    -Trooper Taylor

    he's a one-man quote machine.

    ReplyDelete
  4. he may be all fluff and show
    he may lack substance
    he may be a jerk
he may suck as a coach
we may not win a game this year

but i can't help myself, I have fallen in love with the Trooper Taylor I see in these video clips

    the end

  6. It is Aycock...

Our o-line looks horrible in every video

  7. THAT's the Oline the WVU defense believes it will beat

  8. Craig Miller, I hearby suspend you for calling James Brown's class bogus. Best class ever.

    ReplyDelete
  9. that's factual, scottie b

    ReplyDelete
  10. scottie do you do a sketch on paper first and then on canvas or straight to canvas?

    ReplyDelete
  11. I'm going to guess Montez didn't take enough classes between spring and summer to qualify to play.

You have to keep a certain amount of classes each semester.

  14. Ehyou is not on or headed for Muscle Beach.

  15. Why is it Auburn has all these strange things happen? This isn't the first time something has happened that nobody seems to be able to explain. Is there some NCAA rules that they keep under lock and key and pull out every now and then?

Seems to me that our WRs have had more coaching in the past eight months than the 5 previous years all totalled.

CTT is indeed a great quote machine, but that is just for show. Look at the discipline, fundamentals, consistency and attitude he slams into the WRs....if he ain't a good coach..it ain't possible.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Ehyou just went 3rd person on y'all.

“Do I talk to myself? No, I just remind myself of what I’m trying to do. You know, I never answer myself so how can I be talking to myself?”

    ReplyDelete
  20. Dude you've been smoking the same thing your profile pic has been smoking.

So Hoopie you think it's ok for me to love CTT or will I be disappointed?

    ReplyDelete
  21. Byron and Chad playing each other just doesn't seem right.

    ReplyDelete
  22. It's up to Gene Chizik to explain what happened to Billings. He is able to hide behind certain possible defenses -- ie the "illegality" of discussing someone's academics -- yet the SEC just created a new website trumpeting academic achievement.

As long as the news is GOOD ...

    ReplyDelete
  23. Anonymous7:17 PM

Mon..I would be shocked if he disappointed.....go for it with gusto....just don't tell Greg.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Anonymous7:18 PM

    We are MARSHALL!!

    ReplyDelete
  25. If an individual didn't want their academic achievements trumpeted, shouldn't they be able to cry foul?

    ReplyDelete
  26. Anonymous7:20 PM

4 game suspension. It sounds like he violated the leagues scholastic abuse policy.

    ReplyDelete
  27. seems much of all the vid i see is of passing.

JGT is it normally slanted towards passsing when you film or is that just how the tape is cut?

    ReplyDelete
  28. OK, Hoopie. I trust you.

    AU1!! WE ARE...MARSHALL!!
    Nice :-)

This type of academic stuff happens everywhere. Privacy laws limit revealing details. Without details, there is not much of a storym, therefore not much press.

JHAG....I went back and watched the vid several times. I just can't understand how you can spew on the OL based on that vid. The line play was at 3/4 speed and the camera angle was from ground level and behind the line. I don't know of any coaches that could properly evaluate line play in that circumstance.

    Please share your secrets.

  36. looonnnnnnggggg day today, just got home from work a few minutes ago, then MrsTHT walks in from work right after that.

MrsTHT leaves tomorrow for a week, so Kickoff Kountdown research for DAY 8 is not even a remote priority. Y'all can take the snippets and expand and/or expound on them however you wish. I'll have them up this evening.

Then Saturday will only require 4 words (Happy *** ******* DAY), so that will be easy.

    WAR EAGLE!!!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Did Joe Buck really just say the lightening was "just outside the stadium"?

    ReplyDelete
  38. Cincy...
I'm watching the Braves game but missed that. Way cool!

    ReplyDelete
  39. do what you gotta do, THT
    it's all good, honey

    ReplyDelete
  40. Anonymous7:34 PM

That's funny...and he made a comment earlier about hating when announcers just ramble.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Open practice? Wow!!!

    ReplyDelete
  42. I like Raheem Morris.

    ReplyDelete
  43. there is still baseball?? pffft

    ReplyDelete
  44. i used to enjoy baseball. Now I find it no more exciting than watching checkers.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Hey, THT, you do what you gotta do and watch what you can until Auburn football starts! Braves bb helps pass the time.

