Bowling never felt so ... unclear

Hey everyone. I have returned from a post-Iron sabbatical of sorts. Thanks for sticking with the HABOTN for at least a portion of your Auburn jones.

So where will Auburn be playing this holiday season?

I have no idea. We usually have a feel for this sort of thing by now. The Southeastern Conference had six teams finish the regular season at 7-5. That makes things difficult on working stiffs like us. The bowls have their behind-the-scenes deals going, but they don't like discussing that publicly unless a car battery and jumper cables are involved.

So we'll just formulate our own truth.

FIRST VERSION
BCS Title Game: Alabama/Florida
BCS Game: Alabama/Florida
Capital One Bowl: LSU
Cotton Bowl: Tennessee
Outback Bowl: Georgia
Chick-fil-A Bowl: Ole Miss
Music City Bowl: Kentucky
Liberty Bowl: Arkansas
Independence Bowl: Auburn
Papajohns.com Bowl: South Carolina

SECOND VERSION (released @ 12:25 p.m.)
BCS Title Game: Alabama/Florida
BCS Game: Alabama/Florida
Capital One Bowl: LSU
Cotton Bowl: Ole Miss
Outback Bowl: Auburn
Chick-fil-A Bowl: Tennessee
Music City Bowl: Georgia
Liberty Bowl: Arkansas
Independence Bowl: South Carolina
Papajohns.com Bowl: Kentucky

What do you think about that?

OF NOTE: Auburn's offense, its apparent revival and its work against Alabama last week has created a buzz that is difficult to quantify. Some bowls may find that supremely alluring. Others may not care.

It feels good ... to know that you're by my side.

    It feels good ...

  2. PF, no. None of the Hotties want Auburn to go to Shreveport, so that's probably where they'll end up.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Tony Toni Toné has done it again.

    ReplyDelete
  4. i'll be there for you....

    ReplyDelete
  5. Shreveport is probably the only one I can't make...that's surely the one we'll end up going to...

    ReplyDelete
  6. Personally, I'd like to see Auburn in Atlanta. Easy commute. Nice hotel. I can take my XBox. Perfect.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Why would Ol' Mess get to go to the Cap. One bowl?????

    ReplyDelete
  8. Well played scottie, well played.

    ReplyDelete
  9. I wanted to go my entire career without a trip to Shreveport.

The SEC/Shreveport relationship ends after this season.

I can feel the pimp hand of destiny raring back for a slap.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Yeah, Atlanta is my choice also--30 minutes from the house!!! Only way that happens is if Tech loses. I don't think they'd go with a Tech/UGAy rematch.

    Nashville is a close 2nd.

I'd rather drop to the Pizza Bowl than the Independence...

    ReplyDelete
  11. If it's not Atlanta, I won't be making a bowl trip this year. But please, y'all go. Really. I want you to. Don't stay home on my behalf. I'll be fine.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Oh.

Hater G, how was the furries convention?

    ReplyDelete
  13. Darn. I forgot about Miss State beating Ole Miss.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Shreveport smells funny.

    ReplyDelete
  15. I remember the blizzard in Shreveport when Miss St. played. They wore all white, including helmets, and you almost couldn't see them against the white field.
Like Boise St in negative film.

    ReplyDelete
  16. I won't be going to any bowls this year regardless.

Do they give away weedeaters at the Shreveport bowl?

    ReplyDelete
  17. I made a few changes.

I doubt the Cotton wants Ole Miss for a second consecutive season. Auburn has allure because of its offense and the way it played against Alabama ... so maybe I'm wrong.

    I wouldn't be upset.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Not only did Ole Miss lose to State, they have 2 wins against D2 opponents and I thought only one of those should count towards their bowl records. Wouldn't that make the 7-4 as far as bowling is concerned?

    ReplyDelete
  19. JD, not so much. Their record is what it is. That only matters towards eligibility.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Is 7-4 better than 7-5?

