* LB Eltoro Freeman still has the cast/wrap on his hand, but he was working with the linebackers in drills. He was in a no-contact (orange) jersey. Pic below.
* Kodi Burns, despite saying last night that he's not a wideout, again was working with the wideouts this morning.
* Vincent "Bo" Jackson was at practice again.
* Former OL Kendall Simmons was at practice. He isn't playing pro ball.

Nothing but substance.
ReplyDeleteBoogie woogie!!!
ReplyDeleteTell Bo that MissTHT wants to have one of those cooking contests with him in our kitchen. She's can give him a real run for his money.
ReplyDeleteAnybody else having trouble playing the videos today?
ReplyDeleteChoco- I always have trouble playing them in Safari and I'm too lazy to figure out why since they play in Firefox and Chrome.
ReplyDeleteWar Eagle, Hotties!
ReplyDeleteNo problems with the videos for me.
So is Kendall's injury from last year a career ending one?
ReplyDeleteAs it should practice goes on. Glad Bo is home he could do a lot for Auburn by just being around and encouraging these young men.
ReplyDeleteGood luck Auburn Tigers.
yeah Bo stayed at my house last night. He keot wanting to play Worl of Warcraft. He's such a nerd. Instead we did Tequila shots and had relay races. he's not as fast as he used to be
ReplyDeleteI don't think Kodi will become just a receiver. I see him more as a Fannin type if he were to put on a bit more weight. Hopefully he can be one of those flexible players that can do a lot of things.
ReplyDeleteEltoro looks like he just spied the bammer QB. I sure hope his thumb "bruise" heals quickly and isn't something that will require surgery.
ReplyDeleteI'll give you substance for today, it's FRIDAY!!!! That's your substance.
ReplyDeleteKendall's injury coupled with diabetes has put his career on hold. Not sure he'll ever play again.
ReplyDeletediabetes sucks--and it's rampant out here.
ReplyDeleteFantastic Fotos, Writer/Photographer/Cinematographer Tate!
ReplyDeleteThanks, THT.
ReplyDeleteHow could Burns say he was not a wide out when last night he said he was a wideout? Don't get it. Don't see the controversy there.
ReplyDeleteHarrison - Sacrilege! Bo can run faster on his metal hip than most jaguars! Wait, are you too faster than a jaguar?
ReplyDeleteGot the videos to play. Whew, close one! I almost had to call it a day. Can't work without the video fix!
ReplyDeleteHoly Plaster, Batman!!! That has to be the worst bruise I have ever seen.
ReplyDeletei'm not surprised that they went with todd...just worried.
ReplyDeleteTucson, what do you make of Eltoro's "bruised" thumb?
ReplyDeleteA friend of mine and I met Bo at the Auburn A&P right after the 1985 season. We challenged him to a race to our car. First one to touch the car wins. He didn't even know which car was ours, but he ran out and touched every one in the parking lot before we could run straight to ours. I had to buy him two cans of soup. True story.
ReplyDeleteJordan Hair ...
ReplyDeleteBurns: "I definitely think of myself as a quarterback. I know everything that goes on out there. I know every position. I could play right guard right now. I still think of myself as a quarterback -- but just a really versatile guy who can line up anywhere on the field."
I like JUGS.
ReplyDeleteI'd like to see Kodi line up at right guard.
ReplyDeleteIn other news, Colonial Bank Shares (NYSE- CNB) have haulted trading shares of the bank which probably means a FDIC takeover. So Colonial as you know it probably dead after today and if you have stock in it, you probably lost everything in it.
ReplyDeleteOn with the show.
Haven't been able to catch up on all the latest comments. Excuse me if this has already been posted:
ReplyDeletehttp://blogs.ajc.com/barnhart-college-football/2009/08/14/franklin-happy-todd-won-qb-job-at-auburn/
GREAT pictures JGT!
Happy Friday and War Eagle!!!!!
