Your Sunday morning update

Hey everyone. Birthday Sleepover 2010® is in the books. That was six 8-year-old girls, two cupcakes each, unlimited Disney Channel and enough plush animals to create a well-stocked zoo.

My goal today? Get to Talladega Superspeedway and watch some racin'.

So I'll be around the HABOTN, but I'll be posting from the media center adjacent to Pit Road. If a few of you are planning to watch the race, I'll post occasional behind-the-scenes updates.

If you're not into racin', I understand.

Michael Waltrip's No. 55 Toyota was involved in a fender-bender on lap 83.

Johnny Sauter was the first guy to lose it in the Lap 83 incident, but he was bumped by Kyle Busch. The Sauter people are trying to get that car back on the track. Good luck.

Which group is more adamant about "greatness" - Bama fans or Earnhardt fans?

  3. Although I'm not into racing, I do look forward to your behind-the-scenes updates. Have a fun time!

I'm also not into work, but that didn't stop my boss from double shifting me today :-(

  4. i'll be at work here within the hour.

    boo.

    enjoy JG.

  5. I am not a big fan of NASCAR racing and never watch any other kind.
I do follow it some and pull for Kasey Kahne. I did for years pull for Bill Elliott. I have been to 1 race in Atlanta and 2 at Talledega,
Usually check in on the race 2 or 3 times and try to catch the finish.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Go Kasey! MrsTHT says he is a super nice person.

  7. Went to Talladega once in my life. I saw the 'Busch" race, and the Auburn Car came in 7th. I did the race of champions after that. I had more fun watching drunk a guy stand on the first row and flip Bobby Labonte the bird EVERY LAP.

Of course the one big Dega race I go to, there was not one wreck. They just ran in circles all day long. Not what I expected. Glad I went, I won't go back.

Of course, everything I touch sporting wise turns to garbage. The NYC trip this week has been a bust. Maybe the Braves can help me salvage the trip tonight.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Yeah I looked for u on tv yesterday stupup. Braves r struggling. Went from first to last place in four days.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Braves r struggling =
    Braves are Braves.

  10. jayG-I'll be watching. Not a huge NASCAR fan but I follow it enough to know who's who. Look at the 00 car today. It is sponsored by the BCS. If they have UAt stuff on it, my new favorite driver will be the one that puts that car into the wall.

Most times I am pulling for the 24 and the 48. Everyone hates them, but they win.

Any other baseball updates are not ;-)

  19. Car racing and horse racing; are they sports with drivers and riders as athletes, or are they activities?

    ReplyDelete
  20. Biff's picks, in his 3-man fantasy pick 'em game for money:

    Junior

    Fat pantload Tony Stewart

    Greg Biffle

Already a heckuva race. Biff likes the spoiler. Hamlin with a couple of old-school slingshot passes already.

    Woo-hoo!

Jay G, how 'bout some Tweets?

    ReplyDelete
  21. And ditto on the thanks for the b'ball scores.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Tweets? For baseball or NASCAR?

    ReplyDelete
  23. I'm trying to watch this race and it is just pointless. The winner of this race will be lucky, not because he is a better driver and that is the flaw with the sport. It has very little entertainment appeal until maybe the last few laps. Until then, if you are watching, you are hoping for a crash. I guess I'll never get this sport.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Eddie, the key to enjoying Nascar is having a couple drivers you really like, and a couple you really hate.

    Thats what I've found anyway.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Jay G, I wouldn't expect you to tweet from Plainsman Park, Homes. Let's see some Tweets from the media center.

I picked your pantload hero, Tony Stewart, in my weekly game.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Auburn up 5-4 over KY, after 6.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Wake- I guess so, but as far as thestance of calling this a sport and the drivers athletes, I probably disagree. NASCAR is the game of chance, and the only way to have any is to have money.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Eddie - Forget the race. You've got Coyotes and Red Wings on NBC. That's what I'd be watching if I wasn't at work.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Thanks, Cincy. Keep 'em comin'!

    ReplyDelete
  30. THT- I'm flipping to it now.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I'm on the fence about whether its a sport or not. But if you don't think there is a great amount of skill involved with these drivers you've got it all wrong.

The restrictor plate races do have a little bit of luck involved. But being able to read the draft and get your car where it needs to be is definitely a skill.

    ReplyDelete
  32. This race has been boring. No doubt.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Re: sport or no....