    ReplyDelete
  21. I'd be surprised if Kentucky went to the Music City Bowl. I think USC win over Clemson gets them the nod, but I can buy the rest.

    ReplyDelete
  22. We'd bring a better crowd and a better team to Atl than Ole Miss. Somebody get me Truett Cathy on the phone, I've got a pitch to make.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Shreveport is the only bowl I probably can't make.

Which means that's where Auburn will end up.

    ReplyDelete
  24. If the teams have the same record, the bowls truly have their pick. There's no obligation.

So I'm sure they're all talking and negotiating and hashing it out on the telephone line.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Auburn's travel reputation is ... perhaps a tick above average.

    It's not beyond that.

Traveling matters this time of year.

    ReplyDelete
  26. If it helps make a decision based on travel potential, I'm not going to a bowl west of the longitude Alabama-Mississippi state line or south of the 31st parallel (Alabama-Florida stateline).

    Does this help?

    ReplyDelete
  27. I would rank the teams as follows...

UT, UGAy, and OM would get the inital nod due to 4-4 confrence records.

    of the next tier:
    S Carolina
    Auburn
    Arky
    UK

    ReplyDelete
  28. Gaining the Gator Bowl and losing the Independence Bowl is like stealing. It shouldn't be legal.

    ReplyDelete
  29. It's about time! Hope you enjoyed your time off, we all need that.
I keep hoping for the Music City Bowl I haven't made that Bowl and would really like to go there. I said yesterday that Shreveport is out but I may change my mind on that.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Agreed, Eddie. Gaining the Gator Bowl and losing Independence is like trading that 72 Pinto for a brand new Sonata...

    ReplyDelete
  31. Shreveport- Never hope to travel there again. DUMP, especially being stuck there for almost a week.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Sonata? Isn't that on par with a Murano?

    ReplyDelete
  33. What Bowl games as everyone been too?

    As for Me:

    Peach / Chick-Fil-A- 5 Times
    Music City- Once
    Independence- Once
    Citrus / Capital One- Twice
    Sugar- Once

    That's my list.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I don't know how the
SEC lost the Gator bowl to start with. I went to my first Bowl there in 1954 Auburn vs Texas Tech. enjoyed the trip but not the game. TT 35 AU 14

    ReplyDelete
  35. I wouldn't quite put the Gator Bowl on par with Nisssan. I was initally thinking equating it with a carolla but due to the long time relationship with the Gator Bowl and Toyota.

    ReplyDelete
  36. My best friend bought a Murano. Why, I'll never understand. They needed space and got none, but hey, he loves the blue tooth feature.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Music City- Three times, once for Auburn
    Sugar- Once
    Chick-Fil-A- Once

    ReplyDelete
  38. PF - only WTC can really answer that question.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Sugar, Citrus, Hall of Fame, Peach, and Gator.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Peach 1 time
    Sugar 2 times
    Orange 1 time
    Capital 1 time
    Music City 1 time
    GMAC Mobile 1 time
    Blue Gray Game 6 times

    ReplyDelete
  41. Personally, I'm hoping for Music City, I get dibs on my seats I have for the Titans games.

    ReplyDelete
  42. JD- I say a Toyota Camry is appropriate. Nothing sleek or stylish, but you ride in comfort.

    ReplyDelete
  43. It's bigger than a Corolla. Maybe Camry. Nice, dependable, spacy, recognizeable, but nothing really oustanding or flashy.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Some reports have ole miss going to the cotton again. Per this dude:
Report: Ole Miss to Cotton Bowl
By Jon Solomon -- The Birmingham News
    November 30, 2009, 3:34PM

    ReplyDelete
  45. I have sad duty. I am on my way to visit investigators at the scene of the Hotel Talisi fire. Although a 17 year old has confessed and as in jail, the case still must be built.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Ok, rumor mill gossip has Auburn headed to the Outback Bowl because they do not want Tennessee due to having them several times already...That would be a monkey wrench into everyone's scenario's.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Okay I will restate...