    ReplyDelete
  46. I'm thinking "open practice" means the first 20 minutes for reporters.

It is great to see Caddy running on the field again. One of my all-time favorite players to watch.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Started out listening to Pink on my iPod while cutting grass. Finished up the lawn with the Auburn Marching Band. Talk about getting you in the mood for kickoff!

    ReplyDelete
  48. ehyou,
Boog was asking what SEC stadiums were the best to watch a game. He said he had always heard LSU, FL and UGA were good. Joe said "you gotta go to a game at Auburn. Any place where they start coming in to tailgate on Wednesday is a place you need to be." It was awesome to hear him. He also said like Skip used to "and that ball fell in the lap of a lady fan from Auburn, AL."

    ReplyDelete
  49. Just a reminder: Bidding for Day 8 is still open.

I accept credit card, paypal, and euros.

    ReplyDelete
  50. I just checked Joe & Boog's FSS Facebook page. The Auburn comments has that place looking like AL.com. It's pretty funny.

    ReplyDelete

  55. Imagine you have been married to the same woman for more than 30 years, you love her more than anything - nothing could ever change that. You have shared many of your best memories with her and would never leave her under
any circumstances. Then you spend a day with a woman who in some ways is more beautiful than your wife...you may never see her again...but you won't
forget her for a while either.
Maryland is my wife...Auburn is " the other woman ".
If you all love college sports - and I assume you do - you really need to
see a game there. I have been lucky to see a lot of places, I have not seen
a lot of places like that. It's an amazing scene in every respect.

Granted, I was there for # 3 vs. # 5...Auburn was 9-0 so it was bound to be
    good.

    Some highlights:

I arrived at night with the stadium lit up like a Christmas tree. It sits
dead in the middle of campus. A shrine...literally their church - only
services are held on Saturday. Made me say....hmmmm...this is promising.

Gameday scene - tailgating in every available space...and not like some!
field full of RV's - though they had that too. But literally people grilling
and drinking in every available spot for as far as the eye could see. I lost
count of the number of bands and stages and this was at 9 AM.

The Fans - I knew I was in a " red state " from all the Suburbans with W
stickers but the truth of it is, this part of Alabama is an orange state.
Every man woman and child is in the same shade of orange. Not unusual I know
...but THIS was...they are nice, friendly, and polite - to GEORGIA FANS.
Nobody called anyone in Black and Red Faggot or *sshole...nobody told them
they sucked.... These people are your friends, you don't know it yet because
    you haven't met them
    - but when you do - you have met a friend. you want a beer ? some bar- B - Q
    ? grab some. Let's talk for a while....war eagle...let's have a good game. I
saw this at tailgate after tailgate. Stragglers who wander by are offered
anything that's available - didn't matter what color they were wearing. This
is the oldest rivalry in the South - they call it Brother vs. Brother and
they mean it. Now there are certainly cliche's about down home country
sensibilities - but these folks embodied the best part of the notion of
southern hospitality. Though many did admit it's a tad LESS civil for the
    Iron Bowl.

    Tiger Walk :

Impossible to describe. Im - possible. A human welcome mat for the team. The
team walks through several blocks to Jordan-Hare through a sea of people. I
asked somebody how many folks were there and was told they could never come
up with an accurate head count but that they were certain it was "well in
excess of 25,000 people." That looked a little light to me...I would have
bought 40 grand. 2 hours before kick the streets in all directions were
completely - and I mean COMPLETELY jammed. It was like a religious
experience. If you can be in the middle of this - and I was lucky enough to
get to walk through it - and not be overwhelmed, you are dead my friend. (I was honestly in awe.
    Gametime :
The eagle circles as 87,521 people cheer
Waaar EAGLE HEY!!! The eagle pounces on some meat
product and the hair on the back of your neck stands up...then if you are
still unimpressed you get an F-16 flyover
    Toomer's corner :
everyone converges on the intersection of college st and whatever the other
road is and they toilet paper every tree in sight. By the time it's over, it
looks like a blizzard has rolled through Alabama. There are no riots, no
police, no cars set on fire. There are families from grandparents to infants
chucking rolls of toilet paper all over the place. Again, i just shake my head at a loss...and maybe a little jealous.
It's a special place, the best scene I have ever seen for college football.
I have ZERO doubt "our" TEAM could someday be as good. As fans though,
perhaps we should aspire to be as classy as those I was hosted by.

