It's A-Day ... today.

Hey everyone. Auburn holds its 14th spring practice annual A-Day Game today at 1 p.m.

I'm sure many of the HOTTIES will be in attendance. I will not ... for reasons we've already discussed for too often. My man Bag Moon will be there to chronicle the day's events for you all ... in the newspaper.

I'll see if I can get him to post on the blog as well.

For those of you who will be there, definitely post your observations in the comments section. I'd love to keep up with the game here.

  1. Good grief, two for two!

See you at the A-Day game! I'll be the one with the HP graphing calculator and slide rule to keep track of the score.

  2. David,

    Are you in Opelika?

    ReplyDelete
  3. What happens if Brent Poole is clearly the best QB on the field today?

Not having the QBs live is kinda bogus.

    ReplyDelete
  4. I wanna know if I can bring in a DSLR to the game!!!

    ReplyDelete
  5. When and why exactly did spring practice games become television worthy???

    ReplyDelete
  6. Mon, they didn't.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Jet in Opelika ... soon.

This is killing me. Absolutely killing me. Just killing me.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Any way to watch this game w/o Comcast?

    ReplyDelete
  9. I guess I don't had CSS!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  10. I agree, EZ. Are you going to the game?

    ReplyDelete
  11. Someone needs to find a way before I go crazy

    ReplyDelete
  12. jhag, make sure on the top-left of the page here.

If nobody comes up with a solution today, I can get a tape of it to you on Monday, since I'll be in your area.

    ReplyDelete
  13. If you have cbssports all access password, the game will be on there. It will also be on the radio. Try WMSP.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Do you get it over by you Peter?

    ReplyDelete
  15. I saw with my own eyes Marcus Lattimore drinking up in Tallahassee when I was up there two weeks ago I should have reported it to the NCAA...these kids were talking FSU football to him and the kid was rather impaired.

    ReplyDelete
  16. I'm stuck in a Birmingham hotel room, surrounded by the Bammer faithful with no access to the real A-Day game, this blows.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Same here seanzie....

My prediction: JUSTIN ALBERT will win MVP.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Kick-off is coming!

    ReplyDelete
  19. Caudle is playing

    ReplyDelete
  20. Good to hear, Kodi took first snap?

    ReplyDelete
  21. Kodi took first drive. he and Tate have been switching out with Caudle and Albert

    ReplyDelete
  22. Touchdown Tate 10 yards

    ReplyDelete
  23. Before that Fanin caught a 40 yard pass.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Radio coverage at the usual places for those who can't get it on TV.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Kodi horrible throw, Fannin saves him by snatching it from defender.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Yes. I'm listening to it on WJOX 94.5

    ReplyDelete
  27. people there have said lower area pretty packed, but upper deck is closed.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Attendance looks pretty slim
    hard to tell how many

    ReplyDelete
  29. Onterio returning kicks...

    ReplyDelete
  30. Dang the slim crowd CANT be good for the recruits there

    ReplyDelete
  31. Caudle not getting it done 3 and out second time in there

    ReplyDelete
  32. Durst just punted 50 yards with good hang time

    ReplyDelete
  33. 70 yard end around Zachary TD

    ReplyDelete
  34. How can we even field two o-lines? We can't can we

    ReplyDelete
  35. 70 yard TD McCalebb reverse

    ReplyDelete
  36. If the defense is ahead of the offense someone better tell the offense.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Wait our offense scored two TD's...must be lying

    ReplyDelete
  38. Annoucers said Zachary I don't know.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I may have heard it on the radio wrong. probably zachery

    ReplyDelete
  40. Jhag, that's three TDs

    ReplyDelete
  41. Announcers saying Caudle looks good, but bad luck with the second team, what say you watchers?

    ReplyDelete
  42. So to those fortunate enough to have CSS is it safe to say this offense looks legit so far?

    ReplyDelete
  43. Caudle is not getting protection. Plus one of his sacks was due to a high snap and a bull rush.

    ReplyDelete
  44. it looked like the TDs came against the 2nd D with walk-on and backups primarily on the field. caudle has been the victim of poor blocking from backups and a bad snap. drops and drops. the WRs better get ready to do some running.

    ReplyDelete
  45. This offense LOOKS like the real thing. If we have a decent defense it looks great.

    ReplyDelete
  46. 2 Drops and a fall down. Not real smooth.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Well Chip considering we struggled against the same caliber players @ MSU, Southern Miss and even LaMo last season, I will take these scoring plays.

