    Was that Trotter?

    ReplyDelete
  5. That Throwing motion by Burns is not a natural look for him. It looks like he is forcing it. the others looked so much smoother

    ReplyDelete
  6. Yea I was surprised to see Trotter moving around so well.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Jay, I have two years of eligibility left if they need another LB. I could at least dress out.

    ReplyDelete
  8. I just read an article that said that the SEC is trying to impose rules that prohibit the news media from posting video from games, practices and news conferences. What a shame...

    ReplyDelete
  9. AU1292: I'm not happy about it.

AU1: That is the one and only Barrett Trotter.

  10. what about regular citizens? I swear every time you turn around some government body is attempting to control what you see, think and hear.... If I wanted that Iwould stay in Korea

    ReplyDelete
  11. Anonymous6:20 PM

If they limit videos, when do we see highlights? Or will they be exclusive rights to ESPN?

    ReplyDelete
  12. DL. SEC is not a government body.

It's an organization that is hell bent on making money. College athletics have gotten too commercial.

    ReplyDelete
  13. I think the article said that TV stations can't show clips of the game for longer than 3 minutes and that highlights can only be aired for 72 hours after the game ends.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Well i was wondering the first time someone would get in trouble for not having their helmet aligned...not looking good..

From story i read when CGC was hired

"And when he made the players spend 20 minutes of the first spring practice of 2007 precisely lining up their helmets, you wondered if a real life Captain Queeg hadn't taken over the ISU football program"

Jay, if you don't mind you should share the link of Andrew Gribble's article on AU's attrition he wrote today. Absolutely amazing. Wasn't our 2007 recruiting class ranks #7 in the country?

    ReplyDelete
  15. Gribs has his own blog!

    ReplyDelete
  16. Herring also sat out spring drills if I am not mistaken. The safety position is thin also, I don't know where the coaches could move someone from to shore up the LB position.

    ReplyDelete
  17. In that picture from the previous post, Terrell Zachery is all like, "Save it for the game, Turbo!" to Mario Speedwagon.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Nice work DL! The video plays much better on my old PC with Chrome than it does on my mac with safari or firefox. How weird. Great footage, JayGT. Good to see Tyrik out there.

    Where's Eddie?!?!

    ReplyDelete
  19. All you chumps got played by Dear Leader.

    ReplyDelete
  20. jay,

from what you see, are the coaches being weird about small things like 'having your helmet correctly aligned' (what andre harris got reamed for today)?

    ReplyDelete
  21. THT,
That's weird. It played great on my Mac with Safari.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Kodi Burns is not a QB. He is a football player that throws the ball sometimes.

    ReplyDelete
  23. So Trotter has a 0% chance of seeing the field this year? I wanna see him get a chance

    ReplyDelete
  24. jhag - I don't think the knee will be approved for play soon enough for Trotter to have game action.

cincy- thanks, I'm sure there's a Safari setting I should change, I'm just not familiar with it.

DL, Aero - we used to frequent Harry's Farmer's Mkt not too far from the Big Chicken during our West Cobb years.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I may have missed it, but did Hood change his number to #24? I was thinking he wore #25 last year and in the spring. I saw him in the top picture under the video.

    I enjoy the pictures, Jay.

    ReplyDelete
  26. hard to believe that's a 17 yr old kid out there next to Old Man Todd.

    ReplyDelete
  27. missinit - did you see the night vision goggles at the start of the video? How appropriate. All the Hotties will be ordering a set for enhanced thread reading.

    ReplyDelete
  28. THT its a 6 year spread... put another way he was 11 when Chris Todd entered College...

    Ouch..

    ReplyDelete
  29. Anonymous7:04 PM

THT - They will be coming in team colors too.

Funny thing is I actually used to sell infrared cameras.

    ReplyDelete
  30. AU1N04
when you were not using them to keep tabs on your ex girlfriends....

    ReplyDelete
  31. getting reamed for not having your helmet adjusted properly? is this a freakin' US Army boot camp? geez.

    ReplyDelete
  32. DL - $227.43 of nothing? Surely something? Either case, it's a lot better than the $3k of nothing rotting in my basement. Maybe I should send it to N. Korea; y'all don't have any power at night, so nobody would be watching it anyway. But it would look good for show.

    ReplyDelete
  33. FYI, SenDerrick Marks makes his NFL debut right NOW on NBC's Sun nite football. Titans vs. Bills.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Anonymous7:11 PM

Scottie B - USMC not Army.

DL - The crazy thing is that the cams used to make women think we could see through their clothes at trade shows. When in actuality all it did was show temp differences. Which was interesting to see for sure.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Anonymous7:13 PM

    Crumpler is HUGE!

    ReplyDelete
  36. thanks, ScottieB. I'll go check it out.

Someone let me know when the "late practice notes" thread shows up. I've heard enough about digestive problems :-P

    ReplyDelete
  37. I have no problem with the coaches reaming somebody for not having their helmet on correctly. Half-a$$ putting it on is a good way to get hurt when it goes flying off at the first contact.

Is it just me, or did Rollison have better mechanics than any of the others?

    ReplyDelete
  38. any chance Mr. Owens can graduate from H.S. in the next 2 weeks?

