my previous first post was a fluke
ReplyDeletestill HTBOTN, just talking bball now ;-)
ReplyDeleteHow is this deviating away from Tennessee :)?
ReplyDeleteTrois!?
ReplyDeleteHOTTIES HO!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteHey Scottie B IN TENNESSEE!!!
ReplyDeleteMornin', gents!
ReplyDeleteThe weather, it's agittin' warmer.
Eddie: Tonight is the women's basketball IRON BOWL ... so I'll have that as well.
ReplyDeletePlus, I think we'll have some recruiting stuff to discuss.
And our pick for Most Improved Player.
I was out most of yesterday. We had a plumbing problem that ruined by icemaker and it was an unpleasant thing.
I think there's some great captions heading our way on this thread for the Leapin' Lebo photo.
ReplyDeleteHOLY LEAPIN' LEBO THAT'S A GREAT PIC!
ReplyDeletescottie b is reppin' for the hotties tonite.
are, not is.
ReplyDeleteDidn't want y'all confusing me with the hillbilly who burned his Kiffin shirt.
Eph,
ReplyDeleteWe aren't all gents ;^)
Morning, hotties! THT, how did you fare at work yesterday? You getting better?
I'm dragging this morning. I'm too old to stay up until 2:30 am. Especially for no reason. I finally had to go to bed because I was spending too much money shopping online!
Hey, Cincy!
ReplyDeleteI think I might have been channeling a disgruntled TN fan.
That was unkind of me.
We're gonna shock the world and beat UT and Kentucky back to back.
ReplyDeleteWERK...you sleep-type real well... ;-)
ReplyDeleteRepost from earlier this morning:
ReplyDeleteA nice Krootin' Link for all the recruitniks.
AU will beat UT. Or maybe they won't.
Just teasin' ya, Eph. There are some disgruntled TN fans for sure. Glad I'm not one of them.
ReplyDeleteSeanzie, thanks for the link. I have it on my home computer but needed it here at work.
ReplyDeleteThat Fulmer statement was funny in so many ways.
Big recruiting weekend coming up.
Having been a Gator fan and living in Nashville for the better part of ten years, I can honestly say I do not feel bad for VolNation.
ReplyDeleteSomeone (sorry, don't remember who and too lazy to go back and look) said they don't think we get Thornton. What makes you think that and where do you think he is going?
ReplyDeletei think RK is spiking his coffee this morning. i like the optimism, though.
ReplyDeletemorning all
ReplyDeleteBy "beat" I meant we'd beat them at the # of 3's attempted.
ReplyDeleteThat counts right?
I like RK's thinking. Let's go with that prediction.
ReplyDeleteI meant your first prediction.
ReplyDeleteAt the end of the game win or lose, our coach didn't leave us after one year. We are winners either way.
ReplyDeleteCincy,
ReplyDeleteI'd love to see basketball turn it around because I like Jeff Lebo as a person, but unfortunately these next two games could be ugly.
Good morning friends.....
ReplyDeleteAnybody up for a controversial question this morning...or should I keep it to myself?
bring it Faker...
ReplyDeleteDo it bammer
ReplyDeletesure FSJ....i think we would all agree that Saban is the spawn of satan himself. however, i don't see that as really that controversial, do you?
ReplyDeleteOnly if it has to do with the relative merits of xCTT and xCTF. Or alternatively how wonderful Todd has been for us. Or, really anything which might spark a lively exchange between some folks. Two in particular come to mind.
ReplyDeleteWell.....since we are probably all in agreement that both Alabama and Auburn will have top notch recruiting classes this year.....
ReplyDeleteKeep in mind that this question is with my tongue firmly planted in my cheek...Actually it is just to pick at a few folks that asked the questions over the past two years.. you know who you are.. :-P
The story last year was that Alabama must be cheating because they had a top class........
Does that mean that Auburn is this year? Or is it simply that the Auburn recruiters are that good?
bring it faker
ReplyDeletethat's it! Faker should be hung!!!!
ReplyDeletej/k....kinda. :)
If any of Auburn's signees show up driving dodge chargers, considering where they came from, yes we cheated.
ReplyDeleteI'll take a Dodge Challenger and not say a word as to where it came from.
ReplyDeleteI DRIVE A DODGE STRATUS!!!
ReplyDeleteWhatever Auburn does is glorious.
ReplyDeleteWhatever Bama does is despicable.
We can't help it, that's just the natural order.
