So it goes.
UPDATES
- As best I can tell, LB Eltoro Freeman is not here. I don't think he's in trouble. I don't think he's been disciplined. I think he's out on his own accord. I don't know that for a fact. We'll find out more later today.
- G Byron Isom is dressed out.
- Auburn warms up in two groups: offense and defense. There were 26 players on the defensive side. That would not count as an excess.
- Arkansas' top WR, Joe Adams, is not dressed out. He apparently was injured in practice Thursday.
I'm nervous.
ReplyDeleteWe can not afford to lose linebackers. This team will test our defense for 60 minutes.
ReplyDeleteThis is one game the LB depth won't matter. We will be in Nickel a lot.
ReplyDeleteI hope you are right Eddie. I hope we rush that QB all morning too.
ReplyDeleteWhy will Eltoro take himself out of the game?
ReplyDeleteWill Arkansas nickel and dime our defense into oblivion?
ReplyDeleteKathy- That is the story right now. I'm not sure what is going on, but there is something up with that.
ReplyDeleteSensi- If they had a running game, yes, but they don't.
ReplyDeleteFSU naming Jimbo Fisher CIW has turned into a major problem on that staff.
ReplyDeleteLee Corso is all over that and is right.
I'm nervous too... but I belive that's because I remember how well Auburn played in early games and/or against Arkansas under CTT and company...
ReplyDeleteNew staff hopefully equates into better preperation and better results!
Look, I was never a huge Corso fan, but he is gameday and it is sad to see him like this. He is trying hard, but struggling badly.
ReplyDeleteNo, the problem at FSU is that Bowden didn't retire when he should have. Sorry, but his career will be tarnished by how it finished IMO.
ReplyDeleteGood point, Eddie.
ReplyDeleteWho had pig for breakfast?
I enjoyed a smoked sausage biscuit.
I think AU will be able to control the game with the run. give the D some rest and be better than they were in the UT game.
ReplyDeleteI'm eating some pig right now Mr. S... going to be grilling some up too a little later today!
ReplyDeleteAU 41
ReplyDeleteHogs 31
Morning Hotties - I'm getting my bacon on now. War Eagle!

ReplyDeleteOh.. Corso's making me sad. You're right- he's Gameday. Sad.
ReplyDeleteOn another note- I'm nervous too Kathy. My laundry's got to get done in a hurry. My lucky AU shirt's in there and I've worn it every game!
Smoking some sausage myself today.
ReplyDeleteRibs for the later games.
McShay breaking down Snead.
ReplyDeleteSays O-Line is the biggest problem.
ReplyDeleteArky has running backs...
ReplyDeleteMaybe Eltoro is second guessing his transfer...
Rumor is The Bull had a heated confrontation at practice. I'm sure he's struggling with the lofty expectations and little playing time. I hope it's something we can look back on in a year and chalk up to a valuable learning experience. You can't let your talent override the discipline you must have to scheme on the college level.

ReplyDeleteThis is the least electric SEC pre-game situation I've seen ... aside from Vanderbilt.
ReplyDeleteHotties' Picks for Michigan @ Iowa:
ReplyDeleteThe Maize and Blue or the Maize?
Vandy folks were in the library and the labs.
ReplyDeleteWhat's Arkansas' excuse?
Least electric is good for Auburn I suppose.
ReplyDeleteFaccia quale che facciamo!
ReplyDelete'ight hotties, i'm off for a much need jog.
WAR EAGLE!!!!
JGT - Why do you think that is? I hope in translates into the Hogs coming in flat.
ReplyDeleteSensi.... I was all set to pick Michigan... until I heard that their starting RB (brown) didn't travel, and that it was snowing in Iowa. MI QB Forcier is from Cali... his first snow game won't be pretty without a running game. Gimme Iowa.
ReplyDeleteSensi..
ReplyDeleteFor some reason I think Michigan wins.
Hogs are getting marinated.... almost time to put them in the smoker!
ReplyDeleteoh sheesh...
ReplyDeleteESPN is working to create more controversy about Chizik vs. Gill. They just showed the "Boo!" video in a teaser "Controversy at Auburn?" again.
