Hey everyone. I will be participating in
my weekly segment on SuperSport 930 out of Jackson, Miss., in a bit. That extravaganza began around 9:07 a.m. CST and is in progress. There will be a podcast later in the day in case you missed the fun.
We're talking about stuff.
1
ReplyDeleteZwei?
ReplyDeleteWoooooooooooooooooooo!
ReplyDeleteTo be the man...you've got to beat the man!
morning all
ReplyDeleteThis is better....
ReplyDeleteMy post from the previous thread...
ReplyDeleteDo we "really" want to know our coaches as people?
Wouldn't that make it harder to get rid of their butts when they start losing?
BIG UPZ JG.
ReplyDeleteHey scottie...I need to talk to you about something when you have a chance....work related stuff.
ReplyDeleteI need a robe like Ric Flair just to wear into work one day...that and his theme music when I enter.
ReplyDeleteFlair was the best..
ReplyDeleteAll of the others are ripoffs...
I've never watched a minute of Ric Flair, Hulk Hogan, or any other nationally known wrestlers.
ReplyDeleteJet..
ReplyDeleteI heard the State Senate was akin to a wrestling match the other day. I would have loved to have seen that.
Jay with the fasting substance and Fuji apples--great.
ReplyDeleteYou sound good on the radio, Jay.
It was all right ... I've seen better.
ReplyDeleteSo has Lowell Barron.
ReplyDeleteJet,
ReplyDeleteNo TKOs the other day?
Naw ... just some pointin' and fussin'.
ReplyDeleteI'll allow it.
ReplyDeleteFSJ- To answer your question. I think fans would like to believe they know their coach, but have no freaking clue what they are talking about. Getting close to someone as a fan isn't going to determine whether he is fired or not IMO, it's the money men and powers that be that are close with the coach and ultimately pull the trigger. Today I was reading several posts that say they Lebo the man just not the coach, and I call BS that they know the guy. Just a pet peeve of mine I guess.
ReplyDeleteJay picks AU to win 9 games next year.
ReplyDeleteEddie,
ReplyDeleteI agree...I don't know Nick Saban...and really could care less...
I'm always amazed at the folks that felt like they knew Bryant. Like you I call B.S. on that too.
...and I call BS that they know the coach.
ReplyDeleteagree FSJ...
ReplyDeleteMy post should have read "They like Lebo the man".
sweater meat?
ReplyDeleteNice.
Well played PF and agree there too. They just know results.
ReplyDeleteTo really know the man, you need to know the man's wife. Take Barbara Dooley for example Everything thinks Vince is one thing, but his wife exposes something much more dirty.
ReplyDeleteI hate it when people that didn't know the Bear say he was a full-on retard, it was actually quite mild.
ReplyDeleteSorry we didn't get into more Auburn discussion. I am working on a big story about Lebo and his future and what people think about it ... so at least you'll have that soon.
ReplyDeleteYay.
Seriously, though, this fasting stuff is tougher than I thought.
I think if Lebo has to win Saturday and get past the first round to have a chance.
ReplyDeleteI've cut down to three full meals a day.
ReplyDeleteDang, missed it. 790 doesn't archive that stuff do they?
ReplyDeleteI believe they do.
ReplyDeleteJay,
ReplyDeleteI've only given up one favorite item at a time for Lent, and that isn't always easy. What you're doing is much harder.
Can you eat on Sunday? I think that Sunday is always a feast day, even during Lent.
Speaking of knowing figureheads, Vince Dooley is now an idol of mine after some things he's done that have touched me personally in recent months. He's proven to me that he really does go out of his way to be a good person. I only wish he identified himself as an Auburn man still, but whatever.
ReplyDeleteFrom what I've been around him, I like Jeff Lebo as a person. I feel comfortable saying that.
ReplyDeleteJay G,
ReplyDeleteI still say it was Pink Floyd's "Time" and not "Comfortably Numb" that they played at the Gwinnett Arena show.
The "podcast" (it is not really, but that's what they call it) will be here when they get it loaded.
ReplyDeleteYou guys RAWK.
ReplyDeleteThat'll help me take away the moments that make up a dull day.
ReplyDeleteEddie,
ReplyDeleteI was around him a decent amount when he was here and he was always good to me.
He's a guy who I really thought would do well when he came down to Auburn, so I hate that it hasn't turned out that way.
I believe he's a good guy, but I don't believe that he's the right fit at Auburn. That being said, I'm not sure who would be the right fit for the men's hoops team.
For the first time ever, I wanted a UAT team to win yesterday. I wanted UAT's women's basketball team to beat UGA. I think UAT would be easier for the Lady Tigers to beat again than UGA.
