Auburn picks up another commitment

Hey everyone. Our friends across the Intertubes -- AuburnSports.com, ITAT and Auburn Undercover -- are reporting that Louisiana WR Trovon Reed has committed to Les Tigres.

Rivals.com ranks Reed as Louisiana's top prospect and the country's No. 7 prep wideout. He is six feet tall and weighs approximately 175 pounds. Reed had offers from basically everyone.

He is the second major offensive recruit to pick Auburn during the past week. Arkansas TB Michael Dyer pledged his undying love toward the Tigers last Friday.

  1. Well, great. I guess someone else decided to make a big announcement on my announcement day. What a thunder stealing jerk.

  2. Jay W- Darrius White does not seem to be in the plans for Auburn at this point.

    ReplyDelete
  3. anybody that follows this stuff a bit more closely than myself know if we're a strong possibility for WR Darius White out of TX. We already have three 4 star or better WR, but adding White would make this the strongest crop of WR recruits going to one school that I can remember!

  7. thanks Eddie...carried that post over from the last thread before I saw your response. I see everyone lists him as "medium" interest, but there are like 15 teams in the same category for him.

    ReplyDelete
  8. He would be nice, but I think we may be done at that position now.

Well Hotties, I have to go out of the office for work. I will see you all later or maybe in person tomorrow.

    War Eagle!!!!!!!!!!

    Hate / Beat GEORGIA!!!!!!!!!!!!

  9. You should have stuck with your original time, MJT.

Just read the Q & A from last night. As a big Sesame Street fan, I must point out that Kermit was on that show, as well as hosting the Muppet Show. He was also a five-star long-jump recruit.

    ReplyDelete
  10. I also read the Q and A... so PF has suspicions that I am the antichrist? No PF, but I am definitely not the first Eurasian to be accused of such. I guess it's just our way.

    ReplyDelete
  11. I would save this for puppet hour, but I will be on the way to Tuscaloser for a gymnastics meet:

Trivia - most muppets are left-handed.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Another high profile recruit? Oh my!

    ReplyDelete
  13. I'm really hatin' UA-T today. Anybody else?

    ReplyDelete
  14. With ya, THT! I can't tell you how much I hate visiting Tuscaloosa. I believe I shall have to sport an AU cap at my daughter's meet tonight.

    ReplyDelete
  15. That reminds me...at almost every AU game I've been to over the past couple of years, I've seen at least one Bammer totally decked out in Bammer gear. Why the heck would someone do that? I may be wearing my AU cap in Tuscaloser tonight, but I would never attend a Bammer game against someone other than AU while wearing AU stuff. Of course, I'd never go to a Bammer game unless they were playing AU, so it's a moot point, I guess.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Suddenly we seem to be wide reciever U. Now I would like to see another 2 or 3 offensive linemen commit, hopefully Eric Mack. I like the possibilities of the nicknames available for him.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Love me some recruiting. Sounds good on paper, hope he pans out.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I hope we get Damien Robinson. Then Olive Branch can change it's name to Auburn University Preparatory Academy.

    ReplyDelete
  19. hahahah dungeouns and dragons.

Scott C, I've veen to several games in AU gear in which AU was not playing. I like watching live football and AU gear is what I usually wear on Saturdays.

    ReplyDelete
  20. PF, I might consider wearing something AU to some other games, but I know those Bammers are just doing that to be obnoxious. I guess it's all about intent.

  21. Pulling into the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Jet, y'all gonna take that bus for a few laps?

    ReplyDelete
  23. I'd love to. Personally, I'm hoping to run into Danica Patrick.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I am happy with the pick up however I wish this guy was a little bigger.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I am SO glad to see us picking up some quality WR recruits, especially now that we seem to have a staff that can coach em up. As long as we also keep picking up top notch RBs, I'll take it.

Speaking of hating bammer (all day every day), I had lunch with a Clempsun coworker who is down on ESPN because Spiller is getting no love. Her perspective is that ESPN is in the tank for Tebow or ingram because they want to see an SEC winner. She may be right. I just don't want it to be ingram. I do so like our 2-0 lead over bammer in the Heisman category.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I can't believe the bammer papers keep referring to Ingram as "Heisman frontrunner".

    PUH LEEEZ!

He may be the best RB in the SEC, but he's not the best RB in the country, nor the best player in the SEC. No way he should be declared "frontrunner."

I think it's time for another Houston QB to win.

  28. AU now has the the #1 player in La., Miss, Ark.

Could the #1 player in Al be to far off?

    Look out.

  29. To vote for Ben Tate for the Doak Walker Award:

    Vote

    ReplyDelete
  30. I Voted - and will again, and again....