I DRIVE A SATURN! BOOM!!!!!!
ReplyDeletemmmmm...donuts
ReplyDeleteScottie - I was referencing a Will Ferrel SNL skit. I in fact drive the same Chevy Trailblazer that I've had since 2001.
ReplyDeleteI don't think most of the talk of cheating was simply because they had a good class. I think it more or less came from what the recruits were driving.
ReplyDeleteAnd then there is the whole thing about bama cheating at everything.
ReplyDeletei know Hornet. i just like showing my Saturn love every now & then so she doesn't get pissed at me. i need her.
ReplyDeleteWait a minute..........when I was an AU student back in the day my boyfriend and I were styling in a 1971 green Charger.
ReplyDeleteWas I cheatin????
By the way it was gorgeous and thata car could ride!!!!!!
Depends missinit...
ReplyDeleteDid you have other boyfriends?
Jet Streams ...
ReplyDelete1. Go ahead and underestimate Phil Fulmer. Do so at your own peril.
2. Shouldn't it be "The Limpin' Lebos" or the "The Lame-O Lebos?"
3. Ehyou is right. Faker, it means your program is still filled with and surrounded by a buncha cheatin' b@$t@rd$, and our guys are Angels of Mercy.
4. I like Lebo, but he's not gettin' it done. Maybe he should go duck huntin' or somethin' so I can whip up a little more anger.
5. Scottie B, if you stay from tipoff to final buzzer, you deserve a certificate of achievement or something.
6. I think we need WTC to post a picture of Mom as his avatar. We need to see if she looks trustworthy.
7. Hornet, change your avatar. I'm feeling weak. If you don't I will continue my march toward Type 2 HABOTNetes.
Another somewhat controversial thing....
ReplyDeleteFrom what I understand and have heard from people I respect....Greg McElroy will have the fight of his life on his hands in spring/fall practice for the starting job.
I normally would blow this off to being typical offseason chatter....but the fact that they moved A.J. to second team this season makes me believe it.
FSJ only if the top kroots roll into town in an Escalade or simular
ReplyDeletemode of transportation. Or come from Gadrock with pockets full of greenbacks
FSJ......never! One man at a time is all I could handle.
ReplyDeleteMore than one man at a time would have been too much like work.
and she needs you Scottie - enjoy the game tonight - sneak up behind Rod and give your hotties a shout out on the Auburn ISP radio network.
ReplyDeleteI was just picking at you missinit.
ReplyDeleteMy college roommate's car was so bad that he'd leave his keys in it hoping that it would get stolen to force his parents to buy him a new one.
Didn't happen.
scottie....
ReplyDeleteCould you sneak up behind Rod and start whining about some calls or something? Would make him think that Stan made the trip.
McElroy is the MAN and will start the season as No. 1 QB he may be replaced during the season if things do not go well. But if Bama continues to win His Shortness will not change QBs
ReplyDeleteBy the way, nobody noticed my little Tigress.
ReplyDeleteThat's my grandaughter, Rylan.
My son sent a group of older pics of her. She is about two months old in this pic and I just could not resist.
Of course she is older now but I ask, is that not the most content Auburn Tiger you have ever seen???
Things that make you go hmmmm....
ReplyDeleteWhere are the coaches?
We don't need no stinkin' Bama QB discussions on the HABOTN in January. Possibly during the May-June doldrums. At that point it would be a distraction from the inevitable AU QB chatter.
ReplyDeleteDiscussing the UT trainwreck is entertaining.
Congrats missinit!
ReplyDeleteLOL Hoopie...
ReplyDeleteJust passing along chatter from my aunt.
Congrats missinit...
ReplyDeleteI'll put the Bama outfit in the mail today.
We know you can't help yourself Faker, jus' gotta "nip it ..nip it in the bud".
ReplyDeletemissinit,
ReplyDeleteRylan is a Hottie, even at two months old!
missinit Beautiful and when you get that bammer outfit from faker send it to Cuba they need help.
ReplyDeleteI would have said Hatti but that is way to sad to even say anything but God bless you people.
Maybe I missed something, but didn't McElroy just "win" them a championship? Is he not also undefeated in the regular season? Sounds to me like he wouldn't get the starting job only if he didn't want it. Gawd I hate bama.
ReplyDeleteAll valid points mytommyd....
ReplyDeleteJust passing along what I've heard.
UT fans need to read Barnhart's message from yesterday. They will ultimately be better off without him.
