Days to kickoff: 23
Our Tar Heel Tiger's Auburn Minute* is brought to you by the number:
23
*=FOR THE ANONYMOUS EMAILER WHO GOES BY "MIKE PRICELESS": The following post was written by Tar Heel Tiger, who is an esteemed member of our community. I, Jay G. Tate, did not write the following passage. If the previous two sentences don't sufficiently convey the fact that Tar Heel Tiger wrote this piece, please contact me again. Perhaps I can call you on the phone and read to you. Polysyllabic words can be tricky in print.
HAPPY RONNIE BROWN DAY!!!
A Cartersville, Ga., native and Auburn graduate, Ronnie Brown is a former All-SEC and Academic All-SEC performer. Though he started only 12 of 47 games for Auburn, he finished his career ranked 7th in school history with 2,707 rushing yards and 5th with 28 rushing touchdowns. He also had 58 receptions for 668 yards and two touchdowns.
He was the second overall pick in the 2005 NFL Draft. He plays for the Miami Dolphins.
Jay G's note on Brown: He was more social than Carnell Williams. He also was a completely different kind of back: Bringing power and a certain kind of refinement I never saw from No. 24. Brown was a gifted receiver, a powerful runner and a tireless performer -- when he was healthy. He was sidelined fairly often before that 2004 season. I'll always remember Brown's game at Ole Miss in 2002: 33 carries, 224 yards, three TDs. He was incredible that day.
Here is a little reminder of Ronnie Brown's college exploits.

201...Im hearin Eric Smith has been beastly in practice...Little Rudi may get his nickname back!?!?!?
You mean knee slapping nuggets like this one?
Nooj4AU(qualify tyrick!) said...
I just want the best guy out there at QB.....and the best guy is clearly Rollison.
If you cant tell that then you dont have much experience arm chair quarterbacking like I do. hahahaha.
I'll try and do better...I promise.
Say...that IS better, j-z.
Don't make me go all "Hell on Patrick's" on you choco scottie.
Sensi - my reaction to Burns being named starting QB would be:
We Are Screwed!!!
LT
You guys are mean.
I'm sorry I let you down folks. I tried to hit the 200 with my usual flair but a call got in the way. Dangit.
I for one have kind of enjoyed the FAH jokes. So, keep 'em coming if you're so inclined.
Keep Hate Alive.
BTW, keep your head down Aero. The news from over there has been a little scary lately.
IMHO, naming Kodi starter would be the equivalent of CGC standing on top of a double wide trailer in his tighty whiteys screaming "Hey! Lookit what I can do!!!!"
I think the end results would be similar.
Meerkat Manor is on. Something is just wrong about it reminding me of football.
Thanks Steve...I was going for four in a row...now I have to start all over.
Kodi being the starter would make me wonder why we had a coaching change. Last season really only totally feel apart after we switched to the RFYLK offense.
Roger that, J-Z
Apparently Mr. Tate is a fan of the disappearing post today.
Lawyers representing several media companies that cover the SEC have aligned and will have a Come To Jesus meeting tomorrow.
I'll be interested to see how the SEC will repel the push.
I didn't correctly word the initial post.
Turning 2 into one...nice work.
Mr Tate,
Have been to all of the SEC stadiums? Which ones would you prefer to never set foot in again?
who killed the thread?
If it's 'killing' I didn't do it. If the glove don't fit, etc.
sdlkfj sdflksjdf jgri39
yes Michael, truer words are rarely spoken.
I blame the man.
Phew
got rid of the young sabanite in the pic.
This comment has been removed by the author.
Did I read somewhere that Saban signed a baby at Bammer Fan Day?
Pathetic on both counts. That lying sob sure knows how to feed those trolls.
If an Auburn fan tries to request something like that, I hope Trooper Taylor thumps you in the chest.

jerk
Fight!!! Fight!!!
This comment has been removed by the author.
This has been your TMOA for the day.
Can't we all just get along!!! Keep it up and Michael will bring in the puppets.
I will accept the title jerk. Me and Sean the Idiot can hang out and stuff.
Sensi: I had that pic (saban signing a .. I think .. week old baby ) as my avatar on here for the last day or so.
I just got rid of it.
Yeah, I agree with Nooj. What a jerk Saban is!
Hey, what other coach has baby signings? You know, you could take that signed baby to a tattoo place and....um, wait, I shouldn't give the Bambi any ideas.
"Oh...I am slain."
I think he meant me Sensi.
I missed TMOA? Who is deleting posts around here!
Re: Kodi as the starter.
I think Malzahn knows what the deal is and if he thinks Kodi should be it, then Kodi should be it. i won't have any probelems with it. i think i he finds that he made a mistake after the season starts he will fix it too. i just don't see him as the @$$ hat the other guy was.
You bunch of bammer morons!
@$$hat...now there's a word we could have used ten minutes ago.
sorry, i have to do some actually work between reading yalls stuff and trying to post on my own.
