Radio Appearance Forthcoming

Hey everyone. I will be doing my weekly segment on SuperSport 930 out of Jackson, Miss., in a bit. That extravaganza will begin around 9:05 a.m. CDT.

We'll be talkin' Auburn and other stuff. You know how it goes.

Please enjoy.

UPDATE: I will only be doing one segment this morning because I'm doing stuff at my daughter's school. So it goes.

  14. Michael,

One of the points on your live blog yesterday was denied on the radio....the confirmed. then denied again. With this kind of Brett Favreian waffling, does your reliability depend on the second we happen to tune in.

    ReplyDelete
  15. 3 cheers for multiple hate segments. PF with the early shout-out. naked Chiz? really? nice.

    ReplyDelete

  22. I stand by all the points made during my live blog of the live blog. Any slight inaccuracies that my updates may have gained during the time it took me to click away from Jay's live blog and post in the comments section are almost certainly inconsequential.

  23. I'm glad to hear the naked Chiz info is making its rounds.

  33. Anti-chemistry. I like that idea.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Teabaging at the World of Warcraft tailgates sounds like I imagine a ComiCon convention. Tons of sexual frustration built up, opportunity for it to be relieved, and complete ineptitude when it comes to execution.

    ReplyDelete
  35. T-Bag was a great character on Fox's 'Prison Break'. i loved that show.

    ReplyDelete
  36. We've got conflicts now. Was it arrested development or prison break? Similar but very different show.

  59. Plantar fasciitis, the economy, the clock (not moving fast enough, hunger (mine, not the world variety), and to top it all off, I don't get ESPNU

    ReplyDelete
  60. I feel you on the clock and the economy. As for ESPNU, I don't get it either, but I'll be meeting up with my local Auburn club to watch the game tomorrow. So it goes.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Sensi..

    I'll take em..

    Just kidding.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Let's see if I can get this thing going again.

The possibility of Alabama and Florida playing twice this year: ridiculous? I think it is. Any thoughts?

    ReplyDelete
  63. E-Bro,

It all depends. Will Texas also be undefeated at the end of the year, then no.

If Boise is # 3 when Florida and Alabama play for the SEC title, then yes.

    ReplyDelete
  64. I agree E-Bro..

The only way I could see that it would happen would be for Texas to lose this weekend and Va Tech to be #3..

And then maybe a close UF loss (3 or less) to Bama would be the only way I could see it.

With that said, there is alot of football left so it's a bit premature...but interesting.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Agree with that too RK

    ReplyDelete
  66. With that thought if they are 1&2 going into the SECCG, the losing team will drop below 2 won't they?

    ReplyDelete
  67. mrtommy...

what if #1 loses a very close one?

    ReplyDelete
  68. I do think Boise will be undefeated by the end of the season. But I don't think they will be up to #3. Especially after the Tulsa game. They are "required" to totally dominate to get to the very top

    ReplyDelete
  69. It would still push them down right? I'm not certain that's why I posed the question. Isn't that what happened to UGA a couple years back?

    ReplyDelete
  70. I understand the best two teams in the nation argument, but it seems crazy to have two teams play two games in a row on a neutral site. I though it was ridiculous when the Big Ten fans were arguing for Ohio State and Michigan to play twice in 2006, and so is this.

I think it's likely that we'll have at least one one loss conference champion from a BCS conference, likely USC or Texas, and if that's the case, they should be in the title game. Even a one loss Big Ten champ I think should get in. Maybe not a one loss Big East champ, though. And not Boise State. But if Florida and Bama run the table to Atlanta, what's the point of having them play twice in a row on neutral fields. I just have a problem with it in principle.

Can you imagine having one being the SEC Champ and the other being a national champ?

    ReplyDelete
  71. mr tommy..

I think the only way it could happen is if #2 Alabama beats #1 UF by a very close score with #3 Va Tech out there waiting..

So then the voters have a choice of a rematch in either scenario.

I just think if that is the case that UF would get the nod.

    ReplyDelete
  72. No..what happened to UGA was that they were not in the SEC Championship game at all...right?

