  1. I'm a fan. I don't have to be objective. I drink Auburn kool aid every game of every year.

  2. Congrats kicker dude. No stick for you.

  3. Good for you ehyou. Spread some to Sensi.

    Love for Streaky and FAH.

    Nice.

Josh Moon - I owe you another public apology. Your Sunday assessment was dead on, sir.

"Watching the Tigers walk off the Neyland Stadium field, a 26-22 win in their pockets, it didn't feel like they proved much more than that they're better than a pretty bad Tennessee team."

  5. Congrats to Wes and all, but I still want more TD's.

    ReplyDelete
  6. WHAT DO WE WANT? TD!

    WHAT'S THAT? TOUCHDOWN!

hooray for good special teams play!

  7. Carrying over from the previous thread ...

I once booed Cal Ripken Jr. at Camden Yards. Oh, yes I did. Why was I safe? I was seated in the Philly section of an interleague game. A few Baltimore fans turned to say something to me and the Philly fans quickly shouted them down.

So I get the Alabama fans a little bit.

I was at the 1999 or 2000 baseball regional at Georgia Tech. It's Auburn against ... some other team. There were 25 people in the stands. Included was one belligerent Alabama fan, cussing Auburn up and down the entire game.

    There's always one.

  8. Scottie- You hearing any whining from UT Fans?

Kristina was right, UT fans sat on their hands about the whole game. It was really quiet for the first time since i've been going there. They were expecting bad things. Glad we could deliver on expectations.

    ReplyDelete
  9. I never understood the love for Ripken. I decided to dislike him just because everyone loved him so much.

    ReplyDelete
  10. I can't believe I could have met the elusive Michael on Saturday, but true to form, he ducked.

    ReplyDelete
  11. most of the complaining is about Crompton. not really whining. i did hear a couple question Kiffin's stubbornness to give Nick Stephens a try.

    By the way, go Yankees!

    ReplyDelete
  13. I disagree with Sensi and Moon on that quote.

We went on the road in the SEC against a really good D and against a team with talent who knew it had to win that game to save it's season and we won.

We left that game knowing we could play on the road, keep our composure away from home, move the ball against a good defense and not make stupid turnovers that could have changed the momentum of the game.

However, I guess there was nothing to take away from the game.

    ReplyDelete
  14. At some point this season, Kiffen will have to pull the plug on Crompton and try to prepare for next year. When will that be...i'm not sure.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Eddie - I was 10 ft past you when I realized that it might be you. Sorry, should have yelled "Hotties HOOOOOOO!!!"

    ReplyDelete
  16. I never know there were people who existed who didn't like Cal Ripken Jr.

How can Tennessee not have a QB?

Are they getting any sniffs from major ones for next year?

    ReplyDelete
  18. Sensi, the Titans train has totally derailed. Something needs to change over there. Most notably the QB situation in a hurry. "Kerry Collins gives us the best chance to win." I loled at that one,

    ReplyDelete
  19. Spot on RK. Agree completely. That was a huge gain in confidence and that will pay big dividends down the road...maybe even this Saturday.

    ReplyDelete
  20. my favorite 2 non-AU moments in the stadium were when they played "I'm on a Boat" for about 10 seconds, and the Eric Berry rap video, and i quote "Eric Berrrryyyy......he's so scary!"

i wouldn't fell over laughing but there wasn't any room to move.

    ReplyDelete
  21. By the way, if we had scored a TD on any of those close FG's that game is a rout. It's one of those where the score was much closer than the actual game.

We ran up 487 yards on the same defense, ON THE ROAD, that went to Gainsville and put the brakes on Tebow and Co. The haters and naysayers can keep talking.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I had a very drunk UT fan talk to me at halftime for longer than I cared for, he wasn't too thrilled at all and had $200 on Auburn.

