at 7:47 CST I was up on my old PC and the keyboard just stopped working for no reason.
So I come downstairs and boot up the Macbook, then promptly drop it on a hard floor. It works just fine. I didn't mean to inflict the punishment on it that the PC deserved.
Michael - are you ready for pages 2 & 3? I can paste real quick then delete after you've read them. It's the least I could do for your efforts at making me a toxic omelet.
And THT, I make your omelets for free. I don't appreciate it when you show up in the comments sections complaining about free content. If you don't like mushrooms, then pick them out!!
Mr. sportswriter really a great article. I do enjoy these insight articles on Auburn players. Could you write a burning letter to Jacobs about the complete failure of Lebo, I am not sure he is paying attention.

In all seriousness, it will be shocking if Lattimore doesn't announce for USC Tuesday night. As I was told tonight by a real source with some knowledge of the goings on, Lattimore has made too many visits to USC, made too many close contacts and friends and felt way too comfortable there not to make it his home for the next three or four years.
nope, not going to be at the game tomorrow. we're expecting a blizzard here in east tennessee. so, we'll be snowed in the next 2 days. yippee. more MADDEN10 for me. :)
JGT missed the game cause wifey out of town. Jet's Babysitting Service needs to step up so our coverage of AU sporting events, however miserable they are, will not be interrupted.
Minister of Hate???? I love it!!! Good spot(s) on SuperSport 930. I hadn't had the opportunity to listen before today, but dang...those guys are pretty entertaining. Just wanted to pass the props along to you Jay. Have a pleasant weekend, and War Eagle! P.S. Have fun in Duncan, SC next week.
Thursday night our forecast was 10-11" of snow. I doubted. Last night, forecast revised to 5-6" of snow. I still doubted. Just a few miles south of us may get 1/2" of ice. That sounds more like what we'll get stuck with. Although almost a foot of snow would have been SOOOOO much fun.
Tar Heel, you're like me. Whenever they forecast snow around here, I say, "I'll believe it when I see it" while everyone else is all a-buzz about the coming snowfall. Guess who's usually right?
It is a good day today, because it is Friday and I'm being shuttled back and forth from Coke HQ to Bottler HQ which means Beer Thirty will come quickly.
LIGHT RAIN OR SNOW IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN FALLING THIS AFTERNOON... CHANGING TO MAINLY SNOW WITH SOME SLEET POSSIBLE AT TIMES AND INCREASING IN INTENSITY THROUGH THIS EVENING. THE SNOW MAY BE HEAVY AT TIMES TONIGHT. THE PRECIPITATION IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN TO DECREASE THROUGH SATURDAY.
* ACCUMULATIONS: SNOWFALL AMOUNTS OF 4 TO 9 INCHES ARE EXPECTED.
G, not sure you answered my question from a couple of days ago. I had asked if you were going to SC for Latt's announcement because you were pretty sure we are getting him?
My sources say it's pretty much a lock and after Chizik visits today there won't be any doubt.
I was in Maryetta Jawja in Jan 2000 and we got winter thunderstorms. Raleigh got all-time record snowfall of over 20" in about 12 hours. That set a record for 24 hours. Heck, it set the record for a whole month.
Since we moved here in Aug 2000, we had a 9" snow and a couple of 4-6" inch snowfalls and everything else has just been sissy snow.
Luv, the ice is why everyone is freaking out. i went to the grocery this morning before work to avoid the madness. it should be a good lazy weekend. i'll be playing PS3 & watching AU/Senior Bowl. good times.
are some recruits (coleman, jones, howard) slipping away? Sorry if you already talked about it. Haven't read anything lately. What do all of your moms think?
Charles Goldberg wrote "The dominos could start to fall as soon as today on the defensive line if Byran Jones of Junction City, Ark., announces his choice, which will either be Arkansas or Auburn."
So, is Jones scheduled to announce today? Or is Goldberg just hypothesizing?
THT...concerning my trip through time yesterday, apologies for speaking the Northern tongue and calling it Antietam, but I did so b/c that's what the actual national park is called.
Now, had you asked me what the bloodiest single day battle in the Civil War was, I would have of course responded Sharpsburg.
I'm well versed in all things Civil War after a childhood spent obsessing over it. That includes the Southern and Northern name game when it comes to what battles are named after.
But yes, Sharpsburg was amazing, but I already knew that as I had been there before. It's sobering to stand in the Sunken Road.
I'd also suggest you make it down to Harpers Ferry sometime if you haven't. The place is steeped in history, whether it's John Brown, the Civil War, Jefferson Rock, etc. Amazing location as well.
Harrison...it appears the Coleman hysteria seems to be dying down. There are some indications Howard may be off the radar if he goes to UK this weekend, as in he no longer has an offer.
Hi E-Bro - glad you're back safely. LGG Byron got me hooked on history; he's a huge fan of military history in particular. We took a trip to all those sights about 6 years ago. It absolutely amazes me what our ancestors went through...all because of an imperial tyrant and a bunch of egotistical aristocrats.
Harrison, there have been no on-the-record comments from Coleman since his visit to Auburn. There is rampant speculation, most of which is coming from the Bama side of things. We knew he was going to take all of his visits. Until he comes out and says otherwise I would have to imagine he sticks with his committment.
A very good source says that he talked to people close to latt and coleman. Both are coming to Au. Jones will sit down with his parents today and figure things out. He plans to announce on Tuesday. The coaches have backed off of Howard and are ok if he goes to Clemson, which tells me they are really confident that Latt will be signing.
Another way to combat this is to bring back public hanging. No a political view here (since that is off limits) but we have gotten to soft. As we get softer our crime rates go up.
I get so angry every time I hear anything about a crime against a child. It should not be tolerated. I promise if someone ever harms my FAUWG I will not longer have access to this blog...if you know what I mean.
I lived next to Heath Evans in college for a couple years. I saw a lot of fat offensive lineman's butts during that time. Some funny Heath stories too, but he is too nice to have any bad stories
Man, y'all have discussed a lot of stuff since I last logged on. Here's my input on what I missed:
- the Pikes were known for fighting while I was at AU. Always a danger of getting caught in the middle of a scrap at their house (or if they were around and in the majority). - In & Out burgers are pretty good, but I've had plenty that are better, including HK. Their fries suck. - AU's bball 2nd halves remind me of 2008 fball 2nd halves. - Rush (the band) and Sonny Smith are both enjoyable to listen to. - I've heard a lot of positive buzz about both Tate & Coleman at the Senior Bowl, particularly Coleman.
Speaking of sex crimes, did you see what's going on in Haiti? Makes me sick, sick, sick. Precisely why, if the rumors are true about what went on in the Superdome after Katrina, I will never step foot in that place.
I didn't know there had been a discussion on the Pikes. Yeah they loved to fignt. I actually got kicked out/banned from Bourbon Street for getting into a fight with them. They always started crap.

