    See ya'll around.

  2. Why couldn't we just run it on 3rd and 1?

    ReplyDelete
  3. You gotta run that. That was ridiculous.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Well they finally start a drive where they should. But I can't get over how bad that play call was.

    ReplyDelete
  5. That's one thing about the Malzahn offense that needs work.

    ReplyDelete
  6. I mean, you're not going to want to run it up the gut against Mt. Cody, but that play didn't have a chance from the start.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Bad call, Gus! COme on!

    ReplyDelete
  8. Bynes has Ingram's number

    ReplyDelete
  9. Defense keeping us in it, now offense needs SOMETHING

    ReplyDelete
  10. War damn defense.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Nice job D. Please catch the punt.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Or let it go. That's fine. No fumble. Small victories!

    ReplyDelete
  13. After the game I'm getting a peppermint chocolate chip milkshake from Chick-Fil-A. It looks rather good

    ReplyDelete
  14. Dang, am I the only one who noticed that Aeronaut just made a cameo?

    HATE brings us all together.

    ReplyDelete
  15. That was a pretty nice little run from Kodi there.

    ReplyDelete
  16. TAKE THAT YOU EVIL BASTARDS!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  17. DARVIN ADAMS!!!!

You can say what you want about him, but man oh man, Chris Todd has the meanest pump fake in all the land!

    ReplyDelete
  18. Hi there, Momentum, it's nice to see you again.

Would it be too much to ask for a stop and another score, so Bama is on their heels again?

    ReplyDelete
  19. CBS is going to be pissed when they can't advertise #1 vs #2 and have to re-do these SECCG ads.

    Yes, I'm being optimistic.

    ReplyDelete
  20. *$^! keep kicking it outside please I don't care if they get it on the 40. Our coverage isn't good enough to risk it

    ReplyDelete
  21. maybe Hull knew what he was doing kickin' those other KO's out of bounds. Ha.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I honestly thought those kicks were on purpose... guess not since Byrum kicked that one.

    ReplyDelete
  23. NICE STOP! Do they go for it?

    ReplyDelete
  24. HUGE!!!!!!!

I can't say enough about our run defense today

    ReplyDelete
  25. You gotta hit him in the numbers.

    ReplyDelete
  26. At least Fannin IS playing.

    ReplyDelete
  27. We've got to keep the D off the field.

    ReplyDelete
  28. dumb pass.
How many times has Todd faked the little screen pass to look downfield, when the little screen was actually open?

    ReplyDelete
  29. Why do you kick to Arenas?

    Anyone?

    ReplyDelete
  30. Man I thought he stepped out. Dang.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Kickoffs, punt returns, we need work and prayer.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Defense, we need you again.

    ReplyDelete
  33. praying for another missed FG. or turnover. it's time.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Auburn's defense came to play.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Yah! We're getting more pressure on McElroy than I thought.

    ReplyDelete
  36. tru dat, JGT. I am not familiar with this defense, but I am uber impressed.

    ReplyDelete
  37. yay defense! boo special teams. out of bounds, every time please.

    ReplyDelete
  38. the key for us on defense is to get pressure with 4. when we blitz, we get torched.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Nice job D. Let's score! I hope Todd's got a few more big plays in him. I also hope that he throws a nice pass to Fannin. Why does he save his worst passes for Super Mario?

    ReplyDelete
  40. Nick Fairley = good.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Saban needs to watch his language!

    ReplyDelete
  42. So THIS is how it feels to have nice field position. And we didn't have to risk a returner dropping it! win win, my friends

    ReplyDelete
  43. Fairley was your choice for player to watch next year, Jay.

    Looks like a good call.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Quit running it up the middle!!!

    ReplyDelete
  45. Dangit!!! CT, no!

    ReplyDelete
  46. That play looked busted on the start. At least Darvin made him pay

    ReplyDelete
  47. Todd has made several of those... finally bit him.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Todd has had some terrible plays today.

    That one really hurt.

    ReplyDelete
  49. We do not need to hand them points.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Everyone needs to take a deep breath.

    ReplyDelete
  51. We're gonna need some more points, I'm afraid.

Defense is starting to show the strain.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Defense, do it again!

    ReplyDelete
  53. *Meaning the Defense. THey are starting to look frustrated. I understand why, but still...

    ReplyDelete
  54. This defense is playing their butts off today.

    ReplyDelete
  55. My sister was hit on by our bammer cousin yesterday... you can't make that shit up.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Our defense has definitely showed up at the right time.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Well, Bama has taken possession of the ball 8 times from their own 40 yard line, or closer.

