  2. Random late night post? Awesome. So, anyway, SyFy is a dumb abreviation for the science-fiction channel.

    ReplyDelete
  3. There was an impromptu beer pong tourney going on at my apartment tonight when I got home. As much as I enjoyed the football talk, I'll be happy to be back in my domain soon enough.

    ReplyDelete
  4. waddup PF? I was way off on the cruitin' buzz but so it goes. Thing is, I talked to someone in the know and he said that the Owens thing even confused him.

    ReplyDelete
  5. Oh yeah, the syfy thing is weird. I 've got an idea. How about SciFi. Ding!!!

    ReplyDelete
  6. What's barely more than zero interest? That's what I have in recruiting news this time of year. Season starts in just over a month, though, which interests me greatly.

    ReplyDelete
  7. I don't care if they call it StirFry as long as they keep showing Star Trek Next Gen.

  8. 36 days until kickoff

Today's HABOTN Kickoff Kountdown is dedicated to the memory of Greg Pratt.
A native of Albany, GA, Greg was a walk-on transfer from Tennessee State(?); he was slated to be our starting fullback in 1983. Tragically, he died at age 20 on August 20, 1983, after running a series of 440 yd sprints. Shortly before losing consciousness, he told a teammate to tell his mother that he was going to be alright; he was quoting the Lord's Prayer and Psalm 23.

  9. THT, What part of North Carolin are you from? I spent the weekend the western portion exploring the mountains. It was beautiful.

    ReplyDelete
  10. A very good Friday morning to you Hotties. Coming to you live from the beautiful area of 58A at LAX waiting for a 12:50a Pacific time flight back home to the ATL area. Once again, I am so lucky.

    Keep Hate Alive.

  11. WDCWE - I live near Chapel Hill. I grew up in Burlington/Graham and Winston-Salem. Given the option of going east to the beach or west to the mtns, MrsTHT and I will choose the mtns every time.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Norm, have a safe flight.

Aero and WDCWE - I'm gonna finish watching Collateral Damage on USA. Y'all take it on to sunrise.

Good morning, Hotties. It's Friday! It's Friday!

    ReplyDelete
  14. Hi Luv!

Have a great day, full of "walkie talkies" and free of retakes.

    ReplyDelete

Hi, TarHeel! Let's hope my day is full of those! I hope you have a great day too!

    atl,
where did you buy the AU/TN tix, and how much were they?

    D. Miller, we got ours through Total Sports Travel. Actually, that's how we get all of our away game tix. They reserve a room at a motel (usually the same one as the team), provide transporation to and from the game, lunch/dinner and drinks.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Luv, I can't help but have a great day; I don't have to go to work! The kids and I are going to have lunch at Sutton's Drug Store...yummy burgers and fountain diet coke with cherry syrup.

    LUCKY!

What a tragic story about Greg Pratt. But, I guess God had other plans for him.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Man. I don't know what to say. \ 36.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Just be safe, Aero. And come home soon!

Kids, I'm going to get some breakfast. See y'all later.

  21. THT- Very good of you to mention Greg Pratt. I remember hearing stories of that event and how much it really affected the team and all the staff. I heard the old trainer, Herb Waldrip (Scottie B help me if I have his name wrong)talk about Greg dying pretty much right in front of him as he was attending to him. They had Herb come over and tell the story before practice one year and to explain how serious Heat Exhaustion is. Very touching and good person to choose. Keep up the great work.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Good morning, Hotties! (Done in my best Robin William impersonation)

I would love to hear exciting news today. Just a little...

    ReplyDelete
  23. Luv,

Are your neck and back better? And how is Geno? Gaining any weight yet?

    ReplyDelete
  24. Norm ... Welcome back to the land of Grits, Bacon and Biscuits!

    ReplyDelete
  25. Anonymous7:39 AM

Cincy, it is just a little better and I still can't spend much time in front of the computer. I'm going to have a weekly massage until I'm pain-free (can't really afford it, but I'm tired of living this way).