    ReplyDelete
  23. For sure Michael! If you were the Auburn Fans standing outside the deli, I do recall seeing you, just not sure which one would have been you.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I agree, the Eric Berry rap video was terrible.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I don't feel so good about the Ark. game Saturday - its got all the makings of a trap game for the Tigers. We have always had to scratch and claw our way out of there. I believe we went heavily favored the year Jones lit us up running the option - he may be still running. I got faith in the coaching staff not letting the team suffer a mental letdown this week - but I'm still concerned.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Kiffin turned away their only QB commit last year and didn't sign one in 2009. he said the committed kid didn't fit in his system and told him to go somewhere else. at this point they only have 1 QB committed and he isn't a big name or anything.

so, you'll have a Sr. in Nick Stephens competing against a true frosh next year for the starting spot.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I had UT fans emailing me up to kickoff telling me all that bad things that were going to happne...but for some reason, they don't reply to my emails right now? Go figure.

    ReplyDelete
  28. The Titans are my favorite AFC team. I like Kerry Collins. I haven't seen him make awful mistakes that cost them wins.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I've said it before, what amazed me about the Matt Jones game in 2001 at Arkansas was that we had 500 yards of offense and they had less than 300 and they blew us out.

That and Tim Carter's fumble where he was running all alone and just dropped the ball.

    ReplyDelete
  30. UT's best QB from the spring is playing here in Chattanooga at UTC.

BJ Coleman has the Mocs 3-1.

    ReplyDelete
  31. The Eric Berry rap video was everybit as lame as the shirtless poster. I would be embarrased if I was a UT fan for those two things.

Logan- Under Tubs, I agree. I like our chances with Arkansas better with Chizik. I'm not saying we will win for sure, but I like how we play.

  32. Cal Ripken Jr. was overrated.

As someone who goes to work everyday without begging out for fake "injuries" or "illnesses," I respect Cal Ripken Jr. for going to work everyday.

Still, I thought he was an overrated goob. Best SS ever? Give me a break.

I will say this: His 1990 season, from a fielding perspective, is insane and will not be topped.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Eddie - I wasn't standing in front of the deli, I was walking past it with great speed. There was me, wearing a shirt suspiciously similar to the blue polo Captain Boxhead wears, I might have been wearing sunglasses, I was 6'3'' (still am actually), and I was walking with two dudes (one of which was a UT fan) and a chick. It was nice meeting you!

    ReplyDelete
  34. I'M ON A BOAT.

A sector of the Auburn beat hacks got excited for that commercial, Scottie!

    ReplyDelete
  35. Well the UT fans at the bar we were in loved the Eric Berry song. Although at that time of night and in their condition, I think they would have loved anything.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I would not boo Cal Ripken Jr. now. I'm older and wiser. Maybe just cuss him under my breath.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Nice to have met you Michael. You look nothing like your avatar :)!!!!

    I'm on a boat....good stuff.

    ReplyDelete
  38. RK, I'm with you.

If 2004 Redux was the standard, then that's asking a lot. Yet, it wasn't that far away from happening.

What is it that you want to be impressed, Sensi? Given our defensive liabilities, I'd say we're doing quite well.

I didn't like the last TD, but anytime we win in Knoxville is impressive. Tennessee is not without talent.

    ReplyDelete
  39. if this doesn't make you spew coffee all over your monitor let me know. i'll come to your office and do it for you!!!!

    Eric Berry, HE SO SCARY!.

  48. Cal Ripken changed the shortstop position. Before him every shortstop was 5'8" and hit .240 with 2 HR's and 35 RBI and hopefully played solid D.

He opened the door for more athletic players to play the position.

Ripken was a good embassador to the game, won two MVP's, had 400 HR's and 3,000 hits and won a World Series in Baltimore.

What more could you ask for?

  56. Anonymous9:58 AM

    Kristina,

I am not and do not have family there. (My brother did graduate from USMA, but I was a Yankees fan before that.)

I took to the Yankees as a kid because I loved the history, the championships, etc. They were actually terrible when I became a fan. As they've rebuilt through the years, it's been fun to watch.

It was also a response to all of the overnight Braves fans that popped up where I lived. I just couldn't follow the crowd.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Don't really get the Eric Berry thing. I have been impressed by a few of his hits and I will say that he bounces well, but Tate made him look bad on a couple of plays.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Well since the Braves decided to go 0 for the last week of the season... Go Twins!

    ReplyDelete
  59. ...because I loved the history, the championships, etc. They were actually terrible when I became a fan. As they've rebuilt through the years, it's been fun to watch.

