Auburn beats LSU, 74-59
Hey everyone. Frankie Sullivan, the Tigers' shooting guard, did not play today. He is not in uniform. Announcers from FSN report that Sullivan suffered a concussion in practice yesterday.

Boom.
Night.
Nice work.
TOGA TOGA TOGA TOGA!!
Molly got ice cream tonight while I was at work. Sometimes, life just isn't fair.
Too soon THT with the Avatar, I know your a Penguins fan, but... too soon
Yep, Jimmy. But Jet wasn't enjoying my previous avatar so I changed it. Probably just made things worse ;-)
I would have been very pleased for Sidney to have been a goat instead of hero yesterday, but I guess if the Canadians were to win, I can't think of a better choice for the hero.
wow, it's after 1 a.m. here and I just found the Olympics still going on.
G'moring Hotties!!!
I'm out the door to go take a test.
HATE! HATE! HATE!
Thought that was probably it, and I agree...except when they do suck ( see; Saban, Callipari, and Kiffin).
Good morning, Hotties!
5:25 is so early in the morning, but at least I can do the elliptical before I am fully awake!
And yeah, PF,the examples you offered do suck...
Good morning, Hotties! What a great game for the Lady Tigers' last game at BEMC. I'm so glad we went. They held the lead the entire time, with the smallest lead being 5 points. I don't know a whole lot about bball, but, for the most part, everyone seemed to have played well. They honored the senior class - KeKe Carrier - after the game. With so few seniors, I'm excited for next season!
They had a special recognition at halftime for all the women that have played there over the years. And, as usual, one person was glaringly absent. But, you better believe he was there Sat. night when they honored Bo Jackson. But, whatever...
Luv,
He was actually there for the gymnastics meet Friday night.
Cincy, I'm surprised. I bet you had a great weekend! I looked for you at the game yesterday.
We ended up coming home after the men's game Saturday night. My father-in-law got sick and we didn't want to take a chance staying with them. We spent Friday night at the condo, but Tylerson had a study group over Saturday night so we hated to put him out of his bed again :)
I hope your father in-law is feeling better. You missed a great basketball game! It's so nice to see a team play like a team. There doesn't seem to be any selfish players. They sure are gonna miss KeKe, though. She is such a presence in the paint - esp. against UK. She towered above everyone else. They do have West #20, who is 6-8. She's a freshman, so hopefully, she'll be able fill in the void.
Well, I was wrong about the Lady Tigers having the lead the whole game:
The Wildcats came out to a quick 4-0 lead in the opening 1:32 of play. However, the Auburn defense responded, holding Kentucky scoreless for the next six minutes as the Tigers opened to a 10-4 lead. Kentucky's Amber Smith connected on a 3-pointer at the 12:13 mark, ending the drought and setting off a five-point run to bring the Auburn lead to just one.
Well, Luv, I guess everyone else is sleeping in today :) Better get out and enjoy the day before the rain starts.
Yeah, where is everybody? Enjoy the day, Cincy! I'll be stuck in the hospital until 1:30.
It is freakin cold I my office...I keep missing keys because my fingers are frozen.
I'd rather it be cold at work than hot.
When I'm cold, I say I'd rather be hot. When I'm hot, I say I'd rather be cold. Hubby says I have about a 4 degree comfort zone.
Ben Tate apparently ran a 4.43/40 at the combine. The boy ain't slow.
Well, off to Bible study and then to meet my mom and dad who are passing through town for the afternoon. Won't see y'all till later tonight.
Don't have too many interesting discussions without me. But, do have a splendid day!
PF, hope you warm up soon. Got any little gift bottles? That would warm you :)
Over? Was it over when Sidney Crosby scored on Ryan Miller? Hell no. And it's not over now.
This act of Canadian aggression must be met with a proportionate response, preferably the 82nd Airborne dropping into Vancouver.
Jet - I wonder if our favorite 82nd member would be interested in making that trip.
Wait, he's retired from them now. Heck, it's Canada. A group of retirees ought to be able to drop in there and take it over before lunch time.
Every time thee announcer said 'Niedermeyer' during the hockey game yesterday, I'd jump up and yell 'dead!'.
Wang dang...
There should be a rubber game it's tide at 1 apiece now. Where is justice when you need it. Where is the sporting bunch when things have gone wrong.
Hate No. 1 Alabma Crimson Tide all sports.
Hate No. 2 Canadian Hockey.
digger bringing the Canadian hockey hate....I love it.
y'all crack me up with the Hab hate.
And Luv/Cincy - I wish I had been sleeping. I forgot to turn off the alarm since I didn't have to get up this morning. My ipod played nothing but my very VERY favorites, so I couldn't turn it off or go back to sleep.
If 2.0 can take a test on 3 hours or less sleep, I should be able to stumble through the day on 3 hours.
last week I determined that turning up the can of DC below my bottom lip was not efficient at getting that beloved beverage into my mouth.