    ReplyDelete
  73. FSJ,

You are right, UGA wasn't in the SEC title game the year they finished # 2.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Yeah, back in 2007, and I didn't think they should have had an argument then, even with all the other two loss teams. Maybe in a playoff, they had a good chance of winning, but in this format, I hate when a team that didn't win its own conference makes it to the big game (Oklahoma in 2003 and Nebraska in 2001).

The Va. Tech argument is interesting, but I think they may lose in Atlanta this week. Consider this, what if Miami only loses that one game to Va. Tech and wins out, but doesn't win the ACC b/c Va. Tech is ahead of them right now in that division.

For an ACC team, Miami certainly has the gravitas of a hard schedule. They should win out, and if Va. Tech loses twice, they'll have a good argument for the BCS Title game.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Fortunately for them, most of the time the BCS thing works itself out with out too much controversy.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Agreed RK..

Regarding Miami...I have a hard time giving them the cred they would need due to how bad Va Tech beat them.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Everything is conjecture at this time. A lot of what ifs, but like I said, in principle I have a big problem with an SEC rematch. Not saying it couldn't happen. I can certainly see the scenarios where it does happen. I just think it shouldn't.

    ReplyDelete
  78. I think LSU had a right to be in the title game in 2007, but how ridiculous was Miles' argument about how both of their losses came in OT, so they shouldn't count against them as much?

    ReplyDelete
  79. I don't think it should either...at this point.

I'll let you know if I still feel the same after the championship game if we were to be so lucky to get there.

    ReplyDelete
  80. There is some depth to this conversaton.

I simply believe that if you don't win your conference, you don't deserve a shot in the big dance.

Texas better win this week or they are out.

    ReplyDelete
  81. All of this talk is just silly, how is Alabama going to make the SEC title game after we win out and play Florida in it?

    ReplyDelete
  82. I generally agree Eddie...

It is a shame that Alabama and Florida are in the same conference..

All of this assumes they continue playing well and winning.

    ReplyDelete
  83. Agreed. If Texas loses, Oklahoma with be a two loss (at least) Big 12 champ, taking that conference out of the hunt. If USC beats Notre Dame this week and Oregon in two weeks, they'll have a pretty decent chance of getting to the title, though Texas is the only other BCS conference team out there right now other than Bama and Florida who truly controls its own destiny.

    ReplyDelete
  84. Miles is a doofus.

    Luckiest man on earth.

    ReplyDelete
  85. I got sick and tired of hearing Georgia Fans complain about not getting a shot at the National Championship game in 2007. It made me sick. Try going undefeated and not getting a shot before you come whine to me.

    ReplyDelete
  86. Does Mark Richt get canned if he loses @ Vandy on Saturday?

    ReplyDelete
  87. According to al.com...Auburn is asking fans to wear navy to the Ole Miss game on Halloween.

They are calling it a Navy Nightmare.

    ReplyDelete
  88. He won't Sean...

    But his star is fading.

    ReplyDelete
  89. Yes, FSJ. We're aware. I do not approve of the name.

    ReplyDelete
  90. If they lose tomorrow, they're staring 5-7/6-6 down.

    ReplyDelete
  91. Not to start a war....but that would be a great time for Auburn to break out the orange jerseys...

    ReplyDelete
  92. Richt will get an opportunity to right the ship. He'll fire Martinez as DC and get at least one more year.

Funny they are asking us not to wear Orange on Halloween.

    ReplyDelete
  93. I am in full agreement about the conference winner thing. ( I forgot UGA didn't make it to the SECCG o put them in the spot they were). In my opinion, you HAVE to win the conference in order to play the big game. The only problem that arises is the 2004 situation with 3 undefeated conference winning teams

    ReplyDelete
  94. Now it would cool if they had the whole stadium dress up in Navy and then broke out the Orange on the field. But that seems contrary to the theme.

    ReplyDelete
  95. Agreed RK..and Ole Miss' colors are Navy too.

    ReplyDelete
  96. Yeah, I've already commented on the irony of having us wear blue on Halloween of all days after ten years of Orange. Where's the logic? I'm all for calling blue, but let's time it better next time.

Also, my belated apologies to THT for missing the Beasley post. Won't happen again.

    ReplyDelete
  97. FSJ,

Quit agreeing with me. You'll blow my cover.