ReplyDeleteWhy is this story coming back around? I have seen it on Outside The Lines this week and now it is going to show on Gameday?
ReplyDeleteI guess we need to celebrate the 1 year anniversary?
Man that clip they just played going to a commercial was awful. Wonder if that guy goes to any games?
ReplyDeleteAnd did anybody ever figure out who that one person is that evidently has represented the entire University?
ReplyDeleteIf they want to "celebrate an anniversary," why not the Franklin firing?
ReplyDeleteOne hour to kick off!!
ReplyDeletethis is way too early for a football game!!
Hope the Tigers are wide awake.
Any word on whether or not we are the Pam Ward game?
ReplyDeleteTHT 2.0...
ReplyDeleteti attualmente vive in Italia?
TV sports media love controversy any kind and will play to it at every turn.
ReplyDeleteSensi - now that makes sense. Because on the ESPN crawl they showed that AU has 207 total points this year 1 point less then all of last yr. There is a story, the success of Malzhan
ReplyDeletedigger - who works with Spielman, that is who it is. Is that Ward?
ReplyDeleteESPN sounds like they are calling for a national moment of silence for Tebow.
ReplyDeleteGood grief.
Its crazy Sensi.
ReplyDeleteNot sure about the TV teams but it could be.
ReplyDeleteit's Howdy Doody time errr Tim Tebow time
ReplyDeleteWhat are you dining upon today, FSJ?
ReplyDeleteI still say Bama blows OM away today.
I forgot Pam Ward is from Baltimore and went to MD.
ReplyDeleteActually DC and worked in Bmore. Your who cares fact for the day.
ReplyDelete50 minutes to kickoff.
ReplyDeleteSensi...
ReplyDeleteWe are looking at some ribs today.......
Ought to be tasty.
Quentin Groves is ready for BBQ!
ReplyDeleteI am ready for BBQ!
Enjoy 'em, FSJ.
ReplyDeleteQ may be getting ready for his team to relocate or draft Tim Tebow.
ReplyDeleteIs the crowd getting any better?
ReplyDeleteLove that pic at the top of the post.
ReplyDeleteWhat, are tickets first come, first served, and they fill in only one section at a time?
Alrigt Hots, on your feet for Bodda Getta!!
ReplyDeleteQuentinGroves54 ...its time to bar b que some hogs!!!! WDE
ReplyDeleteTHANK YOU CHRIS FOWLER!!!
ReplyDeleteI suppose that video will always accompany any discussion of Chizik at Auburn.
ReplyDeleteMy name is Jason Fowler and that is my smart cousin!!
ReplyDeleteI hate that they take anything from the Paul Bammerbaum show
ReplyDeleteIsom is in uniform and warming up.
ReplyDeleteYou folks forget, our struggles against Arky in the morning games were most noticable when we were at home.
ReplyDeleteI subscribe the 'early kickoff hurts the home team' meme. Let's hope the trend holds up today.
Good news JGT
ReplyDeleteI actually saw Paul Finebaum defend Auburn on Outside the Lines. I was SHOCKED!
ReplyDeleteI like the all white unis.
ReplyDeleteJust saying.
It looks chilly in Fayetnam
ReplyDeleteEltoro is watching the game with me today. He is cooking the chicken wings. I will be sure to ask him if and when he will be back. It is kind of awkward to try to fit that question into conversation. We will see how it goes.
ReplyDeleteGood deal for Isom. Take it like a man and handle your business. Hats too to John Sullen and Bart Eddins.
ReplyDeleteYES CORSO PICKED THEM
ReplyDeleteHas corso had another stroke? He is really struggling this morning...
ReplyDeleteLee Corso picks Arky. Off to a good start!
ReplyDeleteI am nervous about this game but I'll be nervous against KY next week too even if we win.
ReplyDeleteHope the Corso curse works it's magic.
ReplyDeleteMichael - Once you have cans of courage I think the question will just flow naturally.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of cans of golden nectar I bought some extra, going to be a long day of football
ReplyDeleteAuburn warms up in two groups: Offense and defense.