That's an individual decision, but I'll tell you this. I gained a helluva lot of respect for those guys after doing the Richard Petty Driving Experience in Atlanta.

Did nine laps in what was essentially an ARCA car. Got up to 149 miles an hour, and my heart was pounding out of my chest.

When I finished, it dawned on me that I was scared to death, going about 50 mph slower than the guys who do it on Sundays. There were about 5 other cars on the track, and we were all spread out. On Sundays, there are 42 other cars, often about a foot apart.

If golf's a sport, NASCAR definitely is.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Nascar require skill...yes, but so does video games. The difference is the video game won't kill you.

No offense, but golf actually requires someone to be athletical skilled, not just great hand eye coordination.

I agree that Nascar is a competition that requires great skill, but it is one of the only so call "sports" where the best that day actually may not win.

Nascar requires great skill, and if that is a sport than flying in the blue angels is just as "competitive". Anyways, I know there are several on the other side of this, but that's my feeling on it. Also, restrictor plate racing is retarded. Let's make sure that every car is completely equal and all go the same speed. How many lead changes today....exactly. Honk if you haven't lead a lap today at Dega should be the new slogan.

    ReplyDelete
  35. So...did we win the first baseball game?

    ReplyDelete
  36. >>but golf actually requires someone to be athletical skilled<<

    Sincerely,

    Craig Stadler
    John Daley

    ReplyDelete
  37. JKev- So if you are fat, you are not athletically skilled? Those players could have been so much more if they got their ass in shape.

So if I responded in the same sense it would be Nascar are athletes.

    Sincerely,

    Tony Stewart
    Jimmy Spencer

    ReplyDelete
  38. Like I said I don't have a particularly strong opinion one way or the other. But I think its hilarious that you think golf takes more athletic ability.

Driving fast in a circle for 5 laps, not too much athletic ability required. Doing it for 4 hours is another story.

They are both in the same category if you ask me. Right on the edge. They both take a great amount of skill, but don't require a great amount of conditioning or the like.

    ReplyDelete
  39. My favorite golfer is Craig Stadler and my favorite driver is Jimmy Spencer. Yeah, they're retired but still my faves. I'm an athlete and they remind me of myself so golfers and drivers are definitely athletes.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Wake- Every sport requires lucks and breaks, but I just have a hard time wrapping my head around something that takes more luck than skill to win.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Very cool Eddie, you got your post in while I was typing. Spencer references are always appreciated.

    ReplyDelete
  42. It's a fun debate, and this is the perfect thread to do so.

I can practice all day long at golf everyday and still have no chance at playing on the PGA Tour. If given the best equipment in Nascar, my odds are much better that I end up in a Nascar race.

    ReplyDelete
  43. ehyou- I don't know a ton of racing, but I know enough to be deadly. People at work are obsessed with it, so always get a lively debate. It is always funny that Golf is the #1 sport brought into play when talking about Nascar as a sport.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Never said drivers were athletically skilled. But if golf requires "athletic skill," so does driving a race car.

I really wonder if we won that first baseball game. And I have no idea where to find updates.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Re: Jimmy Spencer....

Funny moment at Charlotte in about 1996. Those redneck radio goofballs, John Boy and Billy, gave the command:

"Gentlemen....and Jimmy Spencer, start your engines!!"

    ReplyDelete
  46. JKev- UK 8-7 in the 9th.

    ReplyDelete
  47. LOL JKev. Pretty good.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I agree fun debate.

I agree there is a large amount of luck in restrictor plate races. But a considerably less in a normal track. Of course you have to get lucky to avoid a getting taken out, but beyond that there isn't much luck involved in most cases.

I still say golf and racing are in the same boat. If one is a sport they both are.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Wake- I disagree, but i'm completely biased in this and I know it.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Fox Sports' Larry McReynolds: "Two places in Alabama draw big crowds -- Talladega and Tuscaloosa."

    ReplyDelete
  51. I guess 88,000 isn't that big.

    ReplyDelete
  52. He's right, I mean what other place in Alabama ever gets big crowds. I can't think of anywhere. Nope not a one.

    ReplyDelete
  53. JayG- That's not a surprise that he said that. Look at the crowd he hangs around. They are one in the same.