Believe in Todd. Todd is here to save us from the bottom half of the SEC West. Todd is here to bring peace to the masses. Todd is here to prove that Franklin knew what was best. Todd is here to show that sideburns can work with a QB. Todd will part the waters that are SEC defenses and lead us to the promise land. Have faith. Todd is our savior. Do not blaspheme against Todd.
ReplyDeleteI would like to see Kodi line up at Guard and see him trap block someone. That would be fun to watch.
ReplyDeleteVery glad to see Trott on the jugs machine.
ReplyDeleteTo the other guys on the team: if Trott is in line behind you on the jugs machine, let him break in front of you.
Happy Danny Arnold day again... my favorite all time AU player.
Kathy,
ReplyDeleteThat story disappoints me a little. Not the context, but that TB wrote it instead of JGT.
I got a good laugh out of Barnhart's column.
ReplyDeleteTalk about BREAKING NEWS ...
a.) Chris Todd was hurt last year.
b.) Franklin didn't get along with the other member's of the staff.
Gotcha, Jay. Well, with Kodi's frame he will be a 6'2" 225lb wrecking ball WR next season and he could probably shave a tenth or two off his 40 time per Yoxall. From the vids, he definitely need a crash course on technique if he's going to contribute this season.
ReplyDeleteThink he redshirts?
Looks to me like Ted Roof Rusted is gently coaxing demons out of an about to vomit Walt McFadden.
ReplyDeleteTruth be known, Chris Todd was the reason we should have beaten LSU. But his arm didn't last and he was far too cautious with his throws. There's no question who has more poise between Todd and Burns.
ReplyDeleteI watched Todd's HS vids. He just isn't a deep ball thrower. He can't do it. Back to Brandon Cox mode in that regard.
JH: I'm done trying to handicap what happens next with Burns. I have no idea.
ReplyDeleteHe's surely needs a year to learn some techniques, you'd think.
They can't let KB redshirt. He's the only logical plan B if Toddzilla's arm falls off during the first quarter of the LaTech game.
ReplyDeleteI hear ya. I'm still a Burns fan in the character department. He's useful athlete. I hope he scores more TDs for the O & B in the near future. He's just not a QB. And, thankfully they have the program competence (and balls) now to make the right decision.
ReplyDeletePete, if CT goes down roll with TR. At that point it's all about next season and beating UGA and Bama any way.
ReplyDeleteI'm getting started in my laboratory on a miracle elixir to cure the LB, DB, and OL injury woes. It will also serve as immunization against future injuries. I think the key ingredient will be that sacred water from the Artesian Well in Glenwood, AL.
ReplyDeleteIf we're talking Game 4, I say you're right. I'm still scared Toddzilla's arm might fall off early in Game 1, which is too early for TR, in my not so expert opinion.
ReplyDeleteMichael- i mat could outrun a jaguar if he promises not to scratch, bite or maul
ReplyDeletei'm starving. i'm thinking it's timie for Zaxby's.
ReplyDeleteThe D and LSU's starting QB is why we almost beat them last year. Todd kept is up position to try to win that game, where I don't think Burns would have done that.
ReplyDeleteBig Snacks,
You can always pull a redshirt off in the middle of the year.
It better be about winning the game you are playing that week at any point, no matter who the QB is.
ReplyDeleteRk- You also left out that we were able to stay in the LSU game with Todd in there after we sacrificed every first down by running the damn same QB Option every time. That is when I had severe doubts about Franklin.
ReplyDeletePete, I'm with ya. I sat there and watched Todd throw the ball with his ear lobe warming up for the So Miss game in '08. Knew something was up. In fact, I emailed Mr. Tate that moment and said "check out Todd's gimpy shoulder", or somethign like that. His throwing motion doesn't look any different today to me.
ReplyDeletePeeps: I didn't get enough usable footage from practice to make a video.
ReplyDeleteI'll add some practice stuff to the end of today's standard video report.
Hope that quenches the ol' thirst.
JayGT - I'm tight as a tick. I don't think I can imbibe much more.