The SEC dropping the Independence Bowl for the Gator Bowl is like trading in a 72 Pinto for a brand new Camry straight up .

    ReplyDelete
  48. Tampa??? That works for me!

    ReplyDelete
  49. Sugar - twice
    Liberty - once
    Cotton - Once
    Citrus - Once

    ReplyDelete
  50. Theory question only...Would playing in the new Dallas Stadium make any of you travel to the cotton bowl.

    ReplyDelete
  51. If it were the outback, did they say who we might play?

    ReplyDelete
  52. Penn State or Iowa. I hope it's Iowa.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I've never been to a bowl game. If it's in Shreveport, my record will remain the same. I did go to the SECCG in 2004, though, and had a blast.

    ReplyDelete
  54. I got free tickets to the 2004 SECCG. It was awesome. I attended every game that year.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Will there be a naked Jan Terri at the Outback bowl?

    ReplyDelete
  56. Chick-fil-A/Peach-AU 3 times, LSU once, MSU once, UGA once. so, 6 times.

    Music City-twice.

    Citrus Bowl-once.

does the Senior Bowl count? been there 7-8 times. :)

    ReplyDelete
  57. That'd be tough not to try and do Eddie. Just a matter of cost to get there, and how much Jerrah would charge for the tickets. But you know they're going to try and get two teams that would get that stadium filled close to capacity. Not sure if that would leave us out of that race.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Oh, goodness...the thought of an Outback Bowl and Penn St. makes me nautious

    ReplyDelete
  59. Sugar 3
    Tang./Citrus 2
    Outback 1
    Peach 1

    ReplyDelete
  60. Ok, several Tennessee people are now claiming Outback Bowl has secured Auburn and left UT out in the cold...this could be interesting.

    ReplyDelete
  61. If we go to the Outback...I just might have to go and stop by Disney :)!

    ReplyDelete
  62. Most of the projections I have seen are Au to Independence... Though I have seen Cotton, Outback, Peach & even Capital One on somes list.

I've also seen Papa John's Dump on the list. I say we vote No and just not go bowling if that is the only choice we have.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Yeah I think I'd like to take the trip to Florida, too.

    ReplyDelete
  64. UT folks up here think they're going to the Outback.

    ReplyDelete
  65. I would agree on sustaining from the Pizza Bowl but Auburn would not do that because of the extra practice time and $$ Not a lot but $$

    ReplyDelete
  66. I was in school when we played Penn St in Outback. We drove down, overpaid for tickets, got soaking wet and had a miserable time.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Anonymous9:04 AM

    Sugah -2
    Citrus-1
    Peach-2
    SECCG-2

    2 bowls when I was a kid(Bammer), which don't count now.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Scottie- They were, this is just now breaking. I think there is some seriousness behind this rumor, trying to check into it, but UT Rivals site is the one spreading it.

    ReplyDelete
  69. i would love nothing more than to beat UT AGAIN this year....to swipe the bowl game that they thought was surely theirs. hehehehehe.

    ReplyDelete
  70. If true, UT could fall from Outback to Music City Bowl. Chick-Fil-a bowl seems to be interested in elsewhere.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Sugar vs. Syracuse
    Sugar vs. FSU
    Citrus (Captiol One) vs. Michigan

    ReplyDelete
  72. Knox newspaper has been talking about the Outback the past couple days.

oh, that would be nice. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  73. Ok, Bryan Mathews of Rivals just posted that Auburn and Outback Bowl look to be in serious talks right now.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Eddie with the breaking news!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  75. I would attend the Music City Bowl or the Liberty Bowl and maybe the Peach Bowl... which means we will for sure be in Shrevport.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Just call him "Scoop"

    ReplyDelete
  77. I'm getting excited for the Outback bowl. I'm not sure if I could make the 30 minutes trip or not... thats a long way.