    ReplyDelete
  98. Another scenario.

We win out and win the conference title game. Do we even crack the top 5?

    I kid, I kid.

    ReplyDelete
  99. Too late RK. We'll just pretend you're a double agent. I'm sure you show up on Bama messageboards as RollTideRK.

    ReplyDelete
  100. E-Bro,

I refuse to even say those two words together much less use it as an ID.

    ReplyDelete
  101. So, we now know that RK, Sensi and myself work for the darkside. What other powers does FSJ have here?

    ReplyDelete
  102. Oh, Auburn's breaking out the Blue Helmets and pants on Halloween!

    ReplyDelete
  103. I do have magical powers...almost super powers.

Kryptonite is the only thing that can make me weak.

    ReplyDelete
  104. Like Anakin Skywalker, I'm sure you guys will come good before all is said and done.

    ReplyDelete
  105. LOL Eddie.....I knew you'd be for it.

    ReplyDelete
  106. Funny that last yr Ole Miss promoted a "blue out" against Auburn in Oxford. If Snead had not had such a bad game last yr, if would have been a blew out.

    ReplyDelete
  107. They did last week against Alabama..

    Worked out well for them.

    ReplyDelete
  108. Come on RK, you've never said, "roll tide roll, around the bowl and down the hole, roll tide roll"?

    ReplyDelete
  109. Ok, you got me on that one E-Bro...and I may have also said Payroll Tide before.

    ReplyDelete
  110. Bro's got a point RK. I call you out for the liar you are!

    ReplyDelete
  111. What about my favorite...Parole Tide!

    ReplyDelete
  112. Payroll Tide. I like that. To quote the booster from the movie Blue Chips: "The best players money can buy!!"

    ReplyDelete
  113. Everyone exposing my lies this week.

    ReplyDelete
  114. I'm not sure I like the turnaround in this conversation.. :-P

    ReplyDelete
  115. E-Bro vs FSJ for the souls of me, Eddie & Sensi.

    ReplyDelete
  116. "If Snead doesn't have a bad game..." I think the real statement to be made is if Snead would have played a GOOD game. Snead is awful.

    ReplyDelete
  117. Yeah, FSJ, I was just about so suggest we tone it down with you and RK present.

    ReplyDelete
  118. RK, cage match, thumb wrestling, ping pong. What kind of competition are we talking here?

    ReplyDelete
  119. I also have the following ID's...

    HottyToddyRK
    GoBigBlueRK
    GoDorsRK
    GoGatorsRK
    GeauxTigersRK
    BigOrangeRK
    GoDawgsWoofWoffRK
    and the always popular
    GoCocksRK

    ReplyDelete
  120. I think a scaffold match.

    ReplyDelete
  121. Duly noted. Cleveland at Rhea County tonight. Who you got, RK?

    ReplyDelete
  122. Unfortunately I will pick Cleveland. Hopefully we can not have a big brawl this year.

I hate that Rhea Co is struggling so much after a 10 win season last year. My cousin's son is the starting QB for Rhea and last year it looked like he was going to have a successful time there, then they bumped us to 6-A.

    ReplyDelete
  123. E-Bro..

I'm all about the cage match..

    I'm a bammer so I cheat...

    I kid.

    ReplyDelete
  124. What about a tiddly winks or a cypber staring contest?

    Wait...what?

    ReplyDelete
  125. The question about the matchup between E-Bro vs FSJ which adds to the drama is who do Sensi, Eddie & I side with?

Does Eddie turn on his own brother? Which side will have the new Four Horsemen?

    ReplyDelete
  126. Sean, Snead played very well last yr except for the Auburn game. Hope things aren't in reverse this yr.

    ReplyDelete
  127. E-Bro,

Be thankful you aren't living back home. We have around the clock coverage on the LFO football/cheerleaders Bible verse controversy that just won't go away.

    ReplyDelete
  128. I'd like to think I can count on my brother and a fellow Tennessean/Chattanoogan.

    Sensi...there's no hope there.

    ReplyDelete
  129. Yeah RK, I've heard rumblings about the LFO thing. I'm actually moving back in a week and a half, so I might catch some more of the fallout if there is any left.