ReplyDeleteNot sure if it's been mentioned yet, but Jay Ratliff was named to the AP All-Pro team this week.
ReplyDeleteI never would have thought he would be one of the best DT's in the league. I thought a solid contributor, but never the level he's played at so far in his career.
I mean it's this thinking that gets me in an absolute fix about Bama. Yeah perhaps you could find a quarterback that would be more successful. geez.
ReplyDeletefunnin fsj... kinda
I heard the exact same QB scuttlebutt from a Bama grad (allegedly) yesterday. Two sources on a rumor makes it a fact, right?
ReplyDeleteJust for wondering, what position did Carlos Dansby play at Auburn?
ReplyDeleteIf the guy's better, then he's better, no matter what McElroy did this year.
ReplyDeleteKarlos Dansby came to Auburn as a WR, moved to a safety/LB hybrid then a LB for his final two years.
ReplyDeleteFaker, that is most thoughful of you but it ain't happening!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteHer dad even depleted anything that remotely resembled that horrid houndstooth....yuk!
Dansby was/is one tough dude.
ReplyDeleteWas he that big at Auburn? Cause they have him playing tackle at AZ don't they?
ReplyDeletewho is the pro player that NEVER says Auburn during the intros on TV, I think he says his high school???
ReplyDeleteDoink and I'm confusing (don't ask me why) Karlos Dansby with Carlos Rogers. I didn't think Carlos was that big.
ReplyDeleteNot sure missinit...
ReplyDeleteI've seen several NFL players do that.
am i the only hottie to be in attendance tonite?
ReplyDeletei'll be there till the final buzzer. for better or worse.
Carlos Rogers was pretty good if I am remembering correctly. I think(?) he won the Thorpe award while at AU.
ReplyDeleteI sure remember his name being called a lot if that is of any value.
Mainly I remember him because he was a pesky defensive back for an opposing high school team when my son was the QB of our team.
Muckleroy is undefeated as a starting QB ... on any level.
ReplyDeleteOf course, when its Kodi vs. Star next November in West Vance, we'll all get a good chuckle.
can i chuckle now Jet or do i have to wait till november?
ReplyDeleteIf it's Cutcliffe, then Archie and Olivia better get busy.
ReplyDeleteif it's Cut then this city is going to burn itself down.
ReplyDeleteTERRY
ReplyDeleteHELLO KENNESAW, GEORGIA!
ReplyDeleteAnything HOT coming out of Knoxville in the pst few hours????
ReplyDeleteShowing my stupidity here but does Vegas give odds on this kind of thing for all the betting fools out there????
The game's on the 2? Awesome.
ReplyDeleteIf Tennessee hired Cutcliffe, then Fulmer must already be the AD.
ReplyDeleteHello, Hotties! It's been one hell of a day here at Shelby Baptist!
ReplyDeleteJet, your 9:53 post was absolutely EXCELLENT!!!
Scottie, pull the team through tonight! They need you!
missinit, your granddaughter is just precious! Congratulations!

ReplyDeleteNot AU (or even UTK) related, but did anybody ever post this? It's from a Mark Schlabach article at ESPN.com. I sure would have liked to have seen McCoy stay in the game and for him to have been right in his assessment of what was going to happen:
ReplyDeleteEven in only five plays, McCoy told his father he'd seen enough to know the game's outcome would have been different if he'd stayed on the field.
Said Brad McCoy, who coached his son at Jim Ned High School in tiny Tuscola, Texas: "He looked up at me and said, 'Dad, I had 'em. I had 'em. I knew everything they were doing before they did it. I was fixin' to complete every pass I was going to throw tonight.'"
missint, Dansby always says his HS during intros.
ReplyDeleteyeah, Carlos Rogers was pretty good...good enough to hover over all recruits and players that walk into Jordan Hare Stadium:
ReplyDeleteCarlos Rogers
I knew everything they were going to do before they did it. Well he should have known to get outta the way of that big fella that made his arm go dead.
ReplyDeleteA couple of things ... not picking on any posters.
ReplyDelete1. What were the McCoy's supposed to say? "It was a good thing he (I) got hurt. Rolondo was gonna put him (me) in the hospital, and UAT was going to kick our @$$." Games take twists and turns -- physically and emotionally. UAT was the better team and would have likely won another way with McCoy on the field. At least, that's my opinion.
2. If a player -- ours or otherwise -- wants to give some love to his high school, preschool or anywhere in between on the intro, more power to him. At some point in the game, an announcer is likely to say, "Dansby, a 8-year pro out of Auburn ..."