    ReplyDelete
  78. I'm not scooping, i'm just reading Tea Leafs :).

Anyways, this is got very interesting all of the sudden. I expect something to break sooner rather than later. We shall see, but signs now point to Tampa instead of Shreveport....which would make my list of games to attend.

    ReplyDelete
  79. 11 hrs to Tampa sounds like a much easier drive than 11 hrs to Shreveport for me. :)

    ReplyDelete
  80. and not to be out-done...DARVIN ADAMS!

    ReplyDelete
  81. Bowl season is a lot more fun when you're actually in a bowl game.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Top notch sub for THT Go Scottie

    ReplyDelete
  83. i do what i can digger. :)

    ReplyDelete
  84. This time last year we were on the Tub death-watch. I much prefer debating bowl destinations.

    ReplyDelete
  85. Outback Bowl would be great. are the tickets on sale yet?

    ReplyDelete
  86. Let me tell you what I KNOW as a fact.. to be TRUE... no way you can prove it wrong...

I have no power on where we go SO

we go where we GO and thats better than sitting at home.

(fromt he teams perspective as I do not go to Shreveport, you think Korea is backwards...)

    ReplyDelete
  87. Apparently Auburn and Outback are on conference call right now. I think we know something soon.

    ReplyDelete
  88. They won't announce till Sunday either right right?

    ReplyDelete
  89. We'll know something prior to the "official" announcement.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Right at the top of my list on bowls I attended was the 1982 Tangerine Bowl with Au playing Boston College. It was the first bowl for Auburn in years. I had a superlative time - probably more than I should have had....

    ReplyDelete
  91. Anybody who wasn't here for lasts nights late announcement needs to click on my avatar... you won't be disappointed.

    ReplyDelete
  92. Yes, tickets can be purchased.

    ReplyDelete
  93. Faker must have been on the Hard Stuff last night.

    ReplyDelete
  94. We don't turn down bowl invites, but I am excited that Tampa is looking good. I can't go that far, but I'd be plenty happy with it.

    ReplyDelete
  95. Actually, I don't believe the Outback Bowl has to wait if all the other bowls have passed on us meaning the Capitol One and Cotton. I could be wrong, but I believe they can announce their matchup. Also, think about it, if they can, they get more press by announcing it before Sunday than on Sunday when the majority of the Bowls are announced.

    ReplyDelete
  96. I am gonna catch a ride with Carlos Dunlap to Tampa

    ReplyDelete
  97. I'm tired of people downing Shreveport. According to their city tourism site, Shreveport is the next great city of the South. Why would you all say such things about the next great city of the south?!?

    ReplyDelete
  98. who's driving Harrison? you are Carlos?

    ReplyDelete
  99. Harrison- That should be a busch Gardens attraction in itself.

Actually, I think they may have to wait till Sunday to make it official should for some reason Alabama or Florida fall out of BCS Bowl game...which is not going to happen.

    ReplyDelete
  100. Carlos dunlap drives, he's an excellent driver

    ReplyDelete
  101. especially before 5am, eh?

    ReplyDelete
  102. Looks to me like they can't really decide until Saturday. Everything hinges on the Atlanta game, and they can't make a decision until they know if they have GaTech or Clemson. Unless they are passing over GA; then I guess they could go ahead.

    ReplyDelete
  103. Outback chooses before the Peach Coosa.

    ReplyDelete
  104. Ah, guess I am wrong. Outback is fine with me, but the only would I would go to would be the pizza. I would drive an hour to see this team play again, but not 10 hours.

    ReplyDelete
  105. The Chick-Fil-A bowl has nothing to do with the Outback Bowl. The Outback Bowl has a higher seeding and gets to pick before the Chick-Fil-A Bowl. Also, I noticed that an UT article last night said the Outback Bowl announcement could be made official today, so I guess it is possible to make the announcement early.