    ReplyDelete
  31. i didn't bother to read it. I'm assuming the cumulative fan vote will account for about one one zillionth of the total vote?

    ReplyDelete
  32. Who is the #1 player in AL?

I voted, and bookmarked it to vote regularly. Tate is leading so far.

    ReplyDelete
  33. THT, there are 130 voters for the Doak Walker Award. That's better than a zillion!

  34. Hello Hotties!

I have been in Charleston helping my daughter and witnessing the birth of my grandchild. I have been without internet access since Sunday, and I can truly say I am addicted.

So what has happened since Sunday afternoon in Hottieville or even Eurasia for that matter???? Haven't had time to read past posts.

I think I'll play the Cash 3 lottery. A busy year for our clan. Our first grandaughter was born on 8/11 and now our grandson was born on 11/8. Cool, huh?

    Yeah....I think I will play 8,1,1!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  35. LCT,
I'm having some strong HATE for UAT today even more that the usual hate..."The Hate is strong with this one" keeps resounding in my ear!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  36. missit,
do it... btw we picked up Tevon Reed daoy WR from La.... WDE!!!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Mobilz! Great to hear from you. Yes, we are hating UAT in the strongest sense of the word today!!!

    ReplyDelete
  38. missinit,
How exciting!! I am hoping to be experiencing the same thing in the next year or so. My daughter wants to be pregnant at her husband's law school graduation in May :) They just rescued their third dog - I told them no more granddogs until we have a grandbaby!!

    ReplyDelete
  39. missinit, sorry you didn't have better weather in Charleston! It's ugly over here (and cold).

    ReplyDelete
  40. I love the recruiting angle, great wideout, but.....who is going to throw to him next year?

    ReplyDelete
  41. Neil? Tyrik? Barrett? Clint?

    ReplyDelete
  42. I kissed the bricks... and I liked it.

    ReplyDelete
  43. lowcountry,

Yeah, it was yucky outside but I had a sweet little 9 pounder to keep me occupied!

Stayed at brother-in-laws condo on Isle of Palms. Didn't even get to walk on the beach! Too occupied first of the week with new little one and too windy and cold yesterday!!!

    ReplyDelete
  44. congratulations on the new grandbaby. At least the crummy weather is a good excuse to provide Auburn gear for the little one. Hopefully you provided some, since we have a hard time finding any over here (sooo tired of Clempsun and the gamecocks).

    ReplyDelete
  45. Past Tampa. Athens or burst!

    WDE

    ReplyDelete
  46. Pedal to the metal, PF!!!

    ReplyDelete
  47. When voting for the Doak Walker award, remember: it is as important who you don't put int he top 5 (Ingram) as it is who we all must put at #1 (Tate).

    ReplyDelete
  48. working on it THT. Joined a caravan of peeps in a hurry. Naples to Sarasota was a traffic nightmare for some reason. Gotta make up for lost time.

    ReplyDelete
  49. I still haven't seen an MJT announcement. I think he might have been teasing us.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Go PF, go. I am VERY jealous. And my parents are not very happy with me right now (since they live in Athens).

    ReplyDelete
  51. Cincy-CJ Moseley is the #1 player in the state, according to Rivals.

    ReplyDelete
  52. WTC,
Thanks. Do you think we have a chance with him?

    ReplyDelete
  53. yeah, the MJT announcement was a big tease. i'm very disappointed.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Cincy-Yes AU has a real good shot at him. Much better than many thought. family memebers (mom) are VERY high on AU now

    ReplyDelete
  55. Norm, I am really pretty disheartened by someone else stealing my announcement thunder. It is hard to bounce back from.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Let me put this in terms you dudes can understand:

Norm, it is like my announcement had two eyes at the beginning of the day, but now all of a sudden it just has one eye, so you know, it is no good anymore.

Scottie, it is like if you had ordered a million shirts for some dude, but someone else orders 2 million shirts for a cooler dude, so then you pretty much want to burn all the shirts, you know, just like how Trovon Reed announced some stuff and all that and so on, ya know?

    ReplyDelete
  57. MJT,

Can you somehow relate it to the Boston College coaching situation? I think that would make it easier to understand for me.

    ReplyDelete
  58. you're right michael. that would suck. i'm bummed just thinking about someone cooler than me selling 2,000 shirts. i wish i could meet that guy and take out his eye!

    ReplyDelete
  59. Anyone want me to do their Christmas shopping for them? I am finished but I still want to shop.

  61. Sorry for the last post. I was angry.

    ReplyDelete
  62. i picked up my sis a sweet AU Under Armour jacket today on ebay for $40. sweet!

