I would like to take a moment to offer condolences to Tiger Woods. I mean, yes, I know it may seem bad, but at least your not Gary Hart. This isn't costing you a presidency, only your career and a crap load of money. You still have your health, I mean, as long as you keep your wife away from the golf clubs. So be happy. There is something left.
Tiger Woods needs only to watch Tin Cup a couple three times. That guy was a great golfer, lived in a trailer, dated strippers and gave lessons to hot psychiatrists. He later decided he needed to impress someone and win the US Open.
So Tiger, go win a golf tournament, get you a fat paycheck and then go crazy on the strippers/gold diggers.
And I would like to take a moment to that the Texas Tech president. If the situation couldn't get funnier, your thick southern accent while saying you tried to help Mike "WTF" Leach really helped. It brought a smile to my face.
to all the hotties in Tampa, i hope you have a fantastic time. i'll be stuck in knoxville sick. at least my fever went away today. it was over 101 yesterday. :(
hopefully i'll be near full strength by kickoff tomorrow.
Who really got screwed in terms of the bowl games? It is very possible that Tennessee got scewed the most thoroughly. Let's all rejoices as Virginia Tech rips Kiffikin a new one.
37 seconds left. Your opponent is 66 yards away from the endzone. You are up by 7. You manage to loose. Incredible!!!
Bowling Green, dang it!!! I picked you!!! If you can't win a frickin football game, at least get some green uniforms!!! What the heck are you thinking?
Me either Steve. I don't usually get caught up in the recruiting hoopla, but everyone seems to think CM will take Auburn to the next level next year. Of course, they said that about Kodi, and Tyrik, so who knows? This coaching staff has added to the excitement. They are definitely working hard.
Anyone have the stats on how we have done in games that start before noon over the last 4 or 5 years? I don't know the numbers, but I don't believe they are encouraging.
"I was amazed at watching SEC games at how you can watch a video replay and 5 million people thought one way and three guys watching the replay think differently."
I hope so Kathy. This team has shown a distinctively different pattern than Auburn teams in the past. In the past it always seemed it took us 3 or 4 games to really get rolling. This season we came out firing in the first game. I don't recall any other Auburn team doing that, including 2004.
Bob Slydell: Jeff Lebo Dom Portwood: Who's he? Bob Porter: You know, the tall squirrely looking guy, mumbles a lot... coaches basketball Dom Portwood: Oh, yeah. Bob Slydell: Yeah, we can't actually find a record of him being a current employee here. Bob Porter: I looked into it more deeply and I found that apparently what happened is that he should have been laid off five years ago and no one ever told him about it; but through some kind of glitch in the payroll department, he still gets a paycheck. Bob Slydell: So we just went ahead and fixed the glitch. Bill Lumbergh: Great. Dom Portwood: So, uh, Lebo has been let go? Bob Slydell: Well, just a second there, professor. We, uh, we fixed the *glitch*. So he won't be receiving a paycheck anymore, so it'll just work itself out naturally. Bob Porter: We always like to avoid confrontation, whenever possible. Problem is solved from your end.
"Our players like it and our coaches like because you don't have to get up and think about it and watch everybody else. You get up, you eat and you play. We like that,'' Chizik said.
"I would be very interested," Tuberville said. "I have family there. I have a lot of ties there. I've recruited Dallas and Houston and I think it would be a pretty good fit. Mike [Leach] did a good job and I think I could make the situation even better."
While it can't be stressed enough that it's hard to tell with running backs in this setting, Michael Dyer continues to impress with some of the natural things he does.
Michael Dyer again showing quickness and the ability to make people miss. The defense had him bottled up, but he manages to shake them and get out of bounds.
RBs Jordon James and Michael Dyer are showing excellent burst up the middle. Both can run between the tackles.
Black special teams update: Kicker Cody Parker I believe they mean Parkey) put more than half of his kickoffs five yard deep into the end zone. Was good from 50 yards, with 10 to spare, on field goals. Has been praised for his accuracy out to 50 yards.
