  17. Jay G just said that he was teh videographer during the graphic mud wrestling match between Miss California and Casey Kasem's daughter.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Jay G just said more player availability would make him happier than a mole on Jenna Fisher's butt.

(side note: That's just weird, Jay.)

    ReplyDelete
  19. Jay G just said that Jan Terri is really turning some heads over on the scout team.

    ReplyDelete
  20. MJT, just checkin' in. Nice job so far!

    ReplyDelete
  21. Please, Scott. I am live blogging here.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Jay G just said Michael Dyer will hold a press conference where he shocks everyone by announcing he is temporarily putting his football career on hold to tour with Motley Crue as their new djembe player.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Jay G just said Alabama will likely not win another game the rest of the year.

  26. MJT, way to carry the thread!

    ReplyDelete
  27. Great live blog, MJT.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Jay G just told us all to reach for the stars, even if it means breaking into their houses in hollywood. He said they won't mind, they like the attention.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Thanks Jay G. Glad to be of service to those who can't do the live chat.

    ReplyDelete
  30. this truly is the hottest auburn blog on the net. good work today.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I knew I could get reprimanded, MJT! If I get any punishment, please let it be a suspendion like jhag's. Apparently, he is not suffering.

    ReplyDelete
  32. suspendion = suspension

    ReplyDelete
  33. My punishment is kinda like Spikes...I get a 12 day weekend

    ReplyDelete
  34. No reprimands or anything, sorry if I seemed angry. I was in the zone, you know?

jhag - so were you drinking or not?

    ReplyDelete
  35. (Spoken in old geezer voice)... Jhag, in my day, a 5 day suspension from school would have resulted in about 10 days of hell at home.

    ReplyDelete
  36. My parents already knew where I was and knew I was drinking and not driving

    ReplyDelete
  37. OK, I see where Jay G opined that it wasn't out of the realm of possibility that Tuberville could replace Spurrier at Sakerlina, which is an opinion, not based on any information, I presume.

For the life of SteveFC, why would Sakerlina replace a coach who's somewhat burned out with another one with less credentials. I am grateful Tubs' contributions to Auburn, and don't wish him ill, but this just doesn't make sense to me.

They need an energy shot. I'm not sure who that is, but it ain't Tubs.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Okay, but do they know you list yourself as "Female" on your blogger profile?

    ReplyDelete
  39. Jet-you're a bammer aren't you?

    ReplyDelete
  40. I forgot all about it, and now I hate myself for it.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Neva talk bad about the Tubs. You know the rules.

    ReplyDelete
  42. 80+ wins in 10 years, 1 SEC championship, 2-3 SEC west titles.

    Just stop it Jet.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I'll bet Tuberville and Sexton get together and laugh about how much money they have "earned" together over the past decade.

    ReplyDelete
  44. I'm reading back through some of the chat. Jay, skip out on Ybor for partying, it has been taken over by 18 year olds and the ghetto crowd. Channelside has the best bars/clubs in Tampa.

Ybor is kinda cool to walk around during the day though.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Tommy is nothing but an entry in the encyclopedia of AU football to me. This is the new regime. Therefore they will receive all of my attention. And I went to school during the T'ville "glory years."

    ReplyDelete
  46. For those who wish to go beyond eating crayons:

    http://www.squidoo.com/crayoncollege#module3225792

Harrison, maybe you can get them to add a culinary section. I did see a quote about Linus making brownies out of crayons.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Listen here, you Murano drivin', sofa-buyin', lilly livered, recruitin' followin' so and so. I ain't a Bammer. I'm a Bammer hater. And remember my original nom de plume was Jet G. Ate. That's because my problem with Jet Gate is that they didn't finish the deal. If you sass me anymore, I'll have J-Z and Norm whup you. So there.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Anyone want a pair of Furman tickets? Section 60 Row 32 Seat 17 and 18, upper dizzeck.