Geno is doing well. His appetite is back and he's just about gained all the weight back he lost. He's having his bandages changed again today. Hopefully, his wound is still healing nicely.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Luv - I'm sorry to hear about your back/neck. I must not have been paying attention earlier. I don't know much about the neck part, but my back pain disappeared when I bought a laptop last fall.

I'm very glad to hear good news on Geno's recovery. He's Auburn tough.

    ReplyDelete
  27. nope Eddie, you're on point with Coach Waldrop. i had him for a class back in the day but didn't realize exactly who he was (when i was a freshman). i would've loved to have talked about those days with him.

THT, i love 'Greg Pratt Day' but can i give an Honorable Mention shout-out to #36 Roderick Hood? i guess i never realized how good he was in college. he's had a solid NFL career so far.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Scottie,

Roderick Hood was good, but not flashy. The way to know if a CB is good, is if you never hear their name during the game. That means they are doing their job.

It's when you hear Horace Willis, Del McGee, Rodney Crayton or Kevin Hobbs name every time a pass is in the air that you worry.

Hood also was a pretty good punt returner.

    ReplyDelete
  29. agreed RK. Hood was a good KR. didn't he team up with Tim Carter on KO Returns? i think so.

i'm hoping Neiko Thorpe becomes a stud. he's certainly got the name to be an AUsome CB.

    ReplyDelete
  30. time for some HATIN....with JG.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Speaking of corners.

Was Larry Casher a underrated corner, or did playing opposite of Rodney Crayton make him look better than he was?

    ReplyDelete
  32. I believe that Hood did return kicks with Carter, but for the most part Carter was the primary guy.

Joe Walkins had one good game as a returner, but was never heard from after that.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Joe Walkins, now that's a name i haven't heard in a while.

Cash-Money? the pride of Blount H.S. i always thought he was solid. not excellent but solid. he was cool the few times i talked to him.

Good morning Peeps! In sunny and blistery VA Beach for my daughters collegiate showcase soccer tournament. 4 days, 1 hotel, many girl teams. Shoot me now.

    Enjoy the weekend!!

    ReplyDelete
  35. Hey Hotties. It's Friday. Bob Marley is singing sweet songs in my head. August starts tomorrow. Football will be here very soon now. I get to reunite with my love in a few days. Life is good. War Eagle.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I'm afraid Larry Casher won't be in 1st chair when his number comes up. The best he can hope for is a shout-out.

    ReplyDelete
  37. if Casher is your top choice when his day arrives, i think the entire HABOTN will revolt THT, me included.

    ReplyDelete
  38. 3rd chair, at best, just in front of Dell McGee

    ReplyDelete
  39. I'm in a good mood this morning, that must mean it's Friday!

    ReplyDelete
  40. JG, i would LOVE to hear your rendition of the JG/Tom Slater confrontation. maybe over a few Yuengling's one day.

    ReplyDelete
  41. AU1N94

I know it sounds corny, but these days will be over so quickly and you will miss them! I never thought I would when I sat in 6 inches of snow watching my son's soccer tourney, or when I packed into a dressing room with 900 dancers and their mothers getting ready for dance competitions with my daughter.

Now I pass by soccer fields with games in full swing and feel such a pang for days gone by. Not enough of a pang to go back, but a pang none the less.

    I envy you today.

    ReplyDelete
  42. sorry, AU1N04, not 94!

    ReplyDelete
  43. Yes, I would love to hear the Slater thing too.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Dell "The Human Ole'" McGee

    Mike "Toast" Pina

    ReplyDelete
  45. Not much to discuss on the air this morning ...

So it goes. Give it a week.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Still a fun show. I like those guys.

    ReplyDelete
  47. I'll discuss the Slater situation at some point.

    ReplyDelete
  48. JG things are about to pick p rapidly. Sorry I missed you all this morning on the radio.

    ReplyDelete
  49. I wouldn't say they're pro-Alabama.