ReplyDeleteJay G Tate's excellent THREE page article on Cam Newton
and
an anonymous interview with Gus Malzahn who spoke at the AFCA meeting in the Gump yesterday.
Great article Mr. JGT. I always thought his dad wanted him to go to MSU. Auburn will be good for CAM and I hope CAM is good for Auburn.
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday!
In the article about Malzahn, he said that recruiting in the SEC is different than any other conference. How is it different?
ReplyDeletei will NOT be rectangular today!!!!
ReplyDeleteWellp, my reading of the Cam Newton story ends with him ending up in Blinn, Texas. Curses!

ReplyDelete23-0 Jay G.
ReplyDeleteGeez, give us some credit.
Kornblut is an idiot. He was saying all kinds of things about Mack too.
ReplyDelete90% and rising for Latt...mark it down.
just what I was thinking, WERK. Too chicken to say it.
ReplyDeleteWoo-hoo ..saved from rectangularity

why do people listen to talk radio when they could listen to Rush?
ReplyDeleteRush is always a good choice. How about another Canadian power trio - Triumph?
ReplyDeleteProgramming note: I'm still going to S.C. for Lattimore's announcement.
ReplyDeleteScottie, are you going to the basketball tomorrow?
ReplyDeleteJGT - please give Phil Kornbut our regards
ReplyDeleteThe Iron Bowl of hoops?
ReplyDeleteI bet Scottie will B. there.
Tar Heel, you are talking about the rock band, aren't you?
ReplyDeleteI'll get a HABOTN® exclusive interview with Phil Kornblut if he's there.
ReplyDeleteLUV - at 9:18, yes
ReplyDeleteTriumph! Tell 'em to play some Triumph!
ReplyDeleteYeah, I just turned it on and heard it and figured out why you were making the reference.
ReplyDeleteWe're going to the game tomorrow too. After the way they've looked lately, I'm not looking forward to it. It probably won't be good for my temper.
ReplyDeletenope, not going to be at the game tomorrow. we're expecting a blizzard here in east tennessee. so, we'll be snowed in the next 2 days. yippee. more MADDEN10 for me. :)

Jay G scoffing at recruiting anguish.
ReplyDeleteJet - time for you to step up and do some babysitting
ReplyDeleteYep, Jet needs to provide the services of "Stewardess" for Homer.
ReplyDeleteWE WANT TO KNOW!!!