ReplyDeleteSunday is always a feast day, except that you can't say "Alleluia"
ReplyDeleteAnyone else tired of working this week? I sure am.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I just booted up in a conference room and there is an unopened roll of Thin Mints, my favorite Girl Scout Cookie. I'm the only one here. It is one of the things I gave up for Lent. What is the meaning of said placement of said cookie?
ReplyDeleteSeanzie, I have only worked 2 of the last 10 days, so I am feeling well rested right now
ReplyDeletethin mints suck....mint is not candy
ReplyDeleteMint may not be candy, but it's awesome. How can you not like mint?
ReplyDeleteSeanzie, I'm so tired of working this week, that I actually took today off!
ReplyDeleteOnly 9 games JGT? I say we go undefeated!!! Of course, I'm looking through orange-colored glasses.
cause mint sucks, that's why i don't like it
ReplyDeleteSeanzie,
ReplyDeleteIt means you gave up the wrong thing...
...or maybe you're being tested. You should sacrifice your firstborn son, instead.
Who knew there were so many Catholics on the HABOTN.
Nobody really knows anyone. Do you think anyone really know the crazy stuff that goes through my head? Only 10% or so of it makes it out, luckily. People make a judgment about me from what my actions. And that is fair. As the old saying goes, "We are who we pretend to be." So going down from my wife who sees a lot down to the janitor lady who only sees me 30 seconds twice a week, a number of people know me by my actions.
ReplyDeleteAny coach under the public eye is at least somewhat known. By all accounts Lebo runs a clean program. This is what a good guy would do if he were running an athletics program. If we find out he is raping donkeys at a farm right outside of Tallassee, then sure, we can say he wasn't as good of a person as we once thought. It is pretty silly to get angry about people professing Lebo is a good guy when all evidence to date suggests he is. If you can't say Lebo is a good guy because he might have secrets, can you really say anyone is a good guy? Doesn't it go all across the board and not just with sports figures? Anyone can be a donkey rapist, after all. Donkey rapists look just like you and me.
bummer. guess i'll have to hit the podcast later. baseball season is here my friends. whew!!!!!
ReplyDeletemichael, they shut that donkey farm in Tallasse down when they raided all the "casinos" in AL.
ReplyDeleteMichael- I used Lebo as an example, but it applied to anybody. I'm sorry, just because you think people are good guys because of their actions doesn't mean you know someone. Look, Tiger Woods is slapping a lot of people in the face with that logic. It doesn't mean he is a bad guy, but I just don't get why people throw out there that person X is a good guy/ gal when they've never met the man / lady. Lebo was just an example, it applies everywhere.
ReplyDeleteOh and Michael- I would be scared to know you.
VictoryLand opens today at 1 p.m.
ReplyDelete"Showdown in Shorter"
Coincidentally, I am about to eat a 3 Musketeers Mint.
ReplyDeletemic you are indeed Too much. Know thy self and judge not for ye shall be judged in the end. Alot of people don't even know themselves but they muddle on and pretend to. Knowing another person, even one you live with for 55 years, is only skin deep. We look at deeds and determine what we think this person is and sometimes we are suprised at things they do.
ReplyDeleteEddie ... That was a very prevalent saying when the Tubs discussion was going on, and I imagine was guilty of it.
ReplyDeleteI don't have much Lebo experience, but he seems like a decent guy. Tubs ... I had been around on numerous occasions like many here, and he seemed like a good guy. So, I liked Tubs and think he's a good guy, but thought he needed to go.
Wait a minute. Never mind.
I don't know if that many people always felt that Tiger was a "good" guy.
ReplyDeleteI always thought he was a great golfer and who really guarded his private life. Now we know why.
Just noticing, when did jhag get the franchise tag? And that means he gets the average of the three top hotties?
ReplyDeleteTiger Woods doesn't really fit for me, because he already seemed a lil bit douchy. Warren Moon hitting his wife back in the 90's sucked because he was Mr Good Guy. Also, the Eugene Robinson incident in the 90's sucked, because he was Mr Good Christian Man. So how should go on? Can we really not say anyone is a good guy again when available evidence suggests they are, just because we are scared of being disappointed again? That is like choosing to never date again after being dumped. Get over it, love again! But don't rape donkeys.
ReplyDeleteMon'sTommyD (which is really how it got started)...
ReplyDeleteJay G stated on the blog that Jhag was the Franchise Player about 2 weeks ago, and added that to the front page about a week ago.
Sad to say, half of the Ring of Fire has been released, and offers were not tendered to the other half.