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  59. Tough stuff, but thanks for the updates, Eddie. We really need to win the third one, with Ole Miss having taken two from LSU last night.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Agreed, we need to win the series.

    ReplyDelete
  61. This is gonna be an exciting finish. Green flag stops, and Juan Mon leading.

    Tweet it, Jay G!!!one!1

    ReplyDelete
  62. Okay, so I asked two questions earlier and you engaged on only one of them (partially since no comments on horse racing). I simply must know what you think Tim Tebow's feelings on NASCAR are.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Bag says: 88 wins.

    Tate says: 31 wins.

    ReplyDelete
  64. I would be happy with either one of those finishes

    ReplyDelete
  65. Bag says BEASLEY wins!!?? How can you go against that?

    ReplyDelete
  66. That caution killed Jeff Burton.

    ReplyDelete
  67. I don't think your pick is gonna win it JGT.

    ReplyDelete
  68. A good example of why Nascar is ridiculous.

  76. Thanks, Cincy.

    Best Talladega, statistically, ever.

Jeff Gordon calls out #48 car, justifiably.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Cincy - thanks for those updates! I'm quite certain I appreciate them more than you do the hockey updates.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Well, we need to start thinking about Auburn baseball and put all this racin' and hockeying aside for a bit. TIed up 4-4 going into the 7th!

    ReplyDelete
  79. I bet SteveFC would've taken the Tebow/NASCAR bait.

    ReplyDelete
  80. Anonymous4:57 PM

Norm ..yep he would. SFC is always up for a QB discussion.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Burton is my favorite driver still driving.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Anonymous5:01 PM

According to CBS gametracker, the score is 5-5 in the bottom of the 7th. AU has 2 outs and a man on 2nd.

    ReplyDelete
  83. Auburn scores. 6-5 in bottom of 7, 2 on, 2 out

    ReplyDelete
  84. It isn't I am not in to racing. It is just that I am better than any of those guys. If I drive 500 miles as fast as I can go, I don't end up where I started.

    ReplyDelete
  85. Kathy, at first I thought GameTracker must have been really behind, then realized they were only playing 7 in the second game!

    ReplyDelete
  86. C S Lewis was an awesome dude.

    ReplyDelete
  87. The folks that attempt to disprove God are usually the ones that end up His biggest proponents.

    ReplyDelete
  88. Anonymous5:53 PM

CS Lewis was friends with Tolkein.

    ReplyDelete
  89. I love Talladega, but not in the fall of '92 when the traffic caused me to be late to Pink Floyd @ Legion Field.

    ReplyDelete
  90. It would be hard to say that Tolkien isn't my favorite author. When one of your favorite works is put on the big-screen it's bittersweet. They get a lot of pub, which is good. But at the same time you want to say..."I've always liked that!".

    ReplyDelete
  91. ehyou - Tolkien's stuff counts among a few that I've read multiple times each.

    ReplyDelete
  92. Good day Hotties. Been running around all day. Just got caught up on everything here. Drivers are skilled and have some endurance, but they are not athletes in my opinion. Golfers are on the fence leaning towards athletes. Great to hear Au won baseball. I think 2010 is going to be a great sports year in Au. Can't wait to enjoy it with all of you.

Cincy, what channel were you watching the other day where the anchor called AU the university of Auburn? I would like to shoot the station an email.

    ReplyDelete
  93. What makes an athlete? To me, it's three things.

    1. Physical skill (strength, agility, endurance).

    2. Mental Acumen (decision making, will)

    3. Competition (venue, sanctioning)

Race Car drivers, NASCAR included, and Jockeys, possess all three. Luck is involved in any sport. Don't discount the entire sport because luck is a factor. If a soccer game can be won 1-0 off of a crazy deflection that had little to do with the player's skill or ability, a race can be won by someone who avoided a wreck or chose the right line.

    ReplyDelete
  94. One thing to me about an athlete is that they are typically well rounded in regards to other sports. What I mean by that is a good portion of say football players are usually pretty good at other sporting events. Maybe not great at them but still competitive. Not saying that NASCAR drivers can't do other thing, but I would be willing to be that not many are good at say basketball or baseball. Just my opinion and I could be totally wrong. I may not have completely articulated what I wanted to say but I think most of you get what I am trying to say.