That sounds like it could be used to describe Bama...

    Go Sox!

    ReplyDelete
  60. I think we may be getting a bit too excited about this team. I still think we are the underdogs against Arkansas, Ole Miss, LSU, Georgia, and Alabama. We will likely win 1 or 2 of those. Anything else is gravy. As for the rest of the games, we should win them.

    ReplyDelete
  61. I became a Braves fan in '87 when I moved to GA. Hopefully the bandwagon jumpers are back off. I love the Braves.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Steve- I think we are already a 1-2 point fave vs Arkansas

    ReplyDelete
  63. Anonymous10:04 AM

Yeah, but the Yankees championships actually exist unlike most of Alabama's.

How did you get to be a Sox fan?

    ReplyDelete
  64. Swiper, no swiping. Morning hauteies.

    ReplyDelete
  65. In baseball I hate two teams...the Red Sox and the Cubs.

For all my life the media has tried to convince me because these two teams went forever without a championship that if they ever got close enough to sniff the playoffs that the whole world should stop and root for the loveable losers.

I never bought into that and I hate that the Red Sox purchased and juiced their way up to two championships, but I still have the Cubs who will never win one.

    ReplyDelete
  66. the way some of you feel about basketball is how I feel about baseball. For you Braves fans, you don't have to wait too long for the next disappointing season

    ReplyDelete
  67. Baseball.....is that still going on?????

    ReplyDelete
  68. My dad was born and raised in Boston so I was born and raised to love the Sox and hate the Yankees.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Wow, leave it to baseball to kill the thread....

    ReplyDelete
  72. Anonymous10:14 AM

I hate all pro sports. I quit baseball around '97 or '98 during the strike. Those spoiled, juiced brats get paid way too much and there is no loyalty.

In sports I want a one way street from the players....loyalty to the team/fans. Return loyalty from the fans/team must be earned over time.

    ReplyDelete
  73. The strike was 1994.

    ReplyDelete

If Crompton could have hit his open receivers in the first 3 qtrs, UT would have scored more. Kiffen needs to notice that Crompton is much more comfortable in the shotgun that trying to do playaction. Of course, our porous nickel package help Crompton.

AU will win over KY and Furman.
AU will most likely win over Ark.
AU may win one against OlMiss, LSU or UGA.

Now in August how would you have felt about that kind of season? I'd love it.

    ReplyDelete
  76. 1941 is the only Bama championship which isn't legit, IMO. However we got ripped off in 1966 & 1977 so it evens out.

    ReplyDelete
  77. If our D caught half of the balls they had their hands on it's also a different game.

I got the impression that Crompton just doesn't throw a catchable ball as we also had several drops of his passes.

    ReplyDelete
  78. JGT,
I think a Dora reference is exactly what this guy was going for. That video was probably the most annoying thing I've ever seen, although it did make Ben Tate running him over even more entertaining.

    ReplyDelete
  79. LOL at RK, but he has a point.

    ReplyDelete
  80. I like watching all pro sports. I don't really care what their salary is.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Yes, it was awkwardly worded.

    ReplyDelete
  82. I said during the game that he was throwing so bad we can't even intercept it.

My other thought: I do hope the team is reading the blog comments these days. It should really get them fired up. Folks around here ahve turned into the biggest bunch of poor mouthers I've heard in a while. Barring injury, we have the ability to beat anybody we play, including Bama.

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  92. Sensi: I've watched every play of every game that every SEC team has played. LSU - not that good. UGA - really not that good. Ole Miss - Snead is a threat to choke and likes to throw to the other team. Nutt is self explanatory and a life long choker. Arky - just depends on who shows up. Passing D is bad. Our passing O is good. Bama - pretty damn good. But we've beaten pretty damn good Bama teams before.

    ReplyDelete
  93. From the last thread, Eddie, based on your description, I can't imagine that it's any less than a Tie with UF. There are three or four assigned seats there for every 2 actual seats. I hate that place with every bone in my body.

    ReplyDelete
  94. Anonymous10:46 AM

Fair enough. You are entitled to your interpretation.

    ReplyDelete
  95. josh Moon, you're a bammer witch. run before we burn you.

