Hey everyone. I have arrived at the stadium here in Auburn and let me tell you: It's wet again. Very wet. I was caught in a hellacious storm on the way here, but it hasn't hit this area yet. Or won't. I dunno.
- PROGRAMMING NOTE: Kickoff has been delayed 30 minutes because of weather. Toe meets leather at 6:30 p.m. CDT.
- John Sullen will start at LG. No word on what's up with Byron Isom.
- Anthony Gulley is wearing No. 84 tonight.
- Mike Blanc is starting at DT. Nick Fairley is not.
- Your injury brigade looks like this: LB Spencer Pybus, DE Nosa Eguae, OL A.J. Greene, OL Jorell Bostrom, OL Vance Smith, S Mike McNeil and S Drew Cole.
Cole is on crutches and has a boot on his left foot.
Dry substance
ReplyDeleteI hope we come out with a better start after the delay than last week...
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to hear about the rain for all you guys going. I was there last week, and let me tell you- it wasn't all that fun
ReplyDeleteI need to count how many consecutive games I've attended. It's a lot ... and never before have I seen a game delayed.
ReplyDeleteNow it's happening two weeks in a row.
WARRRRR EAGLE!!!
ReplyDeleteGO TIGERS!!!!!!!!!
Man, we are good in the rain. If there is no thunder, lets get it going.
ReplyDeleteThis is my 128th consecutive game. Haven't missed since the Idaho game, 9/11/99.
ReplyDeleteBall !
ReplyDeletewow, and still not a fan :-(
ReplyDeleteI just checked weather.com and it appears that there is some orange and red stuff in the area, but there is only a little break. More is coming.
ReplyDeleteJay, sooner or later you will have to yield to the force and become a fan. Why resist? You could make it easier on yourself.
ReplyDeleteWow! Everyone is just getting over their illnesses from the deluge last week. Hope it dries out. I'm afraid that the crowd won't stay for Ball State the same as it did for WVU.
ReplyDeleteI don't know if this ESPN color guy is up on current events, but this game is over. Arkansas will not get back in this game.
ReplyDeleteNo thanks.
ReplyDeleteThis is my job. I couldn't see myself ever being an Auburn fan. It's not because Auburn is a weak program. Or than Auburn fans are weak. It's just work to me and it'll probably always feel like work to me.
I have adopted Air Force as my team. WE have a big game against the Fightin' Borgi (Al Borges plural) this afternoon: San Diego State.
In fact, just received text saying that people are on the way home from the Plains.
ReplyDeleteHey Jay, working on saying "Touchdown Auburn" with enthusiasm and maybe you work your way into the broadcast booth.
ReplyDeleteJGT - I understand. It would be very weird if you were a fan. But it is my obligation to keep wishing ;-)
ReplyDeleteI hope the team doesn't take Ball State lightly. The pickem this week has been a blood letting. Ball State ain't good, but you never can tell.
ReplyDeleteso how many more years before all the Florida I-A schools form their own conference?
ReplyDeleteNo, I don't think so, either. But just a thought to consider during the rain delay.
there's no way in the world I could have survived attendance at 128 consecutive AU games at my current level of AU attachment. The emotional stress would have buried me by now.
ReplyDeleteInteresting point THT.
ReplyDeleteI said this a couple of years ago to some friends. I think South Florida has it within them to become a big time program out of nowhere, like Florida St. and Miami in the late 70s, early 80s. They have a huge university (35,000 undergrads) and they're in a great location for recruiting.
And they play in a BCS conference.
ReplyDeleteUnless I was just retired and spent the fall chasing football games, I don't think I could handle all the traveling, and business travel is the worst.
ReplyDeleteBad call there. I would have called that a no call.
ReplyDeleteTCU!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like Elroy may have gotten himself banged up. When you are ahead by 4 touchdowns in the 4th quarter, but starting QB needs to be watching from the sidelines.
ReplyDeleteMy mom has Direct TV and she needs to know what channel the Auburn game is on. Can anyone tell me.
ReplyDeleteClemson has 1 minute to go 55 yards and score a TD in the driving rain.
ReplyDeleteShould be fun.
Auburn kickoff: 1 hour.
ReplyDeleteKathy: I think it's 646.
ReplyDeleteShe'll need a subscription for that channel.
Kathy, it should be a Fox Sports Channel.
ReplyDeleteHate to say it, but bammer is #1. They would destroy FL or TX right now, and their schedule looks very weak right now.
ReplyDeleteTheir biggest test will be in Jordan-Hare.
TCU wins, 14-10.
ReplyDeleteHow 'bout them Horned Frogs!!! I've always liked TCU, even before Coach Sullivan.
ReplyDeleteWhy haven't they put in their #2 QB? This is when they get injured.
ReplyDeleteHello, Hotties
ReplyDeleteI thought that Miami was a team under the radar.
Guess I was wrong, I at least thought they would beat VT.
Sullen getting the start??
ReplyDeleteAdded a few notes to the main blog.
ReplyDeleteI hope TCU and Boise State go undefeated, just to keep things messy. TCU has the more difficult schedule. I had TCU at #9 two weeks ago (and ahead of Ole Myth). I'll have to show the purple lizards some more love in the next pretend poll.
ReplyDeleteTCU is the unlucky of the big 3 Mountain West teams. They have to make a trip out to Utah every year to play either BYU or Utah whereas last year Utah got TCU and BYU at home while this year BYU gets Utah and TCU at home.