  56. That last post was from Scott Van Pelt of ESPN after the 2004 UGA game. Every time i read that I get excited and hope you all are as well.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Mon, i sketch straight to canvas, or in this case, watercolor paper. i've been trying to rest b/c of my 'flu-like symptoms'. hopefully i'll feel well enough tomorrow to paint. the wife is planning on watching a new Disney Channel movie tomorrow so that sounds like prime painting time>

love seeing Ronnie B and Caddy play tonite. good times.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Kathy, i love that you were listening to the AUMB on the ipod, but even more impressed with you cutting the grass. rock on sista.

I was wondering where the MD reference came from.

    ReplyDelete
  60. That Scott Van Pelt write up always makes me happy.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Scottie when you're feeling better I want to talk to you about watercolors.

The Van Pelt thing is always a good read.

    ReplyDelete
  62. I wish I was at Cafe Disco!

    ReplyDelete
  63. Anonymous8:18 PM

Very similar to the writeup the NY reporter scripted after the AU-Syracuse game a few years ago.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Can't wait for kick-off! I'm almost ill with anticipation.

And now for something totally different, how does belly button lint work? I wore a green shirt over a blue shirt, and had both green and blue bellybutton lint! How does the green lint get through the blue shirt? Creepy!

    ReplyDelete
  65. sorry for the silence; i'm still calculating the diffusion coefficient of the green belly button lint

    ReplyDelete
  66. Joe Buck = Greasy

    ReplyDelete
  67. that belly button comment blows my F****N MIND

    ReplyDelete
  68. The most excellent Syracuse write-up.

    ReplyDelete
  69. More importantly why the heck is he wearing TWO shirts this time of year?

    ReplyDelete
  70. I always wear two shirts, usually some short t-shirt over a polo shirt, I always look classy for the ladies :P

    ReplyDelete
  71. We need a photo of that, Byron.
    Pronto.

    ReplyDelete
  72. I think I have seen a screen like that last one before...

    ReplyDelete
  73. its amazing what you can find in ones belly button

    ReplyDelete
  74. and the fatter I get, the more I can put there.

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  80. no way he goes to TN with Bryce Brown and Ocowhatever, RIGHT??

    oh my

    ReplyDelete
  81. I wish my belly button was a cup holder. But would i want it big enough to hold a regular size can or a Coors Light can. Lifes little dilema's

    ReplyDelete
  82. HELLO FREAKS! Dyer not bellybuttons!

    ReplyDelete
  83. I can't imagine that either, Mon. But what if McCalebb turns out to be better than either of those?

THanks for the vid link, btw

    ReplyDelete
  84. I'm not a freak! I'm just eccentric! :P

    ReplyDelete
  85. that's awesome! I had the Beasley post and didn't even realize it.

that's awful! I had the Beasley post and didn't even realize it.

    ReplyDelete
  86. Very nice find Mon. I vote we impress Dyer this year with our football virtuosity.

    ReplyDelete
  87. A Dyer commitment will give our AL.com brethren plenty of ammo, so even if he is a complete disappointment, we will get that our of the deal.

    ReplyDelete
  88. There's room for both of them in our shallow little pool!

    ReplyDelete
  89. Thanks to my man for the vid. He always hooks me up.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Byron if you're here you're a freak. Embrace it.

    You live where it snows?

    ReplyDelete
  91. Is it September yet?

    ReplyDelete
  92. I always watch the old games before a season to pump myself up :P

    ReplyDelete
  93. ehyou, I stood in the parking lot with that guy after the Syracuse game.

    He really was smitten.

I think it was more about that game -- very close, overtime game as I recall -- and it was very loud. It was the kind of loud that rattles your ears. Max loud. Maybe he hadn't heard that before.

I don't hear it very often ... only at Auburn, Alabama, Tennessee, LSU and the new press seating at Florida.

    ReplyDelete
  94. I wish Dyer would just go ahead and commit already!

    ReplyDelete
  95. Anonymous8:54 PM

Mon...your steady stream of internet football links/knowledge is impressive..kudos to you and/or Greg.

