Nell Fortner keeps 'em going

Hey everyone. Just a quick note to let you know that the Auburn waxed Florida in the first round of the SEC Tournament this afternoon. The final score was 74-61.

This is welcome news inside the locker room. The Gators beat the Tigers in double overtime a few months ago and players were more than a little salty.

So now they're less salty.

Guard Alli Smalley, a favorite of our own WarEagleGirl, led the way with 29 points today. Forward Jordan Greenleaf added 15 points.

Auburn plays second-seeded Kentucky tomorrow at 1:30 p.m.

  6. I've decided that I want to retire on a saltmarsh in either south Georgia or the lowcountry of Carolina. I've got 35+ years to either make it happen, change my mind, or die.

How is this relevant to the HABOTN? I don't need a reason, cause I'm me.

  7. almost 5:00 bout time to go home

  8. PF,
You mean we are supposed to have a reason to post things here? Whoops!

  9. hey is the gymnastics tomorrow night going to be in the coliseum

  10. PF - you should start collecting stuff related to that region.

  11. THT,
It might put off his retirement if he goes around buying those things. Hubby is worried I am delaying his retirement just buying a little furniture!

  12. JGT I watched most of the game. Auburn never trailed and looked really good. Ali was on her game from the start to the finish.

  13. Lurking...with a headache. No colds all winter, then right when we get into March and headed into a warm weekend...Boom!

  14. SC,
Eat some chocolate - it's good for everything. Sorry you aren't feeling great.

  15. Wonder how Ali and Tay would look on the same team?

  16. Wow, hard to believe it was 20 years ago today that Hank Gathers died.

  17. Where did everyone go? Pooped from a game last night and another one today? Got to build up stamina for playing multiple games in the tournament!

  18. Cincy - I was watching the Penguins beat the Rangers in OT. YEA!!!

  19. I hope the ladies keep their salt!! Beat Kentucky!

  20. Oh, also forgot to say that ALI is the woman!

  21. Can Nell coach the guys, too?

  22. Good morning, Hotties! Although if we don't do better with our blogging, we are going to called the coldies.
I've never seen us this slow! Hope everyone is off doing fun things. I am packing for Nashville. Have a wonderful day!

  23. Cincy- When is the last weekend you stayed home? You are on the go! :)

    ReplyDelete
  24. Off doing fun things? Well, I suppose that depends on your interpretation of "fun". I'm not doing anything fun currently based on how I like to use the word.

  25. Random Rant- I love people that say they love X Person as a person, but not as a coach, but they know absolutely nothing personal about the guy. Sorry, this statement just blows my mind sometimes. For all they know, Person X could be a child molester with a crack problem.

  26. Good morning, Hotties! TGIF!!!! What a great performance by the Lady Tigers yesterday! Hopefully, they can do it again today, but KeKe HAS to stay out of foul trouble.

  27. Finally, a little breath of life on the blog!

    Eddie,
I don't remember! It seems like all of my trips have come at the same time. This weekend I am meeting my bestest friend from Cincinnati for a girl's weekend in Nashville, plus I get to see my daughter!

    Luv,
Don't you have today off? I was thinking you said that earlier. Have a great day if this is true!

  28. My sister just sent me a magnet that says, "I want it all and I want it delivered." I'm not sure what she could be getting at. :)

Have fun today! Talk to you when I get to Nashville. Hopefully I will be able to see the girls' game.

  30. FYI, 'The Office' baby episode last nite was hysterical.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Cincy, no. That was last Friday!

  32. Scottie,

The whole scene where they are trying to distract Pam from having the baby was awesome.

  33. Congratulations, AU Women!

    Please stand and sing:

Here we go, Auburn, Here we go...

  34. Quit with the spoilers. I should get around to watching it 6 months from now, and want to be able to enjoy it.

  35. The peaks and valleys of life are interesting. Dealing with tragedy at the same time as seeing my dreams fall into place leaves me confused. Somehow, though, I think most things happen for a reasorn, and those kind of events happening together is a way of providing balance.

  36. Nova,

Is your commute messed up this moring?

    ReplyDelete
  37. Radio appearance forthcoming?

    ReplyDelete
  38. Eddie ...

You're 6:47 post is true. I mean we all think we like Norm as a person, and not as a poster, but the truth may be that he's a meth-addled thief who scams old people with emails from Nigeria.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Jay G,

I'm not even going to ask if you're covering the games against Miami this weekend, but are you going to be onsite for the Classic next week?

    ReplyDelete
  40. I'm not meth-addled.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Well, what addled are you? Jet may sometimes be confused about the details, but I doubt he'd lie.

    ReplyDelete
  42. PF - having known Jet for 30+ years, I can assure you that he's no stranger to a lie.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I dunno. After all, you're addled by something. Maybe you heard him wrong dozens (hundreds?, thousands?) of time.

    ReplyDelete
  44. The Office was very funny but I think I laughed more during Community. White Aved/ Brown Joey was hilarious.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Chevy Chase's line about "either way it ends in an explosion" was great.

    ReplyDelete
  46. I heart the AU Women's basketball team. Let's win the rest of them.

    ReplyDelete
  47. I like Mark Richt as a person. As a coach he runs an un-disciplined football team, and as dean of the SEC, is still looking for an identity as a head couch.

    ReplyDelete
  48. free agency in the NFL started at midnite last nite. our boy Karlos Dansby is a free agent & looks to be a hot commodity. word on the NFL Network last nite said the Dolphins may sign him. that would be AUsome. my fav 2 AU NFL players on the same team!

    ReplyDelete
  49. Mark Richt is a child molester.

    ReplyDelete
  50. I may not have proof, but Eddie said it's possible.

    ReplyDelete
  51. I've had several conversations with WVU's coach, and he seems like a better person than coach.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Mark Richt may be a child molester, but I still like him as a person.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Knowing someone as a coach is just as absurd. Who here is qualified to coach at a big time college level, much less evaluate a coach's ability? Those comments are common, and nobody complains about them.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Gene Chizik is a proven loser. His record as a head coach proves it. Sure, he's had marginal success at Auburn, but so has Lebo. Admittedly, he is at a disadvantage with that tiny indoor practice facility, but that's not really a valid excuse.

    ReplyDelete
  55. I know Gene Chizik as a person from what I have read about him, PF, and I am quite certain he would make a good head coach.

    ReplyDelete
  56. If any of the head coachesbin Alabama were child molesters, I think Jay G would he all over it. This is a guy who interviewed LeXXXus once. He's a pro.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Do we "really" want to know our coaches as people?

Wouldn't that make it harder to get rid of their butts when they start losing?

    ReplyDelete
  58. Told you a new threadwas coming