TommyD ...
ReplyDeleteIt reminds me when the Mistress Cleo was indicted in Missouri, and expressed shock.
The attorney general responded, "What? She didn't see it coming?"
Good mornning all. Anyone have the cliff notes version on the past few thread? I wasn't on much last night.
ReplyDeleteEric Mack: 70% and Climbing
ReplyDeleteJames Stone: 45% and Steady
Victor Beasley: 30% if he doesn’t visit, 60% if he does
Marcus Lattimore: 70% and Steady
Corey Lemonier: 60% and Climbing….Must hold off FSU
Damien Robinson: 20% and Steady. He may visit but I doubt it.
Byran Jones: 40% and I expect this number to be much higher after his visit.
Mike Thornton: 50% and Steady.
Jeffrey Whitaker: 80% and Climbing
Lache Seastrunk: 10% and Declining
Eric Russell: 10% at best. He would receive an offer if Howard de-commits.
A Surprise: 20% and Climbing
Highlighted are the recruits I expect Auburn to finish with.
My previous post was from a very trusted site.
ReplyDeleteThe guy sitting on his rear end on the bench always thinks that he would have affected the outcome of the game.
ReplyDeleteIf only Dareus hadn't hit him.
Scottie "Clutch" Durden simply has no equal!
ReplyDeleteCincytiger - I'm very slowly getting better (old people don't heal as quickly). Still stay exhausted all day... which should make for a fun double-shift tomorrow. Thanks for asking.
Are people still bringing up the Dansby thing? He has said himself that the reason he says his high school is because everyone knows he went to Auburn. He just wants to give his high school some pub.
ReplyDeleteapplicable
ReplyDeleteMTD and Jet, good points by both of you. I still would have liked to see what would have happened with McCoy in for the whole game. Going in, I thought Bammer was better and that McCoy was TX's only chance, so once he went out, I knew it was over. Actually, when I turned the game on, TX was already on their 2nd offensive series, so after watching for a second, I noticed a different QB in, then said, "No effing way!", then knew it was over.
ReplyDeleteAll games are full of ifs and buts. The way you tell who wins is look at the scoreboard and when the clock says 00:00 and the score reads team A 14 team B 13. Team A wins. who lost the ball the most, what players finished the game who had the most yards etc. does not matter.
ReplyDeleteFSJ, you can't tell me that you didn't immediately feel better about your chances once McCoy went out.
ReplyDeleteI have no doubt Tx would have beaten UA-T with McCoy playing. I was raised to think properly like that.
ReplyDeleteAnd I hate UA-T.
CH- I think Thornton is off, it lower and falling from everything i'm reading.
ReplyDeleteAnyone else want Auburn to win tonight, but know deep down that we will probably get beat by 20? Then Saturday we could lose by 40! Any chance Lebo gets let go before the end of the year.
ReplyDeleteTHT, are you saying i'm more reliable than Colt McCoy? :)
ReplyDeleteDigger- In Team A-3, Team B-2, does Team A count the victory and do fans care about the win? :)
ReplyDeleteScott Chocolate...
ReplyDeleteI felt pretty good about our chances when Cadillac and Ronnie Brown didn't run on the field in 2002 as well...
Its not like he got hurt playing pickup basketball the week before the game..
He was knocked out of the game.
Besides, when did UA-T earn anything on their own? They either get it by cheating or by other nefarious means. At least that's what I was taught as a young child.
ReplyDeleteI did NOT feel good when Stan White was knocked out of the 1993 game.
ReplyDeleteI didn't either, FSJ!
ReplyDeleteFSJ, you know I'd be just as happy as you are if that had been AU instead of UAT in that game. I'm just saying that I would have much rather seen them at full strength with their team leader and former Heisman front-runner in the game instead of a freshman playing his only meaningful football of the season in the MNC game. Without a better-than-average passing game, I don't think TX stood a chance. They might not have anyway.
ReplyDeleteSupposedly Skip Holtz to USF..
ReplyDeleteI think Skip is a good coach, but I think he would do better moving into a school like UT, where recruiting is a big easier. That being said not a bad hire for USF.
ReplyDeleteEddie
ReplyDeleteyes
:<)
I am so sorry.
ReplyDeleteI didn't mean anything by it, I was only asking a question.
Eveidently it was a very dumb question.
In 2002, we still had Jason Campbell.
