Quick recruiting update

Hey everyone. Just ran across a story off SuperPrep.com that I think you'll find interesting ... provided you have a subscription to the Scout.com family of services.

If you don't, here's a basic review:

Two of Auburn's top targets -- DT Jeffrey Whitaker (pictured) and OL Shon Coleman -- visited Miami this weekend. One of Miami's committed players, a DT from Chicago named Jeffrey Brown, was asked to assess the uncommitted prospects who visited Miami this weekend.

Brown believes Auburn fans will be happy with Whitaker's final decision.

Brown believes Auburn fans will be unhappy with Coleman's final decision.

ALSO: A fullback out of Mobile by the name of Jay Prosch committed to Illinois this weekend, but told the Illinois Rivals.com site that an offer from Auburn could change all that. Looks like we have identified one of the Tigers' backup plans.

ANOTHER NOTE: Our friends at The Cats' Pause (Kentucky's Rivals.com site) report that Louisiana cornerback Patrick Swilling Jr. may be planning to visit Auburn after National Signing Day. I haven't heard his name before today. He's a two-star player with offers from LSU, Tennessee, Ole Miss and others. Sounds better than a backup player.

Jimmy said...: With UNC, Duke, UCLA all having trouble really speaks to the changes in ncaa basketball today. ULCA is struggling mightily. You really have to have a backup plan if you do not sign a one and done or have injuries.

This all get me steamed about the firing of Ellis. Did I read he may take his team to the tourny this year. Who would of thought he gets to the tourny before Auburn would. I think Cliff is only behind Sonny and Eaves as Auburns Best coach; 11:17 PM

Asking FSJ for a review of the iPad is like asking Finebaums callers for a review of Bammer. He's a fanboy. It's not objective.

I'm a fan of quality stuff, and think apple usually does good stuff (I have a bunch of Mac products, but am no way an applehead. PCs work, too, for me). That being said, I don't like it. It's a completely pointless piece of equipment, and apple's lockdown of sotware and hardware options make it inferior to your laptop. I have a similar complaint about the iPhone.Screw them and their control issues.

Also, multitasking doesn't exist. For a device that's supposed to replace all personal electronics, this is a major fail (and will surely be fixed in generation 2). I can't read a website and listen to music at the same time, quickly switch between apps, or anything else.

Finally, there is no usb. The fact that you need adapters and such is garbage for a device like this. I expect that to be fixed, too.

That being said, it's beautiful. Finding a better looking device would be difficult. The display is A+(though I'd like to see them ass the eInk feature that Kindle has on later generations if they can figure out a way to make it work...reading will hurt your eyes after some time), and it appears to be beyond user friendly. The price point is shockingly cheap, and everyone will think you're a fancypants hipster when you carry it around.

I won't be getting one...yet. I found the iPod to be crappy for a few generations before finally becoming an enthusiast, and expect this to be similar.; 8:27 AM

They're light, super portable, and basically made for people who only use their laptops for email, internet, and very light computing. I can't get to it today (I'm on my phone all day), but I'll try and look some stuff up for you.