    ReplyDelete
  50. I completed a lot of this HS busywork. I feel better overall.

This should have been a more informative week on the HABOTN. Sometimes things happen ...

    ReplyDelete
  51. Someone got in a fight with AC Slater? You guys talking about Preppie?

    ReplyDelete
  52. i think those segments are better than the Roundtable ones.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Don't worry stuff happens and we move on, looking forward to some good stuff

    ReplyDelete
  54. Speaking of the Roundtable, Bag wants me to come on with him Monday. I'm not sure about that. I kinda burned out that one week earlier this summer.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Good Stuff defined
    Amything about Auburn Football.

    ReplyDelete
  56. If ever a quote was worthy of permanent placement on HABOTN, it is the current quote. Hilarious.

    ReplyDelete
  57. so, which day next week does practice start next week? the 5th, 6th?

    ReplyDelete
  58. I can't see good this am is the m and n close to each other on the keyboard?

    ReplyDelete
  59. "This should have been a more informative week on the HABOTN. Sometimes things happen ..."

JayGT - it's not your fault Dyer, Seastrunk, Owens, Reed, Robinson, & Mosley didn't commit to AU this week.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Heard this morning on early tV that Reed and only 2 others were having to go JCo. Is this true? If so isn't that a pretty small number.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Jay, you are going to have to be on the Auburn Insiders sometime. Sensi, Eddie, and Jay G; it just doesn't get much better than that. Jay G. Tate, the king of all media.

    ReplyDelete
  62. So it's still Friday, I'm hoping for some semblance of news.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Anonymous9:14 AM

Thanks Cincy!! It has been a fun ride and actually can't believe I am watching a tourney today for College purposes.

Just means I am getting older.

    ReplyDelete
  64. J-Z's focus point for the day: Find new and ingenious ways to hate Bama today. Any suggestions?

    ReplyDelete
  65. Anonymous9:19 AM

Crimson is a sally name for a color!!

    ReplyDelete
  66. I have news. Lache Seastrunk has confirmed me as a friend. I am not sure if this makes me one of his crew, but I am in the mix, anyways.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Look at Steve getting some stalker cred...way to go!

    ReplyDelete
  68. Yea, these recruits are really into middle age farts stalking them on the net.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Michael ...

The quote is all the more humorous when viewed in the context of the Manchester Union Leader sports writer's recent arrest on charges of being a pimp.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Wait, are you saying the guy that wrote that is a pimp?

    ReplyDelete
  71. good morn'in pimps and ho's

    ReplyDelete
  72. Undercover has a two deep Auburn depth chart. It is their projection, not something official. Looking at the offensive line, it appears we are okay. Grimes says he has 7 or 8 guys he would feel good about playing, which isn't bad for the OL.

Looking at the linebackers is a different story. We have 4 or 5 we probably would feel okay about. Linebacker is going to be a problem.

    ReplyDelete
  73. They could be one and the same, Michael. We don't know.

So out of all the sports writers in America, of which there much fewer than there were in recent years, I will venture to say, yes, it is the same guy and he's a pimp.

    ReplyDelete
  74. I agree steve. linebacker is the 2nd biggest problem, behind quarterback

    ReplyDelete
  75. QB isn't a problem, we've got Chris Todd, All-World, Car Wash Humiliating QB. Fear Toddzilla.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Anonymous9:41 AM

Side note - And paulmain's pic made me think of it.

My wife bought me a shirt that says "Boobies make me smile!"

On to your regularly scheduled discussion.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Is this the half boob pic the ladies were harping on earlier in the week?

    ReplyDelete
  78. We don't have problems at quarterback.

    We have opportunities.

    ReplyDelete
  79. Anonymous9:44 AM

I would have to say most likely.

