReplyDeleteLookin that way, jhag.
ReplyDeleteWAR EAGLE!!!! AUBURN WOMENs Basketball!!!
ReplyDeleteNow, AU baseball... it's time to GO GET 'EM TIGERS!!!
After playing Mitch Williams on his first pitch, Austin Hubbard turns into Mariano Rivera by ending the threat.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, pins don't go back in grenades, heading to the bottom of the eighth, the AU Good Guys trail the Former Fightin' Christians, now pagan Phoenix of Elon, 9-7.
Vandy had a let down after the big win?
ReplyDeleteWAR EAGLE!!!
ReplyDeleteAuburn wins, 65-59.
ReplyDeleteProbably clinched the SEC with this one.
Bye for now-got to go make burgers.
ReplyDeleteNice job, Lady Tigers
ReplyDeleteJGT, have you heard anything about Hilliard's injury other than that we saw carried off the court?
Baseball team is the pitts as of now.
ReplyDeleteWar Eagle, Lady Tigers!
ReplyDeleteHilliard's injury looked very bad.
ReplyDeleteStill waiting to speak with Fortner.
The Senator's baseball play-by-play is entertaining. Can we get him to replace Rod?
ReplyDeleteNOthing doing for AU in the 8th ... and batters 1-2 were HBP and popped out.
ReplyDeleteSweet, sassy, molassy, what a horrible idea, Depressed.
ReplyDeletenice work ladies. keep it up. WDE!
ReplyDeleteSen., that sounds like a non-denial to me. Are you talking in circles in sports-announcer talk or politician talk?
ReplyDeletehomemade curry stuff and homemade miso soup for supper. No doubt I'll need some ice cream afterwards.
ReplyDeletewho was it cooking good ol' burgers? throw one on the grill for me.
ReplyDeleteAustin Hubbard ...
ReplyDeleteFirst pitch, 3-run jack
Then retires 6 in a row ...
Last dance, last chance ...
Morris, Fletcher and Patterson to bat for AU
I prefer the quiet life of a fan -- screaming my head off.
ReplyDeleteTHT, worst part of going to Disney World is NO sweet tea. First time I asked for sweet tea to drink, the waitress looked at me with a blank stare. I knew then I was in trouble.
ReplyDeleteHunter Morris is a man ... leadoff HR ... 9-8 in favor of Elon.
ReplyDeleteJet, still sounds like a non-denial denial to me.
ReplyDelete(And I lived through the Nixon years)
Disney World has sweet tea if you know where to look...
ReplyDeleteis that 2 for Morris today?
ReplyDeleteBrian Fletcher doubles to CF ... no one out ... LET ME HEAR YA' WHEREVER YOU ARE!
ReplyDeletedepressed,
ReplyDeleteyou gotta flirt with the waitress to get a little sugar in your tea...
too many yanks runnin the show in DW
ReplyDeleteMorris 3-5, 2 HR, 3 runs, 4 RBI
ReplyDeleteCOME ON TIGERS!!! PLATE SOME RUNS!!!
ReplyDeletePatterson plunked ... 1swt and 2nd, no out.
ReplyDeleteKristina, you have my attention. Where is this mystical place in the happiest place on earth that has sweet tea?
ReplyDeleteJet,
ReplyDeleteLive blogging the baseball game? You are the MAN. Our new sideline reporter, The Hon. Sen from AL, Jetarski.
How does our pitching look?
Sincere thanks as always JGT.
ReplyDeleteAnd a big welcome back to you.
Mdaniel ... like our OL and WR play.
ReplyDeleteJet,
ReplyDeleteTHAT bad? I thought our new coach would bring a little new flavor to the game.
Must have had WP ... runners 2nd and 3rd, Gilmer PHs and Ks.
ReplyDelete1 out.
can't we just get a 3run tater and be done with it?
ReplyDeleteD. Miller, if that is the secret, I am a lost cause. No time for flirting for sweet tea when I have my touring plan to study, my park map with the new updates to look over, pictures to take, money to(try) to budget etc. Sacrifices must be made to maximize quality time at the parks.
ReplyDeleteHow do you shoot a 62 for the Saturday round, and come to 14 on Sunday +2 for the day?
ReplyDeleteWell, depressed, Columbia Harbour House and Cosmic Rays in the Magic Kingdom has it, I think. Garden Grill at Epcot and Pizzafari at Animal Kingdom. I think the McDonald's stand at Epcot near Canada also has it. Oh and several of the Resort and Downtown Disney restaurants have it.
ReplyDeleteI have read that they are doing test marketing at these places trying to get the go ahead to make it more available.
Sen., as a perk of your new announcing job, Erin Andrews will be avaliable for personal instruction. Unless you choose to tell her no.
ReplyDeleteGame Tracker failes me ... Hargett strikes out ... and we get the 3rd out ...
ReplyDeleteElon wins, 9-8
Depressed ...
ReplyDeleteFor the team, I'll do it.
see, I let my wife handle all of that stuff, depressed... I just sit back and enjoy myself... I can't do without the sweet tea.
ReplyDeletewell, rats.
ReplyDeleteJay GT and Jet - thanks so much for the live updates.
I tell Mrs THT the Elon-AU score... she responds (in reference to the pagans) "I hope they get lost coming home."
It's pretty bad when Elon wins 2 of 3. I think we might suck.
ReplyDeleteHas anyone mentioned the BC coaching situation?
ReplyDeleted.miller - you let the wife flirt with the waitress so you can get sweet tea? That's funny.