ReplyDeleteIn 2009, the only offensive players Texas had left that were worth a darn were Shipley and the other WR's. Hard to get them the ball w/o a quarterback.
Also, you can't tell me that Colt getting knocked out didn't have some effect on the Texas defense.
I'm not one of those guys who thinks that had Colt stayed in, he definitely would have beaten Bama. Nor can Bama fans claim that it wouldn't matter whether Colt got hurt or not.
Nobody (I mean Nobody) knows, though I don't blame Colt for having confidence in himself that he would have gotten it done.
No dumb questions.
ReplyDeleteVegas will not put it on the big board, but will give you odds if asked and will take your money.
missinit
E-Bro, gettin' my back! Take that, FSJ!
ReplyDeletemissinit - check the London bookies, they will take bets on anything
ReplyDeleteok, AU's current commit list includes 22 slated for the 2010 class. That leaves room for 3. AU is targeting more than 3 people. Who are the likely non-qualifiers amongst AU recruiting commits/targets? Any news on that front?
ReplyDeleteTHT i think we'll go juco if we don't get who we want. I hear thornton is off our radar now but a former ut commit that is a teammate of an AU commit may be someone we could look to. If not i think we'll go the JUCO route. I think there will be one wildcard sign on signing day. Any way you hash it this is the most outstanding recruiting class on paper we've had in a while.
ReplyDeleteE-bro back in my younger hot headed days like from 1959 thru 1981 I played the what if so many times my head hurt. Would pick arguments with bama friends and working associates and never ever back down. BUT all the scores remain the same here almost 30 years later.
ReplyDeleteJust can't put my heart into it any more.
We may or may not have room to oversign by the allowed 3. I doubt we will ink 6 more players.
ReplyDeleteSeanzie- I bet we ink 27-28 players
ReplyDelete2 won't qualify and 1-2 may greyshirt
Thanks for the Fulmer post Jay. Why do I get them impression that Fulmer was trying to describe everything Kiffikin wasn't. Yes, it does seem that Fulmer is looking to do something, whether it be to roast an AD or become an AD.
ReplyDeleteWe'll see if integrity is making a comeback or not with the ut hire.
ReplyDeleteDigger...that was more or less what I was saying.
ReplyDeleteBama won the game. That's that. I understand when Bama fans take offense to others saying that with Colt McCoy, Texas definitely would have won.
I also understand when a Texas fan gets annoyed when someone says that even if Colt had played on, Bama still would have won.
Nobody knows. The game certainly would have been different, but the result might not have been. That's the broader point I was trying to make.
Bama's got nothing to apologize for. Neither does Colt McCoy and Texas.
Eddie, who is the other guy that you know, not Delaine?
ReplyDeleteI would imagine the punter would be the greyshirt candidate.
ReplyDeletemccoy owns bama if he does't get hurt, just sayin.
ReplyDeleteFulmer does not need to be the UT AD.
ReplyDeleteFirst of all there would be more mattress burning b/c fully 1/2 of the fans are tired of him.
Secondly: He really isn't qualified to run that large of an organization in 2010. He was a football coach only and doesn't have the business training or mental tools to do what is required now-a-days.
Of course if they were to hire him ...we could watch more train wrecks!
you guys seen the lane kiffin "fired" video from youtube, i think it is hilarious but there is some "coarse" language.
ReplyDeleteHas there been a Hitler Youtube made of Lane Kiffin leaving yet?
ReplyDeleteUsually by this time of year, there's substantial info about which recruits are likely bound for prep/juco. I haven't heard any of that talk this year. IF we signed all the current commits plus the likes of Lattimore, Whitaker, Mack, & Lemonier (I can dream), at least one of our signees would be grey-shirt/prep/juco. Just wondering who might fall in that category.
ReplyDeletenot yet that i've seen. There's some great stuff over on Auburntron.com, be warned of lewd behavior.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Seanzie. Didn't see your reply before I posted.
ReplyDeleteBama won. Bama would have won regardless.
ReplyDeleteSaban sat on the lead (Tubs style)and tried to stuff the run. The young Tx Qb got comfortable and snuck a few passes past the run D. Bama then dialed up the coverage and pass rush and then crushed them.
As for Colt's observations, the Bama D would have adjusted/disquised. It happens all of the time. You don't successfully play defense in the SEC all season without being able to adjust.
I love Colt and hate Bama, but when I take my biased glasses off, that is what I see.
Hoopie - PUT YOUR GLASSES BACK ON!
ReplyDelete