  49. Anonymous4:33 PM

I just don't see Tubs at any top notch school. I'm not sure what kind of assistants he could attract. He would have to do the low HC salary--Higher asst coach salaries thingy similar to CGC and Kiffen in order to get some top folks. Don't see that happening either.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Anonymous4:39 PM

Speaking of Tubs, I've heard the exact same rumor about him from 2 completely different random folks regarding family/marital issues.

    ReplyDelete
  51. My Georgia fan boss is convinced Tubs will be the next DC at UGA. Crazy thinking there.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Anybody besides me think the College Pick'Em is hard this week? There aren't that many great match-ups, but the point spreads seem tricky.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Agreed Scott C. This week will seperate some.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Is it weird that I sometimes call my own play by play on my solitaire games in my head.

    ReplyDelete
  55. I don't know. Is it weird that I talk major trash to bugs after killing them?

    ReplyDelete
  56. Scott C,
I just fall a little further each week in the pick em. I started out so well, but I have stunk the last few weeks. This week's picks were a total guess.

  59. Dang... Missed the chat....

But on the plus side I was giving a presentation on HVAC system design.......

Wait, that's not a plus..... Thought I was going to put myself to sleep.....

  60. Saw on the chat where the Big 12 is considered a warm conference.

Uh, the Big 12 South maybe. Big 12 North...not so much. Boulder just got over a foot of snow last week. Just a matter of time before Lincoln, NE and Ames, IA see some snow. Doubt the Kansas schools and Missouri are a whole lot better.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Is this thing on?

    Mic check...

    ReplyDelete
  62. And as I recall, one of the coldest New Years Days I've ever gotten to be a part of was in Dallas 1986. Maybe that global warming thing has caught up over there though

    ReplyDelete
  63. I would think Texas is generally pretty mild with its climate, but I have seen a few cold Cotton Bowls in my day, but everywhere can be cold in January I guess except a handful of states.

    ReplyDelete
  64. I think North Texas is surprisingly cold.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Sorry I missed the chat today but I was rectangular at the dentist.

While I was there getting a new crown he replaced a couple of hundred year old silver colored fillings with the tooth colored stuff.

Now when I smile really big ALL my teeth are white...well as white as they can be at my age.

I feel like I had a "teeth lift" and I swear my teeth look 10 years younger.......too bad the rest of me doesn't.

  67. Good Evening and WDE to all the Hotties!

    ReplyDelete
  68. Evening Storm. WDE!

    ReplyDelete
  69. Dallas has wilder swings in temps than Atlanta - Seems like they get a hell of a lot of ice storms there - and brutal heat in the summer. We have an office there and I have had to spend some time during the summer..... Flat.... Treeless....HOT

    ReplyDelete
  70. Yeah, Dallas has never been appealing to me.

    Austin on the other hand...

Also hear nice things about San Antonio.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Officials and replay making a mess of ECU-Va. Tech.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Houston and Dallas. Ugh.

San Antonio good. Austin very good.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Houston and Dallas. Ugh.

San Antonio good. Austin very good.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Had a colleague come back into town this week from Dallas - he has been out there 9 years. He was giddy about seeing the "Leaves Change" and the hills. He said there it goes form green to brown on the trees there because of the soil. Also glad to see a "Pine" after so many years - they don't grow there......

    ReplyDelete
  75. How weird is it that for the first Thursday night game all year, Lou Holtz is calling a game that his son is coaching in?

    Coincidence? Probably.

    ReplyDelete
  76. What up hotties?

    ReplyDelete
  77. I lived out in Colorado up until a couple of weeks ago, and awesome as the Rockies are (though most people don't realize how flat and desolate Eastern Colorado is, which is almost half the state), the way the dry climate causes everything to stay brown 9 months out of the year isn't very nice.

    ReplyDelete
  78. FSJ, thoughts on Bama-LSU?

    ReplyDelete
  79. Anyone watching the VA Tech-ECU game?

That big skull at midfield is kinda creeping me out.

