  1. We need to be careful. Furman could come back and get it within 5 touchdowns.

Nice to see Mackenzie with a tackle.

  3. Anonymous2:22 PM

    Why would you catch that?

    ReplyDelete
  4. Incredible.

PPL muffs a punt, Furman recovers at the 6.

Or try to I guess is what I should have said.

WOW!! That is plain bad by PPL

    ReplyDelete
  8. What's French for "D'OH!!!"

    ReplyDelete
  9. oh well...tough break for the D, they had played very well all day... that TD wasn't their fault, but it still shows up as a blemish.

    ReplyDelete
  10. OK, that one's on Frenchie, not the defense.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Nice to see a fellow Prattvudlian get the TD, though.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Okay, I volunteer to return punts for Auburn. With my 40/40 time, I won't get many yards, but I can catch.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Anonymous2:26 PM

Do we see PPL back there again or even today? Or is he done?

    Oh boy.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Eric Smith fumble. Lost.

    ReplyDelete
  19. We have to stick with PPL. He is the experienced guy, no matter how bad of an experience it has been.

    ReplyDelete
  20. GETTING MAD im probably just gonna go watch the LSU/BAMA game and not worry about this game we have already won

    ReplyDelete
  21. Well, the first half was pretty darn good.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Gabe! It sounded like a great play

    ReplyDelete
  23. Can we make a gentleman's agreement with UGA to take the ball at the 10 on every possession and just leave special teams out of the game?

  26. Our 2nd team defense is, uhh, not good.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Time to go to the grocery store while the Bammers are watching their game.

    War Eagle!

    ReplyDelete
  28. PPL at corner.

That's one reason why the 2nd-team D stinks.

    ReplyDelete
  29. But before anyone gets too upset by recent developments, may I remind you at the same point in our 2008 Homecoming game against UT-Martin, the score was tied 20-20, and we had managed only one offensive TD and had around 200 yards of total offense.

    DISCLAIMER: It's not pretty.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Dang, did that flashback kill a GAME THREAD?

Sorry, Rocky, don't know my own strength. . .

    ReplyDelete
  32. TD ERIC SMITH!

Good running on that drive. Makes up for the fumble.

    Caudle looked sharp as well.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I don't think ANY of us want to remember that UT martin debacle that wasn't Freep.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Benton getting some touches is nice.

PPL is really playing corner? Is that an experiment or is there just nobody else to sub in?

    ReplyDelete
  35. It's interesting hearing a lot of Freshman and Sophomore players being announced. And that's a good thing

    ReplyDelete
  36. Good to see Benton make some plays today.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Despite the two turnovers, this has been a VERY encouraging game overall.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Peter: I'll get an answer for that after the game.

    ReplyDelete
  39. BRANTLEY, ALABAMA, HELLO!

    ReplyDelete
  40. Country boy Gulley got a TD

    ReplyDelete
  41. Roster is officially up on my computer so I can figure out who these people are.

    ReplyDelete
  42. OK, refresh my memory (this time in a good way) - when's the last time we looked this good against a team we were expected to handle easily?

My vote would be Ball State, 2005.

    ReplyDelete
  43. This second-team defense is not very good.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Obviously this game is going to end much closer, but we don't have nearly the talent we had back then.

Hated to let them get that TD, but their first string offense is better than our defensive scrubs, so they deserved it.

    ReplyDelete
  45. I guess this is why they are on the 2nd and 3rd teams, right?

    ReplyDelete
  46. That, and the fact that they're all we have left, yes.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Be nice to stick it in the enszone once more. Don't think we've broken the sixty mark since that BSU game 4 years ago.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Anonymous3:13 PM

    Nice run buy Gulley

    ReplyDelete
  49. Anonymous3:14 PM

    by not buy

    ReplyDelete
  50. Yeah, like that.

    COUNTRY!

    ReplyDelete
  51. Some nice blocks on the TD run!!

    ReplyDelete
  52. Anonymous3:16 PM

Three important keys to improving our defense:

    Recruiting.

    Recruiting.

