Hey everyone. Thanks for another fun night on the blog. I think a few people became agitated over the Ziemba/OL discussion, but I don't think anyone was trying to be untoward. We all agree that the OL is playing at a much higher level this season. Ziemba still is drawing penalties. Facts are facts.I don't have much else to say. This is early morning for me!

From what I have seen sounds like more stuff for girls. I am not big into character greets so most of it sounds kind of eh to me. The Ariel attraction could be cool and Dumbo could use an update so we'll see.

ReplyDeleteThe Ariel attraction is supposed to be an E-attraction. The best thing is the new sitdown restaurant, Beast's Castle. The Dumbo expanded area is good for the young ones. Overall, it is a ton of stuff for girls, which is good for me and my girls. I'm glad they are doing something at the Magic Kingdom. It's been awhile. I wish they would re-tool Adventureland to more Pirates to balance out the Fairies and Princess areas.

ReplyDeleteI didn't read all the Ziemba stuff last night, but I do find the irony that we have had I think 2 false start penalties and Ziemba has been the guilty party on both. I also may be wrong, but wasn't Kodi Burns the QB each time they occurred?

I nearly busted a gut laughing when the ref called the illegal motion penalty against us in the MSU game because I knew he was going to say 73. It has almost become a new penalty unto itself. How many Ziembas did we get last game. Well, just one. We have averaged one Ziemba a game this season.

Here is one WV "person" that predicts WVU will win and that there is no way that AU's offense can score more than a TD a quarter on their Defense. WV could win the game, but i'd be surprised if they keep Auburn's offense under 30 points.

Thanks for the WV link, Eddie. I do see why the WV fans would be feeling good after a good performance against ECU. Their QB had outstanding numbers.
ReplyDeleteI think the guy is likely underestimating how good MSU was, and particularly how good the MSU running game is. The MSU offense gives Auburn issues because it is a power running attack. With our small linebackers, we are more geared to stopping a more speed oriented attack.
I do think that the 24 that MSU put on us is misleading. Seven points came off the blocked punt.
Also, our defensive strengths are the secondary and the defensive ends. I think WV will end up being surprised at how much of a step up their vulnerable offensive line will face against us. I look for another big performance from Nick Fairley, Coleman, and Goggans.
I figure it will by the SEC Championship game zookeeper.

ReplyDeleteTim Tebow amazes me. I don't think I have watched a college football game this season where he wasn't mentioned. It is almost as if the announcers have that on their checklist.

Like my boy the future 4* who'll be 3 in January (my birthday is MUCH MUCH closer than that by the way). There are some days when he and I just don't want to go anywhere but would much rather stay home and do whatever it is we do. And we both cry about it for extended periods. He's a quick study that boy.

You will see how he does as a QB in the pros. He could very well end up playing a different position. He is basically a runningback that can throw. I have seen many QBs I would rather have throwing the ball.

ReplyDeleteI am definitely looking forward to this game. West Virginia is the biggest named opponent we have faced this season. I just don't see their QB putting up the kind of numbers against us that he did against ECU.
ReplyDeleteWe do need Todd to continue to play smart football. No interceptions works for me. With all the long balls he has thrown, I am surprised he hasn't thrown a pick yet. I would like to see more intermediate passes, but I don't see a lot of it with Malzahn's offense.

ReplyDeleteI missed out on the Muschamp talk last night, read it this morning. Which job do you think is more attractive to a football coach- Texas or Georgia? Texas by a nose, or Texas and it's not close? I've always been surprised at how Georgia is not more of a top-5 program than it has been.

Our special teams better be Special this week. They could decide the game for us. Can't afford an effort like last week against this team - or we pay dearly.
ReplyDeleteI'm not as concerned about the punt protection break down we saw - that's fixable. I'm more concerned with the lack of any type of return yardage on punts. The lack thereof keeps putting our offense on a long field. We need to generate some momentum with a decent punt return or two.

ReplyDeleteThat's a good point about playing a lot of guys. I think WVU will move the ball on us but we should be able to move on them. Plus, if AC and the guys up front can get to their QB, that could disrupt the passing game. They only return one starter up front from what I've read. However, they've had two games to get it together.
Bottling up Devine is a tall order as well.
I say I'd like to see CT light it up, but I realize the gameplan will probably be more ball control on the ground.