Cincy - I actually met his Dad and Brother in Atlanta over Thanksgiving. His Dad played with Roof at GT and wanted him to go there....nice family. They actually were surprised that I knew who there son was.
It is encouraging that Cody can kick into the End Zone, something we have lacked for the last 2-3 years. I think that was one of the main reasons we lost to S. Florida. and may have cost us a game or two a year for the last 3 years.
WERK, I had to look up 420 to even know what they were talking about. Growing up I never got into any of that because I was too afraid of disappointing my granddaddy :) After he died, I was too old to get into that foolishness.
Our best friend's son graduates from the Air Force Acad in May. We are taking Tylerson and going out to witness it. I have heard that the academy graduations are something to see.
I don't know if any of you ever to to wareagleaburn.com, but they have some good stuff sometimes. check out this thread, its one of the funniest things ever. I guess they do this before every game. http://www.wareagleauburn.com/WEAForum/index.php?topic=6162.0
They didn't do the Jerome Brown/Miami 1987 where he said "the people at Pearl Harbor and the Japanese didn't eat breakfast before the war...so we outta here" did they?
Hmmm, I haven't heard anything about Northwestern trying to talk crap. Needless to say, there is no way they intimidate us. We have played way too many good teams. They would be like the guys on the ultimate fighter describing how they would dominate and then you see them laying on the canvas peeing themselves and asking for mommy.
SOMEONE HELP PLEASE!!!! Every Time I refresh I get a pop up saying "this site displays secure and nonsecure items. Would you like to display the nonsecure items?" How in the heck do I turn that off?
CH=B I think THT posted something on this a few days ago. I tried to find it, but couldn't. I think it has something to do with going to your internet settings and checking a box about allowing nonsecure items. I have a mac so I can't check the settings on a pc. Hope that will at least point you in the right direction.
In Internet Explorer, go to Internet Options. Select the Advanced Tab. Near the bottom of the settings scoll window you should see something like "Warn if changing between secure and not secure mode". I would uncheck that one.
i cheer for all SEC teams except for bama. going to the in-laws for free supper tonite to watch UT-Memphis basketball game then Chick-fil-A bowl. gotta keep the wifey happy if i wanna eat. :)
With regard to Leach, I read where he refused to sign a letter from the university outlining how players would be treated. I haven't seen the full letter, but one of the things it said was that doctors would determine if a player was elligible to play. I find that very reasonable. Chizik shouldn't be allowed to play a player who has been told by a doctor not to play. That just seems like common sense. Can you imagine the lawsuit if the player received a permanent injury during the game? He would basically own the football team before it was done.
i still don't understand why Leach put the kid in the closet? i mean, was he just being a punk or did he think some silence in pitch black would help him? what's the reasoning behind it?
it's baffling but i think overblown. he should've just said he was sorry, blah, blah, blah, signed the thing and kept his job. but i guess he doesn't need the money. i wouldn't have had a choice. :)
I also have a problem with Kiffikin. I have no problem with any coach talking to the NCAA and telling them you suspect some wrong doing. I do have a problem with a coach publicly accusing another coach of cheating. Worry about what you do and let the NCAA determine if someone is cheating.
I think not signing that letter had more to do with his firing than the kid in the closet. It seems Leach wasn't willing to work with the university.
One of the other things in the letter was something that said players wouldn't be punished for getting injured, which I find kind of bizarre. If someone felt that needed to be spelled out, he should have been fired.
Woot!!
ReplyDeletewoot ehyou!
ReplyDeleteBummer the site is down.
ReplyDeleteUse this link to listen.
ReplyDeleteBam! Thanks Steve.
ReplyDeleteYou are welcome.
ReplyDeleteSteve with the save.
ReplyDeleteyup, nice work SFC.
ReplyDeleteWow, we are mindless drones who can't live when this page goes down.
ReplyDeleteJGT is the benevolent dictator of my universe! thanks J-Kev!
ReplyDeletethis shot of kool-aid is for you!
HOtties!!! We drink the coolaid!!! I heard it on the radio, so I no it must be true!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, SFC.