Today, I learned that putting the can to the side of my mouth is equally inefficient... and equally messy.
I'm a spaz.
SEC Womens Basketball Tournament seed is set. And Auburn is 10th and will play Florida.
JGT when he wakes up could probably give us the whole bracket, or you could just peek at Evan's blog for it.
THT has a drinking problem.
Does anyone else the appreciate the ironic irony that the biggest thief of all time was named madoff? It is heartless, because a lot of people's lives were destroyed because of the guy, but I can't help but wonder who invests their money with a guy named madoff. Who's their lawyer; Dewey, Cheatem, and Howe?
Even better, Steve, is that Bernie Madoff attended UAT.
I love maple trees. And maple syrup.
just finished a long chat with 2.0. She is trying to determine where to travel during the 2 week gap between the end of her 7 month Florence education and a one week course in London.
I don't ever recall having such difficult decisions when I was her age.
The Swiss Alps are nice and not too far away.
Anyone who loves Maple trees and maple syrup must also love the Mapleleafs right?
THT, at that age, our biggest concerns were who was driving that night or when could we make a beach trip. At least that's how it was with my group.
Re: Mapleleafs... umm, no. I don't have strong feelings one way or the other for the Leafs. I certainly don't have a serious dislike for them like I do the Flyers.
I'm off to Burlington for some Zack hot dogs and to pick up something. Y'all have a great afternoon.
Austria is worth a visit. Vienna's one of my favorite cities.
Salzburg and Innsbruck are amazing as well.
Zack's home page
Zack's wikipedia page
Why are Greek immigrants good at making hot dogs?
http://www.bhamdining.com/gus-hot-dogs/
I think the guys who started Sneaky Pete's were also Greek.
Anybody else heard that Administration is high on John Brady to replace Lebo?
THT ...I would say 2.0's travel destinations would depend on her budget.
It's still cold in northern Europe, so Greece/Greek Islands or Costa del Sol(Majorca/Barcelona/Valencia) in Spain would be warmer.
Austria/France/Belgium would fill her schedule more economically while moving towards the Chunnel and England.
Hmmm ...different world now. We decided between the east or west coast of Fla. for class breaks. I couldn't afford overseas travel until I got out and got a good job.
Chris Low over at JG's future employer gave Tate some love for his combine performance.
Don Banks of cnnsi.com wasn't as kind ... saying after Ben's strong 40, the rest of his performance in the drills was "ordinary" and was indicative of his career at Auburn, which he described as having "flashes," but never putting it all together.
Jimmy ... I've heard nothing credible on that. I would question why we'd hire a guy who's coaching a middle of the pack Sun Belt team.
I've always believed that Brady was the unnamed coach who told Kevin Scarbinsky when Lebo was hired that Lebo was a good coach who wouldn't win because he wouldn't cheat. I could be wrong, but, in this case, I doubt it.
Peeps:
I'll have some engaging and exclusive SUBSTANCIO around 4 p.m. CST. I think you'll like it.
Piece until then.
I don't really care what those writers think. It's the NFL scouts that matter. What are they saying?
The only writers that truly know Tate are the ones that have been in Auburn and followed his entire career. The ones that just look at a highlight film here and there and just watch his performance at the combine have no idea the kind of RB he is.
Luv ... I presume they are writing what they're seeing with their eyes, and what their sources (scouts) are telling them.
Jay G bringing the Afternoon Delight.
Thinking of the substance's workin' up my appetite.
Norm, that's a little creepy.
My motto's always been; when it's right, it's right.
Why wait until the middle of a cold dark night when everything's a little clearer in the light of day?
And you know the night is always gonna be there anyway.
I wonder what the news might be. I wonder if Rollison might decide to give spring practice a shot and see how things come out, but I don't see that as likely.
ScoCho - the whole song is creepy.
And cheesy.
Toyota is telling dealers about a possible oil hose leak. There isn't a recall associated with it, but, surprisingly, Toyota may be getting more screwed.
Norm ... we know that "Afternoon Delight," "We Don't Have to Take Our Clothes Off To Have a Good Time," and "Undercover Angel" are on your iPod when you hit the pavement. You've always been a conflicted man.
Jet, you forgot "Telephone Man".
But you didn't, Norm.
My iPod "Running" playlist contains fair representations of Rush, Triumph, April Wine, Molly Hatchet, Skynyrd, Hank, Boston and the like. Now, I'm not saying whether or not I have any of the other songs previously mentioned included in the thousands of total selections.
Norm ... can't say I'm a Skynard or Molly Hatchet fan, but the others are top notch. Top notch!
none or our Toyotas are recalls, but I'm certain they no longer have any intrinsic value.