    ReplyDelete
  80. I have to say I am a fan.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Track Em Tigers has an interesting article on the QBs. While the article has some obvious flaws, it does mention that Malzahn said he expects to have a decision on the QB in a week or two. I find that hard to believe. Within a couple of weeks I expect the QB race to be narrowed to two, but I don't expect to know the starter until the day of the Louisiana Tech game.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Steve, there is a full blown Chris Todd warning, it's best we stay away from car washes for the next 4-6 months.

    ReplyDelete
  83. Look at Paulmain entering like Lenny and Squiggy

    ReplyDelete
  84. Ladies have problems with the boob kitty pick? Those ladies just are not showing their Auburn spirit. Every lady on here should get a kitty, an orange bra, and show their Auburn spirit.

    ReplyDelete
  85. I think the ladies just find our admiration of the pic very humorous.

    ReplyDelete
  86. It's offically football season for Seanzie, I've signed up and am currently prepping for my fantasy football draft. This year I'm managing my newest team: The Neverland Ranch Refugees.

    ReplyDelete
  87. Tony Franklin said he'd have a decision in a week or two as well.

    ReplyDelete
  88. Well Tony did have a decision. Only problem was he changed that decision almost every week.

    ReplyDelete
  89. 2 Heavyweights, battling it out.

    ReplyDelete
  90. re: Track em Tigers blog

Am I to believe "Jay Coulter" got this quote from Malzahn? It's identical to the one Bryan Matthews ran on his pay site yesterday ...

"With the situation we're in we have to find a guy as soon as possible," Malzahn said. "It's hard to say a certain time right now -- a week or two weeks -- but there will be an evaluation stage fairly quick, ideally, to name a guy as soon as we can once we know 100 percent that's our guy so you can start to develop that timing."

    ReplyDelete
  91. After looking at PMarsh's two deep, it brings three questions to the front of my mind.

    1. We know he's got personality and can recruit. Can Trooper Taylor make chicken salad out of freshmen and a lot of returning players who can gently be called "underachievers?"

    2. Yes, we're thin at linebacker, but what happens if the secondary gets any more injury plagued?

    3. I'm beginning to think we'll be OK in the line, too. (Note to self: agreeing with Steve is dangerous for one's health). We know that Gustav, The No-Calves OC is a designer non pareil of offenses. Can he coach up a QB? Remember, this is a guy who was coaching in high school the last time Neil Caudle played a full season of football.

I'm not pessimistic, but these are hard questions that must be answered.

    ReplyDelete
  92. I think Franklin's two week decision wasn't about the starting QB, but about his level of intelligence.

He was about 4 weeks late when he informed everyone of his decision.

    ReplyDelete
  93. Jet, In Gus' defense, the last time Neil Caudle played a full season of football was 1987.

    ReplyDelete
  94. Anonymous10:19 AM

If I discuss my anger about something.

Will the President of the United States of America, Barack Obama, invite me over for a beer?

    Just askin?

    ReplyDelete
  95. I like the idea of the president having a kegger. It shows he is one of us and feels our pain. Either that, or he is trying to boost his approval rating.

    ReplyDelete
  96. I'd only go if he offered me a DC, and promised a smoke-free meeting.

    ReplyDelete
  97. No AU1N04 the president may send you a check but will not offer a beer

    ReplyDelete
  98. Hmmmm, is copying a quote from someone else plagiarism, at least if you don't reference your source? Seems like it would be because when you quote you expect to either have a reference of the quote or heard it first hand.

    ReplyDelete
  99. I wonder if they all had a round of Pabst?

    ReplyDelete
  100. Biden was there and apparently had a non-alcoholic drink, as he does not partake of alcoholic beverages.

This is a stunning development to me.

    ReplyDelete
  101. Perhaps we should ask the vice president regarding the rules of plagiarism.

    ReplyDelete
  102. Anonymous10:35 AM

I like the photo where the two guests are in a suit and the president and veep are in rolled up shirts.

    ReplyDelete
  103. rolled up shirts like how, Daisy Duke style?

    ReplyDelete
  104. Anonymous10:43 AM

Scottie B - If that were the case, you definitely would have seen the pictures.