ReplyDeleteI have altered the front-page link so everyone can listen!
Use this link to listen
ReplyDeleteJGT on air
Oh Steve
ReplyDeleteThanks didn't see that you posted it.
Yeah. I didn't say anything about Kool Aid, for the record. I don't think that way ... at all.
ReplyDeleteSounds like we're losers with no life outside of blog-world....I sadly have no retort.
ReplyDeleteNo problem Jay. We just keep coming!!!
ReplyDeleteI appreciate all of you being here.
ReplyDeleteWe cracked 1.9 million hits for the year yesterday!
We call it dedication not aubsession
ReplyDeleteAnd what is wrong with having no life outside the blog? Reality is overrated.
ReplyDeleteRats, I should've gotten on at least another 100,000 times.
ReplyDeleteCan we get to 2 mil by the end of the day?
ReplyDeleteThanks for the link. Since I'm actually off of work this week, this is my first time to be able to listen.
ReplyDelete"AT&T ends partnership with Tiger Woods."
ReplyDeleteTiger, you wanted to get screwed, but you had not idea how thorough it would be.
Somebody has to change their ID to
ReplyDeleteSuper Crip
word up for 420 baby!
ReplyDeleteNevermind I decided to do it
ReplyDeleteI've still got my "Cliff Dwellers" t-shirt. Too bad it doesn't fit anymore.
ReplyDeleteSo David Hamilton was "SuperCrip"?
ReplyDeleteAwesome.
Ha, I got the 420 yesterday
ReplyDeleteDavid Hamilton....geez, i haven't thought about that guy in what, 10 years?
ReplyDeletei've got a couple Cliff Dwellers tees too in storage. i didn't miss a game. we had a blast back in the Porter days.
I'll take Rick Stansbury as the hoops coach.
ReplyDeletePorter was the man and being in ACC basketball country that says a lot!
ReplyDeleteI graduated the year before basketball took off for a couple of year period. So I didn't attend many games during the Porter years.
ReplyDeleteHowever Doc Robinson was a greatly underrated player from those years.
That sounds better no?
ReplyDeleteSex Drugs and Rock N Roll
ReplyDeleteJGT partying in Tampa!
ReplyDeleteBRING ON SAN DIEGO!!!!!
ReplyDeleteNicely done JGT!!
ReplyDeleteHOTTIE HO!!! Live from Tampa FL!!!
ReplyDeletePat Burke was a man among boys.
ReplyDeleteTHT,
ReplyDeleteDon't make me hate you. :)
You know I'm kidding. Have an AUsome time!!
For some reason those guys on 830 seemed to think Auburn feared having a basketball coach that didn't win a lot.
ReplyDeleteFinally, Hotties in Tampa!!! IV and Digger should be on their way.
ReplyDeleteDid you see a sign in front of Scottie's house that said: "Cliff Dwellers storage?"
ReplyDeleteYou know why you didn't see that sign?
'CAUSE IT AIN'T THERE 'CAUSE STORING CLIFF DWELLERS AIN'T HIS (expletive deleted) BUSINESS, THAT'S WHY.
HOTTIE HOOOOOO.
ReplyDeleteHoller if you're at the Hard Rock Casino. That's all I'm sayin.
THT, JGT will be the one in the facemask!
ReplyDeleteI bet he makes a good cup of coffee.
ReplyDeleteFor those of you in Tampa.....
ReplyDeleteWe got 2 inches of snow overnight.....
Please enjoy!
I would like to take a moment to offer condolences to Tiger Woods. I mean, yes, I know it may seem bad, but at least your not Gary Hart. SuperCrip returns!
ReplyDeleteHis real name was David Hamilton. Just for the record ...
It has been said that because of what Tiger did, his sponsors, who are public companies and driven by stock price.
ReplyDeleteHave lost over $12B
I have not personally checked their stock prices since Nov.
By the way, has anyone even told Lebo he is fired, or is everyone just assuming he already figured it out?
ReplyDeleteI am digging the SuperCrip moniker
ReplyDeleteYou know, I am thinking that if they offered that woman $1B to keep her mouth shut, we would have never heard from her.