    ReplyDelete
  97. Anonymous10:48 AM

Phread is right about Nutt but has he already had his choke game against SC?

    ReplyDelete
  98. Peter- I agree in principle with the UF comparison, but at least you could walk to the end of the row in relative comfort. I would have hated to be holding two drinks and a hot dog walking to my seats last Saturday. It is big tent worthy achievement if you made it all the way without spillage.

    ReplyDelete
  99. Sensi ...

I just erased what I was going to post. It was tacky. Not toward you, though. Mama didn't like it when I was tacky.

If we're at the point where an underdog Auburn team wins at Tennessee, and it's not impressive, then I guess I ought to be happy. We have arrived.

My sense is that Josh doesn't want Chizik to succeed because it will give him an "I told you so" moment. So any success we have that isn't sheer perfection will not be good enough for him.

There will be others with the same attitude. I reject it.

We may end up with 7 wins, or 8 or 9 or more. I don't know. But I know through five games, I'm extremely impressed. If anyone is not, then I suggest they switch from unine to milk in their morning Cheerios. It tastes a lot better.

Dang, I was tacky after all.

    ReplyDelete
  100. Are we comparing UT seating to Florida? I say UT's is tighter. I have never been to a stadium like that one; it is ridiculous. When I went to Florida, we actually fit 3 people into two spots.

And like Eddie said, even the actual rows are thin. I have been there 5 times now, and most every time I can't put my knees in front of me because someone's back is in the way.

    ReplyDelete
  101. Anonymous11:01 AM

My thoughts have nothing to do with a need for "I told you so." I'll leave that to those who seek it.

    ReplyDelete
  102. I don't understand why everyone isn't excited about the win. It was obvious to me Auburn was much better than UT. It was at Neyland, we had to settle for FGs too often, and they didn't start really cooking until we started playing the clock game on defense and just made sure we didn't give up big plays. I think if we play Tenn 10 times, we beat them my 3 scores more often than they beat us straight up. How is that not encouraging?

    ReplyDelete
  103. Josh Moon isn't wrong in the sense that he's a bammer witch, just like Sensi, and should be burned.

By the way, it's funny to say, I'm drinking the kool-aid. It's not funny to taunt another Auburn fan who has a pretty decent analysis by saying "How's the Kool-Aid."

    ReplyDelete
  104. Nothing I saw at UT changed what I already thought: the SEC teams other than bama on our schedule aren't as good as advertised, and I think we only drop 1 in the Ole Miss-LSU-Georgia gauntlet. On paper, we have no chance against bama. Well, I'll tell ya where to go wipe that paper.

    ReplyDelete
  105. Much like it's not funny to call another Auburn fan a bammer.

    ReplyDelete
  106. But what if all you idiots are a bunch of bammers, PF?

    ReplyDelete
  107. Well, that's truth, Michael. There's not punchline needed for true comments.

    ReplyDelete
  108. Anonymous11:10 AM

    I wasn't taunting Phred.

    Don't take sports so seriously.

    ReplyDelete
  109. Anonymous11:10 AM

That being said, how many of you will call in to cuss me out tomorrow?

    I take all comers.

    ReplyDelete
  110. Sensi ...

My comments were geared towards Josh's thoughts.

I've seen too many good Auburn teams go to Knoxville and not win -- against Tennessee teams of all stripes (good, bad, indifferent).

Winning in Knoxville is a good thing ... a very good thing.

    ReplyDelete
  111. yeah, i never felt like the game was in doubt. just seemed like we missed opportunities to put more points on the board. a holding call stalled our first drive on Mario's long play. Walt dropped an INT. Todd's pitch behind Onterrio put the FG attempt long that Byrum missed. a couple more plays on O and it's a 4 score game in the 4th.

    ReplyDelete
  112. Mike,

As a fellow tall guy, I'll take your analysis of the seating as pretty close to what mine would be. I can't imagine it being worse. I've always thought that no idiot would design seating worse than at UF. Apparently someone did. Yikes.

  114. I take you seriously, sensi, cause you're the voice of reason, and the big sound on the radioesque thing coming from the internets.

Sports, they only determine what I'm going to wear today and who I'm going to talk to. Not important stuff.