They have scored only 20 points.

Unfortunately, I don't see how we can keep that up and still have a shot at winning.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Please Chris Todd, lead this offense to a touchdown!

    ReplyDelete
  59. The D is playing lights out.

If the offense doesn't start sustaining some drives, I'm afraid they will finally wear down.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Yeah, Defense must be gassed. we need a couple of 1st downs.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Todd, nice job, BUT THROW THE BALL AWAY and stop the deer-in-headlights act.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Chris Todd needs a walker.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Why run it up the middle? It drives me crazy!!!

    ReplyDelete
  64. We need at least 10 points this quarter to win it.

    ReplyDelete
  65. I might go for it here.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Might as well go for this.

It's not like they will end up any further away if we punt.

    ReplyDelete
  67. OK, who's thinking fake now?

    I sure am.

    ReplyDelete
  68. I'm guessing the TO meant Alabama thought so too.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Bama takes a timeout to ice the kicker.... on a punt!

    ReplyDelete
  70. OK, I'll take that.

    Great fake by Arenas, though.

    ReplyDelete
  71. For a second there it looked like they were gonna let it go into the end zone. I wouldn't be surprised with how our special teams are

    ReplyDelete
  72. I smell a turnover.

The good news is Washington can catch our punts better than he can Bama's

    ReplyDelete
  73. This would be a big safety. make it a 3 point difference

    ReplyDelete
  74. Who needs depth?! Our Defense is staying so strong

    ReplyDelete
  75. Nick Fairley is gonna be something special

    ReplyDelete
  76. Where's our boy FSJ!?!? Hahahahahhaha

    ReplyDelete
  77. He's at the game.

He'll be here win or lose after its over.

    He's an exceptional Bammer.

    ReplyDelete
  78. think ricky is ranting?

    ReplyDelete
  79. 10 and a half minutes left is way too early to start playing the clock.

    ReplyDelete
  80. These announcers seriously think there is a chance we should run the clock?

    ReplyDelete
  81. Why does Todd pitch it so early?

    ReplyDelete
  82. Cursing up a storm here.

    ReplyDelete
  83. NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Please block!

    ReplyDelete
  84. phew. 20 isn't terrible.

    ReplyDelete
  85. That was an ugly drive, and the first one we started on their side of midfield all day, too.

    ReplyDelete
  86. At least they stopped talking about Tiger Woods.

    ReplyDelete
  87. We can't keep putting it on our defense.

    ReplyDelete
  88. I think Todd's been sacked on just about every play action pass. So, stop it.

    ReplyDelete
  89. Anonymous4:35 PM

What was that? We need to move the ball in the other direction!

    ReplyDelete
  90. We need a turnover and make a short field...

    ReplyDelete
  91. So we can stop Ingram, but not Richardson.

    ReplyDelete
  92. Anonymous4:37 PM

We need a huge stop right here D!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  93. Wasn't that a pick play? Isn't that illegal?

    ReplyDelete
  94. This is a great game.

    ReplyDelete
  95. that's the 2nd time Ricks could've got to the QB but stops because he sees a possible screen. BUt he's already committed, might as well hit the QB

    ReplyDelete
  96. Dang, stop there would have been huge.

I'd hate for this game to come down to a FG by Tiffin.

    ReplyDelete
  97. Bama can't score here. We'll have barely anytime to respond

    ReplyDelete
  98. Quit getting first downs Bama, dang.

    ReplyDelete
  99. I'd think about burning my timeouts right now

    ReplyDelete
  100. Oh, I've seen this movie before.

    I REALLY hate the ending.

    ReplyDelete
  101. If only Ricks had lateraled to a DB so he could return it for 2 points and make it a 3 point game.

    Maybe that's a stretch.

    ReplyDelete
  102. where was the pick on the play before.

I think Washington will get a good return here.

    ReplyDelete
  103. Come on, please. Run it back for a TD

    ReplyDelete
  104. Come on Auburn!!! You have your shot to kill the evil empire!!!

    ReplyDelete
  105. Turns out I was wrong... He wasted alot of time there.

    ReplyDelete
  106. Always at the worst times

    ReplyDelete
  107. Horrible management

    ReplyDelete
  108. Throw a 10-20 and get out.

    ReplyDelete
  109. how does a team that "plays as fast" as we do look so poor in hurry up?

    ReplyDelete
  110. Regardless of how this ends, I am very proud of this Auburn team.

    ReplyDelete
  111. Great game Auburn. You kept it close and had a shot. All we needed was one more defensive stop. We beat the spread and looked very good to the recruits.