    ReplyDelete
  95. On that note I played basketball with Lorenzo Diamond one time. He is a an athlete. He could dribble, shoot and do just about anything else he wanted. He was the biggest guy out there. Unfortunately for me I was the best player on my team so I had to guard him. I'm 5'll" 190 and he was something like 6'4-6" 250+. You can probably figure out how that went.

    ReplyDelete
  96. I bet that is a name that hasn't been mentioned on here in a long time.

    ReplyDelete
  97. Kyle Petty was not good in basketball at Camp Cougar.

    ReplyDelete
  98. ...He wasn't a spaz or anything, just not worthy of a college basketball scholarship. Of course, he wasn't looking for one.

THT: What do you want to do when you grow up?
    KP: Race cars.

    ReplyDelete
  99. I have always considered that CHB, but do you think Lance Armstrong is good at football?

    ReplyDelete
  100. THT, I think you need to elaborate more on this story.

    ReplyDelete
  101. I am hard pressed to call race car drivers athletes in the normal sense of overall sports, team or individual. They are skilled at what they do and can make split second mental decisions and have to me in pretty good shape.
CH=B the TV station that made the U of Auburn annoucemeent was ABC33/40. It was the new feamle sports caster.

    ReplyDelete
  102. I will say that if any of you were driven around the Talladega track at 180 (a slow lap speed) you would probaly wet you pants.

    ReplyDelete
  103. wake - we were at a summer basketball camp run by ABA Carolina Cougars HC Larry Brown and his ass't coaches and some of the players.

KP was a super nice kid, a couple of years younger than me. I bet he's still super nice.

Proof that race car drivers are athletes

    ReplyDelete
  104. While I think the whole debate over if something deserves to be called a sport or somebody an athlete is pointless (why does it really matter), I'll give mad props to guys who showcase an incredible amount of endurance in anything they do.

Lance Armstrong (and cyclists in general) is one of those guys. To race across a country for three straight weeks, 100-110 miles a day, eight or so of those days up steep mountains. Well...those guys have my respect.

Besides that...I think what they do is definitely a sport and requires some athleticism or freakish physical capabilities.

    ReplyDelete
  105. I don't like Kyle only because I don't like Kurt only because he disrespected Jimmy Spencer. If you disagree I don't really want to hear it.

    ReplyDelete
  106. How's this for disrespect...I have no idea who Kurt and Jimmy Spencer are.

    ReplyDelete
  107. 8 minutes til puck drops and I'm stuck at work
    :-(

    ReplyDelete
  108. I hated Kurt Busch when he was new, but he seems to have settled down some. I still hate Kyle.

    ReplyDelete
  109. THT very interesting. I bet race car drivers would do better to day because back then they were not in as good of shape as they are today.
BTW Evan Woobery has a good article on todays baseball game.

    ReplyDelete
  110. That's OK THT I could not name 1 professional hockey player. Maybe an old one like Sam Huff and Mean Joe Green. ...O wait a minute they weren't hockey players were they.

    ReplyDelete
  111. NASCAR racing takes more luck than most any other sport and today is proof. The best drover got knocked put of the race. It is a sport for sure, just one that is tough to follow. Drag racers get much more props from me. I acknowledge that in any sports the best team disentangle always win, but it probably happens way more in this sport than any other.

    ReplyDelete
  112. I agree with the luck thing in NASCAR. Some guys are just unlucky and others are very luckie and it shows in the standings every year.

    ReplyDelete
  113. CH=B,
What Digger said, Birmingham's ABC 33/40

    ReplyDelete
  114. Dang iPhone correct. Doesn't instead of disentangle

    ReplyDelete
  115. cincey I was watching that show also and just screamed at the TV.

    ReplyDelete
  116. So was luck not a factor in Colt McCoy missing the majority of the national championship?

I don't disagree that there is more luck in Nascar than most sports, I just don't see how that disqualifies it as a sport.

    ReplyDelete
  117. FYI: On Monday, April 26, Tiger Prowl will be at Lipscomb Field in Mobile from 6-8 p.m. CT. The TUF functions will also be in Montgomery on Tuesday (April 27), Birmingham on Wednesday (April 28) and Huntsville on Thursday (April 29). All four events will run from 6-8 p.m.

  119. Watching the Braves - it is painful.

    ReplyDelete
  120. All the Mobile Hotties need to get out in force.

Anyone else want to join me in sending a nasty gram to ABC33/40?