Regarding the Wrestling talk earlier...
ReplyDeleteDiamond Dallas Page's wife, Kimberly, went to Auburn. She was a cool girl.
holy crap, I've been working WAY too much. 2 weeks ago?!?! I feel bad. However at least I have the comfort in knowing I'm not a donkey rapist, as far as you all know.
ReplyDeletethat's MISS Kimberly to you, bub!
ReplyDeleteLet's just say, she has "grown" since her days at Auburn.
ReplyDeleteMichael- Donkey's need love too, that's why God invented Bama fans.
ReplyDeleteI guess it won't the front page quote, Eddie, but it should.
ReplyDeleteIt should.
In their defense, it is easy to mistake a donkey for one of their cousins.
ReplyDeleteKimberly Page is no Sunny from back in the 90s.
ReplyDeleteWhat about people that say someone is NOT a good guy? I mean, people say bad stuff about me, when I may be good for all they really know.
ReplyDeleteDude, I was in love with Sunny.
ReplyDeleteAnd PF, you are a wonderful guy. A true Auburn Man (whatever that is)!
pf- I would have a beer with you...or ten
ReplyDeleteSo if the the AU women win today, will they make the WNIT? Also, what would it take for the men to get in the NIT...beat Bama and 2 wins in the SEC Tourney?
ReplyDeleteIt's a truly sad day when you're trying to figure out what it would take to get into the NIT.
ReplyDeleteHey, the closer we can stretch basketball to the start of spring football practice, the better, in my opinion. It's a better outlook than it was about 2-3 weeks ago.
ReplyDeleteLarry Langford got 15 years, by the way.
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteI think Auburn wins the SEC tourney and turns down an automatic NCAA bid, Lebo's guys can make the NIT...the BEAV will rise again!
ReplyDeleteI'd be willing to have a beer or ten with a good many of you here. I've actually seen that through to its' logical conclusion with a few.
ReplyDeleteMichael, I like you post from 10:40. I think that is the most sense you have made since the last time you said we were all idiots.
ReplyDeleteHave 10+ beer with someone and you will learn way more about them than you probably wanted.
ReplyDelete10 beers? Pffft. That's just a primer.
ReplyDeleteI'll be sampling the alcoholic offerings at Auburn Lanes saturday night if you all would care to join me.
ReplyDeleteIt'd be a lot cooler if you did.
ReplyDeleteConnie Frederick
ReplyDeleteBEASLEY!!!
ReplyDeleteEhyou- no bowling for me and my new one-legged wife for a while. By the way, i didn't know you live in auburn
ReplyDeleteI'm just hangin' with my bro-in-law student for the weekend.
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDelete'One legged wife' hung me up man. I have no idea what an appropriate response is.
ReplyDeleteshe is not really one legged. Tore her ACL on our ski trip last week. So she is one legged for now, hence no bowlig or anything fun
ReplyDeleteYeah, I wouldn't expect jet-set ski types to hang out with me at the bowling alley.
ReplyDeleteI thought for a second that Harrison had married a pirate.
ReplyDeleteehyou, I would go if I were in Auburn. I love beer and bowling. I tend to get better the more beer I have.
ReplyDeleteI'm like that with croquet, bowling, golf...not so much with tennis.
ReplyDeleteyeah or swimming!!!!
ReplyDeleteSwimming is a thread killer.
ReplyDelete"Swimmin in women wit they own condominiums.....
ReplyDeleteFive plus Fives, who drive Millineums?
It's all about the Benjamins, what?"
ehyou- we will tear up a bowling alley too. mostly get tore up bowling, cause i suck at bowling
ReplyDeleteAU women up by five with just over 8 minutes left in the 1st half.
ReplyDeletei watched most the UT Lady Vols game at lunch. that was ugly. Ole Miss had no shot.
ReplyDeleteLadies falling apart. Kentucky up by five.
ReplyDeletebummer.
ReplyDeleteWe know you're a UK homer scottie.
ReplyDeleteWow scottie with the Diddy and Ma$e reference.
ReplyDeletenot when it comes to my Tigers homes.
ReplyDeletei'm 99.99% genuine auburn tiger.
.01% wildcat. ;)
CHB, "I ain't nobody's hero but I wanna be heard."
ReplyDeletei wore that cd out in college. ha.
AU down 7 at the half. They look sloppy.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of rappers...
ReplyDeleteme to scottie
ReplyDelete"why you standin over there looking at me while my girl standin here"
Speaking of Rappers, part two
ReplyDeleteGucci mane...what a name.
ReplyDeletehis music is even funnier than his name.
