  3. I'm headed home.

I'll be back here around 11 a.m. for practice. It's a two-a-day deal, though reporters are not welcome this time.

So that's what we're looking at tomorrow ...

  24. You heard/read it here first - the NCAA has granted D Cobb another year of eligibility, and he will platoon at QB with Rollison. The coaches are looking for some mentoring for the true-freshman Future Franchise from the seventh yr senior, 5 times removed.

    ReplyDelete
  25. FLOMAX???? Damn that was just wrong Monnie!

    ReplyDelete
  26. That's what Jet is always talking about, Mobile! I'm just trying to help a Brother Jet out. You know me. Always trying to be helpful.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Did Mobilz really just say "half-cocked", given the context of this discussion so far?

    ReplyDelete
  28. Careful, J-z ... before someone cold-cocks you.

    ReplyDelete
  29. common denominator

  30. The cockadoodledoo will be early for me tomorrow, as I will be traveling, so good night HOTTISTAS.

  31. There is something special about working late late at night stairing into your monitor trying to resolve a work related issue and suddenly having that "knowledge is power" theme start playing. It will wake you up. I got to remember to keep my volume a bit lower.

Thanks for the excellent video Jay G and all of your hard work. What is your workout philosophy to prepare to two-a-days? Those days have to be long, even by my standards.

The message from Chizik seems clear that a lot of young guys will play. This is similar to the approach that he took at Iowa State, although the depth issues are probably the chief reason here.

This is not necessarily a bad thing or meaning Chizik is writing off the season. I think he looks at the schedule like I do and think play the young guys early or you will end up having to play them late in the tough part of the season when the vets go down.

I see the logic. I just hope our toughness is there.

  32. Sorry for blogging your blog, Jay. That turned out a little longer than anticipated.

    ReplyDelete
  33. That's a cockamamie excuse, Jet.

  36. Stick a fork in Caudle and Burns. They are done. My latest prediction.

    1) Todd
    2) Tyrik
    3) Kodi

    Caudle in the stands.

    ReplyDelete
  37. La Tech Nervous? Yes, yes I am. Never remember so many unknowns in my Auburn Football LIFE!!

    ReplyDelete
  38. Right now, I'd put Moseley over Burns.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Let me go on the record as saying, I trust the coaching staff to put the best guy back there. Let me also go on the record as saying I haven't felt that comfortable about it in a decade.

**Disclaimer** I immediately retract this statement if they stay with one guy that's making poor poor decisions for longer than I can withstand! Which is, like, 5 plays!!! LOUD NOISES!!!

    ReplyDelete
  40. I believe Moseley will be redshirted. I don't think they would burn a redshirt for him to be 3rd string.

    ReplyDelete
  41. j-z! Thanks for asking. THT is in The House!!!
actually, in the Holiday Inn. You ain't seen nuthin' till you been in a motel, baby, like a Holiday Inn

  46. HAPPY CARNELL WILLIAMS DAY!!!

    T-minus 24 days til kickoff!!!

No bio needed here, all the Hotties know about Cadillac's exploits. However, in my best (which isn't nearly good enough) Jet impersonation, I've revised a few lyrics to Bruce Springsteen's Cadillac Ranch:

    Cadillac, Cadillac
    Strong and fast Tiger Tailback
Open up your engines let 'em roar
Tearing up the gridiron, he's our Super 24!

    WARRRRRRRR EAGLE!!!
    GO TIGERS!!!

Honorable mention: Bobby Freeman ---Robert Clayton "Goose" Freeman, born in Birmingham in 1932, high schooled in Decatur, AL, was an outstanding QB/DB on Shug's early teams. He was Senior Bowl MVP in 1955 as quarterback of the winning South team. Bobby had 15 INTs as a DB during a 6 year NFL career with the Browns, Packers, Eagles, and Redskins.

Lots of 24s eligible for shout outs. Let's hear 'em!!!

  47. Good morning Hotties!

    RISE AND SHINE!!!!

MissTHT and I will be off to the Italian Consul shortly to see if we can scrounge up a visa. Her departure is less than 3 weeks away. Wish us luck!

    ReplyDelete
  48. Best of luck, THT. I've found the Italian embassy folks very friendly and accommodating. I'd say 5-7 days.

While there, get a pic taken with the liberty bell across the street. Bonus points if you wear a HABOTN shirt. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  49. bama can't be too disappointed to hear that VA Tech's leading rusher, Darren Evans, is out for the season with a torn knee ligament.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Good luck, THT!!!

  51. So Larry Casher day has finally arrived.

Honorable mention to Alex Thomas and Jonathan (Jai, at least for a couple of games a couple of years ago) Wilhite.

    Dishonorable mention to Dell McGee.

Also, Ring of Fire mention to me, as that was my high school number in football and baseball.

  61. If you think all batteries are the same, consider HABOTN

    ReplyDelete
  62. SO Scarbinsky does an article on DeRon Furr at Memphis. I am glad the kid is doing well, but does anyone really know what happened on the filed that day. Was he just a happy go lucky kid that was doing well in the classroom and befriending everyone and then the first day of pads, his teammates turned on him. What really happened in all that mess? Anybody know?

    ReplyDelete
  63. So will the mob put a hit out on whoever it was who leaked the Pitino story?

    ReplyDelete
  64. Anonymous7:22 AM

Hard to get a comfort level with the offense when they only get a couple a series.

Maybe we are planning a totally unique strategy of rotating 4 or 5 QBs. That would be original.

No beat writers were harmed in this post.

  65. Celebs can't seem to understand that carousing with young ladies rarely turns out to be worth the trouble.

  66. Anyone know anything about armadillos? I think I have one in my front flower bed! Something is digging a HUGE hole. Anyone used a critter trapper service in B'ham? Or have other suggestions? I don't have a gun.

  67. ehyou,

This is from the OA News this morning:

"Specific information about the happenings at Tuesday’s scrimmage was hard to find. Each player that was made available to reporters added a little tweak to a previous player’s story or completely contradicted it.

One example: Depending on whom you asked, tailback Onterio McCalebb’s touchdown run went for 5, 30 or 40 yards."

    Huh?

    ReplyDelete
  70. HAPPY CARNELL WILLIAMS DAY!!!! can't wait till tomorrow. i think we should declare day #23 a HABOTN holiday. ausome.

  71. Morning Hotties and Hooties, coming to you live from the not beautiful but definitely dull Lancaster, CA. It's bright and early here so it's not beastly hot yet so I've gotten my boring treadmill running done. Have a fine day doing what it is you do. We're almost there.

    Keep Hate Alive.