ReplyDeleteEddie,
ReplyDeleteI seriously had my doubts about Franklin in the LaMonroe game last year when we only scored 3 offensive TD's and didn't move the ball well at all.
JGT....Barnhart writes to a regional/national audience. He needs to provide background comments in order for his points to be coherent to that audience. I'm sure if you wrote a UGA article in the MA, you would need to do the same.
ReplyDeleteHe's good...and you are too, but sniping at him over that isn't.
I said I enjoyed Barnhart's breaking news elements.
ReplyDeleteI wasn't ripping him or talking him down.
I'm at the Advertiser.
ReplyDeleteHe's in Atlanta.
There's your score right there.
Yeah, Barnhart is one of the few "journalists" I can read without making me want to vomit. I think he's very good
ReplyDeleteWith Bo on the practice field just saw a funny on al.com
ReplyDeleteWhile living in Chicago Bo's young son ran into the house from school and shouted hey Dad did you really use to be Bo Jackson.
boknowsbo is gripped with concern about Todd's noodle arm. boknowsbo has not been as impressed with one players selflessness as he is with Kodi Burns today. boknowsbo loves seeing Bo at practice.. not exactly a lightweight.
ReplyDeleteSomeone should suggest to Tommy Trott that it is fun and cool to wear receivers gloves. With that statement I insinuate nothing of his receiving skills over the past few seasons. Just sayin...all the cool kids are doing it these days.
ReplyDeleteIs KFC still open?
ReplyDeleteThey sell grilled chicken now.
ReplyDeleteJay, can you check and see if Dee ford is practicing with the lb's now?
ReplyDeleteIsn't Chris Todd from Kentucky?
ReplyDeleteI had that Kentucky Grilled Chicken yesterday...meh
ReplyDeleteHarrison - while you and I may agree on the KFC Grilled, I'm really interested in what Bo thinks about it. Did y'all have it at your house last night?
ReplyDeleteI think I see where you're going with this, Sean...
ReplyDeleteYes, CT is from Kentucky.
Dee Ford is practicing with the linebackers, yes.
ReplyDeleteWow, Harrison eats Kentucky Fried Chicken yesterday, Todd is from Kentucky, Todd is named the starter. Coincidence?
ReplyDeleteMy family also had KFC yesterday--my better half's selection. I had the grilled legs...I'm beginning to see a pattern....
ReplyDeletei initially thought i was eating chicken for lunch, then went to a fancy deli instead. does that mean i'm anti-Todd? hope not. :(
ReplyDeleteThis is how I imagine things would go if Harrison and Michael were ever to actually meet:
ReplyDeleteFun with Harrison and Michael
Since the QB question is settled, the next big question is depth at linebacker. Dee Ford practicing there is very good news.
ReplyDeleteHaha, that video is evil, Norm. So who is getting whacked in your imagination, me or Harrison?
ReplyDeletegreat vid, norm....
ReplyDeleteSee; that's just it Michael, as I envision it, you're each taking turns. It may sound crazy to some, but I think that's how it would play out with you two.
ReplyDeleteHaha good times with the KFC...
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone else think Trott has his helmet pulled down a bit low. Pretty cool if yor a gangsta pullin' up to bust a cap in someone, but I think he could see the ball better if the raised the lid a bit.
ReplyDeletethere is no scenario in my mind where Mike and Harry don't travel around together playing this trick on old war veterans.
ReplyDeleteNew thread
ReplyDeleteI had the same thought, wtc...real gangsta *** ****** don't pull their helmets down, cause real gangsta *** ******* always catch the ball.
ReplyDeleteI'd like to throw this out there, despite that it's an "is what it is" kind of thing.
ReplyDelete``His arm has gotten a little bit fatigued, but he still has zip on the ball,'' Malzahn said.
Todd, who did not throw in the spring and has been splitting reps with at least 2 other qb’s, has an arm that is fatigued a little bit. I can’t grasp for a second how the coaches believe his arm will hold now that he is taking all of the reps and will be playing as the #1 for at least 12 games. My comprehension is sputtering and that aggravates boknowsbo.