    ReplyDelete
  96. The Syracuse game was a 3 OT ... Duval yanked a chippy at the end of regulation.

The Orange had a 17-0 lead and then we came back ... lots a noise ... it was a late start ... post 8 p.m. on the Deuce... it was extremely late when the game ended.

Carnell put his patented freeze move on some defensive tackle/end type on the game winner. The guy basically fell over and Carnell jogged by him.

I can imagine the scene impressed the guy.

    ReplyDelete
  97. Thanks Hoopie. 80% of the finds are Greg's for sure and he LOVES to find stuff I haven't already seen so it's fun.

    ReplyDelete
  98. How are things at the Hangar, Jet?

    ReplyDelete
  99. Mon ... I left the game early since the band packed it in due to the weather... A well medicated Mrs. Jet is waiting to find out if her ailment is staph or a brown recluse bite.

    ReplyDelete
  100. Bless her heart! She really is the walking wounded!

    ReplyDelete
  101. I have that Syracuse guys original news clipping still on a bulletin board I had throughout college. I just thought the Scott Van Pelt thing was cool b/c he's always giving Auburn a shout out on his radio show when he can. That syracuse game was a beast. Brother Jet those Deuce games sucked- you drink the night before + all day and sit there for a 3 OT game. Lot of bad decisions that weekend as well.

    ReplyDelete
  102. Man, Jet, what a choice. Not sure which would be the best one of those two. Sorry she is having to deal with this.

    ReplyDelete
  103. we didn't make it to the 'cuse game. Wish we had caus it ended even later here ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  104. Mon-I don't follow recruiting but I feel real good about AU getting Dyer. He is listed as their #1 player on the recruit board. Coaches also have him as the #1 player in the nation.

    ReplyDelete
  105. That game was a blast. I don't remember there being a weather issue though. Jet?

    ReplyDelete
  106. Anonymous9:09 PM

    Prayer sent for Mrs. Jet.

    ReplyDelete
  107. Your right Hoopie our O-line is great...cmon, there is no secrets to share our O-line on paper, is god awful at the moment

    ReplyDelete
  108. Jet-how was the game. Who was winning when you left?

    ReplyDelete
  109. Syracuse game was a late kickoff ... no weather issue.

Weather was tonight. Rain at STJ-Trinity.

    ReplyDelete
  110. And thanks for the prayers and well wishes. She's frustrated ... woman has the worst luck in the world ... and that's not counting being stuck with a knuckleheaded husband.

    ReplyDelete
  111. Ahhhhh....OK. That makes sense. I didn't think I was that....uh, happy? that night.

    ReplyDelete
  112. Anonymous9:14 PM

JH..I can't find on the video what you are referring to and just wondered what I was missing.

Does our OL have depth issues..yes and that is really old news. It would be really lame to keep whining about that old story, therefore I was assuming that you saw something. Help me out here.

    ReplyDelete
  113. A little off topic, but, I am very jealous of those of you who get to live in Auburn. That's all. Carry on with the conversation.

    ReplyDelete
  114. i'm a little jealous of those who live less than 500 miles from Auburn.

    Count your blessings.

    ReplyDelete
  115. Our offensive line looks to be great at the moment. The depth isn't there, but the starters are talented and experienced.

    ReplyDelete
  116. THT, thank you for that reminder. I guess I shouldn't complain about an hour and a half drive. It's all in your perspective.

    ReplyDelete
  117. WTC ...

Trinity was ahead 17-12 in the 3rd ... lots of turnovers on both sides. Defense trying to hang in there.

Slayton had two long TD runs for STJ.

    ReplyDelete
  118. WTC - You're still not following recruiting, huh? ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  119. I'm very thankful I can drive there. No roads from Islamabad to Auburn.

    Aero, we love you!!!

    ReplyDelete
  120. Just an observation our QB's are getting pressured every time they drop back and looked rushed, if you don't agree whatever...
    Steve our Oline is great?

    ReplyDelete
  121. Anonymous9:20 PM

First game of HSFB tommorrow night. Our daughter cheered her last game in 2005 and we still have those very good reserved seats that are so coveted.

Don't go to every game now, but tomorrow nite is the crosstown rival and our neighbor's kid that I've known for 12 years is starting at WLB.

    ReplyDelete
  122. Happy early birthday to our very own AUBIGCAT!!!

