REMINDER: Mission statement

Hey everyone. I didn't spend much time yesterday reading through comments after, say, 2 p.m. ... and I'm somewhat dismayed at some of the stuff that occurred.

I thought I made myself clear on Sunday night.

One HABOTN.

You all are bound by the fact you're Auburn fans. There are at least 1,000,000 ways to be a good Auburn fan. Just because Fan B doesn't agree with your ideas doesn't mean Fan B should be chided for his/her ideas. They like Auburn. They watch a lot of football, too.

So let's HABOTN up, represent and live the mantra: One HABOTN.

I will put people in the Harmony Hut and subject you to repeated recording of Jacko's "Heal The World" if you don't come correct.

  1. You think losses dampen my fervor? Forgetaboutit.
I don't really like "drinking kool aid". It's over-used and lame. Until a better phrase is coined, that's what I'll be doing.
    I love Auburn.
    War Eagle.

  7. I hate making change. Nobody ever seems to have the correct amount and someone always gets short changed.

  8. I retro-posted today's FIRST POST ... because I want this message atop the blog for a few hours.

I'll be back around 11:15. Then it's time -- BLOGGIN FER YER NOGGIN.

  9. So Jay G....you are saying you missed my solo performance of the beginning of "misunderstanding" by Genesis?

    Morning Hotts!

  10. Lots of PMSing going on the past couple of days. Hopefully we are past that and we can start putting our energy to good use, Beat Kentucky and Hate Bama!

    War Eagle!

  12. The roles have reserved this week.

Auburn was facing a bad matchup last week.

Now Auburn faces perhaps its most favorable matchup ... particularly with UK's quarterback and both CBs out.

    ReplyDelete
  13. thank you sir....it was the only time i have ever been alone in here so i thought it warranted something special.

  14. AUN did a great job with the solo yesterday. My hats off...literally as I am not wearing a hat.

  15. Yesterday, I said that I wouldn't be surprised if we saw several changes made for this weekend. Someone later asked me to clarify and I had left the blog for awhile and never got back to what I was alluding to.

I don't think that we will see Mario on the returns again unless it is a real necessity. I think we see the offense going back to the power running game much more than they did in the first half last Sat. I think that it is a good possibility that with the return of Hot Carter, we may see AC working some at LB and putting a real pass rush on from the LB position. There other things that would not surprise me, but those are the main thoughts that I had. Comments?

    ReplyDelete
  16. I think that we have two more bad match ups for sure, Ole Miss and the evil empire. I think that we will match up well with the remainder.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Say what you want to, but we don't match up well with LSU IMO. I could be wrong, but that game doesn't look good right now for us.

    ReplyDelete
  18. The old man killed the thread.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Mario has seemed to struggle holding onto or catching the ball over the past three years, but it's hard to take him off the field due to what he can do with the ball when he gets it. I figure we'll still see him out there on returns, especially if FAH is still banged up a little.

If Hot Carter gets a lot of playing time, I figure it will be at DE and Coleman at LB due to his injury.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Good points Werk; however, I didn't mean that Mario wouldn't be on the field at all, just the returns. How about Frenchy. He did a good job of catching the ball at Tenn. on punts.

    ReplyDelete
  21. i will be making my first trip to death valley so we need to win that game so i have good memories...though i will be in baton rouge so if i need to "forget" those memories it will not be that hard.

need to get that confidence back this weekend though. i said yesterday the best thing about the loss this weekend is that everyone had their day game together....hopefully they got it out of their system.

  22. Jay,

Not hate here, I have always understood I dont always agree with all Auburn fans, some know more than me and some know less, some I agree with and some I dont, but we all are Auburn fans, so you cant hate there.

Shamone...I feel your Michael Jackson theme, I just put on Michaels "Man in the Mirror" and rode by a elementry school in a shady way and watched Home Alone 2.

    (Sarcasm people)

    ReplyDelete
  23. Eddie, what do you see for LSU that will give us fits?

I really like that matchup--an offense that can't score seems to be a good opponent for us.

In my opinion, we will score 20 on everyone other than maybe Bammer...I don't think LSU can score 20.

I was much more worried about the Arkansas game than the LSU game...

    ReplyDelete
  24. Okay,

I am out for awhile for my hour walk. War Eagle, beat 'tucky and keep the hate alive.