ReplyDeleteThere are 26 guys on the defensive side. How about that?
How about that ...one word SCARY
ReplyDeleteMichael, get you a smoker and smoke your wings, good stuff!! Maybe we'll have a cooking extravaganza at the IB ?
ReplyDeleteI don't have any cans of courage. If I have to wait on that, then I guess I won't get any info out of eltoro.
ReplyDeleteHow may dudes are on the travel squad total, Jay?
Yikes, I don't think 26 defensive players is enough for a game like this one.
ReplyDeleteEpisode II of "Is Sensi Crazy?" should be even better than episode I. I can't wait.
ReplyDeletebinoba, I don't do the wings, eltoro does. Hopefully he is back on the field by the Iron Bowl. We will see.
ReplyDeleteTwenty six guys on defense doesn't sound great, but it could be that Todd intends to amaze us all and play iron man football.
ReplyDeletethin
ReplyDeleteI hope it is, SteveFC. I really do.
I like being wrong when I pick against the grain.
Arkansas' top WR, Joe Adams, is not dressed out. He apparently was injured in practice Thursday.
ReplyDeleteMan, I love that big jumbotron thingie at Arkansas. Man, now I know I should be a college coach. Can you imagine grabbing some beer and popcorn and heading over to the stadium and cranking up the jumbotron to watch MNF or a movie?
ReplyDeleteI hate to say it but this issue with The Bull doesn't come as much as a surprise. For whatever reason the guys that come in from these prep schools and JC's never seem to be able to stay on the field. In all reality if these guys aren't graduating or qualifying out of high school the chances they can make it through college aren't very good. I would find it hard to believe El Toro is just not a morning person and pulled himself out of a game on his own if there isn't something else going on. Regardless, I want to see this guy back on the field living up to all that hype.
ReplyDeleteThat's a big loss for the Hogs.
ReplyDeleteChris Todd came from a JC.
ReplyDeleteCarlos Rogers came from a prep school.
Just sayin'.
Jay, while you are already out in Arkansas, you might want to swing through Iowa on your way back and visit some friends, especially if Michigan does well today.
ReplyDeleteWhere did we get FAH from?
ReplyDeletePrep school Schmep school
ReplyDeleteIf you are mature and work you can play. Period.
Weis.. Kiss my Arse you fat slob.
ReplyDeleteWasn't Fairley a JUCO too?
ReplyDeletedigger a bit sensitive today?
ReplyDeleteIf you quaterback for Notre Dame and win 3 games you are the greatess thing since peanutbutter and jam samiches. BS
ReplyDeletePersonally I like JUCOs. You don't want a lot of them, but they are good for filling immediate needs.
ReplyDeleteFC not really just have a belly full of ND and Weis
ReplyDeleteSteve,
ReplyDeleteThat's a good point. I don't see us going after a bunch of those though. Chizik's plan seems to be long term - get recruits, redshirt, build depth.
Coach Chizik said that Isom will play today on the Auburn radio pregame show.
ReplyDeleteThe only thing I see in Arkansas' favor is they need this game a lot more than we do. With their schedule, their season could soon go up in flames.
ReplyDelete"That would not count as an excess."
ReplyDeleteI LOL'd at that.
Good plan by Chizik. I just hope auburn pulls out some serious $$$ for Malzahn and not lose him next couple of years.
ReplyDeleteCoach Chizik said that Isom did everything they asked him to do and is ready to play.
ReplyDeleteI predict a lot of pain for Arkansas receivers. Bates and Etheridge will bring the pain.
ReplyDeleteCoach Chizik was not asked about the bull's status.
ReplyDeleteGreat news IV this should help us.
ReplyDeleteI liked the way Eddins played against UT, but this will be a different type of game. Good to see Isom back.
ReplyDeletePlayers from all backgrounds both succeed and fail. It's about the person, not where they come from.
ReplyDeleteI am ready for some hog fixed anyway the Auburn Tigers decide to prepare it.
ReplyDeleteWOW Eltoro not there. I heard from a bammer during the week that he was having trouble with the staff and was considering leaving the team, I hope there is 0 truth in that
ReplyDeleteI skipped the bloody mary's this AM and went strait to the salty dogs. Woooohooooo!!!!