    ReplyDelete
  63. Cincy,

    Are you paying?

    ReplyDelete
  64. oops, nobody tell her. it's a secret.

    ReplyDelete
  65. WERK,
I'll shop for free if you provide the money for your purchases. :)

How is your dad doing? Praying for pain relief and quick recovery.

    ReplyDelete
  66. rk, I will answer your question a second time, hopefully without conflicting edits.

The BC coaching situation is actually the perfect thing to compare my announcement situation to. This is actually a true story. Last year, Bethel College was about to fire their special teams coordinator for entering talks with the local Men's Warehouse about becoming the new sales manager. Well then all of a sudden, the BC coaching situation happens. Bethel College can't fire their guy or it would seem like they were copying BC and everyone would make fun of them. Well wouldn't ya know, the special teams coach didn't get the job at Men's Warehouse, so he is stuck at Bethel College this season. Everyone knows his heart isn't in it, and all he is doing is thinking about suits all day, so their special teams stink. I guarantee it.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Cincy - MrsTHT hates to shop. Perhaps I'll pass along your offer to her. Since I don't shop at all, the offer is wasted on me.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Cincy,

He's still very sore, but feeling better today. I doubt he'll be doing much more than just watching football this weekend. Thanks for asking.

    ReplyDelete
  69. I have found some awesome deals this year! I got Guitar Hero's World Tour Band Kit for $84 shipping included, an ipod touch 32 GB for $273 and the 5 seasons of House for $79, no shipping. There are some great deals if you have the time to look for them.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Poor Michael. life stinks sometimes. Maybe you'll have an even better announcement later. Don't plan on making it on a Friday.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Cincy, having all your christmas shopping done by Nov. 13th just doesn't seem right to me. it's just craziness!

    ReplyDelete
  72. 5 seasons of House for $79?

    Where?

    ReplyDelete
  73. Scottie,

I usually get mine done before Black Friday because I hate malls.

    ReplyDelete
  74. MJT,

Thanks for clearing that up for me.

    ReplyDelete
  75. I love getting it all done and then I can go to the malls and people watch. I love doing that! I just wander around and pick up stuff for stockings - no pressure.

    ReplyDelete
  76. i don't really do a lot of shopping so it's not a big deal to me. plus i get my family stuff from work most the time so it's easy.

    ReplyDelete
  77. So when are you heading to Athens Scottie?

    ReplyDelete
  78. Got the House DVDs from Source Plaza.

    ReplyDelete
  79. i'm leaving at 6am ET tomorrow. i want to be on campus by 11.

    ReplyDelete
  80. Cincy - that's a fine offer but I won't need it. My hot wife does all of our Christmas shopping and we came to an agreement several years ago that we'd each be happier if she bought her own Christmas/birthday/anniversary/etc gifts then leaving me only needing to buy her a card, go to dinner, etc. It finally came to a head when she told me exactly what to buy her for Christmas. I followed her instructions precisely and 3 days after Christmas she returned the gift. So now I never have to go to a mall again and that makes life pretty good.

    ReplyDelete
  81. so she told you exactly what to buy and then she returns it? ouchers.

    ReplyDelete
  82. THT, if you're here....

    ReplyDelete
  83. THT on the dunk. Scottie with the assist!

    DARVIN ADAMS!

    ReplyDelete
  84. Scottieus= Master of the Set-up, and Master of the Pinch Hit Homerun

    ReplyDelete
  85. well, rats. I pile of work snuck up behind me.

    ReplyDelete
  86. same here THT. it's been a busy week in the sporting goods world. basketball leagues are heating up.

    ReplyDelete
  87. I'm so glad my work is shopping! Norm, I am a little more stealthy than that. I tell my daughter exactly what I want and she tells my darling hubby, who buys it for me. It is a little more of a surprise that way. And I do love surprises! Although with our purchase of the Auburn condo, our Christmas presents to each other are a little scaled back this year. But the condo was an awesome gift!

    ReplyDelete
  88. I hate shopping. I dream of a website called buythemsomething.com. You would just input some data about the person such as how much you liked them and how much you want to spend and they would gift rap it, attach a boiler plate personalized card, and ship it. The website would make life so much easier.

    ReplyDelete
  89. Tell me when you find it Steve - I would be so all over that. I Hate To Shop Too!!!

    ReplyDelete
  90. PF, thanks for your advice from an earlier thread. You are probably right. I spend most of my time on the internet while I'm work, though, and I'm an x-ray technologist in a hospital - so, technically, I shouldn't be on the computer at all. Ya think they'd buy me a nice computer chair?