    ReplyDelete
  25. PDWT - That was great. I wanted to say something along those lines, too, but yeah didn't have the nurgets to do that this morning.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I think several NFL draft gurus projected Coleman as more of a LB than a DE, anyway. That would seem to be a positive move for Auburn to shore up depth at a thin position, and for AC to show what he can do playing LB.

Of course, that move didn't work out too well when tried with Quentin Groves, but AC seems to be more of a run-stopper than Groves did.

I do think some of Coleman's frustration stems from fear of his draft status falling. Not that I blame him at all, he has a lot of potential money riding on his play. I hope things work out for him.

  27. YW, Tommy D, got to combine some humor with seriousness.

Cold weather predicted for the game this weekend, I am pumped.

Saw where the school wants us to wear Blue for the ole miss game.

Thats all I have, I have an appt. down town. Im out for a bit.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I agree with what was said yesterday of all games to ask us to wear navy, the game is on Halloween.

    ReplyDelete
  29. You know what, this thing would've died down a while back if you guys had let it die down. I come back from work to find werk's lies right there.

Now if WERK calls an Auburn athlete "ill disciplined and habitual of drawing penalties", I won't argue. If he says "AC does not care about the 'student' part of student athlete", I won't point it out. If he makes a snide remark about another Auburn athlete I won't tell him otherwise.

And Sensi, your snide remarks are funny... I am sure you don't see the irony in them.

JayG, you don't need to make threads about harmony n stuff. I'm outta here. I don't fit in this bunch of hyenas that attack their own after the first damn loss.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I don't post here anymore because of all of the violence. It's like northwest Jacksonville, or Shreveport, or Compoton up in here.

THIS IS A GOSH DURN JOKE! IT'S NOT FUNNY TO YOU? TOUGH!

  31. Jay W- LSU is very good at stopping the side to side running with their great team speed, they are less physical up front than in recent years, so that's a positive, but I think their defense provides our offense with some challages and I believe they matchup better than most until the last game against our offense. They also have Charles Scott who I know has not been steller this season, but he will have a good game at some point and Jefferson can be a good QB, just see the end of last season. LSU is off this week and have time to rest and heal why we continue the grind. Winning in Red Stick is always tough and I was part of the last team to do so in 1999 (Thanks for the Cigar Tubs!). Our defense has the ability to make any offense look if our offense goes 3 and out a few times in a row and I think LSU will do that to us. If Arkansas defense can do what they did to us, then don't think others can't either.

  32. We are the world
    We are the HABOTN
We are the ones who make a brighter day
    So let's start postin'
    There's a choice we're making
    We're saving our own Chiz
    So drink some more Kool-Aid
    And take a whiz.

    ReplyDelete
  33. If we were all on a plane that crashed in the Andes, who do we eat first?

    ReplyDelete
  34. just don't whiz on the Chiz yo.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Wow, to everyone I do regret what my "lies" have caused in here.

    Eddie,

I think LSU is pretty one dimensional right now and that helps our D out. Anything that helps the D out is a good thing.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Peter- I'm glad I lost the weight so I won't be first on the list to eat :)!!!!!!

  37. If the news conference is BLOGGIN' FOR YOUR NOGGIN, then is the mission statement reminder BLOGGIN' ON YOUR NOGGIN?

    ReplyDelete
  38. So anyway, we have a presser today. I hope lots of good quotes come out of that and stuff.

    ReplyDelete
  39. RK- I hope you are right. Maybe it's just all the bad games in Baton Rouge that have me jumpy.

    ReplyDelete
  40. i didn't know weather.com had football forecasts. cool. UK GAMEDAY WEATHER.

    ReplyDelete
  41. The last two games in BR have been good performances with bad endings.

    ReplyDelete
  42. FYI: Auburn baseball is having a celebrity home run derby this friday night at Plainsman Park. Bo, Gabe Gross, & Timmy Hudson will be there. pretty cool. it starts at 6 CT.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I saw that Scottie...nothing like aluminum bats in the cold.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Glad to see Bo making his presence known on campus again.

    ReplyDelete
  45. i think they'll be ok at 60-65 degrees. :)

bat technology is crazy these days. the aluminium & composite bats ain't what we played with as kids. no sirree.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Today's bats are so thin and lightweight that weather can destroy them.

    ReplyDelete
  47. so Bo might actually break an aluminum bat over his knee?

    ReplyDelete
  48. ...with his titanium hip.