    Recruiting.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Gulley appears to be somewhat speedy.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Anonymous3:18 PM

Gulley is now averaging 15.4 yards on 5 carries.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Just took a look the last time we scored over 60 was that 05 Ball State game. Although the final then was 63-3. I guess our backups were a little more talented then. And just for hoping the last time they scored over 70 was 03 against La Mo

    ReplyDelete
  56. AU offense thus far: 68 snaps for 653 net yards (38-280 rushing, 27-30-373 passing), 9 TDs (5 rushing, 4 passing).

    Dang.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Anonymous3:19 PM

    Wow since 2001 most points.

    ReplyDelete
  58. That's not correct, it was 2005.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Anonymous3:21 PM

    So noted.

Side note, Navy 14 ND 0 at the half.

    ReplyDelete
  60. C'mon, clock, run out before they score!

    ReplyDelete
  61. Announcers were wrong about that Ball State game, but they're making up for it by showing DaVille some love.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Jay G appears to be one of like 74 people still in JHS.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Wow, didn't realize that none of our 9 TD drives started on their side of the field. Six of them 60 yards or more.

    ReplyDelete
  64. wow.... backups i know...but 30?? we're very very thin!

    ReplyDelete
  65. That's what happens when you put walkons in one-on-one coverage.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Now that's how your suppose to win those give-me games.

    ReplyDelete
  67. 31 points is WAY too much to give up to Furman. FURMAN!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  68. GEAUX Tigahs!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  69. i know, i know...walk-ons, depth, etc....

    ReplyDelete
  70. i do like the 63 points, though. very nice. most since 2001.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Well 2 turnovers did help them out in their scoring drive.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Anonymous3:30 PM

7 wins. I picked 5 at the beginning of the year.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Just a little short bud

    ReplyDelete
  74. Once our defensive starters leave the field, they are more talented than we are.

    Sad, but true.

    ReplyDelete
  75. i know, i choked. oh, well.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Oops, sorry to miss up your Beasley Scottie.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Wellll crap, a score with 22 seconds left. Oh well - it was a game that was never in doubt. The first team got to rest. The other guys got to play. EVERYTHING that I was hoping to have happen this time. War Eagle!! Yay us! lets kill some dawgs!

    ReplyDelete
  78. This comment has been removed by the author.

    ReplyDelete
  79. On the bright side, midway through the 4th we were outgaining them roughly 500-120. Those last two TD drives (which accounted for 140 of their 266 yards) came against a defense almost exclusively composed of non-scholarship scout teamers.

    ReplyDelete
  80. OK, JGT, good work today - now get finished and get home early. You've earned it!

    ReplyDelete
  81. Why isn't AL running the ball?

    ReplyDelete
  82. Anonymous3:54 PM

    100

    ReplyDelete
  83. Of course, McElroy will have his best game against us.

    ReplyDelete
  84. Can we borrow Chris Todd for the 2nd half?

    ReplyDelete
  85. Only if you give us some of your defense

    ReplyDelete
  86. FSJ, your gray shirt LBs would be starting at AU.

Why aren't they running Ingram and Richardson more?

I would imagine this will be the last year for that AL OC.

    ReplyDelete
  87. Michigan is looking like they won't make a bowl for the 2nd straight year. How the mighty have fallen.

    ReplyDelete
  88. There are a LOT of bad teams out there this year, not just Michigan.

Neither the Big12 nor the Big10+1 will end up with more than 5 bowl eligible teams from the looks of it.

It now appears that the Big12 CG will feature Texas and Kansas State. One will likely be undefeated and ranked no lower than #3, and the other will have at least 4 losses, including one to a Sunbelt team (on the road, no less) and another by 52 points.

    ReplyDelete
  89. Yes...Kathy...

    Run the blankety blank ball.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Ingram's touched the ball 7 times in the first half..

    Not enough...Not near enough.

    ReplyDelete
  91. Your right Freep, but those programs aren't the winningest program in NCAA history.

    ReplyDelete
  92. True, Wake, most of them aren't - but Nebraska is, and they are also sucking wind again this year.