HOOPIE - Excellent suggestions. She has friends in Skopje, Macedonia she wants to visit. I don't want her going to Greece. Although she's tired of cold damp snowy/rainy weather, this could be her only chance to see any part of Scandinavia.
my ipod is loaded with Skynyrd, The Outlaws, CDB, Allman Brothers, Marshall Tucker, Louisiana Leroux, a handful of songs from all those Jacksonville bands... Atlanta Rhythm Section, Rossington-Collins, Blackfoot, .38 Special, Molly Hatchet... plus a little Wet Willie, Ozark Mountain Daredevils, and ZZ Top.
I also have some non-religious music on my ipod.
My Corolla is in the recall, but I'm not taking mine in. They really have no idea what the problem is.
Did I say what a great time I had the basketball game yesterday? We decided that we are going to go to more games next year. If we lived in Auburn - or a lot closer - we would get season tix.
Tar Heel, did I tell you that my doctor's (Tim Real) nurse is married to Lewis Ross, who was the drummer for Wet Willie? She told me the story of they met back in the 70s and then they drifted apart for over 20 years. They reconnected and realized they were still in love. Isn't that romantic?
Tate was in the top 3 of every category the RB's went through. He was a work horse at Auburn and provide to be very durable. He was never in any kind of trouble and by all accounts made good grades.
With that said I don't understand the lack of hype around him. Of course I'm going to be slightly biased, but he appears to be one of the better backs in this draft.
Jet, I YouTubed both of those songs. "Undercover Angel" wasn't quite as bad as I remembered it. "We Don't Have To Take Our Clothes Off" was worse than I remembered it.
Norm, agreed. The whole song is creepy. Still, the combination of your avatar and you quoting the lyrics made it extree creepy. Nothing could make it cheesier.
Luv - next time you see your doc tell him Mr & Mrs THT say hello.
I loved "Undercover Angel"! Must be a girl thing.
And he'll look at me and say, "Who the heck are Mr. and Mrs. THT??"
Scott Chocolate just lost brownie points with "'Undercover Angel' wasn't quite as bad as I remember it."
And Jet's in the doghouse for getting that horrific song stuck in my head. I'm going to wash it out with Deep Purple's Burn, so loud it will knock LGG Byron off his seat upstairs.
Scarily enough (or fittingly enough), if you look up "Telephone Man" on YouTube, there's only about one degree of separation from Jan Terri.
I remember that my cousin, who when we were kids, thought anything remotely dirty sounding was great, loved "Telephone Man".
lucky me.. I've got AAC and MP3 Burn files, so I get to here again! Twice is nice.
ScoCho, your cousin's thoughts on "Sugar Walls"?
THT, it's all relative. I remembered that song as being on par with the other songs Jet and Norm mentioned. It is actually only in the AA league of crappiness. The others are Major League, perhaps even All-Star level.
Rosie Jackson Browne
Ruby Kenny Rogers
ehyou - your avatar has a couple fitting the discussion. I made reference to one earlier today.
You've painted up your lips and rolled in curls your tinted hair.
Did I mention that the cousin is female? She probably liked "Sugar Walls" though. She had (and has) and amazing capability to like both really great and really terrible music. I can't complain too much. She went to school with one of the Rufino kids, so back when Rufino-Vaughn Productions used to promote all the concerts in B'ham, she used to get me some killer tickets.
2+BEASLEY!!!
He's great....weird, bizarre, extreme, but I like him.
Stranglehold comes to mind without looking.
ehyou - to keep you from looking, Wang Dang...
Oh yeah, Ted Nugent was probably the hard rock king of the thinly-veiled sexual reference.
Btw, it's been a whole 2 or 3 days since I listened to any Ted Nugent.
A selection from "Intensities in Ten Cities" just came up on my Ipod recently.
Red Headed Stranger with the preacher thing is way creepy. It always makes me think of Pale Rider.
How many other artists have "Wang" in at least two different song titles? If, by chance, Wang Chung has two or more, please remember that I said "artist".
I feel like I went to a rock concert and a sports blog broke out.
Uh, there's nothing veiled whatsoever with Wang Dang. Sheesh.
Pale Rider was excellent. Although I prefer Outlaw Josey Wales since he ridded the world of many blue coated slime.
I doubt "Ted Nugent" and "subtle" have ever been used in the same sentence.
CH=B, we can switch to movie quotes or beer, if you want.
If it bleeds, we can kill it.
topic du jour
See?
Jay on furlough again?
I agree THT. I self-dubbed an copy of Josey Wales to say 'crimson-legs' instead of 'red-legs'. I hate Bama.
Are you gonna pull those pistols or whistle Dixie?
My source of substancio is a little out of pocket at the moment, but he'll be with me soon.
This is lookin like 4:30 p.m. or so. Sorry about that.
It'll be here when you get back.
we're just chillin', Homer.
