He is related to AU folks and the local rumor is that he was upset about the clandestine never ending PTB/Tubs stuff. Maybe since some water has gone under the bridge, CGC is credible, Colonial has failed and the FBI has the culprits preoccupied, VB is now interested.

By 'gimmicky' he meant Auburn's recruiting. Here's another quote:
