I can't wait to see what kind she brings this weekend. She always surprises us with a different kind. And, Tylerson is making key lime pies. Mmmmm. Better go do a little extra on the elliptical!
Jet, You still got a big deal planned for your daughter's 16th? Can't believe she doesn't want to celebrate in Auburn with 87,000 plus of her favorite friends.
So Corey Grant who professed his love for bama when he committed has attended 2 of Auburn's games and will again be at the Ball State game. For a bamer, he sure is showing Auburn some love.
Kathryn's birthday is in March and usually coincides with ADay. Tylerson is in November and there is always a game. When they were growing up we told them all those people were there to celebrate their birthday.
Her party for Saturday night got scuttled when the band had to switch competitions due to weather. We'll be in Daleville on Saturday, but we're having a fiesta Sunday night.
Getting the license (hopefully) on Monday. She'll be in the homecoming court next weekend. Exciting days for her.
Apparently when Snead was asked about falling from the pressures of the Top 5 rankings he responded "I'm glad." It was reported that the quote was shown on ESPN. All I can say to that is wow.
Jay G- The way Ole Miss handled the Tubs coming to Auburn thing with the Hotty Totty during the Alma Mater and all the other crap they tried to pull, I lost all respect.
That's the safety in being an Auburn fan, Jay G. We know we aren't world beaters, destined for championships, etc., etc. Ole Miss thought they were all that until they ran into a wall last night. Watching hyped up teams fall is fun except when it's our team - see 2003.
it's still a long season. Ole Miss may get it turned around, but my goodness they were anemic on O last nite. for all the hype Snead has been getting he has really struggled through 3 games.
Cincy- That is why polls need to not be released until after at least 4 weeks where you can tell something about teams. These rankings are all based on the way they finished last year.
Can't say I'm excited ... but I'm certainly not surprised. My guess is that there's widespread uneasiness in the Auburn Family that Ole Miss was ordained rather quickly as an SEC West power and it carried over this year without much inspection, yet we're having trouble getting on radar screens.
I believe you had Ole Miss pegged as "pretender" for quite a while, or at least you had them overrated. Many are touchy about our spot in the college football stratosphere, and didn't particularly like Ole Miss' seemingly easy rise and don't particularly mind a little Thursday night-Friday a.m. schadenfreude.
The Tuberville thing was 11 years ago. Give it up!
As far as them being overrated, sure, OK. I guess. If you're still pissed about 2003 and this is your way of venting that steam, I get it.
I've never seen Ole Miss as a championship team. They're just some dudes playing football and they're crazy out of their mind to play in the Cotton Bowl. Good for them.
I see this as you all taunting the semi-ugly girl when a semi-ugly guy turns her down for prom. That's fine with me and all ... I just don't really get it.
i just saw we paid Ball State $800K for this game? for that kind of money it sure had better be a 50-60 point beating. that's a lot of cash money homey.
Well, there's a special present from her late grandmother (my mother told me to give this to her on the 16th birthday -- she has no idea)... looks like she's getting Mrs. Jet's Jeep, and Mrs. Jet will upgrade.
It will be next week, though, before we take care of it.
I would not pull for Ole Miss to lose against a non-SEC team. But all's fair in the love and war between SEC teams. Hey, it was only the 2nd time USC has beaten a top 5 team. How's that for the semi-ugly girl getting a spin at the dance?
The intelligentTHT (if there is such a thing) wanted Ole Miss to win because it could make AU look better when we beat them.
The egotisticalTHT wanted Ole Miss to lose to prove my belief that Ole Miss had no bidness in the top ten. I thought it was ridiculous for them to be ranked that high.
I've been thinking the same about LSwho, but their win at UW looks a bit better after last weekend.
Ecactly Sean. I always pull for a East team vs a West team.
On another note: Three Iowa State football players have been reinstated to the team by the school only two days after they were charged with misdemeanor drug possession earlier this week.
Agreed Jay G. But I still enjoy, and most Auburn fans, whether they admit it or not, feel the same way. It's just bred into I suppose, and may because in reality, we had much more success lately, but we are about the same in history. Ole Miss 2009 is Auburn 2003 all over again.
I applaud the Ole Myth loss for 2 simple reasons: 1) they were vastly overrated and this loss brings them a little closer to reality 2) it helps out the SEC-W situation. With the loss they are already behind the 8-ball in the West standings.
Good article on Darvin. I've enjoyed watching him this year and hope he continues to get better.
PEOPLE OF THE HABOTN, I HAVE RETURNED! Yep, made it home this morning at 7:30 after my final red-eye back from SoCal (at least for that particular project). What a homecoming I had. My AU flag already flying beside my front door, lovingly greeted by my Golden Retriever, my hot wife and my future 4* boy (daughter doesn't live here but is glad I'm home too). The icing on the cake is that I'm now sporting a mighty nice HABOTN cap atop my dome as I sit in my comfy leather chair getting ready to join a work call which will be the one and only work related thing I do today. It's good to be home.
Another thought on the Trooper thing. If Trooper said that's not what he said, McNeil said that's not what he said, and the ESPN reporter said thats' not what he said, when people come on the air and say they do believe that is what he said, they are calling him a liar. That is a whole different ballgame. That really ticks me off.
To answer Jay G's question from forever ago - I am glad to see Ole Miss lose because it was SEC west vs SEC east, and it increases our chances to make the SEC championship game when one of the favorites lost. I like Ole Miss fine, I don't get joy out of their misery, but I am stoked that they lost.
i wasn't trying to steal any thunder Eddie. i didn't want to see the Beasley post go unnoticed. THT's worked pretty hard to give props to that spot. that is all.
Well done Scottie, and has fate would have it, THT is not around. Usually he hides until he gets a call from the bat phone around post 80 and then he pounces.
I like Ole Miss fine, but I tend to pull for the underdog in games that don't matter much to me.
I also feel kind of sorry for Spurrier, though I found him very hard to tolerate when he was at UF. I think that failure has mellowed him through the years.
I think pete carroll should lose two conference games against pasties this year instead of waiting till next year. That way he can go undefeated next year.
you should hear the talk radio here in Knoxville the past two weeks. poor Jonathan Crompton won't be able to get a job at a Burger King in this state if he has another bad game up here vs. Ohio.
every caller has something negative to say about the kid. i've never seen anything like it.
Nothing spells trouble like having too much talent and inadequate preparation by the coaching staff. Anybody else think Ole Miss might have been looking past SC and Vandy to the uat game?
Thanks for the story about Darvin Adams, Jay. He is the perfect example of the kind of receiver we needed to find. Some think our receivers are not tall enough or not fast enough, but that really isn't the key to playing receiver. Adams knows how to execute, where to be, and how to catch. I will take a smart receiver over a speedster any day.
So LA and DC are safe now with the Hotties out of town. I didn't have a favorite teasm last night but Ole Miss proved what I and many others thought ....o v e r r a t e d. Ole Nuttie proved his worth one more time but watch out now he will get someone.
When I turned 16 in 1955, my dad had a 1951 Plymouth. My mom did not drive. I got to use the Plymouth occasionally if I had behaved myself, gone to church, kept my grades up and done all of my chores. My how times have changed.
Something's been bugging me the last couple of days. Does it seem to anyone else that we are practicing revisionist history of the bammer variety by leaving Terry Bowden's picture off of the stadium?
j-z, Bowden had a few good seasons, but I don't see him as one of our greatest coaches. We have had nearly 30 football coaches. Donahue, Jordan, Dye, and Tuberville stand out more than Bowden.
I usually stand by old coaches, but leaving in the middle of the season bothered me. Yea, I think he knew he was gonig to be fired at the end of the season, but you stay there for the players that believed in you. Has any coach with their picture on the stadiumm quit on the team?
Yea, I can see them taking Tuberville over Bowden, but you are right. They could have found somewhere else I suppose. It could also be a Pat Dye influence, but I don't think he was crazy about Tuberville or Bowden.
If you had to pick a Trinity of Auburn football coaches, I'm sorry, but Terry Bowden isn't in that group.
What Shug, Tuberville and Dye did was build and sustain. EACH of those three stayed a year or two too long.
The harsh reality was that Bowden lived off the fat of Dye's recruits, then nearly crashed the program on the rocks when it was entirely his players. I appreciate the attitude and energy he provided in 1993-94, but save Dameyune Craig I'm not sure what he brought us, and I think that had more to do with Joe Whitt.
He can stay in the media guide, but beyond that, he deserves nothing extra special.
scottie-you been listening to sports call in knoxville? i still listen via the web from time to time. you are correct, treatment of catfish crompton = brutal.
UT is interesting. They brought in some great runningbacks to a team that had great runningbacks, but they didn't bring in a any great QBs to a team that desperately needs some alternatives at QB. It is a good example of a team not recruiting to their needs.
i agree SFC. Kiffin & Co. are loading up on skill recruits for next year and got one QB already, but he's not a huge splashy name guy. they're lacking OL guys too for 2010.
UT is kind of in the same boat we are. We got a few big names in last years recruiting class, but didn't really fill our needs. Having a new coaching staff has to have a lot to do with that, and we should do much better this season. We have already done great at getting linebacker commitments. I expect a few more offensive linemen. I would be surprised if UT didn't find another QB.
From my visit to AU Thursday. Look for a BIG weekend on the Plains. BIG TIME OL surprising AU with a visit. Will find out Saturday night who it is. Great news on Dyer & Reed forth coming.
chipchip- recruitng going well unles some aclown goes on the airwaves and tries to start bad rumor about Trooper Taylor or one of the ....nah that would never happen.
We are doing okay recruiting so far, but February is always when it becomes real. We have the potential for a class that improves a lot, but until we get some more of these big commits, it is still wait and see. I just like the linebacker commits so far. I think they will be a good group.
I'm out. Got one last meeting and then to the gym.
Norm-Called my cousin in West Palm Beach today. He was riding his bike for 6 hours, took the cell call (hands free)and chatted like he was in his favorite chair. (He made the Ironma in Kona,HI next month). FYI.
the aclown show does not exist for that day as far as he is concerned. time to look forward to what a great season bammer is having and how ole missed again. forget about the fact that with a few good bounces and improved tackling, AU may be 6-0 heading into a home date with UK. ya think gus will be motivated to beat arky? and UT is ripe while crapton is the qb. i think things are setting up for AU to make a nice run if the D can hold up and improve. i remember the D going through some growing pains chiz's first year as DC. i think they will improve each game without major injury.
RK, I think you are right to not get all excited about recruiting. I don't know how many times we have had a big time recruit sign and turn into a non-factor. Whether you sign big names or not, you never really know what you have until they play some ball. Heck, a lot of times they don't even make it to campus, so recruiting isn't exactly something to bet the farm on.

ReplyDeleteMy son always got hat tricks in soccer. I always wanted one.
ReplyDeleteYou can't stop cincy.
ReplyDeleteLike Quentin, I have completed the goals for my life :)
ReplyDeleteAnd your daughter bakes good cookies, CincyT ... at least that's what Orville Redenbacher-Z says.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see what kind she brings this weekend. She always surprises us with a different kind. And, Tylerson is making key lime pies. Mmmmm. Better go do a little extra on the elliptical!
ReplyDeletecincy...
ReplyDeleteWe're just doing what we do - helping folks achieve life goals.
Jet- You still in DC?
ReplyDeleteThanks, ehyou!
ReplyDeleteJet,

I bet there are some long faces trudging a certain campus in Oxford this morning.
ReplyDeleteI love it.
He's wishing, Eddie.
ReplyDeleteApparently when Snead was asked about falling from the pressures of the Top 5 rankings he responded "I'm glad." It was reported that the quote was shown on ESPN. All I can say to that is wow.
ReplyDeleteI don't understand the enthusiasm around here for Ole Miss' loss.
ReplyDeleteThe Alabama stuff makes sense to me.
Ole Miss? What have they done to you?
We don't like Nutt.
ReplyDeleteListening to JKEV's show and he has a guy that said the Tebow doesn't know how to live without Percy Harvey this year. Who is Percy Harvey???? :)
ReplyDeleteJay G- The way Ole Miss handled the Tubs coming to Auburn thing with the Hotty Totty during the Alma Mater and all the other crap they tried to pull, I lost all respect.

I just assumed Ole Miss was greatly overrated, so I'm just happy to be right.
ReplyDeleteBut Ole Miss does have the Lexington Brothers and they are first class when it comes to Football Parody Songs.
ReplyDeleteAnd for Ole Miss to be ranked 4th in the nation after beating Memphis and Southeastern Louisiana is ridiculous.
ReplyDeleteit's still a long season. Ole Miss may get it turned around, but my goodness they were anemic on O last nite. for all the hype Snead has been getting he has really struggled through 3 games.
ReplyDeletei'm still bitter from the 2003 Ole Miss loss.
ReplyDeletePlus, I like Spurrier. Haven't always liked him, but now I kind of feel sorry for him.
ReplyDeleteMy dad's an MSU alum.
ReplyDeleteMy Ole Miss hatred runs deeeeeep.
Jay, are any of those good enough reasons?
ReplyDeleteCincy- That is why polls need to not be released until after at least 4 weeks where you can tell something about teams. These rankings are all based on the way they finished last year.

At least, that's my theory.
so Jet, what is Sweetie getting for her Sweet 16 present? i got an '87 Chevy Blazer for mine. i loved that ride. it was pimp.
ReplyDeleteThe Tuberville thing was 11 years ago. Give it up!
ReplyDeleteAs far as them being overrated, sure, OK. I guess. If you're still pissed about 2003 and this is your way of venting that steam, I get it.

ReplyDeleteWell, there's a special present from her late grandmother (my mother told me to give this to her on the 16th birthday -- she has no idea)... looks like she's getting Mrs. Jet's Jeep, and Mrs. Jet will upgrade.

t-tops? u suck. ;)
ReplyDeletecool. i bet Mrs. Jet is ultra-happy about this.
ReplyDeleteRod Smith's house got struck by lightning and burned down. Please keep him and his family in your prayers.
ReplyDeleteRod Smith has a house already?
ReplyDeleteI didn't own a house until I was 30!
Story on Rod Smith's family's house
ReplyDeleteOther than bama, I don't like it when SECW teams lose games. I had sympathies with spurrier, but I wanted Ole Miss to win that one.
ReplyDeleteI got a 1980 two-tone gold and brown Chevy Silverado for my 16th b-day.
ReplyDeleteWell, your right, I'll give up the joy of Ole Miss losing, but to be honest, anytime a highly rated SEC West team loses, I love it.
ReplyDeleteJKEV already doing an impromptu hatin with Jay G segment without Jay G.
ReplyDeleteI would not pull for Ole Miss to lose against a non-SEC team. But all's fair in the love and war between SEC teams. Hey, it was only the 2nd time USC has beaten a top 5 team. How's that for the semi-ugly girl getting a spin at the dance?
ReplyDeletei honestly don't hate Ole Miss. i just find it funny b/c of all the ridiculous love they were getting.
ReplyDeletemy hate resonates towards all those in tuscaloosa and the toothless morons here in east tennessee.
Here is my ranking of teams I enjoy seeing lose:
ReplyDelete1A- Bama
1B- Georgia
3- Tennessee
4- LSU
5- Ole Miss
6- Florida
7- Arkansas
8- Miss State
9- South Carolina
10- Kentucky
11- Vandy

I've been thinking the same about LSwho, but their win at UW looks a bit better after last weekend.
did you notice the sign in the stadium last nite giving props for most wins in a season (10)? i kept thinking, really? 10?
ReplyDeleteIf a West team is playing an East team, I always pull for the East team. Why? Because it only helps us in the standings.
ReplyDeleteIt's silly to waste perfectly good hatin' energy on the likes of Ole Miss. As Jay G said, taunting the semi-ugly girl is lame.
Jay G needs to go on the air and say "ha ha, Ole Miss lost".
ReplyDeleteRK- That would be priceless after listening to JKEV this morning. I would love to have him do that.
ReplyDeleteI retract my Tubs statement. Tnat for sure is going to be thrown in my face in a few minutes. I can just feel it.
ReplyDeletetaunting the Mississippi radio station (and their listeners). that would be funny. go JG!
ReplyDeleteIt's a Houston Nutt coached team...8-4 average. A year or two at 10-2 a year or two at 6-6, then it evens out.
ReplyDeleteEddie: There's a HUGE CHASM between 4 and everything else.
ReplyDeleteThe top four (five) challenge for titles.
The others don't.
Ecactly Sean. I always pull for a East team vs a West team.
ReplyDeleteOn another note: Three Iowa State football players have been reinstated to the team by the school only two days after they were charged with misdemeanor drug possession earlier this week.

