1. Watch it Jay, there's a meteorite scheduled to hit the Dome tonight...pretty much the perfect outcome to that game. Or maybe an 18 OT 0-0 tie.
2. Agony: 1. Having to personally sit through tonight's SEC championship. 2. The way Pitt's feeling after letting Cincy blow back into the game and to lose by a botched extra point.
I keep switching who I pull for, this is the only possible match up where I would pull for either team... it just seems so wrong to pull for either of them.
Tebow's eye black Scripture of the game... John 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
I hate to say this, but Bama's D looks as suffocating tonight as it did vs. us. Other than the long plays, we didn't really do anything vs. them. We never had a sustained drive. The Gaytors are gonna have to do the same thing to win--hit it big a few times.
I just don't know if they have the home run hitters a la Harvin that they've had in the past...???
I was posting my comment the same time you were Jay G. I don't think anyone can argue against the fact that Bama's D is one of, if not the best in the nation.
Hoopie- If announcers cannot call plays correctly or get the players names correct, then they need to move on IMO. Verne has made several errors already today. He called a sack a fumble / Incomplete pass. He has gotten players names wrong several times.
I like the ones that just call the game and make me not notice them.
Tebow runs for three yards and Vernce is basically giving me a "HHEEEYYYYOOOOOOO."
I've never had a problem with Verne till this year. I watch the old 04 UGA vs. Auburn game and he was seriously on his game. You honestly can't say he's not a shell of his former self at this point.
Jay, if you could mention to one of the people working at the Dome...i'm a Falcons season ticket holder and tomorrow is the game where Vick returns to Atlanta.
Mabye remind them to pump out the port-o-potties this year. Every time there's been a Saturday even at the Dome, they've been great at changing over the field and everything but for the Falcons fans...we could live without frozen/full toilets in the parking lots this year.
Part of the problem is that coverage of the game has improved a lot (despite the lack of a goalline camera earlier).
Notice how quickly the producers are putting together these little highlight packages that aid in the in-game analysis. That simply wasn't possible just a few years ago.
Sticking with the old-school announcers is fine so long as they keep their chops up. Unfortunately that doesn't seem to be the case with ol' Verne.
Wow... Jeff Luc #1 LB recruit in the country just committed to F$U...
That is the 3rd big commit they have gotten since Diddy announced his forced retirement.... and they don't even have a defensive coaching staff.... How much $ is flying around down there?
Florida's defense can't be lost without Dunlap, can they? I agree, Strong is trying to figure out how his living room furniture's gonna look in his new house.
UF's defense has carried them all year...the Bama offense has found a spark and is making them look silly. UF is making Auburn look like a heckuva team right now.
USC loses here and they're looking at the Poinsetta Bowl. Think they'll be the first ever ranked team going into the Poinsetta Bowl? Seriously voters, what the h&ll have you been watching all year???
D. Miller, I said the exact same thing at the beginning of the game about Ingram.
I'm convinced that the SEC wanted this rematch in the SECCG and they did everything they could to make it happen. I'm also convinced that UAT is their "chosen" team this year and that's why there have been very few penalties called on them even though they have been committing them the whole game.
LUV, the SEC would want the best team to win tonight, giving them the best chance a the MNC. I could believe the conspiracy on keeping these two undefeated, but I don't think there is any conspiracy at play tonight.
I wish this blog accepted my insane amount of profanity I speak in during alabama games. I could really tell you how much I hate them and everyone associated with them.
I may have to move back to PA. As hard as it has been to deal with the bamrs since I moved here in '99, they are going to be impossible to deal with if they win the NC. UGH.
D. Miller, I'm right there with ya. We actually live about 10 mins from each other. In the almost 11 years that I have lived here, I have never seen so many UAT car flags flying as I have this year.
My partner is downstairs reading a comment aloud on rivals and she is laughing so hard she's crying and can barely read it. She kept reading the first words, "Dear 6lb 8oz Baby Jesus..." and then she loses it.
Go Gators
ReplyDeleteFire Lebo!
ReplyDeleteYeah, what he said.