ReplyDeleteJGT missed the game cause wifey out of town. Jet's Babysitting Service needs to step up so our coverage of AU sporting events, however miserable they are, will not be interrupted.
ReplyDeleteStanwyck: Do you own rubber gloves?
ReplyDeleteFletch: No, I have a lease with an option to buy
they need to stop talking over Rush
ReplyDeleteIs the segment always that short?
ReplyDeleteI thought maybe they talked for an hour.
ReplyDeleteit's usually 2 segments, so around 30 mins minus commercials.
ReplyDeleteBelieve me, it might be in our shared interests to send Wifey on sporadic trips to coincide with AU basketball games.
ReplyDeleteWe want Jay G to retain his sanity.
Jay looking forward to Duncan SC. Could not get a flight so he will be driving through beautiful Ga.
ReplyDeleteMoon RIVERRRRRRRRR!
ReplyDeleteenjoyed that, JGT. I'm going to crank up some Rush now.
ReplyDeleteFirst time I had a chance to listen, JayG. Fabulous radio with just the right amount of condescension.
ReplyDeleteAlso I would listen to a radio station that played 23 hours of Rush and 1 hour of Jay ALL THE TIME.
Scottie, I'm jealous. All we're going to get is a bunch of rain.
ReplyDeleteMinister of Hate???? I love it!!!
ReplyDeleteGood spot(s) on SuperSport 930. I hadn't had the opportunity to listen before today, but dang...those guys are pretty entertaining. Just wanted to pass the props along to you Jay. Have a pleasant weekend, and War Eagle! P.S. Have fun in Duncan, SC next week.
Scottie, I just checked the radar. It looks like you might more ice than snow. THAT I'm not jealous of.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Tate Sonny Smith is one of the really good guys. I enjoyed the Sonny and Wimp show when it was on.
ReplyDeleteWhat up peeps?
ReplyDeletejust listened to the Minister of Hate on the radio.
ReplyDeleteGood morning, Seanzie.
ReplyDeleteThursday night our forecast was 10-11" of snow.

Joshua, you're welcome to come back before next week.
ReplyDeleteinvisible airwaves crackle with life
ReplyDeleteWhere is the snow supposed to hit?
ReplyDeletehere's our little forecast map
ReplyDeletewe are at the top left corner of the Raleigh "R"
Not us, Seanzie. We will get nothing but rain.
ReplyDeleteAhhh, too bad. I love a good snow-fall. Keeps most people inside.
ReplyDeleteG, not sure you answered my question from a couple of days ago. I had asked if you were going to SC for Latt's announcement because you were pretty sure we are getting him?
ReplyDeleteMy sources say it's pretty much a lock and after Chizik visits today there won't be any doubt.
If you have my kind of luck, Tar Heel, the 2-4" line will move up.
ReplyDeleteno, we want it to move DOWN!
ReplyDeleteCH- why else would Jay G go to Bynes, SC? We know it's not for the sights.
ReplyDeleteNeither rain, sleet, nor snow can stop...
ReplyDeleteWhat about Beasley, JR?
ReplyDeleteSeanzie, the rain/snow line is right at the border of our states.
ReplyDeleteLuv, I'm actually headed to your neck of the woods this weekend to visit with the in-laws.
ReplyDeleteCH=B, I'm just going for the story. I honestly don't have any secret insider knowledge.
ReplyDeleteThen you should come to the b-ball game tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteI was in Maryetta Jawja in Jan 2000 and we got winter thunderstorms. Raleigh got all-time record snowfall of over 20" in about 12 hours. That set a record for 24 hours. Heck, it set the record for a whole month.

Which b-ball game? Auburn?
ReplyDeleteyup, Iron Bowl basketball tomorrow on the plains.
ReplyDeleteLuv, the ice is why everyone is freaking out. i went to the grocery this morning before work to avoid the madness. it should be a good lazy weekend. i'll be playing PS3 & watching AU/Senior Bowl. good times.
oops, Bradford, PA
ReplyDelete(Braddock is a Pittsburgh suburb near where we lived.... not that y'all noticed or cared)
LGG Byron and I were thinking of going to the grocery store after lunch purely for entertainment purposes.

Okay, that is all. Back to football.
How about that ESPNU student coverage last night. it was pretty bad but entertaining
ReplyDeleteHarrison, speaking of which, did anyone see the UT game the night before? The student they had for that game did an excellent job.
ReplyDeleteHarrison, very bad indeed but a couple of nice blondes.
ReplyDeleteI didn't see that UT game. Who plays Dance Revolution anymore anyway??
ReplyDeletetrue Norm
ReplyDeleteHarrison...it appears the Coleman hysteria seems to be dying down. There are some indications Howard may be off the radar if he goes to UK this weekend, as in he no longer has an offer.
ReplyDeleteI hear Lattimore is all but locked up, Chizik is visiting today to make sure.
ReplyDeleteByran Jones is 50-50 at this point. Arkansas offered one of his teammates which may throw a wrench into the Auburn plans.
ReplyDeleteso Coleman is still 100% percent Auburn like he said a week ago?

ReplyDeleteWhat were they saying about Tate? I hope my Dolphins draft him. They also have my Dolphins taking Mcclain.
Tate was doing a blocking drill where he was taking on DE's. he was putting them in their place. it was impressive.
ReplyDeleteAlas, I am still rectangular.
ReplyDeleteHave a good weekend, Hotties!
you too, Ephemeral.