ReplyDeleteIsn't the Lebo coaching situation similar to the Redskins situation? Dead man walking?
ReplyDeleteWhich could be closely tied to the BC coaching situation? We would need MJT to decipher details.
nice Pulp Fiction reference JG. one of my faves.
ReplyDeleteLebo's situation is kind of like that anti-BC situation. Coach, if you don't interview with someone else, you are fired.
ReplyDeleteJGT, any Cam Newton rumors floating around in the Hard Rock Casino?
ReplyDeleteAnd I would like to take a moment to that the Texas Tech president. If the situation couldn't get funnier, your thick southern accent while saying you tried to help Mike "WTF" Leach really helped. It brought a smile to my face.
ReplyDeleteto all the hotties in Tampa, i hope you have a fantastic time. i'll be stuck in knoxville sick. at least my fever went away today. it was over 101 yesterday. :(
ReplyDeletehopefully i'll be near full strength by kickoff tomorrow.
My favorite comment from the TTU Chancellor
ReplyDelete"The only person responsible for getting Mike fired is Mike."
Who really got screwed in terms of the bowl games? It is very possible that Tennessee got scewed the most thoroughly. Let's all rejoices as Virginia Tech rips Kiffikin a new one.
ReplyDeleteScottie - I wasn't too far from you the other day. We stopped in Kingsport on the way back from Memphis after Christmas.
ReplyDeleteWould have brought you some Chicken Noodle Soup!
AU1, would've appreciated that. yesterday was rough. :)
ReplyDeleteKathy - To answer your question....I hear announcement this evening on Newton.
ReplyDeleteBut at this point, who knows.
Scottie B, glad the fever broke. Take care of yourself.
ReplyDelete37 seconds left. Your opponent is 66 yards away from the endzone. You are up by 7. You manage to loose. Incredible!!!
ReplyDeleteBowling Green, dang it!!! I picked you!!! If you can't win a frickin football game, at least get some green uniforms!!! What the heck are you thinking?
Personally, I won't count my newtons before they are signed.
ReplyDeleteMe either Steve. I don't usually get caught up in the recruiting hoopla, but everyone seems to think CM will take Auburn to the next level next year. Of course, they said that about Kodi, and Tyrik, so who knows? This coaching staff has added to the excitement. They are definitely working hard.
ReplyDeletethanks Kathy. i'm trying to suffer through work today. as long as i don't move too much i'm ok.
ReplyDeletei did watch 9 episodes of Prison Break yesterday, though. that was good. i love that show. one of my favs.
Hey, Hotties. Thanks for your support this year. Don't know why the interwebs demons strike whenever Jay G is on, but we appreciate your persistence.
ReplyDeleteThanks to Steve FC for coming through with the link.
That said, it's fixin' to be 420 in Central Mississippi, if you get my meaning.
For those of you who missed it yesterday, the internet reveals that the Tx Tech president is a graduate of Bama (two degrees, I think) and Tenn.
ReplyDeleteI am sure he is a fine fellow.
I knew I heard some mullet in that Texas Tech president's accent.
ReplyDeletePeople complaining about SEC officials, never!
ReplyDeletehttp://blog.al.com/solomon/2009/12/torretta_says_sec_officials_ar.html
Anyone have the stats on how we have done in games that start before noon over the last 4 or 5 years? I don't know the numbers, but I don't believe they are encouraging.
ReplyDeleteJ. Kev - Enjoy and have a Happy New Year!! Always fun to hear JGT on the box.
ReplyDelete"I was amazed at watching SEC games at how you can watch a video replay and 5 million people thought one way and three guys watching the replay think differently."
ReplyDeleteNow, I don't care who you are. That's funny.
I would like to provide a short summary of the Mike "WTF" Leach situation.
ReplyDeleteTT: You are suspended.
ML: I'll sue.
TT: You're fired.
ML: WTF
I love it.
Steve, maybe this coaching staff will prepare the team better for the morning games! NU played most of their games in the morning.