    ReplyDelete
  93. Very True Freep. I am surprised Pelini hasn't been able to make some progress there.

    ReplyDelete
  94. I mean, Nebraska is one of the winningest, not the winningest. But your point is well taken.

As funny as it was when he turned 'em down, I sure wish Coach fRod had taken the Bama job when he did.

    ReplyDelete
  95. Faker, looks like they took your advice re: Ingram.

    ReplyDelete
  96. BTW, did anyone hear Danielson refer to the LSU QB as "George Jefferson"?

    Lookout, Weezy!

    ReplyDelete
  97. Prediction: Bama will not trail again in this game.

    ReplyDelete
  98. Yep unfortunately I think Bama will win this one.

    ReplyDelete
  99. Just looking at the Conference standings: AU is only the 15th team from a BCS league to reach 7 wins this season.

    ReplyDelete
  100. How are UNC fans going to feel about Butch if he loses to Duke?

    ReplyDelete
  101. Maybe Bama will pull and Auburn and let the backup beat them.

    ReplyDelete
  102. Re: Duke - Cutcliffe is doing a helluva job there.

    ReplyDelete
  103. Hey, did we have any injuries to speak of today? I know Stallworth went out with a bad knee, and I thought someone said McCain left the game at one point - any updates?

    ReplyDelete
  104. I keep accidentally pulling against LSU... it is just natural.

    ReplyDelete
  105. OK, so my prediction was wrong.

    I'm not terribly unhappy.

    ReplyDelete
  106. OK, next prediction: Bama takes advantage of Miles going for 2 and wins on a last minute FG.

    ReplyDelete
  107. I also thought Oregon was the best one loss team in the country... It looks like I was wrong.

    ReplyDelete
  108. Yeah, that Julio is something special.

    ReplyDelete
  109. Looks like a pick to me

    ReplyDelete
  110. Anyone notice the ironic irony that Bama could loose thier shot at a 13th national title by not being able to count to 12?

    ReplyDelete
  111. That was an interception.

How many LSU players are out?

    ReplyDelete
  112. That call was just flat wrong. Is there any doubt at all that SEC is trying to get undefeated teams in the SECCG? No, none at all.

    ReplyDelete
  113. bama DL grabbing the facemask, no call, as usual

    ReplyDelete
  114. GA Tech beats Wake in OT, 30-27.

    ReplyDelete
  115. Anonymous6:06 PM

it sure does seem like UA is getting multiple "favorable" calls and noncalls. especially in this 4th quarter. You have to wonder if things behind the scenes are being put into place so the SEC has the dream matchup if 2 undefeateds in the SEC CG...

    ReplyDelete
  116. I hate cheaters. And since UA-T is the biggest cheater, I hate them the most.

    ReplyDelete
  117. Anonymous6:07 PM

sorry to make a double post with you, THT; i was just thinking the same thing while you posted that

    ReplyDelete
  118. I think the better team won. LSU played pretty well, but you can't lose that many starters against a team like the Tide and expect to pull off the upset.

    ReplyDelete
  119. That replay official is going to face hell this week.

    ReplyDelete
  120. Ingram for Heisman? I think you can make a pretty good case.

    ReplyDelete
  121. You can bet the SEC wants #1 and #2 in the championship. And I've never seen so many injured players during a game. I thought that just happened to Auburn.

    ReplyDelete
  122. WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!

    Ingram's a stud.

    ReplyDelete
  123. I am so FREAKIN' tired of these games being decided by the officials!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  124. I do not like the University of Alabama football team.

    ReplyDelete
  125. Definitely Freep. LSU had too many obstacles to overcome.

Bama's OC and QB must not like Jones or Ingram.

I doubt another sophomore wins the Heisman. That honor was reserved for Tebow. If Texas continues to win, it will probably be McCoy.

    ReplyDelete
  126. alright... i'm on vacation in jamaica... why did furman score 31 points?

    ReplyDelete
  127. FSJ -- I can't argue with you on that point at all. But I still hate UA-T ;-)

    Congrats, btw.