ReplyDeleteYou're still on my list.
ReplyDeleteGotcha...but I think you are watching me with your bad eye!
ReplyDeleteDon't say this often...and it hurts to do so...but...GO GAYTORS!!!
ReplyDeleteFlorida is wearing those new helmets again. I am surprised.
ReplyDeleteWhatever helps you sleep at night Eddie-boy.
ReplyDeleteI really like the new helmets for Florida...but i'm surprised they are wearing them.
ReplyDeleteI really hate the new helmets, then again I hate everything about Florida so thats not surprising.
ReplyDeleteI am consumed by hate
ReplyDeleteSEC Championship being held at a place where one of the teams plays the home game is not fair, period.
ReplyDeleteMcElroy....LOL.
ReplyDelete1. Watch it Jay, there's a meteorite scheduled to hit the Dome tonight...pretty much the perfect outcome to that game. Or maybe an 18 OT 0-0 tie.
ReplyDelete2. Agony: 1. Having to personally sit through tonight's SEC championship. 2. The way Pitt's feeling after letting Cincy blow back into the game and to lose by a botched extra point.
Ok, who looks younger...Gene Stallings or Steve Spurrier?
ReplyDeleteHey! That Bammer stole JGT's hat!
ReplyDeleteSo Dunlap got arrested on a DUR Charge according to Lundquist :)
ReplyDeleteI like the new White F helmets....
ReplyDeleteGo Gators!
just please never let Nike touch our unis!!!
ReplyDeleteIf this game is half as good as the Cincy/Pitt game was, we're in for a treat today.
ReplyDeleteNike could come up with some interesting ideas for our unis, I'm sure of it...
ReplyDelete---->
Hey, I would love for Under Armour to do something similar with our Uni's
ReplyDeleteI really like the blue AU helmet prototype too...
ReplyDeleteDefer and win... 99% of the time...
ReplyDeleteGet 'em Gators!
so i am fresh from the hospital having my gall bladder removed. I feel like a mule kicked me in the ribs. I think uf's new uni's are tight.
ReplyDeleteGood healing to you Bin.
ReplyDeleteWelcome back, B.
ReplyDeleteAlabama scores first: 48-yard FG.
Ala 3, Fla 0.
Welcome back, Bin... here's hoping for a speedy recovery!
ReplyDeleteBinoba- Mom had that surgery yesterday. Very sore today.
ReplyDeletewhat the hell is a licensed blogger..
ReplyDeleteyou need to have a license to have an opinion...???
JGT I, the leader of the 3rd world, give you permission to blog
thanks, all i need now is for UF to run the kickoff back, man there's some necks at the game...
ReplyDeleteBin - isn't that akin to saying 'water is wet'?
ReplyDeleteokay, retracted statement RE: Nike...that orange helmet with tiger stripes is BAD A$$!!!
ReplyDeleteI like it too...
ReplyDeleteGosh, I hate UA-T. If they start getting stomped, let me know. Otherwise, I'll be watching teams I don't hate.
ReplyDeleteMontana up 48-0 and they're only middle of 3rd qtr. Happy Appy vs Richmond winner tonight will have to travel to Missoula next week. Brrrrrrr
oscar meyer looks stressed
ReplyDeleteVillanova stomping New Hampshire into the snow, 24-0 early in 2nd qtr. And there's still snow all over the camera lens.
ReplyDeleteAnd in step the refs to help out...
ReplyDeleteI hate these guys.
ReplyDeleteThat applies to everyone inside the Ga Dome.
ReplyDeleteShould be placed short...
ReplyDeleteflahduh is imploding, wonder if they can weather the storm and get it goin?? How stupid is it NOT to have a camera on the goal line? cbs suxes.
ReplyDeleteDifference in the game perhaps.
ReplyDeleteouch, leigh ann tiffin shanks it....
ReplyDeleteoooh.... missed XP... I wonder if that could come back to bite them? Let's hope so.
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteIf Fla don't start playing it won't make any difference
ReplyDeleteIngram scores on a 7-yard run.