    ReplyDelete
  80. Yeah, Freep, I'm wondering if that was meant as some Halloween deal.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Freep,

My husband is in the family room watching the game and talking to himself. He is complaining to the referees of all things....about their officiating.

    Imagine that!!

    ReplyDelete
  82. I haven't seen the skull at midfield. I'm too busy admiring the map of NC

    ReplyDelete
  83. FSU new unis

    ReplyDelete
  84. E-Bro..

    I'm scared to death...

We HAVE to play better on offense.

Saban seemed pretty intense tonight on his call in show. Hopefully, that intensity carries over to the team.

    ReplyDelete
  85. missinit...

Complaining about the officials is a time honored tradition...

    jhag...

When a team starts changing uniforms that means they are losing, IMO.

    ReplyDelete
  86. I hadn't been watching, just pulled it up on ESPN360.com during that last TD drive by VPI. . .first thing I saw was the big skull.

Not as cool as Rutgers' old logo with the dagger, but definitely different.

    ReplyDelete
  87. Whatever works though I guess

    ReplyDelete
  88. The shooter at Fort Hood, TX name was of course Malik Nadal Hasan...and he went to Virginia Tech

    ReplyDelete
  89. crap I just missed that catch.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Iowa grossly overrated in BCS. TCU and probably Boise are underrated. Go Horned Frogs!!!

    ReplyDelete
  91. How is Virginia Tech still ranked?

THT, definitely agree on TCU. Don't think they get enough credit. I honestly think they could play with, and even beat either Texas, Florida, or Bama. They're salty on defense and got athletes on both sides of the ball.

    ReplyDelete
  92. FSJ...

I think it will be a tight game, but I think LSU's offensive renaissance in recent weeks has been blown out of proportion. Aside from one big play from Shephard, we shut down their running game pretty well.

LSU has the athletes at Receiver to burn any defense, but they haven't done it consistently.

Their defense is legit, though, and should keep them in the game. Think it might be low scoring like UT-Bama a couple of weeks ago, but Bama prevails by a touchdown or so.

    ReplyDelete
  93. Jet,

The funny thing about hubby is that he could care less about who wins against VT and ECU. He grew up a GA Tech fan but converted to Auburn when wooing me.

...but he is an ole retired football coach

.....guess he is just "staying in practice"!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  94. MrsTHT is trying to teach our 16 yr old dachshund to say "we hate bama." And she's telling Molly to bite bama fans.

    I love MrsTHT.

    ReplyDelete
  95. BTW, they'll both be asleep in about 3 minutes

    ReplyDelete
  96. Nice chat today guys. These seem to be the most relevant keywords:

    martini
    Keystone Light
    Beale Street
    chronic
    Tweek
    Chong
    black magic
    Johnny Cash

    Once again, very well done.

    ReplyDelete
  97. I would never bite an Auburn fan...

    ReplyDelete
  98. I swear I'm losing it

.....head was thinking Faker, fingers typed Jet.

Maybe the dentist screwed up my brain while working in my mouth!!!

    ReplyDelete
  99. Hubby says we run the table the rest of the season. Predicting the perfect storm for the bama game. He thinks bama comes to JH undefeated just like in 1989 and we beat them. Nice to dream...

    ReplyDelete
  100. I hate I missed the chat today. Ran tons of errands in preparation for leaving for Auburn in the morning!!

    ReplyDelete
  101. Cincy, I certainly believe we have more of a chance than everyone gives us right. We'll know a lot more after the next couple of weeks, though.

At this point, Bama is ceratinly a clear favorite, but plenty of worse teams than the 2009 Auburn Tigers have beaten better teams than the 2009 Alabama Crimson Tide.

    Just sayin'...

    ReplyDelete
  102. don't worry, FSJ. Molly wouldn't be able to see you well enough to know you're a bammer, and she doesn't have enough teeth left to bite worth a darn.

    ReplyDelete
  103. Let's beat Furman and Georgia first, though.

    ReplyDelete
  104. Anyone going to come see me this weekend? We'll have breakfast about 10 am and then grilling out chicken after the game.

