Ticket update

Hey everyone. Auburn just sent out a release announcing its third helping of Outback Bowl tickets. By my count, that's between 12,000 and 14,000 sold.

I'd say fans are pretty excited.

Here's what the university had to say:
AUBURN -- The Auburn Athletic Ticket Office has received an additional
allotment of club level tickets for the Outback Bowl. Club level
tickets are $150 and are located in sections 134, 135, and 137 in
Raymond James Stadium. Club and regular tickets may be purchased through
the Auburn Ticket Office via auburntigers.com or by calling
1-800-AUB-1957. For the best seats, fans are strongly encouraged to
place orders through the Auburn Athletic Department.

Official Bowl Packages are available through Total Sports Travel, the
official Travel management company for Tigers Unlimited and the Auburn
Alumni Association. Call 888-367-8781 for your reservation or visit
totalsportstravel.com to pre-register.

...I was speaking for Rollison, Moseley, Caudle, Trotter, Warren Moon, etc. Who knows who we'll have at the helm this year...?

I disagree. The best seats are in The OFFICIAL HABOTN SECTION!!! Place your orders here!!! (Limit 5 per customer).

  5. Jay G didn't like that page being flipped so he had to get some new info out quick.

    ReplyDelete
  6. JGT has my back re: unauthorized page flipping.

    ReplyDelete
  7. sure, he let's Norm flip all the time without starting new threads. But my first flip was so shameful, BOOM! a new thread.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Authorized or not, THT, page flipping and first posting only six minutes apart is pretty impressive.

    ReplyDelete
  9. THT did you see my post about receiving the Outback Bowl Ticket.
    Got it today. Thanks

    ReplyDelete
  10. yes sir, diggerforAU. I just checked all the tracking numbers... none have been updated thus far. But I'm sure you've given hope to Sean, mytommyd, IV, and AUFan365.

  11. Scott Choc - re: flipping&posting... I'm at home today with nothing better to do, except clean my office. Well, like I said, nothing better to do.

  13. I do enjoy the discussion of QBs, but I don't think we know enough to say who will be the starter last season. We just haven't seen enough of any of them. Rollison certainly has had the most hype, while Burns would come in second. Caudle would be third, Moseley fourth, and Trotter and distant fifth. You just can't judge based upon the hype. Whoever is the best decision maker will get the job.

Cox is the best example of this. He was probably the most accurate passer we have had since Craig. He was one of our toughest QBs. He was probably the best we have had in the clutch since Craig. But when he was off, he simply killed us. He managed to have three or four games that were just ridiculously bad.

Who will the man be? We shall see, but I don't think we know enough yet.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Yeah, we decided to splurge and bought club tickets through our scholarship friends......hope it's worth it! See you there in sunny florida!

    ReplyDelete
  15. It is real hard not to be impressed by Cam Newton from what I have seen and read. Good speed, quick release, good size, and willing to deliver a hit running the ball.

    ReplyDelete

Any truth to the rumor that $aban was seen in DFW airport today? I know he had a rough outing in Miami but it's got to be hard to resist Jones and his money and the fame that comes from coaching the Cowboys.

    ReplyDelete
  17. CH=B don't do that to me. The joy I would get from the lost dreams of the CH nation might be more than I could bear. But I'd try!

I'm sure it is just someone trying to get something start, but I have to admit it would be interesting. It would also be fun to see all the crying.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Anonymous3:48 PM

I hope that isn't true about Tim. I was really hoping for big things out of him. Is it his twitter page you got that from?

    ReplyDelete
  21. well, I wonder if he's a casualty of the Scholarship Reduction Act to enable AU to retrofill their '09 class to the 25 max and also fill '10 to the 25 max.

    ReplyDelete
  22. how's it going, everybody?

    ReplyDelete
  23. hey Michael - long time no see

    ReplyDelete
  24. THT,

If you are here, the ducats are in hand , arriving today about 15 minutes ago. I sent you an e-mail concerning the arrival. War Eagle, I will see you in Tampa.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Yeppers, been on a winter vacation and such. Did you miss me? I'll bet Puppet Hour sucked.

    ReplyDelete
  27. that's great news, IV!

We'll see y'all at the Extended Stay in 2 weeks

    ReplyDelete
  28. THT... please don't tell me you believe in black holes too.