ReplyDeleteI was fairly certain that he didn't officially commit last night ... hence my silence.
ReplyDeleteI don't think a book-it decision has been made.
I hope so Kathy. This team has shown a distinctively different pattern than Auburn teams in the past. In the past it always seemed it took us 3 or 4 games to really get rolling. This season we came out firing in the first game. I don't recall any other Auburn team doing that, including 2004.
ReplyDeleteJGT, loved your article on Adams.
ReplyDeleteThank OOOOOO!
ReplyDeleteBob Slydell: Jeff Lebo
ReplyDeleteDom Portwood: Who's he?
Bob Porter: You know, the tall squirrely looking guy, mumbles a lot... coaches basketball
Dom Portwood: Oh, yeah.

ReplyDeleteBEASLEY!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteKENNESAW, GEORGIA, #89!!!!!
ReplyDeleteany time you can show some love to my boy Darvin Adams i'm all for it JG.
ReplyDeleteThat is an excellent article on Adams. He and Bates are easily to two biggest surprises of this season. I didn't see either one being so significant.
ReplyDeleteHouston vs Air Force on ESPN. Football starting early today. My daughter will be so happy!
ReplyDeleteHouston is doomed. I picked them with 26 confidence points. Houston will be lucky to get a field goal.
ReplyDeleteTD Air Force. You might be right Steve!
ReplyDeleteChizik will take the early kickoff.
ReplyDelete"Our players like it and our coaches like because you don't have to get up and think about it and watch everybody else. You get up, you eat and you play. We like that,'' Chizik said.
I don't think Houston likes the early kickoff!
ReplyDeleteAuburn will return to action after a 34-day layoff. It'll be 41 days since Northwestern last played.
ReplyDeleteI'll hang up and listen now!
ReplyDeleteCam Newton to Auburn will be a done deal this evening more than likely, but no later than tomorrow am.
ReplyDelete"I would be very interested," Tuberville said. "I have family there. I have a lot of ties there. I've recruited Dallas and Houston and I think it would be a pretty good fit. Mike [Leach] did a good job and I think I could make the situation even better."
ReplyDeletedid you hear that loud noise??? That was 15k cowbells hitting the ground at the same time.
ReplyDeleteI'm with Steve, seems like the higher the confidence points I assigned, the less likely my team is to win.
ReplyDeleteThis is coming from someone that won in several CFB bowl pools in each of the past 2 years. ....Oh well.
Tubs is openly lobbying for the job? ....shades of Tater-tot.
ReplyDeleteThings that make you feel good
ReplyDeleteWhile it can't be stressed enough that it's hard to tell with running backs in this setting, Michael Dyer continues to impress with some of the natural things he does.
Michael Dyer again showing quickness and the ability to make people miss. The defense had him bottled up, but he manages to shake them and get out of bounds.
RBs Jordon James and Michael Dyer are showing excellent burst up the middle. Both can run between the tackles.
AU,
ReplyDeleteWhat are you watching?
The Armed Forces Bowl....I was reading the update on the Under Armour game.
ReplyDeleteI thought the UA was Saturday?
ReplyDeletehttp://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/recruiting/feature/index?page=underarmourgame2010
ReplyDeleteThis game is becoming a blow out quickly.
ReplyDeleteI loved reading this from the site Kathy linked.
ReplyDeleteBlack special teams update: Kicker Cody Parker I believe they mean Parkey) put more than half of his kickoffs five yard deep into the end zone.
ReplyDeleteI was just getting ready to post that Cincy!!! Wonder why that excites us so much?
ReplyDeleteGreat minds, Kathy, great minds!
ReplyDeleteCorey Lemonier has been impressive all day and has been a handful for the offensive linemen today.
ReplyDeleteFuture Auburn Tiger
It is encouraging that Cody can kick into the End Zone, something we have lacked for the last 2-3 years. I think that was one of the main reasons we lost to S. Florida. and may have cost us a game or two a year for the last 3 years.
