Seastrunk headed for Oregon
Hey everyone. Texas tailback Lache Seastrunk, who once was thought to be one of Auburn's top targets, today announced plans to play at Oregon.
Seastrunk attended Big Cat Weekend last summer. He endeared himself to the Auburn-hearted by taking a swipe at Alabama coach Nick Saban during the trip. He mugged for an Opelika-Auburn News cameraman who filmed BCW festivities at Toomer's Corner, pointing at LaDarius Owens and saying: ``Tell Nick Saban he's S.O.L."
Anyway, Auburn seemed to cool on Seastrunk after Arkansas tailback Michael Dyer committed in early November. It appears the Tigers believe South Carolina tailback Marcus Lattimore will collaborate more effectively with Dyer.
Just thought you might like to know ... the rest of the story.

now that's a flip!
Less than a week to signing day people! Glad to see Seastrunk go to Oregon...if he does become a beast, at least we won't have to face him!
W,
Pretty good flip.
Great job, not!
Wow, CincyT ... that's pretty sassy of you.
Great job, not? Oh, now I get it. Yea, great job, not.
War Eagle, all!
Hi-ho, it's off to work I go!
I couldn't resist. Walked into the office...refreshed the front page and noticed it was sitting on 198 comments...I had to flip it.
Why do I continue to listen to John Longshore?
Jet,
It is one of those sassy days!
Morning Hotties, from Martinsburg, West Virginia.
About to take a little trip through history and visit Charles Town, Harpers Ferry, and, time permitting, Antietam Battlefield.
In related news...I'm a dork.
Mr. S ... I presume that's rhetorical, but I'll ignore that presumption and say ... "I don't know why."
I gave up ... 15 years ago.
I've discovered that the usually rational, occasionally emotional, always entertaining exchange of ideas in places like HABOTN is preferable to the shrill shrieks and disingenuous drivel of the garden variety talk show host and the regular retinue of sycophantic callers.
anyway, on to the HATE. I HATE UAT...and can't wait to get Shon Coleman's official signature since they evidently think they have it wrapped up!
E-Bro,
I think it sounds like a great trip! I'm a dork, too. I love visiting historical sites. Have fun!
Sounds like a good time, I love things like that.
It looks like I'll be making a trip up to DC this summer, I'm way more stoked than I should be.
Jet - you need to tune in to The Gridiron Breakdown
Do we have a harmonious HABOTN today?
Was there ever a non-harmonious HABOTN?
ebro...
That sounds outstanding. I would love to do that.
viva la dork!
it was rather quarrelsome yesterday seanzie
Ah, I've been slammed all week, I've only been able to pop in every now and then.
What's the motto? One HABOTN?
Coleman is on his way to Miami. The kid is just getting the most out of the process while it lasts. Smart kid. I like him already!
JayG
Can you do me a favor and remove my nick from the front page of your blog?
So how are we all doing today? When will Jay G. schedule the State of the HABOTN address?
Evidently some are doing better than others RK.
Since I don't follow recruiting, who is better Seastrunk or Lattimore?
Who is better for us?
Aeronaut, you could always change your nick and then it wouldn't appear on the front page.
We've been hard after Lattimore. Word is we cooled on Seastrunk a while ago and were not expected to get a verbal/sign him.
Well one thing to come out of this is we'll find out who's getting the more reliable information... this time.
I'm just glad we're getting what seems to be quite a few early qualifiers, that are now in school ready to participate. We may have had this many or more before this year, but I didn't really pay attention before.
RK.
Just to clarify something to you, I didn't leave the last time because of you.
Anyways.. carry on. :)
Since the other dude didn't sign with us, Lattimore is better.
So much tention...so little humor
This from your resident DOM
Yesterday I went running to the Gadsden mall and into Victoria's Secrets, the ad said "Panties Half off" and I just had to see this!
Drats they were talkin about the price.
Is there any relationship between CincyT's low cholesterol diet and her newly acquired sassiness?
Probably so. What a conundrum for her Hubby:
Healthy living = more sass = longer sassy living.
Life can be so complicated.
Gadsden has a mall?
ehyou O yea built in a swamp many years ago.
E-Bro - we call it Sharpsburg. Incredible history there.
Good morning Hotties.
10-11 inches of snow predicted by Sat. night. I'm a doubter.
Aero ...I realize that you are in a tense, serious environment.
American demeanor has shifted in the past few months to a "general laugh at ourselves attitude".
We've got massive unemployment, gridlock in Washington, Tiger Woods in sex addiction camp and NBC executives playing musical chairs with the late-nite lineup.
All we can do is laugh at it.
Hopefully you can grasp that humor from afar ..it may help.
poop
Michael said poop... and wasn't kidding
Or ....we could just poop.
I gotta some poop jokes, but don't want to risk the banhammer. They never work in mixed company anyway.
I am sassy.