    ReplyDelete
  91. Just chose the worst exit ever. Gas pumps had lines and were slow. Go to get back on the interstate, and it's shut down because of a wreck a half mile from the exit. Now I sit and wait. Aggghhhhh. I didn't even need gas yet, just the exit I always stop at.

Cincy, are you providing the funds as well? If so, count me in 'cause I hate to shop and I don't have any money!

  93. My condolences, PF. Keep calm, unlike my usual behavior when stupid people clog my highway.

  94. Holy Meteorological Wonders, Batman... the clouds are breaking up!

    ReplyDelete
  95. I am really interested that Tom Lemming has Reed rated as the 2nd best DB in the country as well. With our depth issues in the secondary I wonder if Reed has anyshot ending up on that side of the ball. I commented on his size earlier he seems more sized to play Defense to me.

    ReplyDelete
  96. Sorry, Luv, I am just willing to provide the manual labor.

    ReplyDelete
  97. Oh well, it was worth a shot! :)

  99. RED SHIRTS...SILVER BRITCHES...GO TO H*LL YOU GEORGIA B**CHES!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  100. Thanks for getting me beat up, JDonna. There's no way I won't get drunk and use that.

    ReplyDelete
  101. PF ... That's an old fave.

    ReplyDelete
  102. How have I missed that all these years? Might have something to do with the IV of bourbon and tequilla that I get when I'm in Athens. My ears pretty much quit listening a few hours into those experiences.

    ReplyDelete
  103. WTC.... so you got confirmation on Mosely?

    ReplyDelete
  104. WERK glad to hear your Dad is improving here's to a quick recovery.
Happen to come across ESPN College Football Today and the host asked Tberville who would win the Al-Fla game he said Al because Fla had taken some of the run options away from Tebow.
He also asked if Tuberville was ready to get back in coaching and he said he would be looking. Then he asked about the Memphis job and Tuberville said no it was too hard to get good players at non BCS school and he would be looking in that direction.

    ReplyDelete
  105. We just watched Auburn Every Day. This week's episode is a MUST SEE!!

    ReplyDelete
  106. LUV,
I watched it this afternoon and that was great stuff with Etheridge and coach

    ReplyDelete
  107. I was all over Central Florida today PF, traffic was surprisingly light for me.

    Where you at?

    ReplyDelete
  108. Wake....sounds like PF is on a journey to Athens!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  109. i'm leaving for Athens in 9 HOURS! yippee! i need to get to bed early. tomorrow is going to be a long day.

    ReplyDelete
  110. Yeah I gathered that Missinit, was wondering where the interstate is backed up. I hate that stretch of highway, always accidents.

    ReplyDelete
  111. I hate flea-bitten mutts!!!

  112. if anyone wants to watch the AU Men's basketball game you can watch it here. the women's game just ended and the men are now warming up. it's a double-header.

    ReplyDelete
  115. Thanks for the link Scottieus

    ReplyDelete
  116. Scotty- i have it up and running. Will they do a play by play?

    ReplyDelete
  117. no audio. just the video feed. you'll catch some stuff in the microphones, though.

here's a link i have for football audio. not sure which carry basketball, though. i'm not listening to it yet.

    ReplyDelete
  120. too bad Michael isn't here. he could live-blog it for us. :(

    ReplyDelete
  121. since i've taken over this part of the thread i'll add this random piece of basketball info:

i really miss those midcourt seats in the Cliff Dwellers. perfect Tiger Pause viewing seats. those were the days.

    ReplyDelete
  122. not that anybody else is actually watching this, but the audio is almost a full minute behind the live video. sorry.

    ReplyDelete
  123. is there a HABOTN record for continuous posts? i may set it tonite.

    ReplyDelete
  124. Scottie,
It is cool to watch though. I came in right when they were introducing the team. Feels like I am there! Thanks for posting the link.

    ReplyDelete
  125. I'm not a Lou Holtz fan, but it was good to hear him point out the obvious - that the higher ranked teams, like AL, FL, and tonight Cincinnati, are the beneficiaries of the poor officiating. Cincy just fumbled at the goal line and WV recovered. The play wasn't really even close, but the reply guy over-ruled it and gave them a td.

Yes, I think the TPTB in the Big East want to see Cincy in the BCS Championship. There are millions of $ at stake here; think they won't cheat a little to get them?

    ReplyDelete
  126. I have no idea what the score is when watching the live feed. Bummer.

    ReplyDelete
  127. Congrats to the Saint James Marching Trojans -- one of four semifinal bands in the Bands of America Grand Nationals in Class A. Ali, I'm proud of you and your band.