    ReplyDelete
  49. if thats not worth a dollar i don't know what is.

    ReplyDelete
  50. if i can get off work early enough i am SO there.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Scottie,

How long does the drive from Knoxville to Auburn take you?

It takes me about 3 1/2 hours from Chattanooga.

    ReplyDelete
  52. 5.5 hrs from my house. i live in NE Knoxville.

    ReplyDelete
  53. So I take it you don't do a day trip down and back like I do sometimes.

    ReplyDelete
  54. i did for the MSU game and got home early sunday morning.

my sis lives there so i crash with her.

    ReplyDelete
  55. do anyone else think we should start Chizik's chin at WLB?

    ReplyDelete
  56. Nugget, this will be my first trip to Tiger Stadium as well. Hope the Auburn Tigers can make this a memorable one.

As for the "Navy" Halloween, aren't Ole Miss' colors Navy and Red. Why would we wear Navy on Halloween? I understand they want orange this week, with a change for Ole Miss, and then All Orange again for the last game. My peeps prefer the navy, so they are happy about it.

I haven't heard any more on Byrum. Would it have happened when he had to do the kickoff in the 4th quarter? I'm assuming Hull was injured.

I hate all the drama (and they say women are emotional). I like reading this blog. It's the only one where I actually participate. If I don't agree, I just move on to the next comment. I enjoy the humor and good info.

    ReplyDelete
  57. There were a lot of excellent statements and advise from the Advisory Board. Enjoyed reading them.
A loss will always bring out the frustrations from fans, let's man up and stop the bickering. It is sad when grown people act like children so let's just don't.
I hope each of us can see the other persons side of the discussions and not try to retaliate. This just adds to the problem.
    Step down.....remove soap box.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Didn't Chizik play LB in college anyway?

His chin is probably good for a few tackles per game.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Well I hope you people are happy now. I asked you to be nice yesterday and provided you with an excellent quote from "Motorist" but you didn't listen. So now we have a "Harmony Hut", criminy. Now look at what you've done.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Do I share a love for Auburn too?

    ReplyDelete
  61. Just so we're clear here, I RARELY post anything of substance here I leave that to those of you with more statistical, recruiting, historical and football knowledge in general. I think my history reflects that quite well. So, hopefully, none of you have been PO'd by anything I've put here. Mostly, I'm joking. Mostly. About the only time I'm not joking is when I'm saying bad things about Jet. In those instances; those are 100% true, accurate and serious posts. Jet is a bad man. And by that I don't mean bad meaning good. I'm plotting his downfall.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Don't know FSJ but you seem to share a friendship here, which is a bit unusual. I shared the same thing at one time on Al.com tide free for all with cats, Gotide, bama92 and others but that got torpedoed and I ahven't been back.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Okay everyone needs to stop eating wheaties and cheerios. Evidently there has been a rogue urinator that his been by.

    ReplyDelete
  64. As that reference grinds the blog to an immediate halt.

    ReplyDelete
  65. down here, this is our time.

    ReplyDelete
  66. since no one will tell me how folks audition for the advisory board, I'm going to just start writing things and submitting them to the sports editor.

  68. Norm ...

I am good personified. You know better than to attempt to besmirch my reputation.

You, however, are the HABOTN version of Wile E. Coyote, only slighly less competent.

So bring it on ACME boy. You have no chance.

    Beep Beep.

  69. I am very concerned about some things I'm reading on this site lately.

JGTate, ice skating on a weekday is right up there in the George Constanza sweatpant wearing in public category.

    ReplyDelete
  70. While I agree with his message, I find the tone of the late Dr. M.L. King Jr's speeches a little annoying.

    ReplyDelete
  71. I think the "issues" on the blog must have something to do with puppets.

    ReplyDelete
  72. My daughter was out of school and she wanted to ice skate.

    Seemed like a reasonable request.

I never watched Seinfeld, so I have no idea what your Costanza reference means.

    ReplyDelete
  73. wow, I'm offended by me. I should not talk sometimes. Heal the World. Make it a better place. For you and for me and the entire human race. There are people dying]. If you care enough for the living, make it a better place.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Jay G, I'm a little upset that you never watched Seinfeld. One of the best shows. Ever. It's not too late, though. Four or five networks currently show reruns.

  75. Lets spill a little of the old thread on the earth for our fallen hommies.