Is it true that I have been providing too much content for the hotties? If so, I will try to scale it back.
Although my mom has a lot of recruiting scoop. She's a regular Jaybar (RIP)
I read that the Pakistani pres slaughters a goat every day to ward off evil spirits. I see a great business opp for someone that's got goats...
wtc, thanks for the info, I thought it was early for the NCAA for granting waivers. That's why I asked ... this time of year it's hard to say "my" information is the only correct information
Aero,
I didn't figure it was my fault, however I didn't figure last time was my fault either. We all make decisions.
Seriously though, why leave every time you have a big disagreement with someone?
Hoop, I don't want anyone to need 3 days cooling period (followed by shots at me.) Too melodramatic and sensitive.
I don't want to spoil the fun or the family atmosphere here, and my presence makes it bad for the community here.
I don't have any problems with anyone.
As far as tensions about my job is concerned, well it's my job. Like an oncologist I wish the situation didn't exist but it does, so I do what I can to fix it. I'm good at it.
I don't like any of you...Seriously.
:-P
michael's not kidding
fsj is
I lawn mowered a box turtle once. It was in tall grass and I didn't see it. Brought a whole new meaning to turtle on the half shell.
Hey FSJ, have you seen this? (slightly risque)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lsjU0K8QPhs
I wonder if Seastrunk will go to Oregon the easy way and pick "Banker from Boston" or will he live on the edge and pick "Farmer from Illinois."
LMAO!
Michaela funny vid ....so FSJ is selling Ipads?
I'd rather be an Oncologist.
Cincy - they stole my diet
Eat ice cream every night and stay thin
only difference is the word "moderation" should never be used in the same sentence with ice cream.
Yeah, I am guessing no one at Apple watched MadTV (which isn't that bad. I mean, does anyone watch MadTV?)
I told y'all last night and it doesn't appear that you listened - the sky is falling. Panic is highly recommended.
Norm,
Since all is going to end, should I skip out on the Gov't Mule concert I'm going to tonight, or just enjoy the show like it's the last one I'll ever go to?
WERK - I really don't know the right answer to that. I've heard of that group but couldn't tell you anything they do. So, I guess, I'd say go on and go. With your foreknowledge of the situation related to the sky, go on and sit front row center and dare someone to confront you.
rk - my mom says you should go.
WERK, that should be a good show, especially at the Ryman. Are you going to be in B'ham or Nashville next month for Clapton?
Scott,
I'm going to the Clapton show in Atlanta on March 9th.
Cincy is sassy.
Harrison is classy.
Michael, because he hangs out with goats, is nasty.
Norm is a jack@$$y.
Glad I could clear that up for you.
Just spoke with Chad Simmons, who runs Southeast recruiting for Scout.com.
I'll post those comments around 2 CST.
"I'm going from ashy ... to classy." -- Ashy Larry of The Marcy Projects
Jet - one, perhaps two of those are simply not true.
Ashy Larry is no Leonard Washington
So anyone think there is a sinister plot behind this Shon Coleman business. As in he and Nicky cooked it up that he stay committed to AU the entire time and at the last minute declare for the Crimpzun?
You want this roll? You're gonna have to shoot me.
I'd love to have Shon Coleman, but... even without him, our O-line class is stacked. Am I the only one not that worried about him leaving? Will it even be a knock on Auburn if he doesn't come? Is bama's o-line class as good as ours? Maybe he goes there for less competition.
So yeah, I would love to have Coleman, but dude's got to do what he's got to do, and I ain't gonna let it disappoint me none.
Michael...at the end of the day, I want kids who want to be here. With out without Coleman, we will have a great class. We have immediate contributors to help with O-line depth already on campus. I'd love to have him sign, I won't shed a tear or complain if he does sign with Bama.
My post before last was just an example of the ridiculous talk and rampant speculation occurring this time of year.
I don't know (and don't care) who's returning on the UA-T o-line, but they have only 2 commits for the OL, neither highly rated.
Coleman is 100% committed to AU. He'll be a Tiger!
I get the feeling that Chiz ain't gonna be too tolerant of the vertically challenged.
Jet, you mean white men who can't jump because they have their pants on the ground?
I don't think it's possible to jump in a Sansabelt Suit.
If the Great One jumps high enough he will be able to reach the top of the Dinning table.
But does he have the power?
No, Sponge, I mean the coach that's going to star in the new TLC reality series "Little Coach, Big Jack@$$"
THT, my husband thinks ice cream cures all too! Last night my daughter's boyfriend decided to break up with her via text message no less around 11:00. After about an hour of crying, I heard the garage door open. My husband went to the grocery store and came home with ice cream and fudge syrup. We ate ice cream and watched a movie. It did make her feel better. It didn't help my weigh in today.
I see a red field and I want to paint it black.
http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/blog/dr_saturday/post/Eastern-Washington-literally-seeing-red-over-new?urn=ncaaf,216240
Re: the red field
FAIL!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm not Sponge, I'm Commish/Flesh Wounds, but I understand your avatar induced confusion (and miss my side girl too).