Kudos to FSJ for his second Nature Boy callback this week (that I know of).

    ReplyDelete
  130. The question I have about that picture is how high is Barry Windham, he looks really messed up.

    ReplyDelete
  131. So getting out of the Rockies before it gets too cold?

    ReplyDelete
  132. That's right....only two this week.

I dated a girl from Georgia once that in her younger years was obsessed with wrestling. She used to sneak out of her house as a teenager and go with her friends down to the old wrestling shows at the Omni.

    Crrrrrraaaaaaaaazzzzzyyyy..

    ReplyDelete
  133. Anonymous1:24 PM

I don't believe in Beatles, I just believe in my picks.

    ReplyDelete
  134. Snead played well enough at times last year to be hyped this year. He looks like this:
9 tds,9 ints, 11th best pass accur. in the SEC he's not even in the top half of QBs in the SEC in a year where QBs aren't that dominant in the league. He's awesome.

    ReplyDelete
  135. Not exactly, we had a high of upper 20s and snow last Saturday. It's warmed up now though, so I'll miss the brunt of winter. Hopefully I come back soon for skiing.

    ReplyDelete
  136. Snead played pretty decent ball last year from Bama onwards, especially in November and the Cotton Bowl. Apparently it was just a hot streak for him, though, because he has been nothing short of awful. Worse than Crompton even.

    ReplyDelete
  137. FSJ,

I was a huge wrestling fan as a kid. Anything from 85-until the early 90's is golden to me.

    ReplyDelete
  138. Well when you combine the legacy of Ole Miss with the record of Houston Nutt it always computes as 8-4.

    ReplyDelete
  139. I'd rather endure a HABOTN sissy slap fest than read another freakin' post about messin' with the uniforms.

If I go to the Ole Miss game, and we're wearing something other than our home blues or our away whites, I'm leavin'.

    ReplyDelete
  140. Really? You'll get up and leave before the game begins? I call BS!

    ReplyDelete
  141. RK..

I was in Nashville ten years or so ago for business and the WWF was in town. Some people from work invited me to go with them down to see the show....It was a trip.. My first and only time at a wrestling show. I still laugh thinking about it.

This guy sitting a few rows in front of us got kicked out for getting into a verbal altercation with another fan. But the war of words wasn't like what you and I would do...It was in the wrestling lingo and tone...(i.e...layin the smack down on his candy arse and such)...Like I said, it was a trip.

I was surprised at all of the down time at those productions. You'd have a flurry of activity and then after a match it was nothing for several minutes.

    ReplyDelete
  142. The blue thing makes it hard to notice Ole Miss fans...unless they catch wind of the arrangement and all wear red, which will most certainly happen.

I like Orange unis and scary Halloween music!

    ReplyDelete
  143. Even with dual home unis, do Ole Miss fans generally wear Red anyway? Or do they do as their team does?

    ReplyDelete
  144. We can also have blood splattered on all of our uniforms for the Halloween feel as well.

    ReplyDelete
  145. I hope the blood splatters are not fake. I'm all for it if the team eats babies to get them hyped up, or Eltoro finally figures out how to know someone's head off and blood goes everywhere.

    ReplyDelete
  146. What if we put those fake meat cleavers around the helmets?

    ReplyDelete
  147. How awesome if our defense, instead of mouth pieces, wears vampire fangs?

    ReplyDelete
  148. They run out in blue or orange pants, or orange jerseys, or blue helmets, I'm leaving. Period.

Coaches change. Offenses and defenses change. And that's fine.

For me, the uni is the line.

    ReplyDelete
  149. Jet: Super sensative fashionista.

    ReplyDelete
  150. I still think you don't even attempt it. Even if you do, Mrs. Jet pulls out the "quit being a whiny ninny and sit your butt down." Either way, you stay in the stadium.

    ReplyDelete
  151. For Jet's sake, and because I respect him so much, I won't dwell on it. I'll just say this. Auburn's school colors are orange blue. It seems like all our other sports wear some orange unis here and there. I don't think it's the be all end all, but it would be okay with me. I still prefer blue to orange, but I wouldn't mind breaking it out one game a year.

Like I've said before, instead of blue in Baton Rouge, let's wear orange. It never feels quite right watching us wear blue down there in Tiger Stadium anyway.