ReplyDeleteKiffin misses the pat, hits the right post. Bummer for him.
Ala 9, Fla 0.
Why would you not set up a camera looking straight down the goaline? Doesn't make sense to me.
ReplyDeleteI keep switching who I pull for, this is the only possible match up where I would pull for either team... it just seems so wrong to pull for either of them.
ReplyDeleteTebow's eye black Scripture of the game...
ReplyDeleteJohn 16:33
These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
Florida guy kicked a field goal.
ReplyDeleteAla 9, Fla 3.
Pretty interesting game. Alabama's defense is really, really good.
I hate to say this, but Bama's D looks as suffocating tonight as it did vs. us. Other than the long plays, we didn't really do anything vs. them. We never had a sustained drive. The Gaytors are gonna have to do the same thing to win--hit it big a few times.

ReplyDeleteI was posting my comment the same time you were Jay G. I don't think anyone can argue against the fact that Bama's D is one of, if not the best in the nation.
ReplyDeleteWow, this game may actually live up to the hype, almost.
ReplyDeleteWhat I've seen thus far has been pretty good.
How do you let the punter take you down... c'mon!
ReplyDeleteCan CBS do what FSU did to Bowden and sort of nudge Verne out the door? This is getting sad.
ReplyDeleteGreat ....UF stopped SPUAT ...I hate SPUAT.
ReplyDeleteNow we need SPUAT to stop UF ....because I hate UF also.
During his day, I oved Pat Sumerall. Problem was ...CBS kept him too long also.
ReplyDeleteBrent Mascara has been able to do the best while aged.
Verne Lundquist is terrible. He needs to be pushed just like Bobby Bowden was.
ReplyDeleteDang, being from his hometown I knew Richardson was tough, but that was a bigtime run.
ReplyDeleteFlorida is all out of position on defense...
ReplyDeleteJust curious ...it seems that almost every announcer gets slammed by one fan or another.
ReplyDeleteWhat announcers do all the fans like? If any.
Florida looks bad. Their defense looks to be all hype at this point.
ReplyDeleteTRichardson will probably be better than Ingram in a year or 2. He is a true Fr.
ReplyDeleteWe know Bama's offense isn't anything special... FU's defense is just looking bad right now...
ReplyDeleteCharlie Strong may have his mind elsewhere at this point.
Florida's defense looks confused and out of position. And where is the pressure on the QB?
ReplyDeleteHoopie- If announcers cannot call plays correctly or get the players names correct, then they need to move on IMO. Verne has made several errors already today. He called a sack a fumble / Incomplete pass. He has gotten players names wrong several times.
ReplyDeleteI've never really like Verne.
Wooooow.
ReplyDeleteWas that not a block in the back? and a hold on the OT?
ReplyDeleteThat should have been a block int he back on Ingram.
ReplyDeletechomp- thought the same thing
ReplyDeleteHoopie -
ReplyDeleteI like the ones that just call the game and make me not notice them.
I hate Bama!
ReplyDeleteHoopie - Ron FRanklin or the ESPN gay dude.
ReplyDeleteAlabama struggling to finish drives, no? And McElroy isn't throwing much now.
ReplyDeleteStill, Kiffin hit a FG.
Ala 12, Fla 3
I want an announcer to announce the game and get the names right... not insert himself into the game.
ReplyDeleteJay, if you could mention to one of the people working at the Dome...i'm a Falcons season ticket holder and tomorrow is the game where Vick returns to Atlanta.
ReplyDeleteMabye remind them to pump out the port-o-potties this year. Every time there's been a Saturday even at the Dome, they've been great at changing over the field and everything but for the Falcons fans...we could live without frozen/full toilets in the parking lots this year.
Thanks.
Part of the problem is that coverage of the game has improved a lot (despite the lack of a goalline camera earlier).
ReplyDeleteNotice how quickly the producers are putting together these little highlight packages that aid in the in-game analysis. That simply wasn't possible just a few years ago.
Sticking with the old-school announcers is fine so long as they keep their chops up. Unfortunately that doesn't seem to be the case with ol' Verne.