Also, rumors have UT falling to either Music City or Liberty Bowl. Ouch.

    ReplyDelete
  106. only ONE, not would.

    ReplyDelete
  107. The outback would have to consult with the Cotton bowl before they could take any West team, I don't see that being a problem.

    ReplyDelete
  108. Anyone want to play Wisconsin again?

    ReplyDelete
  109. As someone who was at the Capital One game in 05 I say NOOOOOO

    ReplyDelete
  110. I love beating up Big Ten punks.

    ReplyDelete
  111. We beat 'em in the Music City no prob.

    ReplyDelete
  112. I don't know about his driving skills, but I hear he can sleep anywhere. Including behind the wheel of a running car in a parking lot.

    ReplyDelete
  113. Anonymous9:53 AM

The only problem with a Big 11 team is that I worry about our D wearing down while pushing the big bodies for an entire game. On the other hand, our offense would probably get so far ahead early in the game that it wouldn't matter.

    ReplyDelete
  114. I'd be OOOOKKKKK with the Outback.

    ReplyDelete
  115. Anonymous9:56 AM

Music City works out perfectly for some family plans, but the Outback would be huge for this team and coaching staff.

Priorities: self? ..or ...good of the team?

    ReplyDelete
  116. Anonymous9:57 AM

JG ...that trip could include wifey and the little ones. Lots to do down there.

    ReplyDelete
  117. I'm not sure if it can happen but if Auburn gets matched up with Ioway, it could make for a REAL interesting day for all of blogger Tate's friends in the upper midwest.

    ReplyDelete
  118. For Jay G's sake, I hope the weather is beautiful at the Outback bowl and the day before. 78 degrees and not a cloud in the sky for central and north Florida....okay, it has nothing to do with Jay G, but if it happens, it came from my well wishes.

    ReplyDelete
  119. word in Mississippi is that the Nutts are going to play the Cotton Bowl.

    ReplyDelete
  120. What a match.. The Maize suckers agaist the Jay Eagles.

    ReplyDelete
  121. Please no Weedeater bowl.

    To answer Eddie's question.

    I've been to

    1 Sugar Bowl
    4 Peach/Chicken Bowls
    1 Outback Bowl
    2 Cap One Bowls
    1 Music City Bowl

    ReplyDelete
  122. Outback still looking good. UT fans are really starting to vent.

    ReplyDelete
  123. Sugar (bunches), Citrus, Cap.One, Peach, Chicfila,Music City, BlueGray (been to Rose bowl when lived out there but not for a game)
Would love to go to Outback and would definitely go to Cotton in the new stadium (last time was too early and too cold)

    ReplyDelete
  124. yup, my UT co-worker has already let me have it regarding the Outback bowl.

crying like a baby. love it.

    ReplyDelete
  125. Why are they upset? We beat them remember.

    ReplyDelete
  126. Did anyone see Kiffin's comments after the game saturday?

They are still Kentucky and we are still Tennessee. It sure didn't look like it for most of that game.

    ReplyDelete
  127. Yeah, I can understand UT's frustration. I mean, we both went 7-5 and Auburn beat them in Knoxville.

Where's the logic in the Outback Bowl picking us?

    Oh wait.

    ReplyDelete
  128. Forgot about the Gator....I thought I would like to go back if they have upgraded.
I Would definitely go to the OUTBACK!!

    ReplyDelete
  129. Should we have told UT after we beat them that we're still Auburn and they're still Tennessee.

    What's that, 5 in a row now?

    ReplyDelete
  130. Brent Hubbs of Vol Quest says the Outback has confirmed Auburn is in the Outback bowl over TN since the Vols have been to the outback 3 times in very recent years.

Cotton wanted UT, but the Cotton would not do a Ole Miss for UT swap.

That would be fun. If that is the case, the hotties need to hit Bern's Steakhouse in Tampa.

    ReplyDelete
  131. So D&B now reporting that Auburn is going to Outback....Hmm.