    ReplyDelete
  105. it's ok missinit..

    I answer to all names.

    ReplyDelete
  106. cincy,

That doesn't sound like a dream I want to have..

Nightmare is more like it.... :-P

    ReplyDelete
  107. FSJ,
One woman's dream is another man's nightmare :-)

    ReplyDelete
  108. Isn't that dream called marriage cincy?

    ReplyDelete
  109. wake,
I hope your wife doesn't read that! My husband thinks he's in a never ending wonderful dream. Or at least that's what he says.

    ReplyDelete
  110. Ok Wake..that made me laugh.

    ReplyDelete
  111. Question for the older, wiser generation?

How come Alabama is listed as SEC Champion alone in 1972?

    ReplyDelete
  112. I've eaten at B's Barbecue. It was real good.

    ReplyDelete
  113. Because they always played 1 more conference game than anyone else just for that reason.

    ReplyDelete
  114. EBro ...

UAT voluntarily played a 7th conference game -- Ole Miss -- while everyone else played 6.

    ReplyDelete
  115. Cincy- I have an event at the ZETA chapter room at 10:00am. Hoping to duck out by 11:00 and head your way. Will anyone be there @ 11:15?

    ReplyDelete
  116. Could you imagine having a meal with Lou Holtz? It would be like having lunch with J-Z.

    ReplyDelete
  117. Of course, the extra conference game was always Vandy. UA-T used to rarely ever play UF and UGa, teams AU played every year.

    ReplyDelete
  118. Cincy ...

    Where is the CincyDome located?

    ReplyDelete
  119. Jet-I read your response from my earlier post. We can settle this Saturday, loser shave his head, at Cincy's place.

    ReplyDelete
  120. They were right about B's Barbecue. They don't have set hours, when the 3 hogs are gone, lunch is over.

    ReplyDelete
  121. Eddie-Ready for Friday 9:30 to get here. Think everything is well for AU, but ready to get this one behind us.

    ReplyDelete
  122. To me that's the way a BBQ joint should be..

None of this holding meat all day crap..

Cook it all up..when its gone close the doors.

    ReplyDelete
  123. Thanks for the feedback, guys. Didn't know that. Now I do.

    ReplyDelete
  124. btw, I'll let UA-T have the SEC championship every year we beat them. I just want the state championship.

    ReplyDelete
  125. We are in Brown Crest, right across the street from Lowder. If you are standing in front of Lowder and looking across Magnolia at Brown Crest, we are the first floor condo on the far left. We'll probably leave for the game around 11:30 am. There is a gate that you come through from Magnolia to our condo. The code is 5241. I'll probably delete this post in awhile, so write it down :) They probably wouldn't appreciate me posting the code.

    ReplyDelete
  126. Thats ok cincy..

    I've posted it on Tiderinsider.

    Just kidding.

    ReplyDelete
  127. FSJ - what's your take on the Android phone?

    ReplyDelete
  128. wtc,
You really feel good about Dyer tomorrow? You don't think he would do all this and then commit somewhere else do you? I know it is non-binding, but I will be glad when he finally announces (if it is for AU)

    ReplyDelete
  129. You talking about the new Motorola one running the Android OS on the Verizon network?

    ReplyDelete
  130. cincy,

    Don't worry..He's AU's.

    ReplyDelete
  131. I won't get to listen - I will be at the eye doctor in Alex City, on my way to the Promised Land.

    FSJ, hope you're right.

    ReplyDelete
  132. CIncy-I feel good about it. He took his official visit to UT last weekend. They think they made a big push, but I feel he is coming to AU. I do not feel he will go anywhere else after he commits even though he says he will still visit schools.

    ReplyDelete
  133. THT...

I'm sure it will be nice..

I'm not big on the side slide out keyboards though.

I have phone commitment issues though. I'd hate to go thru the number of cell phones I've had in the past ten years.

I'm on my third iPhone in three years. That's the longest I have had the same phone...