ReplyDeleteehyou,
ReplyDeleteI agree with you on the character issue.
jhag, it really depends upon what is going on. If a player is discontent he either needs to get over it or hit the road.
ReplyDeleteSalty Dogs go good with Bar B Q Pork
ReplyDeleteSteve,
ReplyDeleteI agree with you also.
Rod uses tons of western movie references today.
ReplyDeletemornin' JGT. let's go.
ReplyDeleteDWWD!!!!!!!!!!!
I have a problem with "stars" that don't walk the walk. If you aren't playing well, you shut your mouth and open your ears.
ReplyDelete15 minutes to kickoff.
ReplyDeleteStadium is maybe 60% full.
I'm probably a little less optimistic than you guys about these players making it through college. If you cannot qualify out of high school you are going to have a difficult time in college. If they weren't playing football they wouldn't be at the university anyway. There is obviously going to be a higher attrition rate from those who couldn't qualify in the first place. I'm sure there are plenty more, but since the time I've been a student here Raven Gray, Bo Harris, Greg Smith, and Chris Slaughter all come to mind. I haven't done much research, but I'm sure theres more.
ReplyDeleteDrew Brees picks coming up next.
ReplyDeleteLee Corso needs to hang up the mic....College Gameday is awful
ReplyDeleteDang where are the hogs?
ReplyDeleteHave the Hog fans given up on the team already??
ReplyDeleteMany kids that go the JUCO route just need some growing up time. It doesn't take a genius to graduate high school with poor study habits. When you go to college, it is a different matter and self discipline comes into play. I should know. I really screwed up my first year of college. Of course, I had a great time, so I guess it is a matter of what goals you are attempting to achieve.
ReplyDeleteDidn't Corso have a stroke? The guy needs some time off.
ReplyDeleteIV out until halftime. Go TIGERS, beat the hogs. WAR EAGLE!!!
ReplyDeleteThat's why I like early road games. The home crowd just ain't as into it.
ReplyDeleteLets go Auburn!!!!!!!WDE
ReplyDeleteNothing inspires a home team more than to see half the stadium empty in one of their more important games.
ReplyDeleteCan we get rid of these clowns and get on with the game.
ReplyDeleteCorso does seem a bit understated today. Perhaps he needs a trip to the rest room and doesn't want to risk an embarrassing accident.
ReplyDeleteDrew Brees is the truth.
ReplyDeleteAU- 37
ReplyDeleteArky- 33
McFadden and Thorpe= good pass coverage
Everyone else= questionable pass coverage
Fear Toddzilla(shout-out to SFC)
I'm at the beach. Is there a way to listen to the game online? I would like to listen to the Auburn broadcast while I watch.
ReplyDeleteWonder if Kirk will make it to the Iowa game with the snow going on?
ReplyDeleteAuburn Football Radio Streams
ReplyDeleteLet's go Auburn. War Eagle!!!
ReplyDeleteSounds like The Bull gets too high and too low.
ReplyDeleteGo even Steven there pal!!!
yeah Corso had a stroke, aka....'a sign to spend time with your family'...but he is taking the Dick Clark approach
ReplyDeleteHere are some online radio stations.
ReplyDeleteLooking at Jays picture more closely I'm amused by those high school bleachers that are sitting on top of that nice end zone area.
ReplyDeleteI like Thorpe in coverage too. Etheridage and Bates need to reach out and hit someone.
ReplyDeleteYes, we avoid the Corse Curse!!!
ReplyDeleteBrees picks Auburn
ReplyDeleteCorso picks Arkansas
Herbie picks Auburn
Fowler picks Auburn
Thanks Sensi
ReplyDeletehogs' leading receiver not playing, joe adams, 2nd in sec in receiving, big loss.
ReplyDeleteGame thread is UPZ.
ReplyDeleteWe need to see Mallett scrambling. This won't be like the WV game. Make that kid scramble.
ReplyDeleteIs this 2008? We have the 5 wins, are we going to start a run for 7 loses?
ReplyDelete