I think DeWayne Reed must have been conducting a turnover clinic at the women's practice recently.
ReplyDelete"CAUSE I'M STRAIGHT OUTTA CONCLAVE"
ReplyDeleteThat was a good one.
score?
ReplyDeleteAU women back within 3.
ReplyDeleteWere down by as much as 12.
ReplyDeleteNot looking good. Auburn down 13 after the last media timeout.
ReplyDeleteThe Auburn women ... not looking good.
ReplyDeleteThat's a wrap, 65-54.
ReplyDeleteThis one's over, Auburn loses to Kentucky 65-54.
ReplyDeleteSo it goes.
We'll have a LIVE BLOG from the Hoops Iron Bowl tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteIt'll be a grudge match. Loser finishes regular season with a losing overall record.
I think Nell's a good person, but...
ReplyDeleteWill the be a live blog for the baseball game featuring the same teams next week?
ReplyDeleteWe will have an upgraded chat capacity; up from 25 to 100.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I'll be at the AU-Ala baseball game on Tuesday.
ReplyDeleteThe upside: I will be at Pro Day on Tuesday and I'll update frequently.
One day, JayG should randomly show up at an Auburn Equestrian event or something and start live blogging it.
ReplyDeleteThat would be magnificent.
If any of you are in the Bham area tomorrow please come out to the Exceptional Foundations annual chilli cook off. I will be helping out the NorthWestern Mutual team. The event is held at the Homewood park. It's a really fun day and for a good cause.
ReplyDeleteLast year there were 70 tents and a live band. I think Al Del Greco will be a judge this year.
http://www.exceptionalchilicookoff.com/
ReplyDeleteWhen our equestrian horses get hurt, do we put them down? More importantly, if we do, can we apply this practice to other sports?
ReplyDeleteJet...with that line of thinking, poor Aairon Savage wouldn't have stood a chance the last few years.
ReplyDeleteJet,
ReplyDeleteKeep away from Kodi. I like him as a person.
We should start applying this rationale to fellow Hotties, i.e., I like (insert random name here[Eddie]) as a person, but not as a poster on HABOTN.
ReplyDeleteWell, all I gotta say is J-Z hasn't been seen around here lately, and Norm said, "I like J-Z, but ..."
ReplyDeletehow much does it cost to get into the gymnastics event tonight and is anyone going?
ReplyDeleteGymnastics = thread killer
ReplyDeleteJay should live blog a ski tourney.
ReplyDeleteJay live blogging a ski tourney = thread cessation
ReplyDeleteFriday nights aren't as much fun in the post-Monk era.
ReplyDeleteE-Bro - JGT live-blogging AU equestrian is superb idea! I'm sure 2.0 would enjoy it... perhaps she could provide analysis to go with JGT's sporty play-by-play.
Live blogging the collegiate drinking done after a ski tourney would be even more epic than the tourney itself. They involve a fire hydrant in their drinking... now thats dedication.
ReplyDeleteI always learn something from HABOTN. Today I learned to keep Michael away from my donkey.
ReplyDeleteJeez... You step away from HABOTN for a bit and you miss a donkey show.
ReplyDeleteMy Mood for the Day
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2010/football/nfl/03/05/bigben.allegation.ap/index.html?eref=sihp
ReplyDeleteBig Ben has been accused of sexual assault again. The funny thing about the article is the restaurant mentioned in the article, The Brick, is owned by Auburn grads. I went in with a group of Auburn students (ironically the ski team) and they saw our Auburn get up and talked to us for a while. Real nice folks, even comped our meal.
went to baseball this evening, our offense is strong; an 8 spot in the 7th saved it for us, Hurst was strong for us in the latter innings, our starting pitching is just so inconsistent
ReplyDeleteFunny. I make a comment about Equestrian and then I find out that our #2 ranked Equestrian team is facing off against #1 ranked Georgia tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteTime to step on their face with a hobnail boot. Or in this case, the steel and aluminum of a horseshoe.
GET SOME!!
Good early morning(for a Saturday) Hotties.
ReplyDeleteI'm headed out to the chili cookoff at Homewood park. Any Bhamians looking for some fun today please come out and support a great cause. Also vote for the Northwestern Mutual chili (thats where I will be).
thanks in advance
sorry that was posted under the wrong account. This is CH=B
ReplyDeleteEl HABOTNonito is muy deado el morningo.
ReplyDeleteHABOTN ... a blog barely alive ... we can rebuild it ... we have the technology.
ReplyDeleteStatus quo.
ReplyDeleteNew thread UPZ, though it's only a promo for the upcoming CAMPFIRE®.
ReplyDelete