    ReplyDelete
  105. Anonymous10:43 AM

    sleeves

    ReplyDelete
  106. i know. the 'rolled up shirts' quote just struck me as funny. speaking of Daisy Duke, who else thinks it's hilarious that Tony Romo dumped Jessica Simpson. ausome.

    ReplyDelete
  107. "Watching Ray Goff coach football was like watching a colorblind man tackle a Rubik's Cube," -- The Sporting News' Spencer Hall, who also doubles as Orson Swindle on www.EverydayshouldbeSaturday.com.

    ReplyDelete
  108. I think all Dallas fans jumped for joy of the news of Romo dumping Jessica. It has to improve his play some.

    ReplyDelete
  109. Ummm, did someone say nude?

    ReplyDelete
  110. An "immoral or sensuous manner"? What was that lady trying to do to that bicycle?

    ReplyDelete
  111. In a related story - The Venus De Milo is no longer allowed to be viewed in any format in the state of Alabama

    ReplyDelete
  112. Don't know, but thank goodness the ABC Board is going to save you from it!

    ReplyDelete
  113. Monica ...

As a student of the human mind, particularly the male one, you, of all people, should understand that we are more (insert your phrase of choice here) by the mystery dervied from Paulmain's avatar than the total nudity of the nymph.

    Allegedly.

    ReplyDelete
  114. I think they are trying to save kids from seeing nekkid breasti. Ummm, wait, where do babies get their dinner? Uh, the state of Alabama needs to look at banning women from showing their nekkid breasti to babies. Save the babies!!!

    ReplyDelete
  115. Fascinated? Nah. I just am looking for the woman with hooters big enough where I can crawl into her bra and...

    ReplyDelete
  116. The abc board cannot afford to allow the people of Alabama to be corupted by evil pictures of bicycles or nymph's

    ReplyDelete
  117. As a person highly offended by bicycles, I applaud the board's decision.

    ReplyDelete
  118. Jet - I do, but I'm not on the ABC Board.

    ReplyDelete
  119. Move back home, and we'll work on that, Monica.

    ReplyDelete
  120. I guess we're not going to be seeing "Cozy Kitten" cabernet any time soon, huh?

    ReplyDelete
  121. That vineyard has gotten more free publicity out of the ban than they ever would have profited by simply selling wine here. If I had a product to sell I'd seriously consider putting a racy label on it in the hopes someone would ban it and then run to CNN with the story.

    ReplyDelete
  122. I have narrowed my college choices to a top 5: MTSU, Auburn, Ole Miss, South Carolina, and Troy.

    ReplyDelete
  123. Steve - I thought you gave up woman and got yourself that dog.

    ReplyDelete
  124. Good point Monica, but the dog gets pissed every time I try to put that bra on him.

    ReplyDelete
  125. Scott Choc - Have you tried the BBQ @ Rib It Up in downtown B'ham?

    ReplyDelete
  126. Mon - no, I have not. Are you making a recommendation?

    ReplyDelete
  127. Steve: AUM is a fine institution and has a better rep than T-roy and is probably still quite a bit cheaper than Auburn. It is also a good bit closer to the promised land than the others. At least it has Auburn in the name. just a thought.

    ReplyDelete
  128. Times like these make me soooooo happy that Emory Folmar isn't the mayor of the Gump anymore.

    ReplyDelete
  129. The ABC board decision really makes me wonder why Alabama is viewed, along with Mississippi, as a backwards Bible belt state.

    ReplyDelete
  130. Scott - I have not eaten there, but it has been highly recommended to me by taste buds I trust.

    ReplyDelete
  131. J-Z ...

You don't live in the Gump, so just worry about your own community that is preferred by those who love the smell of papermills.

    ReplyDelete
  132. Jet - Does Alabama allow women to serve on boards?

    ReplyDelete
  133. c'mon! I just set that up so nicely and nobody's going to bite????