That was a classic Tebow-era drive.
ReplyDeleteOk, Tebow has woken up.
ReplyDeleteTebow nice throw to David Nelson for 23 yards. Touchdown.
ReplyDeleteAla 12, Fla 10
Bellefay, I'll speak to the head coach about that.
ReplyDeleteFlorida will trade FGs for TDs all day....
ReplyDeleteNow that Tebow and the offense has woken up... I wonder if Charlie Strong will get his mind off his new job and back onto this game or not?
Ohh...if Alabama loses, do you think they'll make "Back to back undefeated regular season national champion" t-shirts?
ReplyDeleteBEASLEY!!! beat bama 3 out of 4!!!
ReplyDeleteI saw 2 missed holding calls
ReplyDeletekey block on that play was the one in the back
ReplyDeleteHow bad did 84 block 25 in the back on that play???
ReplyDeleteAnd Bama answers.
ReplyDeleteAlabama scores on a short run by Ingram.
ReplyDeleteAla 19, Fla 10
Wasn't there like 3 block in the backs there?
ReplyDeleteConsidering that these are supposed to be the two best defenses in all of college football, there's an awful lot of offense going on in this game.
ReplyDeleteWow.... on the replay you can see just how many calls the refs missed... 2 holding calls and 2 blocks in the back...
ReplyDeletewhatever it takes, right?
Nah... no issue with SEC offices being in bammerham
there's an awful lot of block in the backs and handfulls of jersey that is hard to see from field level, you know 8 yards away.
ReplyDeleteyay
ReplyDeleteriley cooper has some nice feathering going on.
ReplyDeletehard to see.... if you aren't looking... or looking the other way.
ReplyDeleteSEC refs are the absolute worst out there...
LOL, Verne just stole my riff.
ReplyDeleteDang, counting today UF's only trailed at halftime 8 times in the last 5 years?
ReplyDeleteThat's pretty impressive, if accurate.
USC and AZ is tied at 14 after 3 qtrs
ReplyDeleteHalftime.
ReplyDeleteAla 19, Fla 13.
Basketball question for you HOTTIEs still online: what would you think if AU replaced Lebo with this guy?
ReplyDeletetony barnhardt is all over Ingrams jock.
ReplyDeleteABC announcer during USC punt "Great punt" (there was no sarcasm). The punt was fair caught for a net of 33 yards.
ReplyDeleteWow... Jeff Luc #1 LB recruit in the country just committed to F$U...
ReplyDeleteThat is the 3rd big commit they have gotten since Diddy announced his forced retirement.... and they don't even have a defensive coaching staff.... How much $ is flying around down there?
FINAL BOISE 42 NMSU 7
ReplyDeleteFreep.... No thanks... AU can do better. AU needs a guy willing to sell the program to others, BG isn't into that kind of thing.
ReplyDeleteTHT... The announcer was referring to the hangtime, allowing the coverage to get down to cover it... in that respect, it was a good punt.
The ABC crew is much better than the CBS crew... not even close!
That's a bad stat... AZ has not crossed mid field in their last SIX possessions.
ReplyDeleteMy best AU buddy up in Ioway recommends we dump Lebo and hire Ben Jacobson.
ReplyDeleteHe's good, he's young, he's been in Dance, and he's 1-0 vs. Lebo.
USC 17 AZ 14 about 8 minutes or so
ReplyDeleteFSJ,
ReplyDeleteLate on the bourbon discussion. Buffalo Trace does some good stuff, but unless you have their George T. Stagg, I think it's a Four Roses day.
man, that's BS...they get their feet tangled up together and they call UF for a PF...
ReplyDeleteFlorida's defense can't be lost without Dunlap, can they? I agree, Strong is trying to figure out how his living room furniture's gonna look in his new house.
ReplyDeleteBammer is going to win going away...UF just doesn't have it this year.
ReplyDeleteno longer cheering for the gators, it's not worth it... looks like Bama's got it and it's up to Texas....
ReplyDeleteFlorida has to have 7 on this drive or this game is over, IMHO.