    ReplyDelete
  152. E-Bro,

That's not a bad time to do that since LSU wears the road whites at home.

    ReplyDelete
  153. Keep bringing the gospel Bro Jet. Some things should never change.

    ReplyDelete
  154. Exactly to RK, not ballin, though I respect all opinions.

    ReplyDelete
  155. I would prefer that we just stick with the normal look, however if we were going to break out the Orange, why not do it on the road at LSU?

I wonder what LSU fans thought when they broke out the purple jersey?

    ReplyDelete
  156. Snacks ...

A couple of things, and I'll let it go.

Mr. and Mrs. Jet have been married 20 years. She gave quit going to games with me looooooong ago.

For those of you who wish to spice things up or try a new wrinkle, I appreciate your energy. I, however, am an unabashed traditionalist.

You kids have a nice Friday. I've got stuff to do before the Battle of Ida Belle Young Park (STJ vs. Catholic). Pull 'em through tomorrow, I will not be in attendance.

I may check in later this afternoon, but I'm not sure.

HOLA and HOLLA to the HOTTIES -- even those that want to change the uniform -- kids today! Just kiddin'.

    Woot.

    ReplyDelete
  157. Later Jet. Have a good one.

    ReplyDelete
  158. Let me first state that I am not for the wearing of orange jerseys. I am pretty much of a traditionalist. I don't even like it when the basketball team does it. I'm not even a big fan of inter-league play in MLB.

However, I must present a hypothetical to Jet:

What if AU breaks out the orange jerseys for the IB, you leave, then in your vehicle listening to RB (your favorite), you hear AU pulling off the miracle victory? Do you still enjoy it? Upset that you left or not?

    ReplyDelete
  159. Dang, I was still typing when he left.

    ReplyDelete
  160. Apparently, my posts have the same effect on other Hotties that the orange jerseys have on Jet.

    ReplyDelete
  161. I dunno, the football team has worn orange before. Every other team wears orange at some point. Orange is one of out two colors (white is not). I don't see how orange is defying tradition. It's not like it's a brand new concept.

    ReplyDelete
  162. I know we are all trying to be traditional, but didn't Auburn wear orange unis waaaayyy back in the day?

And also believe Jet would stay for the game if Auburn came out in orange.

  163. If Jet ever leaves a game because of a uni, I'm gonna don an orange wig and do this.

  164. It wouldn't be so bad if you wore a blue wig.

  165. Where's Kristina?

I swear I saw her today.

  166. Again, I want to keep the blue jerseys mainly, but when football players started wearing face masks, did purist reject that as well? Did Alabama Polytechnic Institute graduates reject the name Auburn at first?

Speaking of orange jerseys, am I the only one who thinks Florida should pull those out of retirement and put them on the Gators?

  167. listen, puppet hour starts in 14 minutes. This is looking to be the worst puppet hour in ages. Step it up.

  168. There's already been at least one terrible puppet hour this week. You may have thrown out your "Cake or Death" quote too early. I know that's Eddie Izzard, but it reminded me of two Monty Python scenes:

  173. The best thing about cold weather is the extra pockets. In hot weather, my keys, phone, Ipod, chapstick, spare change, and whatever else gets shoved into my two measely shorts pockets. But cold weather is like a Pocket Wonderland with the bonus jacket compartments. October should be renamed Pocketober.

  174. You want me to go it alone?

  175. E-Bro, as long as you have substance, it is all good in the hood

  176. That's the thing about HABOTN though. I don't want to name names, but I think sometimes people post things without having a real point to their comment. I think that really hurts the integrity of the blog.

  177. Hey E-bro, remember the time you tried to steal my name?

  178. Fear can sometimes be a useful emotion. For instance, let's say you're an astronaut on the moon and you fear your partner has been turned into Dracula.

Next time he goes out for the moon pieces, wham! You just slam the door behind him and blast off. He might call you on the radio and say he's not Dracula, but you just say, 'Think again, batman.'

  179. Like it was yesterday...or a month ago, or a year ago. I forget, so I guess I don't remember exactly.

  182. If you ever drop your keys into a river of molten lava, let'em go, because, man, they're gone.