I see that Jay G is now a guitar hero guy instead of rock band guy.
ReplyDeleteAgreed Jay G. But I still enjoy, and most Auburn fans, whether they admit it or not, feel the same way. It's just bred into I suppose, and may because in reality, we had much more success lately, but we are about the same in history. Ole Miss 2009 is Auburn 2003 all over again.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't be surprised now to see Ole Miss beat someone they probably shouldn't beat. Nutt loves being the underdog.
ReplyDeleteEddie, when Steve sees the Tuberville comment, you are in serious trouble.
what is this theme music called on the HATE segment? anyone know? J-Kev?
ReplyDeleteWow, dead here now.
ReplyDeleteScrew Ole Miss, they killed this thread, time to move on.
ReplyDeleteDid Jay just say he was DISAPPOINTED in the hotties?
ReplyDeleteIT's GAME DAY!!!
ReplyDeleteHABOTN BOWL I
So the Trooper Taylor was not a big story in Mississippi either. Only the Bamer media makes it a big deal.
ReplyDeleteThis quote by Rocker is in reference to Jake Ricks interception and subsequent tackle by Devine.
ReplyDelete"Devine did the old elementary school trick where he stuck his foot in between his legs. I said, `He got you down, big boy.'"
Game day for sure JD, you are going down.
ReplyDeleteI'm studying up on all the cheat codes now :).
Is JKEV Soarineagle?
ReplyDeleteI applaud the Ole Myth loss for 2 simple reasons:
ReplyDelete1) they were vastly overrated and this loss brings them a little closer to reality
2) it helps out the SEC-W situation. With the loss they are already behind the 8-ball in the West standings.
Good article on Darvin. I've enjoyed watching him this year and hope he continues to get better.
WAM and Queen....this segment is going downhill fast.
ReplyDeleteRed Barchetta!
ReplyDeleteGuitar Hero 5 is aiight.
ReplyDeleteI get tired of Beatles Rock Band at times.
PEOPLE OF THE HABOTN, I HAVE RETURNED! Yep, made it home this morning at 7:30 after my final red-eye back from SoCal (at least for that particular project). What a homecoming I had. ReplyDeleteI know I don't understand, but why are we talking about rock band and stuff rather than sports?
ReplyDeleteCincy- It should. Also, I believe there was a motive there.
ReplyDeleteElton John in the 70's was a great artist...Elton John after that was just movie soundtracks and ballads.
ReplyDeleteCorch Ervin Meyers.
ReplyDeleteNo way Florida beats Kentucky that bad. I think that will be closer than most think.
ReplyDeleteTo answer Jay G's question from forever ago - I am glad to see Ole Miss lose because it was SEC west vs SEC east, and it increases our chances to make the SEC championship game when one of the favorites lost. ReplyDeleteScottie B with the 2nd shout out.
ReplyDeletehey, J-Kev showed me some love. any time bro. ;)
ReplyDeleteSo about this Layla Kiffin photo...
ReplyDeleteCincy, we discuss a variety of topics on HATIN'.
ReplyDeleteSorry if you find the Rock Band stuff off-putting. It's just a dalliance; we talk plenty of football as well.
i wasn't trying to steal any thunder Eddie. i didn't want to see the Beasley post go unnoticed. THT's worked pretty hard to give props to that spot. that is all.