    ReplyDelete
  29. well, all that stuff I lose has to go somewhere

different topic - anybody know if we've had a player from MN before?

    ReplyDelete
  30. I hope Hawthorne isn't gone, but it wouldn't be a disaster. He has never lived up to his hype.

    ReplyDelete
  31. and I find it very hard to believe that Harrison could find something more entertaining to do in Hiwaya than attending Puppet Hour.

    ReplyDelete
  32. If so, here's his career totals.

    35 games, 13 catches 253 yards, 0 TDs.

I wish him well. He's had a lot of bad luck.

    ReplyDelete
  33. IV, make sure you keep those ducats in the front pockets of your trousers. You don't want any scamps to steal them on the streetcar on the way to the big football contest. Just in case of such tomfoolery, be sure to take some extra nickels with you so you call for a paddy wagon.

    ReplyDelete
  34. That's a pretty solid ypc average. Beyond that, seemed like a really good guy as well.

    All the best to Tim.

    ReplyDelete
  35. ^can

Btw, I have now decided to call my tickets "ducats" the whole time I am in Tampa.

    ReplyDelete
  36. E-Bro ...

He set up our final TD against LSU in 2008 with a 58 yard reception -- didn't have the jets to go the distance, but we ultimately scored to take the lead.

We expected the world from him, and because of injury and other reasons, it just never happened.

He was at the center of one of the most intense recruiting battles (UAT, UT and AU) in the past decade. Not as fierce as for Carnell, but not far off either.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Seems like I remember him stepping up and making some key catches in Baton Rouge in 2007 as well.

    good news, AUFan.

    ReplyDelete
  44. I haven't been on here much today. Has there been any good cruitin' news flowing?

    ReplyDelete
  45. IV, this might amuse you:

My son is in Cub Scouts, and last month they worked on earning their "Whittling Chip" card. The den leader encouraged all dads to attend to help monitor the use of the pocketknives, and asked any dads who could not attend to send in a zip-lock bag so any severed fingers could be returned to them. My wife was already worried about the whole 8-year-olds and pocketknives combination, so that comment really didn't go over well. Anyway, the den leader started off the whole evening by showing that he had brought a large box of band-aids with him. After all the joking around, the only kids who cut themselves were his son and one other kid (which I probably could have predicted).

    ReplyDelete
  46. not really. The young man from Tallahassee, Ryan White, projected as a DB, likes AU a whole lot but hasn't made a commitment.

    ReplyDelete
  47. we always took our knives with us to kindergarten. THey weren't pocket knives, they were those miniature hunting? knives that you hook on your belt. We spent most of our playground time boring holes in the pine trees to watch the sap run out.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Scott,

You have made an old man's day. Thanks for the tale, I love it.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Times have definitely changed, THT. A pen knife or a cap gun would get a kid expelled these days. Not school-related, but when we were 7 or 8 we used to get sent to chop kindling. I'm not sure that was the best plan, even back then, but it probably wasn't uncommon, either.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Back when I was in school, it wasn't unusual to see a knife on a belt. I had one at one time.

A previous girlfriends son was expelled for having a box cutter in his car when they searched it after he was in a fight. The box cutter was something he used at work after school.

    The world has changed.

    ReplyDelete
  51. I'll bet back when he was Prince of Eurasia, Michael didn't even have to go to school. He probably just sent a goat in his place.

    ReplyDelete

So is this an extra set of club seats? AU sent out club seat invitation for upgrades last week so I am assuming they sold the initial allotment?
JGT you crashing at the team hotel?

  54. Anybody get the channel that the AU/FSU basketball game is on tonight? I'm going to try to find it when I get home, but don't know what the odds are. It looks like it's some FSN-Florida regional thingy.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Anonymous5:14 PM

Jay G...pick your QB who wins from what you have seen(wonder how many times you have been asked that)?

    ReplyDelete
  56. Choc - all I know is that the Pens are on FS-Pittsburgh tonight. That would definitely be a huge plus on the side of the let's move to Pittsburgh discussion.

    ReplyDelete
  57. sweet, I get FSN-Florida....oh, wait, I'm not watching until I hear that Lebo has been out talking to students again. ..or is Fired.

    ReplyDelete
  59. ...or the let's get a dish that carries all of the regional FSNs discussion.

