Looking forward to some good stuff the next few days. Will there be any attempted arrests this year?

    War Eagle!

  13. Nevermind jet, that looks like a "nice" restaurant.

My rugrats in nice restaurants produce shenanigans akin to Jake & Elwood in Chez Paul.

(the reviews I saw were virtually all 5 stars)

  14. Ehyou ...

I'll be there Aug 5-7 for a conference. Firefly is my dinner plan one night after a special "18-part" environmental study.

  15. I learned today not to accidentally copy an HR manager on a personal email that contains the letters WTF.

Eff yeah, though, FOOTBALL season is here.

PF - WTF means Why the Face right? At least that would be my explanation to HR.

  17. Dude, I LOVE 18 part environmental studies. Can't believe I'm gonna miss it.

  18. Anyone tried that mint firefly yet?? Havent' been able to find it. Buy yourself a 4 pack of le fin du monde. It's a new beer we have deemed appropriate to emancipate here in Alabama.

  27. anyone else listening to 740 today online? their feed is horrid today.

    ReplyDelete
  28. nope, but I did get to watch the last 30 minutes of the Tour.

    ReplyDelete
  29. yep, it was a very bad connection for me too, Scottie

    ReplyDelete
  30. THT, between the scratchy connection i think i heard that Lance is back down to 5th place in the tour. is that correct? he was only 1:37 back from first last nite.

oh, well Mon. i'll click over to secsports.com later today when the interviews start.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Lance is 4th The Schleck brothers passed him today. He may be able to catch them in the time trial while holding off teammate Kloden and the Brit, Wiggins, both of whom are excellent time trial riders. There's a huge climb on Saturday. It's a certainty Contador will win the Tour, barring a catastrophe, but the other spots on the podium are completely unsettled.

  32. 740 stream is frequently crappy for me.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I would choose talk radio over an onion, but not much else

    ReplyDelete
  34. wow. Lance lost over 2 minutes today. now behind the leader by 3:55.

back in college i did my share of mountain biking and road biking. there wasn't anything scarier to me than almost being run off the road by an 18-wheeler while in full spandex attire. thus, i have a very pretty and expensive decoration hanging in my garage.

  36. nice Sensi. aren't you headed to Media Days?

    ReplyDelete
  37. Sensi..

I disagree about LSU's schedule. They have a very tough in conference schedule this year.

    At UGA
    Florida the next week
    Auburn always plays them tough
    At Alabama
    At Ole Miss

They may be the most talented but they won't win the west IMO.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Anonymous11:24 AM

No media days for me, fellas. Packing up and moving.

    ReplyDelete
  39. that's what i was thinking. that's an awfully busy week.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Anonymous11:27 AM

    Good points, FSJ.

My pick for LSU is a product of the opinions expressed on the blog and of a desire to bet the other way from what most experts are saying. That road schedule is tough, but manageable.

I don't expect any team to get out of the SEC unscathed this year.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Anonymous11:28 AM

And before I get skewered for it, I took a long hiatus, but have dropped my protests and decided to return to what is generally a reasonable place to discuss Auburn, the SEC, puppets, and recipes.

    :-)

    ReplyDelete
  42. GO TIME....ooooooooo yes

    ReplyDelete
  43. Protests? We don't need no stinking protests!!! I am officially protesting protests until the protests stop.

    ReplyDelete
  44. What were you protesting, Sensi?

    ReplyDelete
  45. Anonymous11:46 AM

    Insanity, Sean.

No worries. I'm glad to smell football in the air again.

Feel free to agree or disagree with my take on the SEC.

    ReplyDelete
  46. i'm not going to believe in Ole Miss until i see it. their favorable schedule makes me believe they can be an average SEC team and make it out 9-3, though. beat Bama and/or LSU and i'll sip the Hotty Toddy kool-aid. till them i'm a hater!

    speaking of, HATE BAMA!

    ReplyDelete
  47. SEC media circus interests me even less than high school kids' unofficial visits. I have no doubt JayGT's reporting & writing prowess will turn a yawner into something interesting. Of course, some fisticuffs between Little Kiffin and any other coach couldn't hurt, either.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I like LSU in the west.

Bama's strength last season was their running game. They lost a lot on the offensive line and won't be able to repeat that performance. They also have a new QB.

Ole Miss is Ole Miss and were inconsistent. They lost to Vandy and South Carolina if I remember correctly. They are my number 2 choice because I think they will likely lose a game they shouldn't.

    ReplyDelete
  49. I am assuming that Jefferson will be the man at LSU and that Chavis will have LSU back to form defensively.

    ReplyDelete
  50. I should also mention another thing. I think the Miles, at some point, is going to make a Dubosian decision that costs his team dearly. I have been waiting for it.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Anonymous12:15 PM

I've done it myself so, this next comment is as much for me as it is for anyone else.

It is very passe to criticize Les Miles as a kook or idiot. The man can coach. He can recruit talent in players and coaches.

Let's end this Les Miles is Crazy thing.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Everyone says Miles is crazy and he's going to make a bad call at some point...but he hasn't done it yet at LSU.

Until he does it, I think he's a good/great coach.

    ReplyDelete
  53. agreed Sensi. just b/c he can't choose the correct cap size doesn't mean he's a kook. he just may look like one. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  54. Les Miles is crazy.

    ReplyDelete
  55. He's a winner...I'd take crazy on our sidelines with the tiny kids cap as long as we win games at the clip that LSU seems to be winning them.

    ReplyDelete
  56. I kinda like the Les Miles is crazy thing. It's fun. Plus its an easier way to explain his luck. And you must agree that that man is rather lucky. Well you don't have to agree. But ya could

    ReplyDelete
  57. exactly

not to mention, i think all head coaches are a little crazy. you'd have to be a little nuts to do that job.

    ReplyDelete
  58. I think LSU will win the SECW, despite their schedule, because my upbringing won't allow me to say who I really think has the inside track.

I hate 'em even more now.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Why are media days held in B'ham?

    ReplyDelete
  60. Anonymous12:51 PM

    New threads are up.

SEC HQ is in B'Ham, Mon.

    ReplyDelete
  61. LSU has 13 returning starters people...