    ReplyDelete
  48. i do like the way they are competing on offense. i just feel like the big plays came against walk-ons and backups that we should hope never see the field much this year.

    ReplyDelete
  49. i can't agrue. gimmie points any way we can get em.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Jhag, there will always be mixed opinions, but that makes it fun.

    ReplyDelete
  51. kodi threw what should have been an INT and fannin caught it off the deflection.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Sucks that Trotter is gone for the year, but he should get another redshirt and preserve his eligibility.

    ReplyDelete
  53. tate has looked good. i think it is the fastest i've ever seen him run.

    ReplyDelete
  54. jhag, yeah, I get it on the west coast. I'm not home right now, but set the dvr. I'll make you a tape if you want to watch it this week.

    ReplyDelete
  55. I can't tell which defense is on the field, but I am sure the first tD came against the no. 1 defense.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Well keep in mind we're down to a skeleton crew in the secondary.

    ReplyDelete
  57. This is going too fast. about 34 minutes for a half.

    ReplyDelete
  58. trotter being hurt just means there is indeed a 1% chance rollison or mosley sees the field this year.

    ReplyDelete
  59. I feel like it's going to be Caudle, and I would prefer the opportunity for the long ball, even risking turnovers.

    ReplyDelete
  60. i saw sample, henderson, bell and some other numbers i didn't recognize on just about all the TDs.

    ReplyDelete
  61. They just showed a replay and it was terrel Zachery on the TD end around.

    ReplyDelete
  62. it looked like caudle's drives were the ones where toro, coleman, goggins, ricks, blanc, thorpe etc. were on the field.

    ReplyDelete
  63. The offense is definitely fast and no look over to the bench.

    ReplyDelete
  64. PF ... I am putting in an order for one of those tapes. I'll pay the shipping.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Feed me. Need info.

    ReplyDelete
  66. back to the bedroom with CSS.

    ReplyDelete
  67. No activity right now half time.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Is it August yet?

    ReplyDelete
  69. Albert slammed down 2 yards

    ReplyDelete
  70. Yeah i'll pay shipping thatd be awesome.

    ReplyDelete
  71. I can't find it on radio online im retarded lil help over here please

    ReplyDelete
  72. Wait I think ive got it

    ReplyDelete
  73. Watched the first half..... .

Not real impressed with either QB..... In fact we don't have a QB IMHO

    LT

    ReplyDelete
  74. Good long pass by Kodi should have been caught.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Kodi has had some good long throws too; Caudle has not been the only one hurt by WR drops. Winter just dropped a long one from Kodi

    ReplyDelete
  76. Is it halftime because on 740 im getting Sweet Home Alabama playing?

    ReplyDelete
  77. McCalebb Took it all the way

    ReplyDelete
  78. didn't recognize many defensive starters out there though. OM ran it untouched right up the middle. caudle was in with the starting OL.

    ReplyDelete
  79. i don't think winter dropped it. i think cole deflected it on the replay.

    ReplyDelete
  80. No complaints with the running game though.

    LT

    ReplyDelete
  81. Hmmm, I just tuned in to 740 and the A-Day game sounds a lot like Van Halen singing Jump.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Same here Steve i can't find this damn game

    ReplyDelete
  83. caudle to fannin TD

    ReplyDelete
  84. DANGEROUS Pass...... 8 out of 10 thats an INT.

    Nice little TD though

    LT

    ReplyDelete
  85. Caudle long pass to the 3 yard 45 yards Caudle to Fannin short TD pass

    ReplyDelete
  86. nice passes by caudle on that drive.

    ReplyDelete
  87. This must be 3rd team D cause no way we score this often

    ReplyDelete
  88. caudle did almost hit the underneath LB and it was tipped right to the WR one first play of the drive. good otherwise.

    ReplyDelete
  89. The JOX feed just died on me. Now I'm upset.

    ReplyDelete
  90. It looks like the Alabama defense jsut great plays. J/K

    ReplyDelete
  91. Holding call AJ Green

    ReplyDelete
  92. A little more air under that ball its gone to the house......

    LT

    ReplyDelete
  93. Anyone can dare to watch the Alabama A-day game? Im kinda tempted but it will probaly just piss me off

    ReplyDelete
  94. How long was Onterio's run?