    ReplyDelete
  121. Thankfully, I gave up that pain source over 10 years ago.

    ReplyDelete
  122. Eddie - Please don't try to explain "Drag racers get much more props from me." I promise I wouldn't understand your explanation.

    ReplyDelete
  123. I balance the pain of Braves, with the joy of the Rays.

For years it was the opposite.

    ReplyDelete
  124. I have a solution for the Brave's blues that you all seem to have. Root for my Giants.

    ReplyDelete
  125. Why would anyone root for a team from San Fran?

    ReplyDelete
  126. I will continue to pull for the Braves and the Reds. One day one of them will be good again. Will we ever have The Big Red Machine again?

    ReplyDelete
  127. I've always pulled for the Braves. I do not expect that to change anytime soon. It is what it is.

    ReplyDelete
  128. good baseball game today, we need to stop with all this walk-off stuff it makes me nervous

    ReplyDelete
  129. I was at the Braves game tonight. I had such high hopes for the Braves when I booked this trip. I can unequivically say this weekend was an abosulute nightmare.

Roger McDowell tossed my wife and I a ball while Hanson warmed up. After that, I am having a hard time figuring out anything else good that happened. She and I argued half of the time. The braves went 0 fer the weekend. Lines were long everywhere we went. The Metropolitian Muesum of
Art was a bore, but wifey wanted to go.

The braves are awful. I have been to 4 games this year and I believer they have committed 10-12 errors combined in those 4. They had 10 baserunners tonight and 0 runs. Chipper is too old to carry the team, Heyward is too young to to that kind of lifting. It was awful.

    Oh and it was raining.

Short of the plane coliding with
a mountain tomorrow, I do not believe this trip could get worse.

    ReplyDelete
  130. stupup - No visits to all the antiquarian map dealers in Manhattan?
Or to the NYPL Map Reading Room?

Wow, that is a bad trip ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  131. Anonymous5:11 AM

My alternative to the Braves (none of the team I knew other than Chipper are left anyway) is the Nats. Not much hope there.

    ReplyDelete
  132. I went to the Lookouts game on Friday and they won. Also won 5 of their last 7. So there's that.

    ReplyDelete
  133. Good morning NoVa & E-Bro.

All you other Hotties, rise and shine! You're burning daylight.

    WARRRRRRRRRRRRR EAGLE!!!

    ReplyDelete
  134. Stop talking THT and others, I was trying to sleep. I guess I have to go to work since its Monday.

    ReplyDelete
  135. The Braves are the best team in the NL. They've had a rough stretch, it happens.

    ReplyDelete
  136. THT,
I was on the elliptical - you know, that thing you hate to do - exercise? I hate it, too. :) Must find me a new movie to watch.

    Everyone have a fabulous Monday!

Where is Luv? I hope her neck is not giving her problems again.

    ReplyDelete
  137. The number of mental mistakes that the Braves are making the last few games is amazing.

I do usually expect them from Escobar because his head is always far from the game, but the pop up Friday where Chipper, Infante and McCann all goofed and allowed the run to score without anyone covering home was awful.

    ReplyDelete
  138. WERK,
What is the deal with Escobar? Does he think he is so good he doesn't have to think about the game? He is really starting to irritate me.

    ReplyDelete
  139. Escobar drives Bobby Cox crazy because he has a ton of talent, but mentally he's not a focused player.

    ReplyDelete
  140. So Escobar is pretty much another Andrew Jones then, huh?

    ReplyDelete
  141. Thanks to my Korean to English translation book, I am able to translate Feng's pronouncement.

"Auburn baseball needs to go .500 the rest of the way to get to Hoover. Luke Cothron may be the next hoops domino to drop. The Atlanta baseball team is going to frustrate its fans. Feng cannot wait for football season. Norm is a douche. Earnhardt!"

    ReplyDelete
  142. Morning Hotties.

Jet - I'm 100% positive that you got part of that translation incorrect.

    ReplyDelete
  143. Anticipating Auburn being in the SEC BB tourney, I just checked the Hoover schedule. It is exactly the same time we are in Colorado for our friend's graduation from the Air Force Academy! We get back on Saturday, so if Auburn is in the final game, we can go on Sunday.

    ReplyDelete
  144. Cincy - be hopeful, but don't hold your breath all the way home from Colorado.