    ReplyDelete
  128. eh...the officials didn't decide that game.

Les Miles going for two did.

    ReplyDelete
  129. Bama's OC tried to give that game away, but LSU was losing players too fast. Once their QB was injured, that was all they wrote.

    ReplyDelete
  130. they may not have decided the game, FSJ, but they played a HUGE role in preventing LSU and UA-T from deciding it.

    ReplyDelete
  131. That interception would definitely had change the momentum of the game and LSU would still have had a chance. But without their QB, I doubt they would have moved the ball. I just hate that the officials have that much power.

    ReplyDelete
  132. I don't care if they had intercepted it....

    They weren't going to score.

    ReplyDelete
  133. Hi Ron,

AU played 2nd/3rd teamers the entire 2nd half when FU scored 28 of their points. AU has no depth.

    ReplyDelete
  134. Do you think Les Miles risks a fine this week?

    ReplyDelete
  135. Although I do agree regarding our OC..

If he had run Ingram in the first half we would have won by 17

    ReplyDelete
  136. Ron,
We fumbled a punt on the 6 which led to one of their TDs. We also fumbled again, so 14 points off turnovers. We were playing people I've never heard of.

    ReplyDelete
  137. They did intercept it FSJ. And without Jefferson, you're probably right about the outcome. But we'll never know since the officials, EVEN WITH REPLAY, blew the call.

    ReplyDelete
  138. I would have to think the next coach who complains about the refs isn't gonna just be fined, he'll be suspended.

    ReplyDelete
  139. You know, Notre Dame's 3rd loss of the season to Navy really could hurt their national championship hopes. As all know, I believe in Senator Holtz and trust what he tells me to be fact, but with 3 losses, it is really hard to see it happening.

    ReplyDelete
  140. Agreed kristina.

    ReplyDelete
  141. For LSU's sake, let's hope it's Les.

    ReplyDelete
  142. cool.... just got a little caught up... the score doesn't sound that bad anymore with PPL playing corner

    ReplyDelete
  143. i did catch the end of the bama Jarrett Lee and Les Miles lost that game not the officials interception or not

    ReplyDelete
  144. indeed... i am logged from Ocho Rios, Jamaica as well that should do some interesting things to Jay's global login map

    ReplyDelete
  145. Meaheeco.......I am jealous!

    War Eagle Hotties!!

It may be as good as we get but I for one had no idea we would win 7 games after last year's fiasco with what we were left with.

With that being said....this year is all about next year...War Eagle!

    ReplyDelete
  146. Btw...

    Congrats on your win..

I think y'all win one of the next two.... Be sure and get it next week!

    :-P

    ReplyDelete
  147. UAT is the luckiest team and always seems to get a break. Just sayin'.

    ReplyDelete
  148. LSU did get jobbed on the int call, but I felt like before that, they said, "This far, but not further" at 15-13. They just stopped playing it seemed.

    ReplyDelete
  149. Well, I finally sawe the final score of AU's game (after my 4th quarterr grocery store trip). We gave up 266 yards, but 31 points. That does not compute. Add in the 2 turnovers, and there it is.

    ReplyDelete
  150. The bad thing is that CBS will be hyping the Florida-Bama game for the next three weeks and pretend the rest of the SEC doesn't exist.

It'd be fun, though, to beat Bama on Nov. 27 and really pi$$ off the Eye network.

    ReplyDelete
  151. Great job by the first team today. 2nd half backup play leaves a lot to be desired but it was a good day for us. Got everything we needed to get accomplished in the first half and then we rested the starters.

It's officially Grorgia week and I HATE THE BULLDOGS!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  152. The int call was one that no matter what the officials ruled it would be upheld because there was nothing definitive either way, IMO.

We got jobbed in the first quarter when the replay booth was out...

    ReplyDelete
  153. Only score you need to pay attention to is 42-3 in the first half. I can probably count on my hand the number of players that played in the second half that will play against UGA next week.

BTW, any early reviews on Washington at safety?