  117. Sensi ...

    STJ 15, Holtville 14

We were dominated the whole game.

We managed to block a punt for a TD.

We had one significant drive ... and led to a score with 7 minutes to go, ran the old swinging gate formation, snapped it to the kicker and he ran it in.

Holtville dropped a sure 80 yard TD on its last possession.

Fifth win in a row. The last four in the fourth quarter by a total of 9 points.

    ReplyDelete
  118. A win at knowkneeroom stadium is always good. I wish we had not decided to go into that soft pass defense in the fourth quarter.
The coaches do what they think is best, but that type defense against a good passer will get you slaughtered. I am sure the coaches know that and will do something different this week. Arkansas always scares me but I think we can beat them. War Eagle

    ReplyDelete
  119. The lows this weekend in fayeteville right at 40 degrees. Gonna be a chilly weekend for good ole Harrison

    ReplyDelete
  120. Harrison that could affect both teams in a negative way. Niether QB accustom to cold fingers on a cold ball.

    ReplyDelete
  121. Harrison- I just hope it is dry for you. I'll be sitting this one out. Arkansas is just too damn far to drive.

    ReplyDelete
  122. Weather.com says "Few Showers" on Saturday in Fayettville -- 30 percent chance of rain. That probably means deluge.

High of 58, lows in the mid-40s.

Hopefully Friday's weather won't affect flights.

    ReplyDelete
  123. yup, i declare Harrison the official "Hottie Tailgate Director" for the Arkansas trip!

    ReplyDelete
  124. The game starts at 11:00 so we should not see the low temperture, hopefully we won't see the rain either. Could just be good football weather.

    ReplyDelete
  125. Put me squarely in the Sensi/Jet/Hoopie camp. I'm not the least bit convinced that anyone other than Furman and possibly UK can be counted in the "W" column with any degree of certainty.

That said, after two-a-days were over I was expecting us to go 5-7 or worse. I kept thinking that right up until the last minute of the 2nd quarter against LA Tech. My outlook brightened considerably after those three plays.

We still have a LONG way to go to compete with the three best teams in the league (UF, Bama and LSU). Beating the two that are on our '09 schedule would be nothing short of miraculous at this point. We will also have to overcome a serious talent/depth deficit against UGa and Ole Nutt to beat them, and Arky will be a challenge.

However, I can truly say that I'm enjoying this season more than any in many, many years, outside of '04.

    What do you think, Michael?

    ReplyDelete
  126. I love the Swinging Gate.

    ReplyDelete
  127. Eddie- we're taking one of them fancy aeroplanes, unless Michael build me another helicopter that actually flies this time.

  128. Morning folks,

We had some interesting discussion around the watercooler this morning. If you had to rank the SEC teams by the way they have played this season on top to bottom how would you rank them?

    1) Florida 4-0
    2) UAT 5-0
    3) Auburn 5-0
    4) LSU 5-0
    5) Georgia 3-2
    6) South Carolina 4-1
    7) Ole Miss 3-1
    8) Arkansas 2-2
    9) Miss St 2-3
    10) Tennessee 2-3
    11) Kentucky 2-2
    12) Vandy 2-3

  129. I still like Doug of Cleveland, AP voter's picks and I bet the maize sniffer just loves it.

    Alabama 1
    Boise St. 2
    Florida 3
    Cincinnati 4
    LSU 5
    Texas 6
    Auburn 7
    Virginia Tech 8
    Miami 9
    Iowa 10
    Southern Cal 11
    Oregon 12
    Ohio St. 13
    TCU 14
    Georgia Tech 15
    South Florida 16
    BYU 17
    Wisconsin 18
    Missouri 19
    Kansas 20
    Stanford 21
    Penn St. 22
    Boston College 23
    Houston 24
    Oklahoma St. 25

  130. Sorry JD I was typing at the same time you were. That looks about right for the SEC.

    ReplyDelete
  131. SEC:
    1. Bama
    2. Auburn
    3. Florida
    4. LSU
    5. USC
    6. UGA
    7, Ole Miss
    8. Arkansas
    9. Miss State
    10. Tenn
    11. UK
    12. Vandy

FLorida just hasn't really proved much, they've played two nobodys and two of the lower three in the SEC, I'll be happy to knock them above alabama and auburn if they beat LSU this weekend

    ReplyDelete
  132. Don't understand all the love for BYU. They beat an Oklahoma team that is overrated with or without Bradford. And the allowed almost 50 offensive points to an FSU team that barely scored that many in their other 4 games combined.