    ReplyDelete
  123. THT,
You said Mrs. THT was going out of town for a week. Does that mean she will be gone for her birthday?

    ReplyDelete
  124. Mon-Did I ever tell you I think AU gets Dyer, Seastrunk, Reed, Dixon, Owens, Dakota Moseley?

    ReplyDelete
  125. Yes, cincy. She will be solo in Florence on her birthday. At least she better be! She's thrilled!

    ReplyDelete
  126. Anonymous9:24 PM

JHAG...it was a situational/timing drill run at 3/4 speed. The OL/DL were there to go through the motions for the skill players benefit. We are only going full speed and hitting sporatically.

Notice how easy it was for the DL to stop and move to the screen pass. That's b/c they weren't chasing full speed toward the QB.

At least wait until our first loss before spewing.

    ReplyDelete
  127. I think jhag has an issue with our O-Line....or is it just me? ;-)

For some reason I have a very calm attitude toward the team this year. Don't get me wrong, I am super stoked for football season to start, to see the eagle fly, watch the intro video and cheer for my Tigers. But I have to come to terms with the fact, I have no control over the state of this team right now, and hope the coaches are doing the best they can with the resources they have.

    ReplyDelete
  128. Florence, Italy? Or Alabama? Italy would be a pretty cool place to be on your birthday.

    ReplyDelete
  129. Jet- 30-12 with 6 minutes left. Too many kids going both ways for STJ.

    ReplyDelete
  130. Florence, Italy more fun than Florence, AL more fun than FLorence, SC

    ReplyDelete
  131. THT and Cincy...you two might be very jealous of me in a few months. I might get to teach a class to the AU student athletes this Spring.

    ReplyDelete
  132. I have may concerns about this team. AU will have to have EVERYTHING fall in place to have a good record this year. That rarely happens to AU though, except 2004.

    ReplyDelete
  133. FANTastic BigCat, and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

    ReplyDelete
  134. the good news? MrsTHT will be taking her alarm clock!!!

    ReplyDelete
  135. When the cat is away the mice will eat out all week. :P

    ReplyDelete
  136. Anybody feeling chatroll tonight?

    ReplyDelete
  137. Kristina-I am interested in what the opening video and music will be. I did not like the first song they used last year and I think by the third game they went back to the 'do you want it' music, which I thought was great. However, I am not sure you can get 2 minutes of highlight clips form last season.

    ReplyDelete
  138. LGG- yep, I'm starting to feel like Bear Grylls...minus the survival skills.

    ReplyDelete
  139. WTC - I don't remember if you told me that or not. I believe everything you tell me. Each day.

Kristina - I feel exactly the same way. Very excited about football season, but very it-is-what-it-is about the results.

    ReplyDelete
  140. After reading many articles about AU, I can not understand how AU got in the position having so few quality players? I am NOT ready to bash the former staff, but if they were around today, would you feel better about this team now than you with the new staff?

    ReplyDelete
  141. wtc, the first video they put out was awful, I agree. It's sad when the video introducing the band gets you more fired up than the one for the team. Hopefully they won't make that mistake two years in a row.

I am betting if they use any footage from last year that amazing scramble/completed pass for 1st down Kodi had will be on there. I can't for the life of me remember what game that was though. I wanna say Tennesee... Can't really remember anything else from last year that stands out tho.

    ReplyDelete
  142. Me and Mon are in the Campfiyah at chatroll. Anyone want to join?

  144. AUBigCat,
My dream job! Seriously, we do hope to retire in Auburn and lead some studies through a church there on helping engaged and newly married couples set up budgets, organize their households, etc. Finances get so many young marriages into trouble.

    ReplyDelete
  145. maybe they'll include the video of CTF leaving the athletic center with his books

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  177. LGG - I've already dozed off about a dozen times waiting for a new page to get here for Day 8 post. I've almost fallen off the kitchen bar stool a few times.
I'm afraid I might forget in the morning or be in too big a hurry to get to PRISON.

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  182. I was also wondering if I'm going to shoot any more armed intruders tonight in my dream. At about 3 a.m. today I put a single BULLET hole in the chest of a dude who pulled a pistol on me (sort of Old West style). A single BULLET hole with a .410 shot gun. That was a weird dream.