    ReplyDelete
  132. Went to Tampa/St. Pete for my honeymoon 3+ years ago. My wife and I were poor when we were starting out. Bern's was the highlight of the trip. At least it was the one that is suitable to mention in proper company.

    ReplyDelete
  133. Let's go Outback tonight...

  137. I doubt your fiance would feel Mons Venus would be appropriate... but if she does more power to you.

    ReplyDelete
  138. Cotton Bowl looks to be locked in at Ole Miss vs Oklahoma State according to ESPN.

    ReplyDelete
  139. Yeah, this is much more fun than what we were doing last year at this time

    ReplyDelete
  140. saw that Eddie...good game!

I'm seeing a lot about the Outback choosing AU also. Couple bigger UT beats say the UT AD has confirmed it...???

    ReplyDelete
  141. Any word on possible opponent?

    ReplyDelete
  142. that was one of the links I was reading Eddie...they hit the Cotton on the head...seems legit.

Evan Woodbury on al.com has this to say:

    ReplyDelete
  143. Evan also posted the Ole Miss to Cotton deal an hour ago...

It's a historic landmark. It'd be rude of me to go to Tampa and not see it.

    ReplyDelete
  146. oooooh...I'd like to trample Iowa!

    ReplyDelete
  147. Outback tickets range for $99.00 to $500 per.

    ReplyDelete
  148. i'm seeing a Knoxville-Tallahassee-Tampa New Year's weekend in my future.

    sweetness. please-please-please!

    ReplyDelete
  149. Outback would be awesome!

Glad some Hotties know about Bern's. That is an experience not be missed. I went there when we went to the Capital One Bowl last time (we were staying in Tampa).

    My bowl history:

    Sugar 4 times
    Cotton 1 time
    Capital One 1 time
    Music City 1 time

Funny that people mentioned Blue-Gray, but I did attend that a couple of times.

    ReplyDelete
  150. Feels good to have some good news around the program in offseason for a change, doesn't it?

    ReplyDelete
  151. stupup- Agreed. Very nice change.

    ReplyDelete
  152. Eddie, if you worked for TMZ i bet we'd have the scoop on Tiger Woods by now! ;)

    ReplyDelete
  153. Is it mandatory that we play Wisconsin in Big 10+1 matchups? it must be

    ReplyDelete
  154. Nice job, Eddie. I'd rather AU play Iowa or PSU, than Wisconsin, though.

    ReplyDelete
  155. Yeah man...I'm all over it.

Tiger Woods is pretty easy to see what happened, now why it happened, that's the question. Wife thinks Husband is cheating, claws him and scares him off and busts out a window with a rarely used 2-iron distracting Woods who then hits a fire hydrant and tree. Before cops get there, she threatens to show Tiger her golf swing on his forehead if he doesn't play dumb and act like it wasn't his fault. :)

Actually, I hope that the Tiger Woods thing is not what everybody thinks it is. I really really like the guy. He is one of my heroes and I was lucky to get to spend a week getting to know him. Great guy.

    ReplyDelete
  156. I have read that Auburn is likely in the running for 3 bowls: Music City, Independence, & Pizza. From what I have read the most likely may be the Pizza Bowl. That is about as exciting as...wait, that isn't exciting at all. But I also seen someone theorize we could play Notre Dame in the pizza bowl, which would make it a bit more interesting.

    ReplyDelete
  157. Steve must have just woken up

    ReplyDelete
  158. You guys are right. It's almost like Eddie should start a blog and call it the Auburn Football Insider. He could then post stuff there frequently and keep us all updated on all things Auburn football.

    Wait...

    ReplyDelete
  159. Steve- You are reading yesterday's news my friend.

    ReplyDelete
  160. Yeah...that blog thing is hard to do when you put all your thoughts on here for the most part.