Jay,
ReplyDeleteI said I don't understand, doesn't bother me, just one of those things that escapes me, one of many :)
Brutal Ole Miss joke just on JKev's show, "What is the difference between Ole Miss and Bret Favre? A- Bret Favre is still #4."
ReplyDeleteThat is funny.
I'm headed out for some gym soccer.
ReplyDeletePiece to j00 all!
Welcome back Norm
ReplyDeleteGym soccer sounds better than sitting at your desk pretending to be busy.
ReplyDeletepiece.
ReplyDeleteOle Miss was on an SI preview cover--the jinx continues.
ReplyDeleteScottie B = Mr. It's Almost October!!!
ReplyDeleteYou made my day!!!
I must get back to this cesspool called work.
I think pete carroll should lose two conference games against pasties this year instead of waiting till next year. That way he can go undefeated next year.
ReplyDeleteSomeone feeling sorry for Spurrier. Really?
ReplyDeleteI think Pete Carroll wears pasties.
ReplyDeleteyou should hear the talk radio here in Knoxville the past two weeks. poor Jonathan Crompton won't be able to get a job at a Burger King in this state if he has another bad game up here vs. Ohio.
ReplyDeleteevery caller has something negative to say about the kid. i've never seen anything like it.
Don't confuse Carroll with Tressel
ReplyDeleteMaybe I'm getting him mixed up with Mike Price.
ReplyDeletethis morning on local radio in jackson, one caller said that Ole Miss' problem last night might've been that they "just might be too talented!"
ReplyDeletethe host, Bo Bounds, also said that now they're probable only looking at a 9 or 10 win season now.
too talented? yup, too much talent is a huge problem.
ReplyDeleteI heard somebody say that same thing about LSU on a show this morning. I know it sure caused UF a lot of problems last year.
ReplyDeleteJay G ...
ReplyDeleteNothing like having a story left out of the paper. It endears one further to The Man.
Welcome us back, Norm.
My flight wasn't as arduous as yours though.
Nothing spells trouble like having too much talent and inadequate preparation by the coaching staff. Anybody else think Ole Miss might have been looking past SC and Vandy to the uat game?

Ole Nuttie proved his worth one more time but watch out now he will get someone.
When I turned 16. I got my shoes re-soled.

ReplyDeleteIn 1950 when I turned 16 I had worked at A&P sacking groceries
ReplyDeleteand bought a 1937 Ford two door.

Something's been bugging me the last couple of days. Does it seem to anyone else that we are practicing revisionist history of the bammer variety by leaving Terry Bowden's picture off of the stadium?
ReplyDeleteTerry Who?
ReplyDeleteI think Terry's picture should still be there for his 11-0 season.
ReplyDeletej-z, Bowden had a few good seasons, but I don't see him as one of our greatest coaches. We have had nearly 30 football coaches. Donahue, Jordan, Dye, and Tuberville stand out more than Bowden.
ReplyDeleteI agree, I was throwing a jab at J-Z, one of my favorite pass times.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you Digger. He wasn't perfect, but he was still our coach and had a pretty good run for a couple of years.
ReplyDeleteHow about Tony Franklin Steve?
ReplyDeleteI usually stand by old coaches, but leaving in the middle of the season bothered me. Yea, I think he knew he was gonig to be fired at the end of the season, but you stay there for the players that believed in you. Has any coach with their picture on the stadiumm quit on the team?
ReplyDeleteWhat about him, IV?
ReplyDeleteI am out of here. I have got to go to work.
ReplyDeleteMaybe it wouldn't bother me as much if his picture hadn't been removed.
ReplyDeleteDo we take his name out of the record books too?
Good point, j-z. That is kind of strange. What did they replace his picture with?
ReplyDeleteTubs. I think there had to be room for both.
ReplyDeleteYea, I can see them taking Tuberville over Bowden, but you are right. They could have found somewhere else I suppose. It could also be a Pat Dye influence, but I don't think he was crazy about Tuberville or Bowden.
ReplyDeleteWhich other coaches are pictured on the stadium?
ReplyDeleteIf you had to pick a Trinity of Auburn football coaches, I'm sorry, but Terry Bowden isn't in that group.
ReplyDeleteWhat Shug, Tuberville and Dye did was build and sustain.
I am correct on this ... no need to debate.
What is this about a Layla Kiffin photo? I would like to see said photo.
ReplyDeletescottie-you been listening to sports call in knoxville? i still listen via the web from time to time. you are correct, treatment of catfish crompton = brutal.
ReplyDeleteyup wes. not pretty for Crompton. if he struggles this weekend vs. Ohio he's gonna get it even worse (if possible).
ReplyDeleteMike Donahue was also a great Auburn coach, although he was way before my time.
ReplyDeleteUT is interesting. They brought in some great runningbacks to a team that had great runningbacks, but they didn't bring in a any great QBs to a team that desperately needs some alternatives at QB. It is a good example of a team not recruiting to their needs.
ReplyDeletei just hope there are no brick throwing incidents. oh wait, wrong school.
ReplyDeletei agree SFC. Kiffin & Co. are loading up on skill recruits for next year and got one QB already, but he's not a huge splashy name guy. they're lacking OL guys too for 2010.
ReplyDeleterandom UT recruiting update. sorry.