It is entirely possible that Kodi has learned a lot from last season and would be great. From my experience it just isn't likely. Fundamental instincts are hard to change and when he changes QB coaches as often as a Bama fan brushes his teeth, it ain't likely.
Yea!! Lswho tickets arrived today. The home tickets will be here tomorrow.
It is a little known fact that j-z stands for jerk-zilla.
FC....wait....so are you saying he has not had many coaching changes or he has? i like the bama insult, but i think you need a "don't" in front of "brush" for that to work.
or "doesn't" might be better.
I hate intolerant people. If there is one thing I will not tolerate, it is intolerant people.
Man, I am going to have to work on my Bama insults. I am so ashamed.
hate on me all you want, but I'll still love Auburn.
asshat is my word - back off!
I prefer @$$clown myself, although I don't know what it means.
thats why i wrote @$$hat, Mon. the difference is subtle...but its there.
Assclown, another Office Space reference!
Steve, the Jerk...we will have a meeting welcoming all newcomers who have received a title from other posts. You can be Recording Secretary.
ahhh Sorry, Nugget. I'm too dense to pick up on subtleties and nuances.
Yea, Omnica, technically I give him a pass on that one. It is a different term. Yours didn't involve money.
And why didn't those dudes win an Oscar for Office Space? I suspect a Tom Hanks conspiracy.
Somehow, combining those types of hats with money has to be illegal. I'm sure it's also illegal in Alabama to use an @$$hat in any manner related to a wine bottle.
thats what she said?
Actually, I think it's illegal to use one of those hats at all in Alabama.
Just wait until I move to Alabama. I WILL be the go to source for all your black market needs.
Must...not...comment.
Monia - will you deliver to ATL?
that caused such spontaneous laugh burst that bosslady came to ask me what was so funny
I am listening to Robert Plant singing the coolest song ever, whole lotta love. Why is it the coolest song ever? Well, if you sing it to woman while looking deep into her eyes and she doesn't run away screaming, you are going to get lucky.
just for you, Norm
Or kicked in the hat.
i thought you were anti woman, Steve
Yea, well, umm, just anti get married and have her take all your stuff and leave you crying praying to the lord to save me and ....um, okay, I am anti women.
Monnie, Do you still have the lady who trolls by your office?
Smokey and the Bandit 4:
Monica bootlegs @$$hats from West Virginia to Atlanta.
anyone ever been to fan day? think there will be more or less peole than the spring game? im guessing less but wondered what yall think.
Aubie - she was an auditor so she was only here for 2 weeks
my bootlegging knows no limits
I wanna see an @$$hat in a suitcase.
Wait...do inflatable @$$hats count?
I pictured a whole tractor-trailer full of them.
i have special shipping - no suitcases
and yes
Well...I may or may not have crossed state lines with an inflatable one. I am admitting nothing.
Would the puppet hour bring some sanity to this place?
profit margin on asshats is WAY bigger than on chocolate
you might wanna partner with me, Scott
if you've got the right... temperament for it...
Let's hope so.
How would you define the sizes for @sshats? How would you tell a person that his asshatiness is of greater magnitude than he thinks.
" No sir I think a large wouldn't fit ".
" ma'am, did you ask for medium? Please forgive me for breaking it to you but you put the @ss in mASSive ".
Choco-@$$hats?
Nugget - Fudge A$$hats just don't sound very appetizing.
There's a secret password to get to the chocolate @$$hat section of our website. For some reason, it's very seldom accessed.
If you get a @$$hat, make sure you wear it right and it is the right size. My doctor thinks my ill-fitting @$$hat has been responsible for a few health problems I have had lately.
Mon...on your way down from WVa could you please drop off an XXL @SSHAT in Cartersville,Ga?
A large bone-headed Bammer has moved into the neighborhood and that would be perfect.
Do @$$hats make good puppets?
BTW..feel free to scarf my avatar. It is a "tool" from the late 1800's that was used to give Tobacco Enemas.
Potential present day uses would still involve blowing smoke up @SSes.
j-z - that is a trick question. There is no such thing as a "good puppet".
Men are not good at judging sizes so I have to do all the measuring.
You have:
Ginormous
XLarge
Large
Medium
Small
Don't Bother
Don't make me bring up fun bags and the itty bitty titty society.
^^ good idea on not bringing anything of such nature up.
I think we need a new thread. This one is beyond any hope for recovery.
Aero - what on earth are you doing up at this hour?
Headed to Auburn this weekend and looking for ways to sneak into practice.
Scrapped the mattress police because of its failure last time.
Considering wearing my HABOTN t-shirt and an @$$hat. Thinking about driving up in a short bus. Does anyone have one I can borrow?
edit: mattress police disguise
Saw an invisibility cape on the History channel. Buy one of those.
300
I'm working, THT. That's all I can say.
Sometimes it gets a little difficult.
War Damn Eagle.
I get the feeling that when Aero is working hard....stuff be happenin'.
You weren't around this morning at 5:30 a.m. my time when I was watching CNN. It made me stop and say a prayer for you.
Aero - thank you and your kind for doing your difficult work.
Aero & DoWhat? = Hottie Heroes!!!