Kathy - that boy must be a coward.
Norm, aren't they/we all?
Comm'r ... get an appropriate avatar ... I get a little confused in my old age.
Yes, sir.
Commish - while that may be true; in my day, all breakups were in person. Face to face. Of course, back then, there was no texting, computers everywhere with sites like fb where you could update your relationship status. I'm an old guy, I'm 45. My F4* is much too young to date, but when he does, if I hear he breaks up with a girlfriend by any means other than face to face, he and I will be driving to her house where he'll apologize to her and her parents for how he mishandled it.
stupup, I'm with you on the red field.
While I think the red field looks really strange, I think it's a pretty smart idea for a school like that.
re:Red field,
How long before oregon trumps them all with 100388282727289939393 field combinations to be changed on a weekly basis?
Agghh!! The red field is burned into my retinas.
I do kinda like the red field. I'm weird, though; I also like Boise's field and the advantage it provides...However, I do hate seeing it on TV because it hurts my eyes.
Raise your hand if you realized that J.D. Salinger was still alive yesterday. No? Me, niether. He's dead now.
my dislike for the smurf turf is bases on the glare and the difficulty in seeing all blue players on it. They should make boise wear non-blue pants.
Peter
I snorted my smoothie when I read your comment about Oregon's field/
stu,
Of course, I was making a joke, but tell me that you would be completely shocked if Nike worked with the turf people to make that happen. You wouldn't. You'd think it was ridiculous, but you wouldn't be shocked.
What up everyone.
The thought of a red field makes me want so fruit punch to drink
PF - I thought you were out til Friday?
I was. I ended up not working on what I thought I would be today. I guess I'm a liar.
not a liar, just not a very good prophet.
you'd probably be an excellent weatherman.
We just need to go to the tiger stripes on the field.
Peter,
The fact Nike would be on board, makes it that much funnier.
Greatest Exchange Ever:
From the old Garfield and Friends cartoon
Garfield: You do know what liars get??
Mouse: Jobs doing the weather on TV.
On a rare, business-related note:
We are rolling out Saints and Colts chocolates for the big game. If you have any interest in these, please shoot me an e-mail.
Now, back to the Nike / wacky fields discussion...
Norm, you would think a 23-yr old would have enough respect for my daughter to have the courtesy to do it earlier that evening when they were together. He is a coward, and I hope I don't run into him anytime soon.
Kathy, what happened? Do some of the HABOTN men folk need to go after him?
it's time for a new thread. You know how I know?
I'll be right back.
Not really sure CH=B, but I think another girl might be involved. He denies it of course, but as the old saying goes, it walks and quacks like a duck! Her KD sisters are ready to take care of him for her. Eventually she'll realize that this guy doesn't deserve her. Seriously.....broke up with her via text message. How juvenile. I even bought him down for an Auburn game. I knew he was bad news when he pulled for Alabama during the Iron Bowl. I refused to take him to that game.
what? no new thread?
Two events are hardly more closely related than a new thread and a potty break.
Kathy - her ex is Lache Seastrunk?
How do you know THT?
I set you up nicely didn't I THT?
yep, couldn't resist.
I just noticed the defender that Lache just outran in the picture that accompanies this thread is doing a really good penguin slide. You can't teach form like that.
Oh the effect modern technology has on kids relationships today.
Jay G introduced me to the Texts From Last Night webpage and it's hilarious and sad at the same time.
Dudes who break up with girls via text message are tools.
I've never broken up with a girl, so I don't know what method I would use. I did get dumped in person, though. Not sure if I would have been upset if it was via text message. Maybe it would have given me something to be mad about which might have made the process a little bit better.
I kinda wish I had been dumped by text message once or twice. It would've made a silly situation hillarious.
I'm not a girl, though, and don't have feelings. Sorry about the toolbag, Kathy.
The whole breaking up by text message speaks to a larger issue. MEN handle their business.
It is okay if you want to break up, but give the lady the courtsey of doing it the right way.
Of course their are alot of boys masquerating as men that don't handle what they need to handle.
This comment has been removed by the author.
I often manipulated the situation so that the girl would break up with me.
Not saying it's right...
PK,
Still better than a text message.
I once convinced an employee that she wasn't really happy with us so she'd quit. That saved me a lot of paperwork because termination was definitely in her future.
Norm: I have a daughter (3) and I plan on initiating preemptive strikes on any suitors. No one is good enough for her, and he will eventually screw up, so why wait for cause? Fortunately, she has three older brothers to help me with the beatings. If all goes according to plan, it will only take one beating (any subsequent potential suitors will be too scared to ask her out even if Dad's in jail).
Stupup: Men are pigs. It's what we do. You can't change our nature, you can only give us Pavlovian "guidance" (see previous post)