    ReplyDelete
  95. 3 and out long pass just over thrown

    ReplyDelete
  96. kodi is now running with #2 OL.

    ReplyDelete
  97. jhag, know thy enemy.

    ReplyDelete
  98. Maybe Chicago and Boston will go into 10 overtimes and the Alabama Spring Game wont air on espn

    ReplyDelete
  99. So, it sounds like the offense is doing well. Is it our offense is catching up with our defense, our has our defense adjusted itself to be on the same level as our offense?

    ReplyDelete
  100. I'd rather watch Paint Dry that the UAT game.

    LT

    ReplyDelete
  101. Steve, Chicken or the Egg?

    ReplyDelete
  102. Any chance we could get video of Tony Franklin played explaining how he was an idiot played on the jumbotron between plays? It could be inspirational.

    ReplyDelete
  103. jox feed died on me too. i cant find another online

    ReplyDelete
  104. WOW this Celtics/Bulls game is crazy!

    ReplyDelete
  105. All the bammer fans are flipping out right now their little practice was suppoused to be on ESPN 20 minutes ago hahaa

    ReplyDelete
  106. Fannin is a BEAST!!!

Nice Long Pass by Caudle!!!! Tight spiral on the money for TD!

    LT

    ReplyDelete
  107. Finally a QB that can throw a damn touchdown.

    ReplyDelete
  108. celtics bulls OT bye bye Bammer ESPN

    ReplyDelete
  109. Oooh, Boston goes into overtime. Man, you could have ignorant rednecks beating the crap out of their wives all over northern Alabama over this one.

    ReplyDelete
  110. .... To add to Seanzie- one that can throw one of more than 5 yards.....

    LT

    ReplyDelete
  111. Cotton were you watching that? I yelled so loud when he missed that free throw..the bammers have to be so pissed off

    ReplyDelete
  112. I think traffic just stopped in Birmingham.

    ReplyDelete
  113. Anyone else getting C R A P from W J O X?

    ReplyDelete
  114. waao 103.7 works

    ReplyDelete
  115. Man, Bama game not on TV because of a big baby. Never thought that would happen.

    ReplyDelete
  116. Cotton, link it up sir!

    ReplyDelete
  117. im praying for 2 OTs.

    ReplyDelete
  118. Repeat......

    Fannin = BEAST

    LT

    ReplyDelete
  119. http://www.waao.com/

    listen live option

    ReplyDelete
  120. Cotton, you the man.

    ReplyDelete
  121. http://www.waao.com/

i found it!! Brent Poole is in the game oh my

    ReplyDelete
  122. Everyone plays in the spring game.

    ReplyDelete
  123. people who pronounce Auburn as O-burn, make me mad.

    ReplyDelete
  124. WES BRYUM made a FG? what!

    ReplyDelete
  125. Hey, I am having trouble connecting to WAAO. Would all of you mind disconnecting so I can hear the game?

    ReplyDelete
  126. no problem. Celtics Bulls tie game still in OT. 1:03 left. please please please keep on goin

    ReplyDelete
  127. Field goals from 46 are a bonus.... Right down the middle.

45,000 attending the game - that's good.. no more than 8 or 9,000 when I was in school

    LT

    ReplyDelete
  128. Eh, I dont think everyone should play this is isn't little league =)

    ReplyDelete
  129. Steve make sure you hit play.

    ReplyDelete
  130. jhag, he must have shanked it off the side of his foot or something.

    ReplyDelete
  131. Steve, try your luck with one of these.
    http://auburntigers.cstv.com/sponsorship/aub-footbl-affiliates.html

    ReplyDelete
  132. Who the hell is this Michael Alexander kid?
I thought i knew everyone on Auburn's roster...some of these names I have no idea

    ReplyDelete
  133. Just keeps saying connecting and for some reason shaking my monitor doesn't seem to help. Hmmm, works for etch-a-sketch.

    ReplyDelete
  134. Only 30 seconds left Steve...and it's a running clock.

    ReplyDelete
  135. So I was able to listen to the last 4 minutes of Brent Poole throwing to the inturmal players

    ReplyDelete
  136. Byrum for 51...final play.

    ReplyDelete
  137. That's it!!

    AUBURN WINS!!!!!

    LT

    ReplyDelete
  138. byrum missed a 51 yarder to end it.

    ReplyDelete
  139. That was over too quick.

    ReplyDelete
  140. So who wins the job? I think Neil is the man come fall.