You know 6 or 7 6 minute drives will keep that high powered WVU offense cold and off the field. Just hope things work out like they have with the first two games now that our D has their feet under themselves for the most part.

Depth at linebacker is my primary concern with this game. Last season they basically killed us in the second half with their receivers basically out running us, coupled with an excellent game by Noel Devine.
ReplyDeleteThinking about our first two games, the second quarter has been our worst quarter. I am hoping we see better play this week. Against MSU, the offense looked confused at times in the second quarter.

ReplyDeleteThey basically killed us in the second half because we ran all of our plays in the first quarter and had no plan for the second half of the game.
That was the story of last year - no plan in the second half.
Hard to have a ball control offense with the fast past game we play IMO Sensi. I don't see us venturing to far away from what we have already seen from AU the first two games - soften them up with the run to bring the safeties up and then hit'em with mid range passes along the edge.
ReplyDeleteI don't think we capitalize on some of the misdirection hand-offs that they have appeared to be setting up for the past couple of games. I think we save those for a future opponent.
We did play ball control against MSU. Ball control means Ben Tate, and he really got us rolling in the second quarter.

ReplyDeleteLogan, you are right. What I mean is the Auburn version of ball control - 6-10 play drives, mostly on the ground, score and wear them down in the process. Granted that only takes 3 mins sometimes, but points on the board always beat what The Realist called the"Tubershell" offense.
Anyone got anything on Fairley? Is he good to go this weekend? He was a wrecking ball in Game 1, but didn't take a snap (as far as I know) in Game 2. We could use some up the middle beef for this one.
ReplyDeleteI would also like to see another receiver step up. Fannin was the go to guy against LaTech. Adams was the go to guy against MSU. Zachery had big plays in both games. I wonder who will step up next.
ReplyDeleteNot knowing anything about Liberty or ECU, but just checked and they rushed for 217 and 195 yds respectively. I do believe Auburn is a better rushing team than either of those two teams.

ReplyDelete1. finding players with arms for kickoff coverage. Arms are necessary to wrap up the returner and take him to the ground. We seem to be playing two hand touch on KO coverage.
2. avoiding punt blocks with our goofy punt formation.

ReplyDeleteI just see a WVU team who is inexperienced on the line with a 1st year starter at QB going on the road into an environment that isn't what they are used to playing in. I also see a team that has given up points and yardage to Liberty and ECU.
Again, I could be wrong and I know they bring more speed than we are used to so far this year, but I'm confident we will do well in this game.
Got a strange feeling this may be Fannin's break out game.

ReplyDeleteWatching this offense reminds me very much of the 2004 Iron Bowl. I think Bama was up 6-0 at the half and the Bambi were excited. I wasn't even concerned because I knew that sooner or later our offense would kick in. I think we layed about 3 touchdowns on them in the third quarter. Suddenly the bambi nation became quiet.
ReplyDeleteThe other thing we need to avoid is the face mask penalties. Last year the ones we have had would have been incidental and 5 yard penalties. The rule change has really hurt us.
ReplyDeleteAs of today, weather forecast is calling for a 40% chance of T'storms after 1 pm all through the evening. I think a wet field would give us a slight advantage with the straight ahead running style we have with Tate. I'd rather see Dry though.

UT is going to become very interesting this weekend. Once they are 1-2, the pressure on Kiffikin will increase. I think they have a patsy of Ohio after Florida, which says they will likely be 2-2 when we play them. Suddenly we look like a must win game to them. I think they have Georgia after us.

ReplyDeleteFlorida has become a different monster since the last time we played them. Their defense is first rate.
ReplyDeleteMr. Tommy the way I would word it is we have not done to bad playing UF. However we are not what we were and they are not what they were either.
ReplyDeleteReally the only way that I can see beating Florida is hanging with them on Offense and matching scores and having a turn over on either "D" or special teams. That is how Ole Miss did it last year and how UAT hung with them last year.

ReplyDeleteI am really pumped about the Florida/Tennessee game. If Tennessee plays like they did against UCLA, it is going to get very ugly. I see their chance as the same chance they will have against us. They need to play ball control. I don't think they can do it against that Gator defense.