    ReplyDelete
  112. It's great to be an Auburn Tiger.

    ReplyDelete
  113. hurry up sucked, heart is broken, still great to be an Auburn tiger.

    ReplyDelete
  114. We played better than anybody expected... just came up short. I'm proud of the way the boys played. We should have at least gotten 3 on the drive we started in their territory, if we do its a whole different game. But I'm proud to be an Auburn Tiger today.

    ReplyDelete
  115. I hate to play just good enough to lose.
But I am proud of their effort today

    ReplyDelete
  116. it is truly great to be an Auburn Tiger.

    ReplyDelete
  117. We played a heck of a game against the number 2 team in the nation. This is a win in my book. Auburn is headed in the right direction.

Okay, how many of you are shedding tears for Ingram as he set on the sideline kissing his Heisman goodbye?

    ReplyDelete
  118. We may have not won, but one thing's for sure. We showed Alabama there will be no more pushing around, we're ions ahead since last year

    ReplyDelete
  119. tony barnhart suuuuuuuucks

    ReplyDelete
  120. or however you spell it.

    ReplyDelete
  121. we will not be pushed around, that is for sure. last year was an aberration.

    ReplyDelete
  122. Didn't he say at half time that bama was gooing to win by double digits. Someone needs to remind him of his big mouth

    ReplyDelete
  123. I cannot begin to say how proud I am of this football team. We started what, 3 freshmen on defense? We had next to nothing in terms of depth. We gave Bama all they could handle. They are winners in my book.

    ReplyDelete
  124. Tiger Woods gets Boo Boo!!! Film at 11. Sorry, just don't care.

    ReplyDelete
  125. no Heisman for Ingram, boo-hoo.

    ReplyDelete
  126. §FC, you are 1000% correct.

This is the best I've felt after a loss in a long time. I feel like we've got a football team again.

Bama's a championship-caliber team (even though they haven't won a championship yet). I knew if we let them hang around that they would find a way to beat us.

Our last possession before their winning drive was the key. That defense stepped up and got the job done, and set it up for the offense to come through.

It hurts for the Seniors, who came in with such promise 4-5 years ago, but they will receive a lot of credit from me for heading the program in the right direction.

I just hope we can put this behind us and play as well in whatever bowl we end up in. If we do that, we'll win. No question.

    ReplyDelete
  127. Does Bama feel good about this win?

    ReplyDelete
  128. We may have set ourselves up for the Chick Fil A Bowl with today's game, most likely against Clemson. I'd consider that a great outcome.

    ReplyDelete
  129. Yeah... Anna, I'll take it.

    Stupid iPhone....

    ReplyDelete
  130. Congrats FSJ!

    We never really hated you..

    ReplyDelete
  131. There's no such thing as a moral victory but these kids oughtta be proud of themselves. But moral victory? Non exsistent we got a tough L today fellas.

    ReplyDelete
  132. Oh I know you'll TAKE it. But does it feel good?

And once again the "we just beat the hell outta you" chant is completely unfounded.

    ReplyDelete
  133. A loss is a loss is a loss - but I can take a loss where our coaches put our team in the best possible position to win, and the players respond by playing their guts out for 60 minutes.

That's what happened today. Props to Bama for hanging tough and getting the W, but props to our boys for doing everything they could to prevent it.

    ReplyDelete
  134. Fearless, I am with you. Few times does a loss feel this way. I can not remember seeing an Auburn Team fight the adversity like they have this year. Auburn showed today that they will be a force to reckon with and that the Coaches we have were the right choices. At my age I don't want to wish my life away but I sure can't wait for August of 2010. War Eagle!

    ReplyDelete
  135. We should've won that game. The play calling and Chris Todd hung the defense out to dry.

War Damn Eagle anyway. I like where we're headed, but the coaches have a lot to prove next season.

    ReplyDelete
  136. Chris Todd is the only reason we were in the game, so I guess you have to take the good with the bad.

    ReplyDelete
  137. Play calling an Chris Todd were what kept us in the ballgame.

We simply aren't a very talented team. After you figure in the injuries and suspensions, we're a lot closer to Kentucky than we are Alabama.

I'm embarrassed that we lost to one of those teams, but not to the other.

    ReplyDelete
  138. i need quotage.

    ReplyDelete
  139. You can't just call good plays for two quarters, and expect to win. You have to call four successful quarters. That didn't happen.

Also, Todd had a lot of throws that he he wants back.

Way too many pointless screens, and up the middle, dead-end runs.