ReplyDeleteI tell you what, it just seems like UF has ZERO speed on Offense...no playmakers other than Tebow.
ReplyDelete3:14 to go. AZ TD puts them ahead 21-17
ReplyDeletedon't underestimate the tbeau yall.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe y'all are watching "those people" win. I hate them waaaaaaaaaaay to much to see that. Plus I don't want to puke all over my HDTV
ReplyDeleteGotta make that catch in this game.
ReplyDeleteFlorida's playcalling is awful
ReplyDeleteThat one, too.
ReplyDeletethere is no way florida wins this game.
ReplyDeletetheir punter is awesome.
ReplyDeleteUSC down 4 with 3 minutes and zero timeouts remaining.
ReplyDeleteI just can't see how they're still in the Top 20. They've looked TERRIBLE this year!
Gonna have to change all those "22 and 12" bumper stickers.
ReplyDeleteUF's defense has carried them all year...the Bama offense has found a spark and is making them look silly. UF is making Auburn look like a heckuva team right now.
ReplyDeleteAZ has ball with 2:20 to go on USC 15. USC has no timeouts
ReplyDeleteTebow was looking at Emmit like "I'm supposed to be a nice guy, so I have to pretend I care what you say"
ReplyDeletewhat happened THT??? I had flipped it over to the SEC game...
ReplyDeleteIf there was going to be a flag, it would have had to be on Julio... he was pushing off...
ReplyDeleteCharlie is upset? I didn't realize he was even paying attention to the game.... certainly hasn't seemed so.
ReplyDeleteUSC will finish in SIXTH place in the conference if AZ can close it out. AZ has 3rd & 10 with 51 sec to go.
ReplyDeleteUSC loses here and they're looking at the Poinsetta Bowl. Think they'll be the first ever ranked team going into the Poinsetta Bowl? Seriously voters, what the h&ll have you been watching all year???
ReplyDeleteThat'll teach Florida to have ugly uniforms. I blame this loss on the uniforms.
ReplyDeleteAZ beats USC!!!
ReplyDeletefitting end to USC's regular season...they didn't even get the dang pass off. Terrible...
ReplyDeleteUSC will still be ranked in the top 20 next week...
ReplyDeleteSince when is McElroy a Rhodes Scholar?
ReplyDeleteFlorida has forgotten how to tackle...
ReplyDeleteIngram never had a hip pointer... there's no way you recover from a hip pointer in a week...
ReplyDeleteWhat's ole Tebow thinking about needing to score 3 TDs in the 4th quarter on a Nick Saban defense?
ReplyDeleteI feel like I'm watching the '99 Championship all over again.
ReplyDeleteTebow's wishing that his defense would have showed up today...
ReplyDeleteepitome of the game there...4 or 5 guys have a good shot at the QB and can't make the tackle...where is UF's D?
ReplyDeleteWow... florida's defense is making McElroy look like Steve Young...
ReplyDeleteThey are passed out in a car Jay
ReplyDeletethe rout is on
ReplyDeleteAnd that's pretty much your ballgame.
ReplyDeleteD. Miller, I said the exact same thing at the beginning of the game about Ingram.
ReplyDeleteI'm convinced that the SEC wanted this rematch in the SECCG and they did everything they could to make it happen. I'm also convinced that UAT is their "chosen" team this year and that's why there have been very few penalties called on them even though they have been committing them the whole game.
I HATE UAT!!!
UF defense sez...thank you sir, may I have another?
ReplyDeleteon your toes there wakerider...funny comment!
ReplyDeleteSo, Florida's defense is asleep at the wheel tonight.
ReplyDeleteHas Ingram ran his way back into the Heisman?
ReplyDeleteIngram caps a 17-play drive with a short plunge.
ReplyDelete2-pt conversion failed.
Ala 32, Fla 13.
Alabama has run 56 plays and has gained 413 yards.
I really thought at halftime UF was going to make a game of it.
ReplyDeleteI guess our only hope now is Texas
ReplyDeleteI'll take our loss to UAT over this embarrassing display by Florida any day. They are barely putting up a fight...