ReplyDeleteUT is kind of in the same boat we are.
ReplyDeleteUT coaches sure do like to talk
ReplyDeletePearl Apologizes
Where all da Hotties @?
ReplyDeleteI thought Pearl's joke was kind of funny...is it me or do people tend to overreact now-a-days?
ReplyDeletesean - it is not just you. The whole world is full of sissies and crybabies now. Except me
ReplyDeletenews on the crutin' front seems pretty good right now. i'll be interested to see how the coaches finish up in february.
ReplyDeleteFrom my visit to AU Thursday. Look for a BIG weekend on the Plains. BIG TIME OL surprising AU with a visit. Will find out Saturday night who it is.
ReplyDeleteGreat news on Dyer & Reed forth coming.
AU's train is fillng up fast for 2010.
Is it okay for me to drop the cautious part of being cautiously optimistic?
ReplyDeletechipchip- recruitng going well unles some aclown goes on the airwaves and tries to start bad rumor about Trooper Taylor or one of the ....nah that would never happen.
ReplyDeleteSean, perhaps I misunderstood the joke, but evidently Pearl offended the klan.
ReplyDeleteAnd they're very sensitive to ridicule.

ReplyDeleteWe are doing okay recruiting so far, but February is always when it becomes real. We have the potential for a class that improves a lot, but until we get some more of these big commits, it is still wait and see. I just like the linebacker commits so far. I think they will be a good group.
ReplyDeleteI'm out. Got one last meeting and then to the gym.
ReplyDeleteNorm-Called my cousin in West Palm Beach today. He was riding his bike for 6 hours, took the cell call (hands free)and chatted like he was in his favorite chair. (He made the Ironma in Kona,HI next month). FYI.
That band dive was pretty wild:)
ReplyDeleteAm I the only one who doesn't follow recruiting that closely?
ReplyDeletethe aclown show does not exist for that day as far as he is concerned. time to look forward to what a great season bammer is having and how ole missed again. forget about the fact that with a few good bounces and improved tackling, AU may be 6-0 heading into a home date with UK. ya think gus will be motivated to beat arky? and UT is ripe while crapton is the qb. i think things are setting up for AU to make a nice run if the D can hold up and improve. i remember the D going through some growing pains chiz's first year as DC. i think they will improve each game without major injury.

ReplyDeleteTickets to Los Angeles/Las Vegas bachelor party booked. Watch out for a Fear and Loathing/The Hangover style weekend. I hope I don't die.
ReplyDeleteWell I found that video funny to start, but it turns into an ND promotional video at the end.
ReplyDeleteDidn't feel it appropriate so I deleted the post. Sorry.
Wait, Band Dive? Best highlight of last weekend. We put the game on hold to rewind and watch it again...20 times. It was that good.
ReplyDeletePF, if you start off your night on the top of a casnio taking Jager shots, then be worried. real worried.
ReplyDeleteRK...
ReplyDeleteIn answer to your question:
no
RK, I think you are right to not get all excited about recruiting. I don't know how many times we have had a big time recruit sign and turn into a non-factor. Whether you sign big names or not, you never really know what you have until they play some ball. Heck, a lot of times they don't even make it to campus, so recruiting isn't exactly something to bet the farm on.
ReplyDeletePF...
ReplyDeleteIf you're gonna have a Fear & Loathing type of bachelor party, please let me know where I can get some mescaline.
Thanks.
stars stars stars, blah, blah blah.
ReplyDeleteWell PF now you can watch ND's Golden Tate diving into MSU marching band as many times as you want.
ReplyDeleteGolden Tate dive - a music video
I'm turning bipolar.
I do think maturity and how well a player adjusts to a college lifestyle is a huge factor.
ReplyDeleteGot any spare peyote or ether PF?
ReplyDeleteAh, that's awesome. Like Friday and Office Space, I could watch that every day for the rest of my life and it would never get old.
ReplyDeleteRK- You're not right...same as the link.
ReplyDeletej-z and ehyou, meet me in LA in mid october and you'll find out all about what I am and am not getting into.
ReplyDeleteIf there's a Layla Kiffin photo available, please make said photo available ASAP. Hopefully Bruce Pearl is apologizing for that orange blazer.
ReplyDeleteThanks,
Jet
