Missed the JGT gig always a day late and a dollar short. O Well
I watched just the last part of the Falcons replay of last weeks game last night. and was thrilled to see one Eric Brock knock down a pass in the end zone and then intercept the pass in the end zone on the next play. He was an un-drafted try-out guy last year. Some of you may remember his at Auburn.
I went in the chatroll and talked to dead air, I felt like a real winner. I've got major downtime this morning as we're having techinical difficulties with a projects so I'm on standby.
Anyone who was at or watched the 2006 Auburn/LSU game remembers Eric Brock.
As far as depth goes, I don't think it will cause many problems in the La Tech game unless someone gets hurt, but even if people stay healthy the lack of depth will catch up with you in the 2nd half of the year when some people have been on the field 95% of every game.
You also have depth by not overrecruiting certain positions i.e. QB and WR and making sure you're playing as close to the 85 scholly max with quality players.
Just taking a look at the schedule, I'm going to reserve my opinion on UT, but I have a question on the game before that. Ball State - went to a bowl game last year, blew their CG against UBuffalo, and Coach Mahlzahn beat'm in Mobile. Are they any good this year?
I ask because of that depth thing being brought up. If it works like its supposed to, we could get playing time for the new ones in games 1&2. WV should be a tough one (hopefully not, but they should be pretty good). I just hope the teams tak on their normal roles and we can have more of an off week in between the tough games. Just thinking outloud in print.
Or go to the Marine bootcamp and bring in a few ringers for smack mouth. Be sure they have not played college football before. Hope the NCAA is snoizing.

Now THAT sounds like a great idea! Although, as Kristina said, it will be very helpful in the coming years for the young guys to get some playing time.
I mean that post, yeah. Just read it and cringed. If I had known, I would have edited...who am I kidding? It was 1:30 am after a 2 hour drive home through the rain that followed up a 18 hour day. I was on the HABOTN to unwind and typing from raw emotions I wouldn't have edited.
I wanted to maintain the integrity of your post, Peter. I did correct some word that spell check caught. However if you want to edit it I'll repost it real fast. Would only take a second. I want you to be happy.
NO DROPS!!!
ReplyDeleteWell done 2.0.
ReplyDeleteDerek Smalls!
ReplyDeletemorning ehyou.
ReplyDeleteI was concerned my pink panda was scaring people away.
T-Rob!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the heads up on the new thread, 2.0. I was just chillin' in my ignorance.
ReplyDeleteThat's not to say I haven't had my visionary moments. I've taken acid seventy... five, seventy-six times.
ReplyDeleteThat's funny, I was the one that e-mailed them to confirm JGT's appearance.
ReplyDeleteanyone listening...AU-Iowa State in the weedwachker
ReplyDeleteBoy Jay sure isnt to high on what is going on at auburn right now...Brutally honest!
ReplyDeleteMr. Tate gets "Red Barchetta" for his theme music every week. Tasty.
ReplyDeleteYea. This Auburn team is seriously thin. Look through that defensive depth chart. Or the OL depth chart.
ReplyDeleteThings could get hairy in a hurry.
My uncle has a country place ... noone knows about.
ReplyDeleteagreed. cross your fingers and say your hail mary's. please no more injuries.
ReplyDeleteSo how is the weather every where else? My back yard is underwater. In atlanta we have had 3.5 inches of rain in 3 1/2 hours.
ReplyDeleteOoh...Working Man.
ReplyDeleteI agree Jay...the line is thin. Yes i was offended with the wake and bake comment. kidding.
ReplyDeleterain here in east tennessee. it flooded at the Knox Airport this morning. they had 6 inches in baggage claim. that sucks.
ReplyDeleteI'll be back in a bit, I'm reading to see how the chatroll with Michael, Kristina and jhag turns out
ReplyDeleteScottie happy i was flying into knoxvegas this morning. Wet whity tightys dont work
ReplyDeleteWhat's worse, depth problems or internal turmoil and distrust?
ReplyDeleteYa just gotta dig Rush fans!
ReplyDeleteJay G has "friends at ESPN". You guys know what that means.
ReplyDeleteDepth for sure. OL & LB are really thin. If we keep those two things healthy i think we are better than 6-6.
ReplyDeleteMr. Tate hating on Joshypoo. I like it.
ReplyDeletemytommy, that was Monica chatrolling last night. Which actually would be far more entertaining than had it been me.
ReplyDeleteanother good hatin' segment in the books. baggin' on Bag. funny.

Peter, you're 12:03 post earlier this morning: FANTASTIC!!!!
ReplyDeleteTo be fair, Kevin calls me before the show and his first comment is: "Can I get a link on the HABOTN?"
ReplyDeleteMy response: ``Can you raise up?"
damnittohell I hate when I post with the wrong name
ReplyDeleteI thought Michale was talking you into chattrolling, but you at the time were multitasking too much. I guess that means you never got in there?
ReplyDeleteMissed the JGT gig always a day late and a dollar short.

Now who's the ill ass?
ReplyDeleteWho's that directed @ Luv? By they way, long time no speak, how's the golf swing?
ReplyDeleteLOL, not you, Seanzie.
ReplyDeleteGolf swing: same. I just line up WAY left to compensate. Usually works, but every now and then it'll go the way I'm aimed.
You go Kristina!! No Queen's gonna tell YOU what to do!
ReplyDeleteLack of depth will raise it's ugly head as the year goes on. Maybe we can create some depth in the early games agaisnt lesser talented teams.
ReplyDeleteUgh, Im terrified with our depth issues
ReplyDeleteHow do you create depth?
ReplyDeletePlaying young plaers in real game conditions. Hope there mistakes don't kill you.
ReplyDeleteThanks Mon, MrTD, and Luv for the kind words. It was a great day with great feelings that will last a lifetime....

ReplyDeleteI'm Pissed that I just got pulled away and missed Hatin With Jay G.
ReplyDeleteBut think how experienced we'll be in the next few years with all these young guys getting playing time.
ReplyDeleteAl Roker is a dufus.
ReplyDeleteGod, I hope my question didn't seem INCREDIBLY stupid. I meant how do you creat depth once the season has started.
ReplyDeleteit doesn't count when I fuss at myself, Luv!
ReplyDeleteDig a big hole, Luv?
ReplyDeleteAs Tar Heel would say, there should be an "e" in there somewhere.
ReplyDeleteby sneaking 3rd string NFL players who won't be missed on sunday and have saturdays free to play for the Tigers!

ReplyDeleteI love that the weather channel has Pink Floyd playing "the local on the 8s"
ReplyDeleteyou mean me, peter?
ReplyDeleteYeah, Tuberville's unusual recruiting schemes are biting Chizik in his arse
ReplyDeleteI heard they have lost all their talent and don't have many starters returning, tommyd
ReplyDeletewhy would you ask a rhetorical question on a radio interview?
ReplyDeleteDigger...
ReplyDeleteIf you want to listen to the JGT spot from this morning, a podcast will be available here sometime this afternoon.

ReplyDeleteJust what I have heard...There QB last year Nate Davis, i believe(dual threat)...was the main reason they were succesful
ReplyDeleteBall State lost their QB and the majority of the offense from the really good team that they had last year.
ReplyDeleteIt seems La Tech always has a good QB. We need to steal whoever recruits QB's for them and see if we can find at least 1.
ReplyDeleteI wanted to maintain the integrity of your post, Peter. I did correct some word that spell check caught. However if you want to edit it I'll repost it real fast. Would only take a second. I want you to be happy.

I'd like it noted, Jay G., that I asked your question verbatim of Chaz Bloom. With attribution to you, of course. He didn't seem to get the humor.