    ReplyDelete
  134. Only if they are very quiet.

    ReplyDelete
  135. Wait...women can vote now? WTF?

    Jet,

Apparently the papermill smell deters the thugs from the wrong side of the river. I'll take that trade all day long.

    ReplyDelete
  136. Goddess, They are encouraged to serve the board, not serve on the board

    ReplyDelete
  137. that's more like it!

    y'all were worrying me

    ReplyDelete
  138. Dmiller sorry i didnt see that you had sent that...I bought them through empire tix. 115$ a piece lower level. Section M. No bad considering

    ReplyDelete
  139. Boy, this thread has gone down hill fast. We need some real football news.

    ReplyDelete
  140. don't hate, Eddie

Jet please give me permission to post that last Yahoo IM here!!! PRETTY PLEASE!!! snort

    ReplyDelete
  141. The Sporting News has ranked us #36!!!! This means that...oh, wait a minute, um, the sporting news? Hmmm, okay.

    ReplyDelete
  142. OK, Eddie. Here's a football trivia question:

Which university has the highest football game attendance relative to the size of their stadium?

    ReplyDelete
  143. Hmmmm, not Michigan or Notre Dame.

    ReplyDelete
  144. I will take Army for $100, Alex.

    ReplyDelete
  145. The wine ban is so hilariously silly and ... so ... Alabama.

WTH? Can't pose in a sensuous manner?

    ReplyDelete
  146. Monica- I'm going to go with Oregon, but i'm not sure I completely understand the question. Give me an example.

    ReplyDelete
  147. South Carolina is pretty backward too. You can't buy much other than food or gas on Sundays until after 1:30. Why 1:30? Well, I think Jesus always did his shopping after 1:30.

Yea, that is right. You are going to burn in hell if you buy that D sized battery before 1:30 on Sunday!!!

    ReplyDelete
  148. So Alabama is SO right. Ridiculous.

Eddie - Example - My stadium only holds 10 people and yours holds 20 people, but mine is max capacity every Saturday and yours is 15 every Saturday. By % I win because I'm at 100%. Get it?

    ReplyDelete
  149. So it's by % of capacity.

    ReplyDelete
  150. I heard from a very unreliable source that Taikwon Paige failed one of his classes and will have to go the juco route, although he has appealed the grade.

    ReplyDelete
  151. Someone should banhammer Omnica for posting a trivia question that puts Bama in a positive light.

    ReplyDelete
  152. i gottcha banhammer right ovah heeeah

    ReplyDelete
  153. I gotcha, it would be a D-III school if I had to guess. St. Marys in Minnessota?

    ReplyDelete
  154. But I still stick with Oregon for Div 1.

    ReplyDelete
  155. The correct answer is Oregon with 108.23%

    ReplyDelete
  156. How about the highest percentage of fans at a college stadium that have never set foot in a college classroom?

    ReplyDelete
  157. My hometown recently voted to "go wet" and allow alcohol sales. But, stores were not allowed to put signs in their windows advertising the adult beverages. A cousin of mine decided to open a wine store and wanted to name his store "Vino". As that is wine in Italian, the city council said no sir. He fought the ruling and they eventually changed the ordinance so that stores could have the words beer, wine, etc in the name as long as it is in a foreign language.

    ReplyDelete
  158. Monica is such a Bammer.

    ReplyDelete
  159. By the way, if you googled up St. Marys, I was trying to play a joke, but no one called me out on it. St. Mary's gave up football a long long time ago :)!

Oregon has been the best attended football team for quite some time. What do I get for getting the trivia right?

    ReplyDelete
  160. Bama should come up with other creative laws to attract national attention. How about a ban on gun sales the week following an Alabama loss?

    ReplyDelete
  161. An autographed boob shot.

    ReplyDelete
  162. Sweet. Send it my way!

    ReplyDelete
  163. I withdraw my previous statement.

    ReplyDelete
  164. I need to actively participate in trivia, especially if autographed boob shots are the prizes.