Not really Hoop.
There's a lot of chatter but there's no credible info... something that we need. Since last sunday it's been too noisy to make any sense of it.
When I really am working I don't get time to post on here. So the last two days have been complete crapshoot.
The other problems right now are anxiety, and ..well.. depression. I wish I wasn't here. I wish I could delete this crap from my life.. forget it ever happened.
Thank you for your wishes. I should go hit the gym.
WDE.
How's that for a little perspective, folks?
Aero....we got you specifically in our prayers. It won't last forever and we appreciate your work.
In the mean time... let the HABOTN help lighten the load.
Ladies and Gentlemen - we should all pause and remember that we have the right to post silly as well as pertinent remarks on this space thanks to people like Aero (sorry if I'm not including any other posters actively serving) and many, many more before him. No matter what your politics and beliefs are about the current engagements, these folks are making a tremendous sacrifice for us. I for one am extremely thankful to have them on my side.
So, to any of you here actively serving, and to those of you who have served before I say THANK YOU. Thank you for your sacrifice and for the sacrifices your families made while you served for me.
That is all. I'm heading to a meeting and then leaving this place for the week.
That was really well said, Hoopie. Thank you.
Ditto that for me.
Norm - very nice post. Ditto that for me, too.
I don't post on here as often as some other sites, but I do read the threads daily ...
I know this may shock some folks, but from Day 1 I thought Ronnie Brown was the better running back of the class of 04. No discredit to his counterpart.
Jay I think you commented on how he was largely overshadowed until his senior year ... I've never understood why. His performance in the 2002 Capital One Bowl put Larry Johnson to shame ... I personally think that's the day that put him on the path to No. 2 overall draft pick.
FAH four ... I like it. I also like Big Snacks. I'm about the same size as Berry. I got your back JT.
Practice starting soon.
It's going to be a late one!
When do you expect them to name a starting QB?
After the next scrimmage?
Thanks for being there for us, JayGT!
Watching Jason Campbell this evening. While I hope that he does well during the season. I hope he is sacked multiple times by the Ravens D.
66 - Ben Grubs Ravens OL
I have a story running tomorrow about the quarterback situation, so I HOPE they don't reveal a decision tonight!
FYI: Game-worn jerseys from the 2004-06 seasons will be on sale at Fan Day on Sunday. If they ever sold game-worn Man U jerseys for $150, I'd be ALL OVER THAT.
re SEC stadia:
Best overall: Florida
Worst overall: South Carolina
Loudest: Florida
Best outside-the-gate atmosphere: LSU
Favorite SEC restaurants:
1.) Ye Olde Steak House, Knoxville
2.) Old Hickory Steak House, Columbus, Miss. (MSU)
3.) Tolly-Ho (UK)
Would it be safe to say that news media aren't subjected to verbal and occasionally physical abuse that visiting fans are at some of these places?
South Carolina worse than Vandy's stadium?
I hate going to games in Athens & BTR because the fans are extraordinarily rude. The folks in T'loser whom we encountered were nice as Auburn folks.
This is a minority opinion, but I found that a lot of Georgia fans were nice when I visited. The worst thing I heard was some idiot started a chant "Op-pel-i-ka". I laughed.
I ran into some very obnoxious UGA fans when I was at the Braves game. We were walking behind them and they were trying to get up the nerve to start a chant, then they finally did... it seriously was a chant bragging about being drunk obnoxious Georgia fans.
at least it was accurate
Have I told you guys how fast McCalebb is? I hear that Nooj loves it when I talk like that!!
Word in Auburn is that Chris Todd has been named the starter.
thanks for the 411
bigger question... who's #2?
Todd as the starter doesn't surprise me at all if his arm is healthy.
Todd? This won't last long. How can you start a kid who hasn't been truly healthy in two years. It would definitely be a calculated risk.
I'll guess Burns or Caudle as a temporary # 2 until Rollison is ready.
sounds like a good plan
JC is not the problem with the Skins. The lack of a decent O-line and receivers is the problem. I just turned on the game in time to see a dropped pass over the middle.
Using the not healthy for 2 years as the criteria we should have never started Carnell Williams in 2003 or Tristan Davis shouldn't have returned kicks last year.
Monday Night Football gang giving some love to Dansby!
I still think Rollison will be number 2 and is likely to end the season as the starter. Hopefully, he'll get plenty of game snaps to get him ready.
i've got my train ticket
Vick to the Eagles.
Yes, but even when he was healthy, he did not play in any meaningful games in college. He was a phenom in HS, but that was a long time ago. I wouldn't totally upset with Todd, because I trust the coaches, but he isn't my favorite.
If Todd wins the starting job does that mean we have to stop thinking that CTF was a dumba**??
NEW THREAD UP.
URGENT INFORMATION.
BigCat...No
I'll start considering not thinking CTF was a dumba** when he stops saying he's a dumba**.
Todd made good decisions last year. He just didn't have an arm. If his arm is fixed, he'll be decent. We don't have to have a great QB, but we do need a smart one.