    ReplyDelete
  128. welcome Cincy.

it's kinda hard to follow when the audio & video don't match. oh, well.

PURPLE EAGLES lead by 3. can't remember score.

    ReplyDelete
  129. Jet, any idea if Ooltewah made the semis?

Yeah, that's right. I'm asking a high school marching band question on the HABOTN.

    ReplyDelete
  130. congrats Jet to your band peeps.

    ReplyDelete
  131. 13-12 AU with a TO on the floor.

    ReplyDelete
  132. I'm only catching bits and pieces of the game...
What's the score? How do we look?

    ReplyDelete
  133. it's hard to tell this early DM. Lebo actually subbed 4 guys at one time a few mintues ago. it's been years since we've been able to do that.

it does look like we're pushing it up the floor a good bit.

    ReplyDelete
  134. E-Bro ...

Sadly, no. Ooltewah didn't make it.

    ReplyDelete
  135. Kind of hard to keep up, especially when I don't get the score. Seems like we are committing a lot of fouls.

    ReplyDelete
  136. For shame, for shame. Oh how far once mighty Ooltewah has fallen.

    ReplyDelete
  137. Hargove had 2 quick fouls to start the game.

    ReplyDelete
  138. Just wanted to check in. Are the Hotties meeting up in any particular place?

    ReplyDelete
  139. 3 by Malone-AU to tie it at 20.

    ReplyDelete
  140. hey TommyD. i am meeting up with my cousin (UGA grad) somewhere on north campus. that's what he told me anyways. so i'm not really sure.

    ReplyDelete
  141. if you see a guy in an #89 Darvin Adams jersey, that's me. please say HI!

    ReplyDelete
  142. Thanks Scottie! I guess I'll check in where that big group is listed as parking and see what I can find. We're probably going to be getting things together around 12:30 or so.

    ReplyDelete
  143. lots of missed shots in this half.

    ReplyDelete
  144. I'm gonna have my HABOTN cap on and will be surrounded by many UGA students somewhere near the Kappa Sig house on River Road. If I see ya Scottie, I'll holler.

    ReplyDelete
  145. Does it seem like we are forcing 3's? What is the score?

    ReplyDelete
  146. Scottie, what if it's Darvin Adams in the #89 jersey? Then we're going to feel awfully silly.

    ReplyDelete
  147. we were down 23-22. yes, lots of ugly shots. we were shooting like 18 percent from 3 land.

    ReplyDelete
  148. E-Bro... you won't confuse Scottie with Darvin...

    trust me...

    ReplyDelete
  149. D.Miller, u trying to say by looking at me i don't look like i've got mad receiving skillz? that hurts man.

    ReplyDelete
  150. Was that my imagination or did I just see AU make 2 free throws?

    ReplyDelete
  151. okay...I'm watching the feed, so who are we playing and who is "The Voice" and where is it coming from?

    ReplyDelete
  152. Is Scottie not a rangy 6'3" and 185 lbs?

    ReplyDelete
  153. Tay Waller out with an injured quad...

    ReplyDelete
  154. it's the PA announcer. he only announces substitutions & scores.

we're playing Niagara. they won 25 games last year. they're not bad.

    ReplyDelete
  155. 185, maybe... 6'3" might be a stretch...

I'm sure he has sic receiving skillz though...

    ReplyDelete
  156. no, but i did live in Kennesaw, GA for 9 months.

    ALL HAIL DARVIN ADAMS!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  157. i'm a solid 195 D.M. i have tears in my eyes. just painful.

    ReplyDelete
  158. Scottie looks like a head hunting safety... not a lanky WR

    ReplyDelete
  159. I'll dub him....Ball-Hawk

    hey, it's better than chickenhawk

    ReplyDelete
  160. scottie b,
    what's the score?

    ReplyDelete
  161. We look very sloppy...and seem to be getting some Slive cooking with the officiating...

    ReplyDelete
  162. tied at 30 now Cincy.

    nice save DM. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  163. WVU finally has a drive going in the second half.

    ReplyDelete
  164. You should be wearing a #4 jersey... if you're going to wear a jersey.

    ReplyDelete
  165. #4 is definitely a Ball-Hawk safety.

    ReplyDelete
  166. That Brown kid for WV is good... at least a good runner.

    ReplyDelete
  167. Don't tell me you are pulling against my Cincy team?

    ReplyDelete

  179. I just feel for Cincinnati. The whole time we lived in Cincinnati, they were terrible. They gave away football tickets just to get people to go to the games. It is fun to see them finally have a good year.