Yeah, the reason we were in the game in first place was the play-calling, and Todd's throws, but you can't go conservative and hope for the best against the No. 2 team in the country.

We could've put that game away on at least two possessions, and called conservative plays.

While Todd and Malzahn had great moments, their mistakes cost us the game, from my lazy boy.

    ReplyDelete
  140. There is talent on this team, primarily on offense. There is just a gross lack of depth on defense, our linebackers aren't up to par with what we have had in the past, the defensive tackles are average, not game changers like Marks or Sims, and the safeties are ridiculously inexperienced.

    ReplyDelete
  141. Defensive ends and corners look pretty good, but we still have lack of depth there.

The defensive performance against Alabama was outstanding. I didn't think we had the players to do it.

    ReplyDelete
  142. Tough loss; congrats to the bammers. Their team came through with a big drive when they had to have one.

Here's to better days in the future; in the meanwhile, keep HATE alive.

    ReplyDelete
  143. Thanks cotton. I actually like y'all.

Your team played their asses off.

    ReplyDelete
  144. Be proud of an incredible effort. They battled to the end. Can't say shoulda won, but coulda won. HOTTIES, don't fuss. That minimizes one whale of an effort.I don't believe in moral victories. I believe in work -- hard work -- and I know our guys spilled every ounce of guts they had. I believe in Auburn. I believe in this staff. I believe where we're going.

    ReplyDelete
  145. Once we get a bit more depth and experience, we are really going to be tough to beat. If as some claim, we have no talent, and we can hang with the number two team in the nation, what will this team with no depth and no talent look like when the talent arrives?

    ReplyDelete
  146. I know that the team is extremely disappointed, but I am so proud of them. They have certainly demonstrated their character as a team and as individuals this year.

Looking forward to the bowl game; it is great to be an Auburn Tiger!

    ReplyDelete
  147. I agree. I am prouder of this team than many of our teams that achieved a lot more. This team has a lot of heart and better team chemistry than most teams I have seen at Auburn. Chizik deserves SEC coach of the year. They did more with less and you have to respect that.

    ReplyDelete
  148. I have finished my newspapery responsibilities, so let's get QUOTIN' AND NOTIN'.

    I'm working on that now.

    ReplyDelete
  149. I agree about Chizik and staff. It is amazing what they have been able to accomplish in just one season. They took players with wounded spirits and convinced them that they were still a good football team.

    ReplyDelete
  150. It's not that we have NO talent, its that we have very little.

The Floridas, Alabamas, LSUs, and even the Georgias and Tennessees have two or three players at every position who possess enough physical abilities to compete at what is considered "SEC-caliber". That is, they aren't significantly smaller, slower, or weaker than the average starter at any other SEC program.

At many positions, we have only one player who meets those minimum criteria. And many of those were thrown into critical situations with minimal opportunity to get 'coached up' simply because we had no choice.

Sure, knowing that we could have been 10-2 right now if things had gone better today and against UGa and UK hurts. But considering all that's happened since last fall, to be 'only' 7-5 is nothing of which to be ashamed.

    ReplyDelete
  151. Jay G,

I have followed this blog for approximately 1 year now. I have watched this team go from 22 beings to 1. I end up saying this every five years but this team made me proud. I'd love to know if any of them read this blog. They FOUGHT. thats all i care about at the end of the day is that you FOUGHT. this team has been compared to last year and trashed and they had guts. thats all i ask. I was with 6 of my insane AU friends and they said this team had guts. YOU CAN WIN WITH THAT. I'm not a moral victory guy but if this is the foundation of the Chizik era then it is a solid mold of concrete because I belive in Auburn and LOVE IT.

    ReplyDelete
  152. please excuse my typing b/c i'm hammered drunk and love that too. I'm also the guy who Ben Tate's freshmen year said he'd never be an SEC back- WRONG. He's a NFL calibre back and sits among Fullwood, James, Jackson, Williams, Davis and Brown. WAR EAGLE.... I'll be around.

    ReplyDelete
  153. Yes, depth is the real issue and I do think a lot of the problems will be solved this recruiting season. We need to get 4 or 5 players signed against last year's class that can practice in the spring. If we get that and over 20 of the 25 recruits counting against this year's class actually make it to campuses, depth should be much better.

The other big factor will be who we get and if we get enough people for the offensive and defensive lines, which are my primary concerns.

    ReplyDelete
  154. As for this team, they should feel very proud of what they accomplished this season. I do not remember an Auburn team ever being so in trouble in terms of depth. These players played their hearts out.

    ReplyDelete