    ReplyDelete
  60. that too, PF. I need to find a local DirecTV installer to come out so I can make sure everything is kosher before I commit to changing from crappy TWC.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Saban to Dallas....

lets start that rumor... I like it..

    ReplyDelete
  62. Kenny Gabriel is playing for Auburn tonight, I thought he was hurt

    ReplyDelete
  63. Good news coming from Lattimore.
Says if he was going to SCarolina he would have committed by now. Said he liked AU ALOT and has talked with Dyer aboutplaying together.

    ReplyDelete
  64. T Hawthorne has left the team. He graduates this Friday and decided to move on. Don't understand why he would not stay and go to the bowl game and get the goodies.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Looks like we will not sign Ken Adams. AU will probably go after BJ Irvin (LB) to fill his spot.

Was told this afternoon that Cam Newton is coming in on an official visit.

Eddie- the Rollinson Express get derailed before it ever leaves the station. I am trying to get some info.

    ReplyDelete
  66. AU 24 FSU 29 with 1:00 to go to the half.

    ReplyDelete
  67. yeah i watched the lattimore video, sounds encouraging. The basketball team is in some serious foul trouble, hargrove and lett have 3

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  73. Yes it was. We hit 1 of 2 FT and they get it down court and hit a 3.

    ReplyDelete
  74. i was confused on the T...shouldn't we have gotten the ball..what did reed do?

    ReplyDelete
  75. SI put out the top 10 upsets of the decade in college football somehow 2001 Tenn over UF got in, but Auburn over UF didn't. That is pure crazy talk.

    ReplyDelete
  76. that's cause it's not an upset when we beat UF..it's fact...WDE!

    ReplyDelete
  77. At this point that is obvious, but in 2001 it wasn't.

    ReplyDelete
  78. holy cow!! these refs...

    ReplyDelete
  79. I had a hard time tracking down Mr. B.J. Irvin

says he's a strong lean towards the sun devils

    ReplyDelete
  80. if you can't play ball how do you have a chance...my goodness..ridiculous...

    ReplyDelete
  81. Heis already committed to them. He is looking around at others. AU may take him, but will prolly wait untilt he Newton kid comes in to see what he is going to do.

    ReplyDelete
  82. look..i don't usually just blame refs but look at the foul differential..this is ridiculous...

    ReplyDelete
  83. I dont think Nick Saban is much of a failure

    ReplyDelete
  84. Anybody else think Rollinson is leaving the team?

    ReplyDelete
  85. wartiger-you watching the game on TV?

    ReplyDelete
  86. Lache Seastrunk asays its down to LSU and Auburn

    ReplyDelete
  87. jhag-you watching this HS game on TV
    Findley and Northland

    ReplyDelete
  88. wtc - only if you tell me so. The local papers in my neck of the woods haven't mentioned it ;-)

but if that's the case, we're talking an Amtrak type derailment.

    ReplyDelete
  89. we can't possibly keep Dyer, Lattimore, and Seastrunk all happy. Surely we aren't trying to get all 3 to sign?

    ReplyDelete
  90. Yeah, so Northland was 13th in the nation...were playin 14th team in the nation, yikes

    ReplyDelete
  91. He was in the NFL, which I believe is where Jerry Jones's team is.

I think Saban could get another chance in the NFL. But Jones is nuts if he hires him.

    ReplyDelete
  92. Northland held Findley to @50points. they were averaging about 115, weren't they?

    ReplyDelete
  93. wtc - whatever happened with Ahmad Dixon from TX. He visited last summer. No interest from either party?

    ReplyDelete
  95. The only way I can see AU looking at Newton is if at least 1 QB is not going to be around.
    Why would you have:
    Caudle
    Rollinson
    Trotter
    Mosley
    and then take a JUCO.

    ReplyDelete
  96. Everyone is dropping him, even Tenn. I hear academics are the biggest area of concern.

    ReplyDelete
  97. jhag-ESPN says H Barnes is the #1 player on their list. he plays in about 15 minutes.

    ReplyDelete
  98. Auburn just about hanging around in Tallahassee right now. Down 6 with 9:20 to play, per espn.com anyway.

    ReplyDelete
  99. tell your Mom that I say thank you.

    ReplyDelete
  100. Anything else I can help you with before I stop covering recruiting that I do not actually follow.