    ReplyDelete
  161. Steve, that was extremely possible prior to this morning...this Outback deal has legs though. The Outback is a nice surprise if/when we get a confirmation. Outback Bowl is saying on their Facebook site that they will announce something today--that lends even more credence to the sudden surge in rumors today about AU being the pick.

I have to think there's too much smoke to be no fire.

    ReplyDelete
  162. Anonymous11:54 AM

Hope Auburn does get the Outback invite.

Also order the bloomin onion when you go..

    ReplyDelete
  163. Anonymous11:55 AM

    So...what's the guess here?

Dunlap to play or not Saturday?

    I think he plays.

    ReplyDelete
  164. What all do we know about the incident Faker?

I thought I read somewhere that he wasn't even driving when the police found him.

If that's the case, I think he might still get suspended for a quarter or a half for violation of curfew.

    ReplyDelete
  165. Y'all know a damn fine coach that probably doesn't get near the credit he deserves?

Mike Riley. Overcoming the Bama stigma and all.

    ReplyDelete
  166. Anonymous12:03 PM

    He wasn't driving....technically.

He was passed out at an intersection behind the wheel of the car in drive and his foot on the brake.

Cops saw him not move from the intersection for two or three consecutive light changes before they approached the car according to what was reported by an Sports Illustrated guy on the OD this morning.

  167. Kind of like a guy choking his girlfriend and the girls dad yelling Roll Tide.

Urban Meyer / Nick Saban...two peas in a pod. The guy probably won't miss any game time.

Mike Riley would be the Bama coach right now if it weren't for is wife.

He accepted the job when Fran bolted but turned it down after his wife decided she didn't want to move away from the West Coast.

  169. Meyer may call Saban and give him an out if one of his players gets in trouble this week. It all evens out they will say.

  170. Unconfirmed reports stating that Outback Bowl is done deal now, announcement to come shortly. Stay tuned.

  171. Faker, it is nice to see you revealed yourself as a closet Auburn fan.

As for the Outback, I am very excited. It is far superior to any bowl I thought would could get.

As for an opponent, I am all for Iowa. Should we get Iowa, there is the distinct likelihood that it would add more cornpones to this site, which I miss.

As for the oh no, the idea of Shreveport against Iowa Sate would be the most depressing. That is one invite I hope we would turn down. It is like the evil empire playing LaMo. What could good could come of it.

  172. Don't believe he would have done a bad job at Bama given enough time.

  173. Seems like Blogger is still recovering from that epic 1,300 comment post.

  174. I just saw a rumor that the opponent in the Outback will be Northwestern.

  175. Should Auburn get the Outback, I think is says a lot about the perception of the job that Chiz Co has done. It should also impress recruits even more than a trip to the Pizza bowl.

  176. I think Florida has hypnotic redlights. Remeber when the Cardinals skipper had that happen during spring trining a couple of seasons ago?

  178. Northwestern wouldn't exactly excite me, but beating up on a Big 10 opponent is never a bad thing.

  179. Newsflash: Recruits are more impressed by a New Years bowl than the weedeater bowl.

  180. Now i have to convince my wife that she''l be fine on new year's on her own while I go to Tampa. (she has to work)

  181. Bryan Mathews of Rivals just stated that if the BCS places holds on Alabama and Florida as expected, then we are locked up for Outback. Conference call with BCS right now and should now something official within 1-3 hours.

  182. FLIP!!!

What a way to spend New Year's--in the Tampa sun!!!

Gotta hope Iowa slips to the Outback to face us...that'd be a huge momentum builder--beating a top 10 team!

    WDE!

  183. What does Tampa have that Shrevport doesn't?

    Besides running water and electricity.

  184. Wasn't it Crosby, Stills, & Nash that had that sound "...by the time we got to Shreveport, we were half a million strong...", so there is support for Shreveport out there.

  185. There's no way that Bama and Florida don't both hold on to their BCS bowls.

  186. Bama and Florida should be locks for BCS bowls, so this sounds very encouraging.