ReplyDeletedown 1, and have runners on 2nd & 3rd with nobody out... and we can't tie it up?
ReplyDeleteever heard of a squeeze bunt? sheesh...
It is going to be a Loooooong year on the plains for the beisbol team
whatever it takes THT...
ReplyDeleteKristina, I had no idea there were so many options avaliable for sweet tea lovers. On a side note, how sad is it to have test marketing done to determine whether or not to offer sweet tea? That should be a given.
ReplyDeleted miller runners were at 2nd and 3rd with 1 out
ReplyDeleteI will do some more recon for you in December, depressed. ;-)
ReplyDeleteKristina, you are going back in December? That is my favorite time of year to go. Last time we went, we spent the day at Blizzard Beach. Temp was around 80, low crowds and a wonderful water park. I am envious.
ReplyDeleteCan't beat Elon? Jeez.
ReplyDeleteYeah we're going the second week. I haven't been during Christmas in a loooong time so I am really looking forward to it.
ReplyDeleteGotta try to manuever a whole platoon as there are 13 of us going. I have a feeling a few won't survive. Disney World ain't the Marines and I am all about leaving people behind...
I sense you're being facetious, JGT...
ReplyDeleteCan we get the Zooperstars for the HABOTN tailgate this fall? Make this happen, Jay G.
ReplyDeleteWelcome back JG, and congrats on beating out David Oku. My bet was you would return before he would sign, and you seem to have beat him out easily.
ReplyDeleteWelcome back Jay, once again thanks for all you do. I hope all the hotties had a fantastic weekend, I sat the weekend out on the blogosphere and decided to hit the slopes for a couple days. It's good to be back...and feeling the heat.
ReplyDeleteOh and a big War Eagle to the women's basketball team on bouncing back in a big way.
ReplyDeleteNo word on Chantel Hilliard.
ReplyDeleteBonner and Fortner said they didn't know anything substantive and wouldn't until scans are taken tomorrow.
Thanks JGT. I was about to ask about her.
ReplyDeleteMackerel Jordan appeared for a spot during the second half. That rascal ate a "Georgia assistant coach" and spat him out with only his drawers.
ReplyDeleteThose silly Zoops!
that woulda been funny to have a picture of!
ReplyDeleteAny word on Travesha Jackson's injury? Didn't you say she had some sort of leg injury too?
Hopefully Chantel's injury isn't as serious as it seems people think it might be...
Hmmm, queit night. It is way too quiet. Seeing as it is the off season, also known as baseball season, I thought it proper to be constructive, so I propose we come up with saying about players. We can then assign them to the proper player as the season rolls on. For instants ....
ReplyDeleteHe is slower than David Oku on signing day.
Or maybe something a little more close to home.
He disappeared quicker than Greg Smith.
Do engineers take English classes?
ReplyDeleteNell said Trevesha's suffering from "old knees." No real injury. Just overuse strain.
ReplyDeleteWill "old knees" heal enough before March Madness?
ReplyDeleteThanks for that update, Jay GT.
ReplyDeleteVery quiet, indeed. I'm watching lots of MASH episodes.
Thanks JGT... if you hear anything on Hilliard's injury let us know, please.
ReplyDeleteOmnica, I don't know if you have seen the latest Big Love, but you will really want to see this episode. I thought things would get a bit boring with Anna out of the picture. That was far from the truth. This was a jaw dropping episode.
ReplyDeleteSteve, I felt like I was watching Clark Grizwald and his three wives on vacation to honor Joseph Smith. Always the highlight of my TV week.
ReplyDeleteTHT, who is showing old MASH episodes? Never will forget the first time I watched the Goodbye, Henry Blake episode. Shocking even to this day.
ReplyDeleteWasn't it fantastic, fellas!!!
ReplyDeleteThis show just has the best writing. Just when you're ready to really hate them they circles wagons. I love all the twisted twists.
My favorite line of the night.
"Mommy that man was scary"
"He was baptist. They're all scary"
LOL
Glad you are back from your furlough , jay.
ReplyDeleteI keep hearing the theme song to "Welcome back Mr. Carter" reading all of the messages. I guess we are all like the sweat hogs.
ReplyDeleteGood to have you back JGT.
Congrats Lady Tigers. Nice vision and on CNF part.
Monica, when I heard that line it reminded me of what I had been told about Mormons in the Baptist churches through the years. I thought the Ben and Margene saga was over. How did that manage to come back around? Is it the new blond hair?
ReplyDeletedepressed - MASH on some network I've never watched before....ION
ReplyDeletechannel 22 on Time Warner Cable in my neighborhood
AUMom, those old knees get a week off. Next game isn't until next Sunday.
ReplyDeleteShocked to see Heath Ledger win for Best Supporting Actor.
ReplyDelete/sarcasm.
Depressed- Earlier episode of MASH now starting on TV Land
ReplyDeleteJay G, are you watching for yourself or with Mrs Jay G? I don't know enough about most of the movies to even try watching.
ReplyDeleteThanks THT, I am turning now. Love me some old MASH episodes. Why is it on most all programs, the older the better? Is it just me?
ReplyDeleteI love the old MASH too, depressed.
ReplyDeleteRE: Margene and Ben - seeing each other butt nekid has that effect. Not to mention that hot little bikini she was sporting.
Can someone tell me how to go about getting into the A-Day Game? Do they sell tickets to this? Any info for the game would be great.
ReplyDelete