    ReplyDelete
  101. Yeah...this guy thinks differently though

    ReplyDelete
  102. wtc...is it too early to get any kind of feel on 2011?

    ReplyDelete
  103. I'm gonna go ahead and say yes Ebro... we don't even know who our QB will be next year. I will make the guess we will be talented in 2011, but no clue if that means we'll be good.

    ReplyDelete
  104. E-Bro - is Eddie ok? Not sure how he is handling the Rollison Express rumors.

    ReplyDelete
  105. Ebro-you talking abotu recruitinig for 2011?

    ReplyDelete
  106. wtc - why couldn't it be Neil Caudle? Hasn't he graduated by now?

    ReplyDelete
  107. i was referring to your 7:42 post

    ReplyDelete
  108. wtc...yeah, I was referring to recruiting. I know it's awful early, but I figured they might be big into the evaluating period, though for someone like yourself who doesn't follow recruiting, it'd probably be hard to find out anything.

    ReplyDelete
  109. This staff's ability to recruit, and their non-stop relentless attitude towards recruiting makes me tired.

Not that I follow recruiting... but if I did, I wouldn't be able to keep up.

So, Lattimore may have tipped his hand in a recent interview....
So, Seastrunk narrows his list to 2, which includes....
So, Cam Newton is taking an official to AU this weekend....
So, Auburn has increasing interest in BJ Irvin....

    Ok... I'm tired.

    ReplyDelete
  110. Wake...it's never too early to identify offensive and defensive lineman. You always need tons of them.

    ReplyDelete
  111. "those people" already have 2 commits for '11

    ReplyDelete
  112. I am sure the coaches are thinking a little about 2011 but my simple mind says lets fill up 2009 and 2010 before we start talking 2011.

    ReplyDelete
  113. auburn's hanging tough @ FSU and with some good players in foul trouble, these refs are awesome, not

    ReplyDelete
  114. THT-He just likes being the #2 guy. I do not know that for sure on Rollinson. There is alot of chatter at AU about him leaving. Up until this morning C Newton was not visitiing, accoridng to those that cover recruiting for pay. Now my friends over there, not a pay service, say Newton is for sure coming this weekend. Can't see why AU would even look at him unless there is some big change coming.

    ReplyDelete
  115. THT...Eddie is remaining oddly quiet on the Rollison Express, but I think that's because he's in Disney World and has no other care in the world at this point.

Missing bowl practice aside, he still feels good about everything, though. I'm sure he'll start tabulating campaign speeches as soon as he gets back form Orlando.

    ReplyDelete
  116. Sorry E-Bro, I thought you meant Season B (games one-12) not season A (recruiting) in 2011.

    ReplyDelete
  117. They are well into the 2011 class for recruiting. A couple of QB's (highly thought of) and DB's are high on the board. I have not started looking at it yet though.

    ReplyDelete
  118. Anothr thought from a feeble mind. It is hard to keep these young guys attention for one year much less two or three. They could change teams four times before signing day.

    ReplyDelete
  119. After now reading wtc's post, I'm guessing Eddie will not react well to the derailment of the Rollison Express.

He'll be devastated. I'm inclined to send him a text now and tell him to just stay on the Rockin' Roller Coaster for a while and work things out.

    ReplyDelete
  120. Can't see why AU would even look at him unless there is some big change coming.

    I agree.

    ReplyDelete
  121. Sorry Wake, I should have been clearer that it was about recruiting.

    ReplyDelete
  122. wtc - of course you haven't looked at it yet. We'll find someone who follows recruiting to get that info ;-)

  137. Colts look like they're going for a win tonight.

    ReplyDelete
  138. Is FSU suppose to be any good this year?

    ReplyDelete
  139. I have no clue what to make of it.

I think Newton has genuine interest... and he has immense talent. He's also probably more advanced in his development than any of our current QB's (Not counting Caudle, but I don't think he's a serious player for the gig). Newton would have 2 years to play...
If the coaches evaluate him, and decide to offer, and he comes in... I just think it would be because he's so much further along in his development than Tyrik or Mosely. IT would give those 2 time to develop further.

As for his past transgressions... I won't judge him on those. I know kids do stupid things, and I believe in a person's ability to learn from their mistakes and be a better person. I trust that the coaches would do the right thing.