    ReplyDelete
  165. I am listening to ZZ Top, Nationwide!!! Life don't get better than this.

  166. Well Steve, you obviously haven't won a boob shot in trivia before!

    ReplyDelete
  167. Alabama came in 20th and Auburn 28th, by the way.

    ReplyDelete
  168. I've won my fair share of trivia contests but I sure don't recall a boob shot being involved.

    ReplyDelete
  169. I would cheat more if they offered boob shots.

    ReplyDelete
  170. Goddess are you going autograph steve's boob or your own?

    ReplyDelete
  171. Steve,

For the past 20 mins I have been listening to a live version of the Allman Brothers Band doing "In Memory of Elizabeth Reed".

Duane Allman & Dickey Betts lighting the speakers up.

  174. Whoda thunk y'all would get so excited about Greg's boobs.

    ReplyDelete
  175. RK, I was listening to that a week or two ago. Good stuff.

    ReplyDelete
  176. So Allman Brothers are a band?

    ReplyDelete
  177. Tennessee has at least one law dumber than Alabama. If you go to a liquor/wine store and need a corkscrew, you can't buy it there. You have to go next door to the beer store (and there's always one next door) to buy any accesories related to wine or liquor. Also, you can't buy wine (or liquor, of course) in grocery stores, which means you can't buy it on Sunday at all. Scottie B. can probably verify all of this (I'm assuming it's the same in east TN as it is in Nashville). I'll bet you can buy the nudie wine in TN, though.

  178. what a punk - i can't wait to meet you so i can punch you in the stomach, sean

    ReplyDelete
  179. Oh yea, and Duane and Dickey were two of the best guitar players in the same band.

    ReplyDelete
  180. scott - is that like keeping the gun and the bullets separate?

    ReplyDelete
  181. I do believe Clampton, Paige, and Beck were in all in the Yardbirds, but not all at the same time.

    ReplyDelete
  182. Ah it's too easy! Anyway, I know the Allman Brothers, good stuff.

    ReplyDelete
  183. are you home, Norm?

    ReplyDelete
  184. Yes Mon, I've made it home, had a nap and now back to work.

    ReplyDelete
  185. just returned from a DEE-licious lunch at Sutton's Drug Store.

Sorry if this has been mentioned, but Goldberg reports on UT copying AU's billboard idea.

    ReplyDelete
  186. Hi Norm,

stick around a few more minutes, we're going to need some help.

    ReplyDelete
  187. Mon, I guess. I know that set-up annoyed me a few times (the wine thing, not the gun thing). Btw, "accesories" = "accessories". I've never claimed to be good at accessorizing.

    ReplyDelete
  188. I think you should have a web cam at you next LAX gate wait.

    ReplyDelete
  189. THT - I will. I'm sorry I let you down yesterday.

    ReplyDelete
  190. As long as the UT billboards have an Auburn helmet on them I don't have a problem with them.

    ReplyDelete
  191. You've never let us down, Norm. We felt your presence as the page turned.

    ReplyDelete
  192. Mon - a camera would have been more entertaining actually on the plane this time. Filming the two girls (one in particular) who were removed from the plane due to oversold conditions. "...but my luggage is on THIS plane, and I have a connector plane..." (said in a dumb blond crying voice).

    ReplyDelete
  193. UT is the debul. My sister goes there, that was a sad day for my family.

    ReplyDelete
  194. unfortunately, UT just copying the idea, not the billboard

    ReplyDelete
  195. Oh yeah, this flight's brush with greatness for Norm was one of those dudes from Outcast (Ludacris I think). Or maybe it's not even Outcast.

    ReplyDelete
  196. Steve,

Beck replaced Clapton in The Yardbirds, so they were never in the band together.

Jimmy Page replaced the Yardbirds bass player and played bass in the band with Jeff Beck for a few songs. Then they kicked Beck out and Page took over the lead guitar spot.