ReplyDeleteUh oh, what's up with Isom. We can't afford to lose any OL. Hopefully it's "just the flu!"
ReplyDeleteJGT, was Isom out for warmups?
ReplyDeleteSaban not trying to run it up on Petrino..
ReplyDeleteWho takes it easy on Petrino?
Isom seemed to limp around a little bit at the end of the WVU game if I remember correctly. Hopefully it's just precautionary.
ReplyDeleteI hope so Miller. We will need him next week.
ReplyDeleteThat injury brigade is to big heading into the Tenn. game.
ReplyDeleteIs it still raining in Auburn?
ReplyDeleteNo rain here.
ReplyDeleteI have not seen Isom.
ReplyDelete2 more minutes til they switch from the massacre in Austin to the massacre in Auburn!!!
ReplyDeleteThis weeks pickup looks horrible. Congrats to scottie b and THT for shining when most of us are struggling.
ReplyDeleteNo reason to go to Auburn yet. We won't be kicking off for a while.
ReplyDeleteyou've got to be kidding, SFC? I was just thinking how bad I must be doing this week. Of course, as bad as my short term memory is, I have no recollection of the spreads or who I picked by the time Saturday rolls around.
ReplyDeleteYEA!!!!!!! It's Jordan-Hare in HD!!!!!
UF 31-KY 0 end of 1st qtr. UF needs to sit Tebow out.
ReplyDeleteI'm 6-5 thus far, and consider myself pretty lucky.
ReplyDeleteTook the dogs in the bottom four games on the slate, that will make or break me.
why is there a headlight on Dave Archer's head?
ReplyDeletewow, I can't wait to hear what the attendance is tonight. It looks pretty empty, relatively speaking.
ReplyDeleteI love HD
ReplyDeleteFunny, THT. I was just stated that I was surprised to see so many people there!
ReplyDeletewho is GA. playing today?
ReplyDeletethis must be a Lakers crowd coming in tonight.
ReplyDeleteAZ State kicking off tween the hedges
ReplyDeleteDon't have Fox South HD out here in Denver. :(
ReplyDeleteSlummming it on 360 tonight.
Love me some Lakers THT!!! Husband just talking about getting some new electronic something so we can watch more games this year.
ReplyDeleteGA on TV tonight?
ReplyDeleteLight on Dave Archer's head - maybe he is into miners*? That would have made sense with the coal miners from WV last week.
ReplyDelete* note that is different than James, who is into minors.
sigh. quote from FSS analyst guy "Let's get Chizzy with it."
ReplyDeleteESPNU Mikey
ReplyDeleteJames needs to get in here and defend himself occasionally.
ReplyDeleteDuring the rain delay they are showing Chizik miked up at practice - sounds like a bad McDonald's commercial with him repeated "I love it" constantly
ReplyDeleteI love it!!!
ReplyDeleteDefend myself like Arkansas defense?
ReplyDeleteJGT - James will probably invite you over to the new house for a Yeungling - just make sure he doesn't slip a micky in it
ReplyDeletethanks Wakerider
ReplyDeleteI have options... FS-South HD or SunSports HD... what to do, what to do?
ReplyDeleteGa on ESPNU.
ReplyDeleteI wonder when was the late game the Sun Debis played in the rain.
ReplyDeleteProbably would have been in Seattle, Corvallis, or Eugene.
why is the flag at half staff?
ReplyDeleteD.Miller
ReplyDeletedepends do you still get the same crappy announcers??
Kentucky has 6 total yards with 10 minutes left in the 1st half...
ReplyDeleteDon't know yet, DL... I'll check when the game starts...
ReplyDeletedon't forget AU Women's soccer at 3 EDT tomorrowon ESPNU
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know how ot stream/get the au announcers via the internet
ReplyDeleteDL - it needs to be at half-staff because the game has been delayed by 30 minutes - otherwise it would be at full staff for four hours, and someone would need to call a urologist (but thanks for noticing)
ReplyDeleteWow, Pitt blew a 31-17 late 3rd quarter lead and lost to NCSU 38-31.
ReplyDeleteNICE
ReplyDeleteEvening Hotties!!!
ReplyDeleteLet's kick some butt!
I should probably have been pulling for the school from my home state, but we loved our year at Pitt so much that I'm a bit disappointed they lost today :-(
ReplyDeleteCrompton throws a pick.
ReplyDeleteOhio about to go up 14-7.
ReplyDeleteI predict 100 yard games for both Tate (Ben) and FAH, 350+ team total on ground.
ReplyDeleteTouchdown Ohio. 14-7 over UT. Still very early. I predict 40 consecutive runs and a 35-14 win for the Vols.
ReplyDeleteHello Hots! I punked out today and decided to stay dry instead of heading to JH. But that means I get to watch the game with you good people
ReplyDeleteWhat's up with Ted Roof wearing a yellow jacket?
ReplyDeleteCouldn't anybody find him a navy or burnt orange one?
Wow good crowd!
ReplyDeleteLooks like Ball State didn't travel very well...
ReplyDeleteGame thread UPZ.
ReplyDeleteStill with the kickoff coverage deficiencies? sheesh!
ReplyDeleteHi BigCat
ReplyDeleteLET'S GO DEFENSE!!!
'Toro said hello to the QB right there...
ReplyDeleteOh boy here we go!
ReplyDeleteok lets catch the ball
ReplyDeleteI think these Tigers like starting slow!
ReplyDeleteOur special teams are going to cost us some games. This is getting ridiculous.
ReplyDeleteso much for the starters resting
ReplyDelete