    ReplyDelete
  39. Tyriffik did look good through the lens of JGT's camcorder.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Tyriffik...nice.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Sweat Heaven's. We have some real football to watch tonight!!! Even if it is NFL Preseason. It's awesome to watch these gladiators trading blows!

    ReplyDelete
  42. Like i've said adn will keep saying, get on board the Rollison Express. The train is just starting to roll. There will be no redshirt for this man!

Also, I'm not trying to hate, but it sure looked like Kodi's throwing mechanics still look off on Jay G's vid.

    ReplyDelete
  43. CFL Update:

Damon Duval was 0 for 1 on field goals and 3 for 3 on extra points in a 25-0 Montreal win over Toronto. His field goal miss was only 25 yards.

Prechae Rodriguez caught 5 passes for 39 yards in Hamilton's 28-21 victory over Edmonton.

Tray Blackmon made five tackles in Calgary's 31-23 win over Winnipeg.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Hopefully, Chiz isn't Capt. Queeg sailing over the tow line or trying to solve the Great Strawberry Caper.

Maybe he's like the Wizard of Westwood, John Wooden, who spent the first practice at UCLA each year teaching his players how to correctly put on their socks and lace up their shoes.

    ReplyDelete
  45. A few other Aubies in action tonight:

    Titans:
Rob Bironas - first team kicker
Sen'Derrick Marks - third team DT

    Bills:
Spencer Johnson - second team DT

    ReplyDelete
  46. Tyriffik not my clever appellation ("my" and "clever" don't belong in the same sentence unless preceded by "not")

Tyriffik is from the prior thread. Phormerly Phred gets credit? I'm too lazy to look.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Duval misses a 25 yard FG?

"Meet the new boss ... Same as the old boss."

    ReplyDelete
  48. BigCat keepin the Hotties apprised! Thanks for all you do, BigCat!

    ReplyDelete
  49. j-z,

the problem is the players were not wearing their helmets at the time...he got in trouble because his helmet wasn't aligned with all the others on the field...that's weird

    ReplyDelete
  50. How many times did Duval out punt his coverage, but it made his average yards per punt look good?

    ReplyDelete
  51. Anonymous7:39 PM

For a quick second, I thought the ref was wearing an AU hat.

    ReplyDelete
  52. SenDerrick is #72 for the Titans, FYI.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Anonymous7:48 PM

Goodness.....CGC hasn't even put a team on the field yet and he is already being second guessed?.....what kind of football team did ya'll play for?

A new football coach imparting discipline and consistency?.....gosh I hope so.

    ReplyDelete
  54. RK ...

How many times did we need a good punt for Duval and he kicked it sideways?

    ReplyDelete
  55. Hoopie ... I'm with you on this one.

    I don't think he's crazy. I think he's got standards.

    ReplyDelete
  56. WOW I totally forgot about his knee

    ReplyDelete
  57. you are right Hoopie, he's a great coach

    ReplyDelete
  58. One thing is kind of troubling to me. When Pat Dye came to Auburn I can imagine him starting practice all over again because someone's helmet or uniform looked to clean. The helmet condoms need to go.

Also, Dye didn't appear to worry too much about depth. If he had been down to a dozen players he would have just said, hmmm, some of you boys are going to have to play both ways.

    ReplyDelete
  59. RK- I remember sitting around his parents alot during the 2000 and 2001 season and his Mom was obsessed about his punting average. The thing you could always count on Duval for was that if you need a long punt he would kick it short and if you need a pooch punt he would send it sailing thru the endzone.

    ReplyDelete
  60. I just got a thought....Aycock in the wildcat!! Ga Tech recruited him as a QB

    ReplyDelete
  61. Jhag- Aycock is definitely in the mix for the wildcat position. I believe him, Slaughter, Fanning and i'm forgetting the last one, McCaleb maybe are the leading candidates for the starting wildcat QB position.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Man- that article about the attrition on this team over the past 4 years is brutal. non-qualifiers abound. Pitiful.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Slaughter is gone :-(

    ReplyDelete
  64. I think it is Stallworth instead of Slaughter.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Chizik's stance on helmet alignment will have zero effect on his success as a head coach. If he is a failure, the detractors will claim this was a sure sign that he was a stickler who would turn players against him and didn't know how to relate to today's player. If he is successful, the pro-chizers will say this sort of attention to detail is exactly what the doctor ordered for a team that had gone soft under the previous regime.

In reality, the only thing that happened was a helmet was aligned, some other players took note that they better have their helmets aligned since the coaches were serious about it, and the player chewed out maybe was annoyed or motivated for the day depending on his temperament. Like I said earlier, this means nothing.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Wasn't a CB out today (Bell or Barnes I do not recall) also due to an injury.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Eddie-what are you hearing around the campus these days about the team and the cohesiveness.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Anonymous9:35 PM

We have no idea how CGC will do as a coach. So how can we know enough to criticize anything.

I have to wonder if fans that aren't able to give CGC the benefit of the doubt at this juncture, either enjoy cronic complaining, have cronic suspicions of coaches or just plain ol' think they know how to coach better. haha