Been to 1 NASCAR race. I went to the Talladega ARCA (Sat?)race with My-Brother-the-Bammer a few years back. We each wore hats to support our favorite CFB teams. Near the end of the race some guy makes a comment that we were a "disfunkshinull famly", folks 30' feet around us in all directions got involved in the discussion and a Bama-AU fite almost broke out. Good thing because as you can imagine, the AU folks were heavily outnumbered at that event.

Errybody got back to watching the race just in time for the ubiquitous mega-wreck in the final laps. Ima one-and-done on the NASCAR thing.

  148. The Braves can't score runs so they make up for it by committing errors both ghysical and mental.

  149. once again, the easiest way to shut up 90% of bammers is one simple question: what year did you graduate?

    also acceptable:
i didn't know they had a masters program in hole digging at bammer.

  150. I passed a classic pick-up truck on the way in to work this morning. It said "Hillbilly Girl" in the middle of the back window, had an "88" on the left side of the back window and a Bammer elephant on the right side. It also had a "Litle E" vanity license plate.

  151. So Jevan Snead didn't get drafted. Safe to say he got some bad advice.

    ReplyDelete
  152. I opened the windows and went back to bed this morning. Why? Thunder, lightning, and a hard rain make for great sleep and fantastic dreams. I'll make up the work I missed some other time.

  153. Maybe Houston Nutt gave Snead the bad advice...on purpose.

    ReplyDelete
  154. I don't know, E-Bro. I think Houston Nutt is only vaguely aware of reality, and I don't think he is capable of such complicated string pulling as giving false advice to accomplish other goals.

  155. I had Samoas (Girl Scout cookie) ice cream last night. Whoever invented that should get a promotion.

  156. People like Snead ask lots of people, but only listen to what they think to be true before asking.

    ReplyDelete
  157. Snead thought to himself, "When breaking down my game video, I'm pretty sure NFL scouts will only look at what I did in 2008. Man I smell good today."

  158. I smell great today.

  159. On according to Jim, Jim and his wife wrote letters to themselves on their wedding night with 15 year goals. On their 15th anniversary, they opened the letters. Jim's only goal was "do it in every state of the big 10 conference."

I've just changed my 15 year plan....but what if the SEC expands to 16 teams, does my goal expand?

  161. Peter...yes. It does. I might even go a step further and say every city instead of just the states.

Granted, it's hard to find the charm in doing said activity in places like Stark-vegas and Fayettenam, but...

  162. i'm eating onions for lunch today. doubt i will smell great for the rest of the day. :(

    ReplyDelete
  163. that is a great 15 year plan for Jim. however i doubt Mrs. Scottie would like it. i'll propose it over supper tonite.

  165. Auburn assistant coaches will still be making the rounds to high schools in limos, like last year, starting in Mobile today before heading off to Montgomery on Tuesday, Birmingham on Wednesday and Huntsville on Thursday.

  166. Scottie...
A outright proposal is doomed. You gotta just try your best as opportunities present themselves.

  167. Yes, they can never know about it.

  168. Any chance the motor home is built right there in Red Bay by Tiffin? - No, absolutely no chance at all.

  169. I told Jevan he was as safe to go pro as I was to text the new weather bunny in Memphis.

    Giggitah!

  170. I advise all college football players the same way. Stay in school get your diploma. One more year in school will help not hurt you.
Those that don't listen will someday regret it or go back and get it.

  171. Hard to believe Snead didn't get drafted but Crompton did.

    ReplyDelete
  172. Not so much based on last year's play. Crompton seemed head and shoulders above. I started to refer to Snead as the new Crompton a few games into last season.

    ReplyDelete
  173. I'm not scout. But it seemed to me that Snead has potential if he can get back on the right path after a horrific 2009. but I see nothing in Crompton that would make me think he could be an NFL quarterback.

Either way Snead is an idiot for coming out earlier.

    ReplyDelete
  174. I will say, however, that I AM surprised Crompton went period, even though he has a pretty good arm.

  175. Who the #$@% is Jackson Pollock?

    ReplyDelete
  176. Jackson Pollock was an influential American painter and a major figure in the abstract expressionist movement.

  177. If that isn't enough I can copy and paste more form wikipedia.

  178. Played by Ed Harris in a movie.

    ReplyDelete
  179. Or at least the character was based on Jackson Pollack. I didn't see the movie.

  180. I can't let it be this close.