    Michael, your opinion?

    ReplyDelete
  133. At this point in the season JD, I would swap LSU to 3 & AU 4 with S. Carolina nipping at the Tiger's heals at 5. I would put GA @ 7 - they have issues at QB - not TN issues - but issues nonetheless.

    ReplyDelete
  134. Freep - I think we probably view Auburn the same way. We are a pretty good team. I think we differ in how we view LSU. Definitely not in Alabama's class (I don't know what to think about Florida at the moment. Probably not in there class either).

The thing about LSU and Georgia that is scary is that you know the talent is there. They very well may get it together before Auburn plays them.

So if I sound optimistic, it is as because LSU, Ole Miss, and Georgia have all been pretty big disappointments thus far into the season. I think we are on of the top 20 best teams in the country right now. But its a long season.

    ReplyDelete
  135. Michael,

I'd like to say "Amen" to your thoughts. I think that sums it up nicely.

    ReplyDelete
  136. The only reason that I give UGA the love is that they beat USC pretty convincing earlier in the season. They scored with ease on a defense that is very good. I think that USC will be hampered down the road by Garcia. They have a good defense though, no doubt. I think they give UAT a run for their money in a couple of weeks.

    ReplyDelete
  137. dangit, freep is just trying to get a golden corral dinner out of this!

Anyway, the BYU-Florida St-Oklahoma-Miami incestuous chain of matchups means I think all of them are run of the mill. They are a self contained league of overhypedness... much like I said before Miami got toasted by Va Tech. See, I'm a genius.

    ReplyDelete
  138. didn't USC have a chance at the end of that game to win it. I don't think UGA beat them convincingly

    ReplyDelete
  139. UGA beat SC by 4 earlier, 41-37 this year. Not sure if that's convincingly.

    ReplyDelete
  140. Busted!

That's 12 by my count - only 118 to go! I figure if we can get it to the 50-60 range before Puppet Hour, we'll be home free!

I can almost taste that 9-oz chopped sirloin smothered in Heinz 57 now. . .

Good points, BTW, Michael. Keep 'em coming!

    ReplyDelete
  141. Not for all eyes, but some funny, funny stuff on Bowden and the drunken LSU fan's arrest (sorry for the redundancy).

  142. They convinced the scorekeeper they won. Thus, they won convincingly to the one person that mattered.

    ReplyDelete
  143. Based on performace so far

    1. Bama
    2. Auburn
    3. Florida
    4* LSU
    4* UGA
    4* USC
    7. Tennessee
    8. Miss State
    9. Ole Miss
    10. Arkansas
    11. UK
    12. Vandy

*I had problem with #4. Head-to-head, LSU beat UGA and UGA beat USC. I don't think LSU has given anything spectacular this year, though, and both UGA (great offense against USC and Arky....decent D against OkState and LSU) and USC (pretty good defense against Ole Miss, good Offense against UGA) have shown brighter signs without putting together complete games. To say LSU is better because of two plays after 57 minutes of not so good football wouldn't be right. This could change down the line, but so far, I don't think they've shown enough (besides a record) to warrant praise over the other two.

The rest was difficult. TN has a good running game and a decent D. Arkansas has shown a very good offense at times. Miss State has somehow hung in games (heart factor??), and should've beat LSU if not for a bonehead playcaller. Ole Miss has shown about as much on the field as Florida: big games against terrible opposition. And then UK and Vandy, well, they're there.

Chopped sirloin is always best enjoyed in vat of Heinz 57.

  148. I know I was as annoyed about Chizik's hiring as the next guy. Just curious though, where is that airport heckler now?

    ReplyDelete
  149. He's at a desk in Auburn doing some real work, and still complaining.

    ReplyDelete
  150. PF - you may have posted this Friday afternoon or over the weekend; so I apologize if you have to repeat it, but, what was the response to your email Friday afternoon?