I've had Treo's, blackberry's, Razrs, even test drove the Palm Pre'....and I think the iPhone is the best overall device. Granted, AT&T's coverage is crap compared to Verizon, but they have better phones.

My all time favorite phone I've ever had though is the Motorola Startac which was the first "cool" flip phone on the market. I loved that thing. That's been years ago though.

    ReplyDelete
  134. WTC ...

From your appearance, it looks like you've already surrendered.

    ReplyDelete
  135. This might interest people who follow recruiting. Not you, WTC.

    http://today.sportingnews.com/sportingnewstoday/20091105?pg=4&sub_id=aXm80qOamKqF#pg4

    ReplyDelete
  136. I'm so glad wtc doesn't get caught up in recruiting

    ReplyDelete
  137. Thanks, FSJ. I would love to have an iPhone, but those "we've got a map for that" commercials are pretty scary in reference to AT&T coverage. Of course, for the entire 2nd year of our VZ contract we've had no coverage at our house, same as our AT&T next door neighbor (that was why I switched from AT&T to Alltel then VZ years ago). I still have no idea why we lost VZ signal about the same time as the Alltel/VZ merger.

    ReplyDelete
  138. They probably switched the towers you were using with the merger. When Cingular bought AT&T Wireless the same thing happened to me.

Ironically, AT&T is suing Verizon over that ad you mentioned for being "deceptive" in nature.

    I think it is funny.

    ReplyDelete
  139. Cincy-If I did follow it, I would have my own site. My wife wants me to work though so she can run back and forth to AU 3x a week.

    ReplyDelete
  140. Lou Holtz, after a good ECU defensive play, "Mark, ECU is very, very well coached."

No conflict of interest there, I'm sure. In fact, he probably said the same thing while ECU was piling up a zillion penalty yards.

    ReplyDelete
  141. wtc,
Your wife is my kind of woman.

    ReplyDelete
  142. I asked Scott today if he could design us a HABOTN flag that we could post at our tailgate sites. Then we could find each other a little easier than yelling Hottie HOOOOO

    ReplyDelete
  143. FSJ-I had bought an iphone and kept it 30 days and turned it back in. Went back to my Razr phone. Too many 'no signal' messages in some of the rural areas I go to. It has great stuff on it in town though.

Was thinking of getting a blackberry but have held up on it. I was with Alltel also and now with VZ. My phone hasn't dropped a call in a couple of years. been with Alltel for 9 years.

    ReplyDelete
  144. Only if he can do one in Crimson for me...

    ReplyDelete
  145. I think that's a great idea Cincy...

    ReplyDelete
  146. If I were with Verizon..I'd have the blackberry tour.

    That is a nice phone.

    ReplyDelete
  147. Cincy-My goal in life is to retire and live the lifestyle my wife and daughter live.

    ReplyDelete
  148. Anybody going to have a birthday cake on hand for Sat. Someone I know has a b'day this weekend.

    ReplyDelete
  149. Kritina-where have you been?

    ReplyDelete
  150. I'm never far away WTC....

    ReplyDelete
  151. wtc,
Funny, that is what my husband says. My goal in life is never to work again. I LOVE being a kept woman. And I make it very well worth hubby's time.

    ReplyDelete
  152. OK, that sounded a bit stalkerish so I will say that I have been reading just not posting.

I go through stages. What can I say, I'm a woman. We're prone to mood swings.

    ReplyDelete
  153. I think we are having a birthday cake this weekend. My Tylerson will be 23 on Nov 17. That is making me sound old.

    ReplyDelete
  154. OK, I'm watching ECU-Va. Tech play mediocre football with absolute mediocrity, and to add inthult to injuryth, I'm having to listhen to Lou Holtzh, too.

    Arrghhh.

    ReplyDelete
  155. FSJ, I had a Startac also. It was by far my favorite phone I've ever had. It was small for its time, and it was indestructible, it lasted me years. It was dropped in the Gulf twice and off the roof once, and kept on ticking.

