Lattimore makes his decision

Tailback Marcus Lattimore of South Carolina will play at South Carolina. He said so in a program held at his church in nearby Spartanburg, S.C.

His finalists were South Carolina and Auburn.

In an interesting twist, Lattimore was given a cloth bag from former Auburn back Stephen Davis immediately prior to making a decision. He pulled out an Auburn hat to the obvious disapproval of the crowd. Then he pulled out a South Carolina hat. The crowd roared with approval.

More to come.

  6. Is that dance music in the church?

  7. best wishes to him on all but 2 days in the coming years. I say only 2 because there is no way they will be able to win the east and play us in the championship game

  11. Good luck to him. He seems like a nice young man from a good family.

I hope Eltoro plants his @$$ for 6 yard loss on his first carry in Jordan Hare.

  12. Oh Well, we will beat his @ss for the next two years.

If they don't join ya, beat them.

  13. Did Stephen Davis really assist?

    ReplyDelete
  14. Decided after the last visit. Yep.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Then I hope he runs for 5000 yards and has a great NFL career.

  16. On to the next one

FSJ - Yes, actually pulled the hats out of a bag for him.

  18. He said Davis told him to go where his heart is. He (Davis) told him his heart was at Auburn.

    ReplyDelete
  19. That was interesting. IF S. Davis was hte one who helped him, then that is strange that he would represent USC in some fashion, when he is an AU man.

    Just sayin'.

But I did like his hat trick. Neat. And can't fault a kid for wanting to make a name for himself in his home state....

  20. The movie question about Amway is none other than the movie "Go."

    ReplyDelete
  21. One time, just one time, I want someone to do the hat trick and put on an Auburn hat.

As good as our class has been, we are 0-fer on the hat trick.

    ReplyDelete
  22. What?? Joey Matthews picked Tennessee over us?!?

    I'll never smile again.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Sidney Crosby had a hat trick for the Penguins last night.

  24. think we can steal Lache back???

    ReplyDelete
  25. I'll stick with my awesome strawberry shortcake

    ReplyDelete
  26. You got it Seanzie: "It's not Amway. It's Confederated Products. It's a different company." (Go).

I'm just glad Auburn has Dyer, who's neither Amway nor Conf. Products!!!

    ReplyDelete
  27. We don't want lache, far too messy

    ReplyDelete
  28. I don't know, DL, but wtc promised us we would be happy tomorrow.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Latt....hardly knew you. On to the next player.

Also, talked to E-Bro and I appologize if I seemed negative in any way about this class. I think this is a great class as is, even if we don't get another player.

  30. That's a great movie, Cmm'r.

  31. hey ya cannot have them all...

it would take all the fun out of it...

and at the end of the day they are kids.... and its a game.... I hope they all get a degree..

  32. Steve Spurrier did the cha-cha slide?

Yes, that was Stephen Davis. I didn't really have a problem with it. Now had this been between UAT and AU, I would have!

    ReplyDelete
  33. I am off work tomorrow but so is my wife. How do I explain to her that I have to watch the internets and TV all day to see what a bunch of 18 year old kids are doing?

    ReplyDelete
  34. Tell her you need to run some errands and go to the starbucks and hit up their wifi.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Lattimore didn't say Stephen Davis encouraged him to pick SC. Just told him to go with his heart. Sounded like he was pushing Auburn, though subtly, and not taking advantage of the confidence the kid placed in him.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Then when you get home, complain about all the errands you did and ask if you can do some 'crootin' research.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Someone describe the hat gimmick.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Harrison ... assert your husbandly authority as referenced in the Good Book.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Right. Davis did not encourage Lattimore to choose USC.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I just meant I would have had a problem with Stephen Davis participating in the gimmick if it were between AU and UAT.

    ReplyDelete
  41. wtc,

What do you know about a lineman named Kouandjio?

Apparently he just committed to UA.

    ReplyDelete
  42. take a 3 pound rabbit and a 10 inch hat..
put the rabbit in the hat before the show

when on stage pull rabbit from hat..

    that is the hat tick

    ReplyDelete
  43. seanzie - he pulled out an AU hat within which he had tucked a USCe hat

    ReplyDelete
  44. I think it is kinda funny when people get mad about this stuff... when you think about it, everyone we play did not choose Auburn...

    ReplyDelete
  45. So, is he saying that Chiz wouldn't do the cha-cha slide? Or that Spurrier did it better? I knew dancing would be an issue; in fact, I screamed it on the tarmac when he arrived!!! Don't believe me? Check the archives and GET SOME!!!

    ReplyDelete
  46. FSJ-
if that is true then Shon Coleman is not going to the Tide

    ReplyDelete
  47. I think Davis should have thrown a tantrum, called the kid a liar, and stormed outta there mutterin' "$&*@#$% looser cocks"

    That'd be AUSOME!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  48. Go pens!! I'm going up in April to see family and see the Pens play.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Are people mad in Pyongyang, DL? I think everybody's okay here.

    ReplyDelete
  50. I don't know about anyone else, but i threw a fist pump when i saw that auburn hat and quickly pulled out my "Obamanu just dropped the ball" face

    ReplyDelete
  51. FSJ - looks like y'all got a good one from Hyattsville, MD. Scout shows offers from lots of big schools, plus the likes of New Mexico and Alabama ;-)

New Mexico?!?!?! Where did that come from?

    ReplyDelete
  52. Speaking of Mexico! Hi Ron! Where ya been?

    ReplyDelete
  53. yes they are wery rangry...

    ReplyDelete
  54. So Mark McLemore has chosen SC. I figure after 15 years in MLB that he wouldn't be wanting to play college football.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Did they think he was going to pull out a UDRK hat?

    ReplyDelete
  56. Kouandjio is a 4 star OL from Maryland...looks to be pretty big...just not too sure on how athletic....but hopefully this means Coleman is a lock for Auburn?