I do NOT think it is an indictment or any kind of indicator of the status of Rollison. Newton is a stud, you have to give him a look... right?

    ReplyDelete
  140. Anonymous8:28 PM

Why does everyone seem to think Newton is comming in on a visit?

    ReplyDelete
  141. Another (purely hypothetical) thing.... considering the news about Hawthorne today... What if Caudle decides that he's graduating, and decides to move on? That would certainly lessen the crowd at QB and possible make room to bring in a guy like Newton.

Not saying this is true... just purely hypothetical speculation.

    ReplyDelete
  142. End of regulation 2-2

5 minute sudden death overtime 4 on 4 free hockey ensues.

    ReplyDelete
  143. Anonymous8:32 PM

If Newton does come in it means we lost Ken Adams to UTenn not that Rollison's leaving. No recruiting service has confirmed Newton comming this weekend though that does not mean its not true.

    ReplyDelete
  144. If the kid can play and the coaches get a good vibe from his visit, why not offer. We have scholarship room.

    ReplyDelete
  145. FSU is not as good as last year (though they are 9-2 now), but they're still an ACC team and it was on the road, so I'd say it's a good effort from Auburn tonight.

    ReplyDelete
  146. Anonymous8:34 PM

As of right now Caudle is considered the front runner for the job..I doubt he leaves..maybe Trotter(who has no shot).

    ReplyDelete
  147. Anonymous8:34 PM

Once again no one has said he is visiting at all.

    ReplyDelete
  148. wow, matching minors 27 sec into OT

3 on 3 hockey right now. Lots of open ice.

    ReplyDelete
  149. I take it since you guys say he has only 2 years left he could come in Jan. and count toward 2009 ???

    ReplyDelete
  150. E-Bro on the Auburn FSU game that is what I was thinking that it was good that Auburn could stay that close on the road. Thanks for the info.

    ReplyDelete
  151. Yes Newton can enroll in January THT. And apparently Newton's papa said they are coming to visit.

Our resident recruiting non follower said it doesn't look like Adams will qualify Turfman.

    ReplyDelete
  152. Sorry the early enrollment comment was to Digger not THT.

    ReplyDelete
  153. Wake I knew that was for me!!

    ReplyDelete
  154. and I knew it wasn't for me!

We're going to a shootout after the zambonis make a quick run down the center of the ice.

    ReplyDelete
  155. PENS WIN!!! PENS WIN!! PENS WIN!!!

Letang and Crosby with shootout goals

    ReplyDelete
  156. I was only ever in one shootout when I played hockey (the only time we had overtime at all was in the playoffs). I missed my shot, we lost by one point and lost the championship game. Only time I ever cried over shots.

Now my lightning seriously suck at shootouts. I HATE shootouts.

    ReplyDelete
  157. That should read the only time I've ever cried over sports. All though I was upset enough that if my friends parents would have let me drink, I would have cried in my shots.

    ReplyDelete
  158. In order for that last post to be remotely funny, it should be known that I was about 10.

    ReplyDelete
  159. Newton is the #1 rated JUCO player this year. 6'6" 247 lbs. Was recruited to play at UF 2 years ago. Was kicked off the team for stealing a teammates (I think) laptop. Has changed his ways, according to his current coaches.

...actually, I could skate mediocrely. I just never could get that hockey stop down. Not being able to stop abruptly is not a good thing when playing ice hockey.

  161. I couldn't find any stats from Newton's '07 season at UF, or from the Hawaii game to start the '08 season (he was going to redshirt after that but traded a redshirt for a laptop in November of that year).

  162. Walls will stop you pretty quick THT. Ever take a private lesson? You could probably get it down in one lesson.

I miss it alot, but for whatever reason I haven't gotten into the NHL since the lockout.

  163. I think I saw stats from 07 THT, and I think they were very brief.

  170. What is Tiger's angle on this? Does he lover he that much (his prior actions suggest otherwise)? Does she have major dirt on him he doesn't want getting out? Is she a that good in the sack? I just don't get it.

  175. I get that there was already precedent for this by what the LSU lawyer did, so I won't rap against Alabama too much, especially since it was an Auburn judge who granted the motion, but the language in the motion was just a touch over the top.

    Just a touch.

  176. Wake...Clay Travis is a UT fan, so he of course hates Florida with every fiber.