ReplyDelete“I’m trying to recruit a lot,” says Dyer
ReplyDeletehttp://auburn.scout.com/2/933788.html
Anyone who is in Tampa hear anything about the NW players getting a little cocky this am at the teams' breakfast?
ReplyDeleteI want to hang out with JKev.
ReplyDeleteJust sayin'
CH=B
ReplyDeleteWhat are you hearing?
As someone who has never smoked anything at all, the 420 thing doesn't make sense to me...but if you enjoy it have at it, don't get caught.
ReplyDeleteSomeone needs to call Les Miles and ask him to take a look at Air Force's clock management. I seriously doubt Miles has seen anything like it.
ReplyDeleteBreaking News on EPSN: Mike "WTF" Leach still fired.
ReplyDeleteWERK,
ReplyDeleteI had to look up 420 to even know what they were talking about. Growing up I never got into any of that because I was too afraid of disappointing my granddaddy :) After he died, I was too old to get into that foolishness.
Yeah, Steve, that was textbook stuff from Air Force there.
ReplyDeleteI guess you would expect such precision from an Armed Forces Academy.
I just like hanging out with the cool kids.
ReplyDeleteOur best friend's son graduates from the Air Force Acad in May. We are taking Tylerson and going out to witness it. I have heard that the academy graduations are something to see.
ReplyDeleteehyou,
ReplyDeleteSometimes hanging out with the cool kids can get you in a s--tload of trouble. :)
Okay, I give it until tomorrow for ESPN to start comparing Mike "WTF" Leach to Adolf Hitler. Ride that story, ride.
ReplyDeleteYou would think he had committed mass murder by listening to ESPN, wouldn't you?
ReplyDeleteYea, if I had it to do over again, I would become that gay sounding boy that the cheerleaders always stuck up for.
ReplyDeleteCincy, I just heard they got lippy and left before the whole thing was over. I was hoping someone down there maybe heard more?
ReplyDeleteMaybe one of our reporters on the scene will get the scoop.
ReplyDeletePeter,
ReplyDeleteIf you by chance get on here today, happy Wedding Day! Hoping everything goes well and you enjoy and long and happy marriage!
I don't know if any of you ever to to wareagleaburn.com, but they have some good stuff sometimes. check out this thread, its one of the funniest things ever. I guess they do this before every game. http://www.wareagleauburn.com/WEAForum/index.php?topic=6162.0

Loved that fake punt
ReplyDeleteCH, i use Google Chrome and don't have that problem. it always asks me the same thing on I-Explorer.
ReplyDeleteThanks, I tried what THT said but it didn't work on my computer. It is possible that I didn't do it correctly. What is Google Chrome?
ReplyDeleteSweet...just tried THT's trick again and it worked.
ReplyDeleteGoogle Chrome is just google's brower. it's more friendly to me here at work so i use it instead of IE.
ReplyDeleteis it free?
ReplyDeleteChrome or Firefox are free. I prefer Firefox, but some like Chrome.
ReplyDeletefree to all.
ReplyDeleteIn Internet Explorer, go to Internet Options. Select the Advanced Tab. Near the bottom of the settings scoll window you should see something like "Warn if changing between secure and not secure mode". I would uncheck that one.
ReplyDeleteGood run by Gerhart.
ReplyDeletethanks SFC.
ReplyDeleteAll I want for New Year's Eve is Kiffikin getting spanked by Virginia Tech tonight.
ReplyDeleteYou are welcome
ReplyDeletei cheer for all SEC teams except for bama. going to the in-laws for free supper tonite to watch UT-Memphis basketball game then Chick-fil-A bowl. gotta keep the wifey happy if i wanna eat. :)
ReplyDeletei'm diggin my new avatar. i watched Inglorious Basterds last weekend. Brad Pitt was fantastic. that Tarantino is one twisted guy, eh?
ReplyDeleteI have liked Frank Beamer for a long time and he was one of the choices for head coach back when Tuberville was hired. He is a solid coach.
ReplyDeletei like Beamer too. it's not going to break my heart either way.
ReplyDeleteWith regard to Leach, I read where he refused to sign a letter from the university outlining how players would be treated.