    ReplyDelete
  154. Looked pretty definitive to me, FSJ, but I agree, don't think it makes a difference. LSU looked beat before that. They did have General Lee at QB after all.

    ReplyDelete
  155. You're right bro. It's Georgia week. It's Amen Corner. Now the real fun begins.

    ReplyDelete
  156. ESPN360 has the AU/Furman replay available

    ReplyDelete
  157. BTW- e-bro and myself will be hosting the next edition of Auburn Football Insiders Podcast on our new night tommorrow at 6 PM CST. I'll link it tomorrow, but join us if you can.

    ReplyDelete
  158. WAR EAGLE, Senor Ron! And welcome back!

Here's all you need to know about the last 2 TDs the AU defense gave up:

    Robert Hill
    A. Richardson
    Ikeem Means
    Derrick Lykes
    Woody Parramore
    Jonathon Evans

Those were the five AU players who made tackles in those last two possessions. And Furman's WR beat one-on-one coverage by Chris Humphries on the final TD.

We emptied the benches, I'd say.

    ReplyDelete
  159. We outgained LSU 450-250. The game shouldn't have been that close.

    ReplyDelete
  160. I heard Bama won today, who did they play?

    ReplyDelete
  161. Forgot to add that LSU had nine yards in the fourth quarter from what I can tell.

    ReplyDelete
  162. FSJ, it didn't hurt that Scott and Jefferson went down.

But I hear ya, good effort by Bama. It probably won't be easy next week in Starkville.

    ReplyDelete
  163. The Godfather II is on AMC

    I love the Godfather.

And AU and bourbon and hating UAT!

    ReplyDelete
  164. Pickem is a bloody mess this week. Dr. Lou told me Notre Dame would beat Navy. Go figure.

    ReplyDelete
  165. We currently have 74 players on scholarship.

According to AuburnTigers.com, the following scholarshipped players did NOT participate today: Donte Aycock, Zach Clayton, Drew Cole, Nosa Eguae, Zac Etheridge, Harris Gaston, Andre Harris, Cam Henderson, Adam Herring, Onterrio McCalebb, Mike McNeil, Clint Moseley, Spencer Pybus, Tyrick Rollison, Darrell Roseman, Aairon Savage, Ryan Shoemaker, Vance Smith, and Barrett Trotter. Assuming that I didn't miss anyone, that makes 19 players on scholly that didn't play today, leaving 54 who did.

According to the final stats, 71 different Auburn Tigers saw action today.

    71-54 = 17 walkons.

I'd be surprised if Furman played that many non-scholly guys.

    ReplyDelete
  166. Didn't know Herring was hurt?

    ReplyDelete
  167. Woody Parramore is a friend of mine's son. He's a senior EE major who walked on this year after not playing for the last 3 years, and when he did play, he was a reserve at Trinity. I'd say we dug waaaaay back on the bench this week.

    ReplyDelete
  168. How does a semi high profile team not have a night game in 2 years. Makes me glad we play in the land of great tv contracts... the SEC

    ReplyDelete
  169. Not only did Woody play - he was our 2nd leading tackler, tied with Johnathon Evans with 5.

Ikeem Means led all tacklers with 6. Dee Ford and Ashton Richardson were right behind with 4.

That pretty much tells you what you need to know about the game today. That and Davis Hooper picking up some rushing yardage at the end.

    ReplyDelete
  170. Anonymous7:40 PM

Every Furman player would have had to walk on to play at Auburn.

    ReplyDelete
  171. Any news on the severity of Stallworth's ankle?

    ReplyDelete
  172. not true. Forcier is a former 5star

    ReplyDelete
  173. You sure that's not his brother, PF?

    ReplyDelete
  174. Just got back from AU. hated to give up points to Furman, but it was out of hand at the half. several players looked good though.

I have not watched any of the other state team this year. I'll prolly catch them next week if I have time.

Colt McCoy took a huge step toward the Heisman today. I think it is between him and Tebow.

    ReplyDelete
  175. I thought Stallworth went down with a knee injury?

    ReplyDelete
  176. I can't leave this at 199

    ReplyDelete
