  3. Northwestern works for me. Now I don't have to worry about Wisconsin flashbacks.

    ReplyDelete
  4. I think we can win this one, I wasn't too sure about Wisconsin.

    ReplyDelete
  5. wow, I figured it would be Wisconsin. Should still be a good game with Northwestern, they've improved dramatically over the last few years.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Wildcats. That should be very interesting. Have we ever played them?

    ReplyDelete
  7. AU Undercover claims it's Wisconsin! Shoddy journalism!

We should show up well against NW. This is a more interesting matchup.

I was dreading watching a game where the the huge Wisconsin linemen try to tire out our shallow team.

  9. I agree RK. I would be more worried about Wisconsin than Northwestern, even though the beat Wisconsin. I think we match up better against Norhwestern.

JGT doesn't write it if it ain't true.

Just in case, I checked the Outback Bowl website ...it's NW.

  11. I like the match-up!! I didn't want the Badgers just for the simple fact we have history against them. Great to see New Blood in the bowl. I REAALLllY like it.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Yeah but if we win, we beat Northwestern?

    ReplyDelete
  13. martini, I've said several times that they report things on a hunch just to be first...no substance. ESPN employees, too. Geez. :-)

    ReplyDelete
  14. Interesting that Northwestern is terrible at running the ball, but pretty decent at passing.

Not your normal Big Ten M.O.

  15. A Jan. 1 bowl win - is a win. Be it Harvard, Marshall or even NorthWestern..... I'll take it.

  16. I do love twitter. I didn't understand it at first, but it is very handy for getting quick updates. My instant messaging program, pidgin, has a plugin that receives the tweets. They should up like any other IM.

  17. I like purple. I don't like red.

  18. Northwestern beat Iowa.

    ReplyDelete
  19. E-Bro - AU and NW have never met on the gridiron

    ReplyDelete
  20. I am sure the cornpones will tell you that Northwestern should be ranked ahead of Iowa and if we beat Northwestern, we should be too.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Northwestern won AT Iowa.

    ReplyDelete
  22. And Syracuse beat Northwestern

    ReplyDelete
  23. Looks like I'll be staying home and watching the game on TV. Winter Classic is on too!

    ReplyDelete
  24. Therefore Syracuse should be ranked ahead of Iowa. Hey Jay, maybe you should change your ballot. I would go with this logic.

  25. I'm just happy Auburn is playing in a bowl game. A New Year's Day Bowl is just a bonus. I don't care who they are playing, but I think NW is a good matchup.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Any juniors who can leave for the NFL?
I think Bynes could get drafted but if he stays his draft stock will go out the Roof

    ReplyDelete
  27. I like out chances. A team with depth problems can really use the break before the bowl game.

    ReplyDelete
  28. jhag, I would guess we don't loose any juniors to the NFL, but that is only a guess.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I'd be surprised...nay, shocked, if any juniors left.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I think Northwestern is a much better matchup for Auburn than Wisconsin.

    ReplyDelete
  31. In general, I like it when we play Big 10 teams.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Shocked is an understatement E-Bro,

    ReplyDelete
  33. USC VS Boston College in Emerald Bowl lol

    ReplyDelete
  34. I at least thought Powers was pretty decent, though.

    Was I surprised? Yes.

    Shocked? No.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Iowa State to Insight Bowl nice work Paul

    ReplyDelete
  36. Yeah Powers has started all year for the Colts, impressive

    ReplyDelete
  37. QUICK VOTE
What bowl game will Auburn play in this season?
    Chick-fil-A Bowl
    Gaylord Hotels Music City Bowl
    Autozone Liberty Bowl
    Advocare Independence Bowl
    Papajohns.com Bowl

That is what is still on al.com. HAHAHAHAHA

    ReplyDelete
  38. List of only possible early departures I can think of:

    Isom, Ziemba, Stevens, Blanc, Bynes.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I'm VERY impressed with Powers this year.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I liked Powers a lot, mainly because of how physical he was. I was disappointed he left, but not surprised.

    ReplyDelete
  41. E-Bro, I really hope none of those go.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I think it could be a much closer game than anyone thinks. When Penn St. played NW, it was close until the 4th quarter.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Blackmon leaving was a shock to me. I think it was personal issues that drove it, but he could really have used one decent season.

    ReplyDelete
  44. PF...me too.

Luv...have others claimed an easy win is on the books? I think Auburn has a fair chance of winning, but I don't think anyone can say Auburn does anything easy this year.

    ReplyDelete
  45. I don't see Bynes being big on the NFL draft board right now. Just my opinion.

    ReplyDelete
  46. RK...agreed. I don't see any juniors being big on the NFL's draft board.

I think a lot of those guys (Fannin included) can make a living in the NFL, but a year ahead of time? I just don't see it.

  47. Concerning that Ron guy coming in here earlier and telling Jay G off: is sports journalism really that cut-throat of a world? Does he not think that there's any chance that comes back to him? What are the typical repercussions if your editor finds out you're spouting off on other reporters' websites?

    ReplyDelete

  49. PF, judging by the profound quality of Ron's argument, I think it likely he will find job opportunities in the food service industry, so it really doesn't matter.

    ReplyDelete
  50. True. He's been a sports reporter for 10 years, yet is working for the Alton Herald, or whatever the heck his profile said. Still, I was shocked to see that he was in that profession and spouting that personal nonsense at Jay G.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Wonder if how hard it would be to get to Pasadena from Tampa?

    hmmmm..................

    ReplyDelete
  52. By the way, I apologize to any member of the food service industry for any offense that may have been unintentionally delivered by my previous post.

    ReplyDelete
  53. You can fly from Tampa to Los Angeles for 147 if you wait until Monday the 4th. That gives you two days at Mons Venus.

    ReplyDelete
  54. So, who has decided to waist two hours of their lives by watching the bowl selection show by not just waiting until it is over and taking a look at a list of the bowls online?

    ReplyDelete
  55. I like the matchup for Auburn against NW...

    ReplyDelete
  56. I've wasted hours of my life a lot more frivolously than the bowl selection show.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Steve,
Depends on if anything else is on worth watching...

    ReplyDelete
  58. That is my preferred spelling of waist, not to be confused with waste. Yea, I spell the words right, but sometimes the wrong words:)

    ReplyDelete
  59. What do y'all think the early line on Texas-Bama will be?

    ReplyDelete
  60. Anonymous5:48 PM

Northwestern thinks that they are the hottest team in CFB. They beat Iowa, Illinois and Wisconsin all in November.

Evidently, NW struggled when their QB was injured. Now he is well.

NW is a passing team with a good passing defense.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Well, I'll be watching the season finale of Amazing Race, because I'm whipped.

    ReplyDelete
  62. The BCS selection show is only 30 minutes on FOX. After that, the two hour thing on ESPN starts. Everything will be final and public before ESPN starts their coverage.

    ReplyDelete
  63. PF - LGG Byron will be watching Amazing Race.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Anonymous5:53 PM

I've set the DVR to record the show. I'll watch the 15 min. of substance and fast forward through the filler.

    ReplyDelete
  65. How about Mike Vick today? Some homecoming with his first two TDs in over three years in Atlanta. Judgeing by the crowd's reaction, they still love him there.