ReplyDeleteLUV, the SEC would want the best team to win tonight, giving them the best chance a the MNC. I could believe the conspiracy on keeping these two undefeated, but I don't think there is any conspiracy at play tonight.
ReplyDeleteIf you pick Bama for the Heisman I will never come to your blog again! Colt McCoy big!!!
ReplyDeleteAnna, I'm with you on that one.
ReplyDeleteTebow isn't going to beat anyone throwing the ball.
ReplyDeleteWake, then these officials are blind.
ReplyDeletethere's your ballgame boys...
ReplyDeletethat's a throw...I'm sorry...not a homer or anything either, that's a plain throw.
ReplyDeletethat is definitely a throw. Florida is going to lose, but that was a throw.
ReplyDeleteRisk, thanks for making your first post in months.
ReplyDeleteYour threat doesn't affect me.
I wish this blog accepted my insane amount of profanity I speak in during alabama games. I could really tell you how much I hate them and everyone associated with them.
ReplyDeleteI'm chatting via Facebook with an old friend who's a lifelong Bama fan. I told her about Tebow's Bible verse on his eyeblack.
ReplyDeleteShe said she liked 1 Corinthians 15:57: "But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ."
Ingram has the benefit of the best offensive line in the country. I think it's McCoy all the way, but I'm no expert by an stretch of the imagination.
ReplyDeleteI countered with John 11:35:
ReplyDeleteJesus wept.
She replied, "He's about to."
2nd life...2 great plays in a row by Tebow...
ReplyDeleteMcCoy gets my pick... speaking of picks...
ReplyDeleteboom goes the dynamite.
ReplyDeleteWho's the favorite in a Texas vs. Bama matchup?
ReplyDeleteunfortunately... bama would be favored over Texas... Texas doesn't play defense well enough.
ReplyDeleteI think TCU would put up a better fight.
No cussing, please.
ReplyDeleteFamily blog.
I say Alabama will be a 4-point favorite against Texas.
Muschamp going against Saban.......if TX beats Nebraska.
ReplyDeleteI'd guess Bama by 7 or more.
ReplyDeleteI don't see Muschamp being any more able to stop them than Charlie Strong.
Of course neither of them is Ted Roof.
Bama vs Texas. I think I have a legit connection to UT as my favorite NFL team has 3 legit players from UT. Yeah, I'll go with that. :)
ReplyDeleteI may have to move back to PA. As hard as it has been to deal with the bamrs since I moved here in '99, they are going to be impossible to deal with if they win the NC. UGH.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean Luv, but unfortunately I have no where to move.
ReplyDeleteI picked a dandy time to move to bammerham... It's going to be insufferable...
ReplyDeleteOf course, I'd have to move in with my parents and I haven't lived with them in almost 20 years...
ReplyDeleteMight be worth is, Luv...
ReplyDeleteOh, come on. They've been insufferable for 50 years, regardless of how they do in football.
ReplyDeleteWe just won't have a good argument against them for awhile, that's all.
True Freep.
ReplyDeleteD. Miller, I'm right there with ya. We actually live about 10 mins from each other. In the almost 11 years that I have lived here, I have never seen so many UAT car flags flying as I have this year.
ReplyDeleteBama won
ReplyDeleteMy partner is downstairs reading a comment aloud on rivals and she is laughing so hard she's crying and can barely read it. She kept reading the first words, "Dear 6lb 8oz Baby Jesus..." and then she loses it.
ReplyDeleteOkay, lets all take a moment of silence and give thanks to Tebow.
ReplyDeleteWhere's Norm when we REALLY need his firm hand on the tiller?
ReplyDeleteMEYER TO ND!!!!
ReplyDeleteSkip Holthhhh to Notre Dame.
ReplyDeleteCharlie Strong to Louisville.... Meyer to ND?
ReplyDeleteFLIP IT!
ReplyDeleteGo UT!!!
Penalty on D. Miller for unintentional flipping. 15 yards.
ReplyDelete
