Welcome to Jordan-Hare Stadium

Hey everyone. I have arrived at the stadium here in Auburn and let me tell you: It's wet again. Very wet. I was caught in a hellacious storm on the way here, but it hasn't hit this area yet. Or won't. I dunno.

  • PROGRAMMING NOTE: Kickoff has been delayed 30 minutes because of weather. Toe meets leather at 6:30 p.m. CDT.

  • John Sullen will start at LG. No word on what's up with Byron Isom.

  • Anthony Gulley is wearing No. 84 tonight.

  • Mike Blanc is starting at DT. Nick Fairley is not.

  • Your injury brigade looks like this: LB Spencer Pybus, DE Nosa Eguae, OL A.J. Greene, OL Jorell Bostrom, OL Vance Smith, S Mike McNeil and S Drew Cole.

Cole is on crutches and has a boot on his left foot.

  1. I hope we come out with a better start after the delay than last week...

  2. I'm sorry to hear about the rain for all you guys going. I was there last week, and let me tell you- it wasn't all that fun

    ReplyDelete
  3. I need to count how many consecutive games I've attended. It's a lot ... and never before have I seen a game delayed.

Now it's happening two weeks in a row.

  4. WARRRRR EAGLE!!!

    GO TIGERS!!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  5. Man, we are good in the rain. If there is no thunder, lets get it going.

    ReplyDelete
  6. This is my 128th consecutive game. Haven't missed since the Idaho game, 9/11/99.

    ReplyDelete
  7. wow, and still not a fan :-(

    ReplyDelete
  8. I just checked weather.com and it appears that there is some orange and red stuff in the area, but there is only a little break. More is coming.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Jay, sooner or later you will have to yield to the force and become a fan. Why resist? You could make it easier on yourself.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Wow! Everyone is just getting over their illnesses from the deluge last week. Hope it dries out. I'm afraid that the crowd won't stay for Ball State the same as it did for WVU.

    ReplyDelete
  11. I don't know if this ESPN color guy is up on current events, but this game is over. Arkansas will not get back in this game.

    ReplyDelete
  12. No thanks.

This is my job. I couldn't see myself ever being an Auburn fan. It's not because Auburn is a weak program. Or than Auburn fans are weak. It's just work to me and it'll probably always feel like work to me.

I have adopted Air Force as my team. WE have a big game against the Fightin' Borgi (Al Borges plural) this afternoon: San Diego State.

  13. In fact, just received text saying that people are on the way home from the Plains.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Hey Jay, working on saying "Touchdown Auburn" with enthusiasm and maybe you work your way into the broadcast booth.

    ReplyDelete
  15. JGT - I understand. It would be very weird if you were a fan. But it is my obligation to keep wishing ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  16. I hope the team doesn't take Ball State lightly. The pickem this week has been a blood letting. Ball State ain't good, but you never can tell.

    ReplyDelete
  17. so how many more years before all the Florida I-A schools form their own conference?

No, I don't think so, either. But just a thought to consider during the rain delay.

    ReplyDelete
  18. there's no way in the world I could have survived attendance at 128 consecutive AU games at my current level of AU attachment. The emotional stress would have buried me by now.

  19. Interesting point THT.

I said this a couple of years ago to some friends. I think South Florida has it within them to become a big time program out of nowhere, like Florida St. and Miami in the late 70s, early 80s. They have a huge university (35,000 undergrads) and they're in a great location for recruiting.

    ReplyDelete
  20. And they play in a BCS conference.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Unless I was just retired and spent the fall chasing football games, I don't think I could handle all the traveling, and business travel is the worst.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Bad call there. I would have called that a no call.

    ReplyDelete
  23. It looks like Elroy may have gotten himself banged up. When you are ahead by 4 touchdowns in the 4th quarter, but starting QB needs to be watching from the sidelines.

    ReplyDelete
  24. My mom has Direct TV and she needs to know what channel the Auburn game is on. Can anyone tell me.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Clemson has 1 minute to go 55 yards and score a TD in the driving rain.

    Should be fun.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Auburn kickoff: 1 hour.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Kathy: I think it's 646.

She'll need a subscription for that channel.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Kathy, it should be a Fox Sports Channel.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Hate to say it, but bammer is #1. They would destroy FL or TX right now, and their schedule looks very weak right now.

Their biggest test will be in Jordan-Hare.

    ReplyDelete
  30. How 'bout them Horned Frogs!!! I've always liked TCU, even before Coach Sullivan.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Why haven't they put in their #2 QB? This is when they get injured.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Hello, Hotties

I thought that Miami was a team under the radar.

Guess I was wrong, I at least thought they would beat VT.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Sullen getting the start??

    ReplyDelete
  34. Added a few notes to the main blog.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I hope TCU and Boise State go undefeated, just to keep things messy. TCU has the more difficult schedule. I had TCU at #9 two weeks ago (and ahead of Ole Myth). I'll have to show the purple lizards some more love in the next pretend poll.

    ReplyDelete
  36. TCU is the unlucky of the big 3 Mountain West teams. They have to make a trip out to Utah every year to play either BYU or Utah whereas last year Utah got TCU and BYU at home while this year BYU gets Utah and TCU at home.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Uh oh, what's up with Isom. We can't afford to lose any OL. Hopefully it's "just the flu!"