The phone I have now is the best I've had since, its the moto adventure v750. Doesn't do any cool tricks, but I have failed so far to make it succumb to my abuse. It is the longest I've managed to keep a phone since the Startac, 8 months and counting.

    I'm kinda hard on phones.

    ReplyDelete
  156. I am the Mario Fannin of Blackberry users ... it's hitting the ground every game.

    ReplyDelete
  157. it is mediocre, but not nearly as awful as UCF and Marshall a few days back. Besides, the football is secondary when there's such a gorgeous map on the field.

    ReplyDelete
  158. Jet is the reason the term "Crackberry" was coined.

    ReplyDelete
  159. that was yet another terrible call. Officials are just bad nowadays. That was not even close to being a block in the back.

    ReplyDelete
  160. Kristina ...

    I am ... hurt.

    ReplyDelete
  161. Yes Jet, I am sure you will update your FB status from your phone on just how hurt you are ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  162. poor ECU QB didn't get any help from his receivers and not much from his OL tonight.

    ReplyDelete
  163. I don't even have it with me.

    ReplyDelete
  164. My niece is a Pirate, I'm sure she is disappointed.

    ReplyDelete
  165. Good night, Hotties. Auburn tomorrow!!

    ReplyDelete
  166. FSJ,

Re: your uniform chang philosophy. Oregon's changed every week since Boise State and hasn't lost one since. Granted, they've looked like fools doing it (except the throwback- that was the best thing they've put on in a decade. The lids screamed awesome), but they're winning...and Notre Dame has done some great things in green.

    ReplyDelete
  167. Time for me to wake Molly dog and take her out one last time for today.

    Sweet dreams, Hotties!!!

    WARRRRRRRR EAGLE!!!

    GO TIGERS!!!

    ReplyDelete
  168. Everybody be sure to send happy birthday wishes to Coach Dye on his 70th tomorrow.

    ReplyDelete

My first phone was in a bag.

  173. My Mom had a Dynatac, I remember being little and seeing her antennae sticking out of her purse everywhere she went... And she had a huge purse.

I got my Startac in 02, yeah I was a little behind in technology at that point but that thing still kicked ass.

  174. dang, WTC, that's past mid-life crisis age. Forget re-living your youth, now doing crazy stuff is just making the most of the time you've got left.

  176. Yeah Peter, my sister told me tonight that I was middle aged. I asked how many people she knew that were 96.
I am past middle aged but feel better than when i was in my early 30's.

  177. Happy early birthday wtc.

  178. Interesting comment, wtc. Just turned 49 myself, and I can honestly say that I don't feel any physically older than I was in my late 20s.

Could stand to be in better shape, perhaps, but I've yet to feel what my Dad calls 'old age creeping up in the rear'. No aches and pains, plenty of energy, etc.

I do have the graying hair and the declining eyesight, though.

  179. To tell the truth, I would've never guessed it. You look closer in age to me than my dad, even if you aren't.

    ReplyDelete
  180. Thanks Peter-I try to stay in some kind of shape just so I don't 'feel my age' any time soon.

It is also good to just shave the gray out of your hair. Your do may be short but you never have a bad hair day.

  181. Well for what it's worth, that old bag phone I had in the 90's still.... to this day.... got better reception than any phone I've had since!

  182. If I shaved the gray out there would be nothing left. Not ready for that extreme yet.

Happy B'day, BTW! To you and Coach Dye!

  183. Thanks Freep.

  185. Good morning, Hotties and TGIF!!!

Have any of you heard this Tubs rumor: Tubs to UCF. My partner is in sales and one of her customers lives in the Orlando area. She had heard a rumor about Tubs to UCF, so she called him and he said that he had meant to call her a few weeks ago about an article in the Orlando Sentinel. I just did a search and here is the article:

    Tubs Interested in UCF?

  186. Well, apparently, the link doesn't work. Curses!

  187. If you do find the article, I love the comment by KingCynic!