    ReplyDelete
  151. That guy was actually Chizik's brother. The Chiziks are really tough on their own.

    ReplyDelete
  152. Phred shoots and scores!

  154. jet,

K is right on. I mentioned that Saturday. ND refs. Booooo.

N is for NogginThis is your reminder that Tim Tebow still has a concussion, and would be forbidden from fighting for another three weeks minimum if he were an MMA fighter.
Ahhh, rentadoc will clear him, though, and all will be right in this world. Whowouldathunk that MMA is safer than boxing and football. Watch some of those early UFC's and tell me they haven't come a long way in making it a legit sport.

    ReplyDelete
  155. I'm thinking Auburn 36-30 over the Sows.

    ReplyDelete
  156. That airport heckler proved himself an embarrassment to Auburn. Hopefully he is now an LSU or Bama fan.

    ReplyDelete
  157. Peter,

State regulations and great marketing have made UFC a legit sport.

    ReplyDelete
  158. martini, I've got a larger spread in mind...I know we all see games different, but I was MUCH more worried about winning in Knoxville than in Fayetteville.

    I like AU 37-23

    ReplyDelete
  159. Iowa State lost to Kansas State due to a blocked extra point. Bummer for Rhoads, but they do seem to be a bit improved this season.

    ReplyDelete
  160. I'd forgotten Jarrett Brown(WVU QB) was once at LSU. Did someone mention that when we played themz?

    ReplyDelete
  161. thanks scott, coming down for that one?

    ReplyDelete
  162. I friggin HATE 'xos technologies'.

These guys are yanking off Auburn videos from youtube, so much so that they are threatening lawsuits against some of the folks that upload youtube videos.

    ReplyDelete
  163. Anonymous1:07 PM

Well, youtube is a haven of mass copyright violations.

    ReplyDelete
  164. This has nothing to do with Auburn, which may explain why I like it more.

    FSU airing dirty laundry

    ReplyDelete
  165. I think Alabama is the best SEC team right now. I expect them to do dirty things to Ole Miss this weekend.

    ReplyDelete
  166. You know the Bowden thing at FSU is going to end badly.

Bowden's leaving schools never end on a good note.

    ReplyDelete
  169. FAH got a little chip on his shoulder, huh?

    ReplyDelete
  170. I still say Ole Miss keeps it close this weekend if Snead protects the football. Bama still wins, but it's a decent game.

    ReplyDelete
  171. The Bowdens must live in their own little world. Bobby has been embarrassing himself for at least 5 years, and the family defends him and attacks FSU supporters for stating the obvious.

    Bobby Bowden = Al Davis

    ReplyDelete
  172. I'm a little out of the loop, I know FAH refers to McCalebb, but what exactly does it mean?

    ReplyDelete
  173. McCalebb isn't averaging 100 per game.

    He dropped a sure TD!

    I'm a hater!

    Now do something OMac!

    ReplyDelete
  174. FAH = Fast As Hell which is how Sportswriter Tate answered a question about how McCalleb fit into the program. i.e. "He's fast as hell, that's how he fits in."

  182. I'm gonna say this van had at least one Bammer sticker on it...

    From the Huntsville Times:

ALBERTVILLE, AL - A Marshall County woman is in the city jail here for having her 13-year-old daughter ride in a cardboard box atop her van.

Albertville Police spokesman Sgt. Jamie Smith said Jackie Denise Knott, 37, of Albertville was charged with endangering the welfare of a child. Smith said the child was turned over to a relative.

Smith said police received a call Sunday morning of a minivan traveling on U.S. 431 with a large cardboard box on top with a child inside.

Officers stopped the van on U.S. 431 and asked Knott why the child was riding atop her vehicle.

"The box was too big to go inside the van, and she would be able to hold it down if she was inside the box," Smith said the woman told police.

When asked about the child's safety, Smith said Knott told the officers that she had the box secured to the van with a clothes hanger.

  193. A very good friend of mine (Jet knows him too) when he was much younger was the "counterweight" to a mattress as someone was moving once. Long story short, the mattress caught some air and my buddy rode that mattress off the back of the truck just like a magic carpet until it skidded to a stop along the road.