    ReplyDelete
  141. I can't wait to hear feedback from recruits

    ReplyDelete
  142. it was hard to say at QB. both looked better when going with the #1 OL.

    ReplyDelete
  143. 45,000+ attendance...better then last year I would imagine

    ReplyDelete
  144. Boston takes TO with 11.6 seconds left. Down 2. This is the only time i will ever cheer fro the celtics (to tie, at least)

    ReplyDelete
  145. both made passes that should have been INTs.

    ReplyDelete
  146. This is classic right here..the Bama spring game was suppoused to be on almost 40 minutes ago!

    ReplyDelete
  147. It may have Jhag, the sidewalk fans will just be SOL.

    ReplyDelete
  148. overall the offense took it to the D. i'm still not sure how many D starters played all that much. thompson and cole had some nice plays at saftey. el toro shut down an option that looked like it was going to be a good play.

    ReplyDelete
  149. Man, I could have went down there and watched the game. My spouse mandated function won't begin until 5 CDT.

    ReplyDelete
  150. Come the fall you can bet Todd will be in the mix. The QB race is likely far from over.

    ReplyDelete
  151. I take it A-Day game is over?

    ReplyDelete
  152. i was especially impressed with the play of WRs. still some dropsies, but overall much better than at any point the last few years.

    ReplyDelete
  153. Steve, I think you're wrong there. I don't think Todd will be in the mix at all.

    ReplyDelete
  154. Close, but Ray Allen's shot rims out as time expires. Chicago wins.
Let's hope ESPN milks these last few minutes as long as possible.

    ReplyDelete
  155. Seanzie, you could be right, but he is probably the best shot we have at a QB, although it may not be a good shot.

    ReplyDelete
  156. I suppose 40 minutes late is better than 40 minutes early. The whole 1st quarter has been missed

    ReplyDelete
  157. I disagree, I think Caudle could be a great QB if he can cut down on throwing into coverage, that's easy to fix. On the other hand, Todd and his Robocop shoulder and 1 year left doesn't add much upside at all. I think they're going to look for continuity as well as playmaking ability.

    ReplyDelete
  158. Saban looks ridiculous out there on the field in his grey suit

    ReplyDelete
  159. So, for those of you that saw the game, in 500 words or less please describe the difference between this offense and the Franklin Experience.

    ReplyDelete
  160. Saban looks ridiculous regardless. His hair and general attitude is very carnival/sideshow like.

    ReplyDelete
  161. Passing stats for the Big 2:

Neil Caudle was 11-of-16 for 161 yards
Kodi Burns 3-of-8 for 48 yards

    ReplyDelete
  162. I don't get why kids would want to play for him

    ReplyDelete
  163. So it's gonna be Caudle

    ReplyDelete
  164. Caudle's stats look pretty good, but what impressions did you get from watching him?

    ReplyDelete
  165. Caudle also with a pair of TDs.

    ReplyDelete
  166. Wow. Over the radio Kodi sounded much better than that. I didnt think there was a single incompletion the first drive, which Kodi led. there were at least 3 complete passes right there, I thought.

    ReplyDelete
  167. It really is nice to see Caudle get his shot. The kid went through a lot with knee surgeries and I think Franklin may have let him carry a clipboard, but that was about it.

    ReplyDelete
  168. I wouldn't decide the QB race based upon just this game. The thing you want to see with QBs is consistency. It will be interesting to see how Malzahn evaluates things.

    ReplyDelete
  169. Unbiasly thinking...not many people are watching this bama game it is veeeeeeeeeeeeeeery boring...7-0 and almost halftime

    ReplyDelete
  170. Franklin obviously was the epitome of offensive genius and decision making.

    ReplyDelete
  171. I don't exactly think Franklin was a bad coach. I think he was in the wrong environment. The styles of the offensive coaches was just too different from what he wanted to do.

In a sense, I believe he was bad because I think he lacked the people skills to sell the coaches on what he wanted to do.

    ReplyDelete
  172. Looks like we'll be able to distribute the football to other folks this season, hopefully our new staff will make sure the ball gets to the playmakers.

    ReplyDelete
  173. Well Steve you are right up to a point, but the guy played favorites, didn't make friends, alienated just about everyone and appeared totally incompetent in front of the media. He was also a system guy and not a gameplanning/scheme guy. Those guys have no plan B.

    ReplyDelete
  174. I hope Jay is having fun

    ReplyDelete