    ReplyDelete
  38. JGT, was Isom out for warmups?

    ReplyDelete
  39. Saban not trying to run it up on Petrino..

Who takes it easy on Petrino?

    ReplyDelete
  40. Isom seemed to limp around a little bit at the end of the WVU game if I remember correctly. Hopefully it's just precautionary.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I hope so Miller. We will need him next week.

    ReplyDelete
  42. That injury brigade is to big heading into the Tenn. game.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Is it still raining in Auburn?

    ReplyDelete
  44. I have not seen Isom.

    ReplyDelete
  45. 2 more minutes til they switch from the massacre in Austin to the massacre in Auburn!!!

    ReplyDelete
  46. This weeks pickup looks horrible. Congrats to scottie b and THT for shining when most of us are struggling.

    ReplyDelete
  47. No reason to go to Auburn yet. We won't be kicking off for a while.

    ReplyDelete
  48. you've got to be kidding, SFC? I was just thinking how bad I must be doing this week. Of course, as bad as my short term memory is, I have no recollection of the spreads or who I picked by the time Saturday rolls around.

    YEA!!!!!!! It's Jordan-Hare in HD!!!!!

UF 31-KY 0 end of 1st qtr. UF needs to sit Tebow out.

    ReplyDelete
  50. I'm 6-5 thus far, and consider myself pretty lucky.

Took the dogs in the bottom four games on the slate, that will make or break me.

    ReplyDelete
  51. why is there a headlight on Dave Archer's head?

    ReplyDelete
  52. wow, I can't wait to hear what the attendance is tonight. It looks pretty empty, relatively speaking.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Funny, THT. I was just stated that I was surprised to see so many people there!

    ReplyDelete
  54. who is GA. playing today?

    ReplyDelete
  55. this must be a Lakers crowd coming in tonight.

    ReplyDelete
  56. AZ State kicking off tween the hedges

    ReplyDelete
  57. Don't have Fox South HD out here in Denver. :(

    Slummming it on 360 tonight.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Love me some Lakers THT!!! Husband just talking about getting some new electronic something so we can watch more games this year.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Light on Dave Archer's head - maybe he is into miners*? That would have made sense with the coal miners from WV last week.

    * note that is different than James, who is into minors.

    ReplyDelete
  60. sigh. quote from FSS analyst guy "Let's get Chizzy with it."

    ReplyDelete
  61. James needs to get in here and defend himself occasionally.

    ReplyDelete
  62. During the rain delay they are showing Chizik miked up at practice - sounds like a bad McDonald's commercial with him repeated "I love it" constantly

    ReplyDelete
  63. Defend myself like Arkansas defense?

    ReplyDelete
  64. JGT - James will probably invite you over to the new house for a Yeungling - just make sure he doesn't slip a micky in it

    ReplyDelete
  65. I have options... FS-South HD or SunSports HD... what to do, what to do?

    ReplyDelete
  66. I wonder when was the late game the Sun Debis played in the rain.

Probably would have been in Seattle, Corvallis, or Eugene.

    ReplyDelete
  67. why is the flag at half staff?

    ReplyDelete
  68. D.Miller

depends do you still get the same crappy announcers??

    ReplyDelete
  69. Kentucky has 6 total yards with 10 minutes left in the 1st half...

    ReplyDelete
  70. Don't know yet, DL... I'll check when the game starts...

    ReplyDelete
  71. don't forget AU Women's soccer at 3 EDT tomorrowon ESPNU

    ReplyDelete
  72. Does anyone know how ot stream/get the au announcers via the internet

    ReplyDelete
  73. DL - it needs to be at half-staff because the game has been delayed by 30 minutes - otherwise it would be at full staff for four hours, and someone would need to call a urologist (but thanks for noticing)

    ReplyDelete
  74. Wow, Pitt blew a 31-17 late 3rd quarter lead and lost to NCSU 38-31.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Evening Hotties!!!

    Let's kick some butt!

    ReplyDelete
  76. I should probably have been pulling for the school from my home state, but we loved our year at Pitt so much that I'm a bit disappointed they lost today :-(

    ReplyDelete
  77. Crompton throws a pick.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Ohio about to go up 14-7.

    ReplyDelete
  79. I predict 100 yard games for both Tate (Ben) and FAH, 350+ team total on ground.

    ReplyDelete
  80. Touchdown Ohio. 14-7 over UT. Still very early. I predict 40 consecutive runs and a 35-14 win for the Vols.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Hello Hots! I punked out today and decided to stay dry instead of heading to JH. But that means I get to watch the game with you good people

    ReplyDelete
  82. What's up with Ted Roof wearing a yellow jacket?

Couldn't anybody find him a navy or burnt orange one?

    ReplyDelete
  83. Looks like Ball State didn't travel very well...

    ReplyDelete
  84. Still with the kickoff coverage deficiencies? sheesh!

    ReplyDelete
  85. Hi BigCat

    LET'S GO DEFENSE!!!

    ReplyDelete
  86. 'Toro said hello to the QB right there...

    ReplyDelete
  87. Oh boy here we go!

    ReplyDelete
  88. ok lets catch the ball

    ReplyDelete
  89. I think these Tigers like starting slow!

    ReplyDelete
  90. Our special teams are going to cost us some games. This is getting ridiculous.

    ReplyDelete
  91. so much for the starters resting
